Firstly please when you get in, go and renew your passport and do the 10 years validity.

Renewing your passport does not affect the visa stamped on the old passport, you have to stick them together when travelling.
If you doing name change, make sure it is being done for a VALID reason so that when you are asked you can defend it.
As for the airline, it will be best to speak with them to hear their feedback on the issue, though it should not be problem especially when the change was based on solid reason.
You have still enter CAD with the four months validity, but it is advisable you explore renewing the passport whilst you are here.

Work Permit does not give you access to enter a country from border, it only gives you temporary status when inside the country. You would always need a TRV to enter Canada via any border.

Hence, ensure you request for your new Nigerian passport when you leave Canada to Nigeria. Ensure you have the new passport before you return back to Canafa and attach it with the old passport where your Canada TRV is stamped, both should suffice for your return to Canada.

However, ensure to reapply for a new TRV later on the new passport so you can discard the old one finally.

In such case, POF will be needed, her employment letter to verify her source of funds and other the Nigerian Sister must also show ties with Naija (Something to show she will be coming back after her visit).

Thank you for your response. I’m aware of those. My question is my sister in Nigeria ( the student) does she need to show POF given she is a student with no money to her name.

If she does need POF, how much would be sufficient and can we just put the lump sum in her account without it being a red flag??

A question, has your husband met his baby ‘in flesh’ yet? If NO, then I’d suggest you (1)add an emotional appeal LOA with your application stating family re-unification, emotional and mental support from your spouse who is yet to meet his newborn as reasons. And (2) Husband should send letter of invitation for the baby also appealing that he can’t wait to see his daughter/son and be reunited with you his wife as that will help his settlement in Canada and his studies.
Other documents you’ll need will appear in the upload section.
You will also need to attach ur SOWP and husband’s Study visa. I strongly believe the processing will be faster.

If your uni/college resumption time is pretty close, you can attach an LOE explaining the obvious urgency+Evidence of nearness of resumption. That could help fast track the processing.
