PoliticsRe: Igbanke Community Is Of Igbo Origin, Not Bini – Historian From Ika Land Speaks.. by AlphaMogul: 7:27pm On Jun 25, 2025
EvergreenDiarie:
Igbanke Community is of Igbo Origin, Not Bini – Historian from Ika Land Speaks Out

In this enlightening video, a respected historian from Ika land presents compelling historical evidence and oral traditions suggesting that the Igbanke community traces its roots to Igbo origins rather than Bini. Through detailed analysis, he challenges widely held beliefs and sheds light on the migration patterns, language, and cultural ties that connect Igbanke to the larger Igbo ethnic group.

This thought-provoking discussion invites viewers to explore the complex history of ethnic identity in Nigeria and encourages further dialogue about heritage, history, and truth.

I like the way the FIRST speaker in the video spoke maturely, calmly and assertively. The other young boy with braids who spoke last was just rambling on while speaking and irresponsibly twisting and mispronouncing the name "Yoruba" as a sort of ethnic slur.

YES! It's a well-known FACT that Igbanke people are historically part of Ikaland so there's NO contest here. BUT Ikaland itself had waves of immigration into it from other ethnicities as well going back to a couple of centuries, so it's appropriate to allow each community to decide who they are and NOT someone using ipob propaganda from the east of river Niger in that video trying to claim that Ikaland is monolithic in ethnic origin. Period.

IGBOPROMISE1:
C’mon! I mean, is anyone really surprised at the kind of company Tinubu keeps!? Right from the 90s, dude has had a history of poor judgement when it comes to picking who to associate with, and this led to the US gov’t once relieving him of a whopping $500,000….which i hasten to add, he hurriedly paid without question! You know what they say about birds of the same feather!
STOP typing ABSOLUTE nonsense about what you have NO full knowledge about, while engaging in historical revisionism and defamation of an innocent man! What "history of poor judgement" are you talking about?

For your information, the same United States Government worked VERY closely with the then Senator 'Bola Tinubu and other top pro-democrats back in the 1990s and beyond during the pro-democracy movement struggles after the annulment of the June 12, 1993 elections (of which I'm very familiar with as an active participant) in order to restore democracy in Nigeria while he was on forced political exile in Chicago (in the early 1990s right till 1999 when he returned with many other gallant pro-democracy activists) after escaping assasination attempts by the military dictatorship of Abacha and the raiding of his Lagos State residence which led to the loss of lots of ORIGINAL business and educational documents and property which was one of the unfortunate event in Nigeria's entire history.

Now, back in 1993, the same United States Government returned about 1.8 million USD of the now President Bola Tinubu's personal money back to his U.S. bank accounts while ONLY forfeiting about 460,000 USD for other reasons. As of 2003, the United States Consulate in Lagos through their then Legal Attache, Michael Bonner stated CLEARLY in official documentation to Nigerian investigators on request that the then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State has NEVER been arrested or had ANY criminal convictions in the United States based on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database. That FBI central database contains full information on all the arrested and convicted criminals in the modern history of the entire United States and her overseas territories. Contrary to the recycled propaganda from these highly IRRESPONSIBLE paid ipob troll farms and tribal bigots, President 'Bola Tinubu of Nigeria is NOT and has NEVER been a drug baron or drug lord. He is a chartered accountant, auditor and technocrat who rose to the senior rank of a treasurer at the multinational oil and gas company Mobil Nigeria (now ExxonMobil).

I've tried to attach the official document of 2003 I right mentioned above by the then Legal Attache of the United States Consulate in Lagos, Michael Bonner here so that everyone can see but it wasn't attaching but I will try again. I detest when random posters go about defaming innocent people online or offline just to score cheap publicity. Even if that Belorussian, Alex Zingman had issues in the past, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law and even has a right to continue in any line of legitimate international business after being prosecuted when he would have learned his lessons if found guilty.

OK, the 2 Web links right BELOW contain the screenshots of the official document from the year 2003 by the United States Embassy in Lagos State through the then Legal Attache, Michael Bonner in which he CLEARLY affirmed [based on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database], that President 'Bola Tinubu has NOT been INDICTED or CONVICTED of ANY crimes at anytime in the United States.

2]=>https://www.thecable.ng/the-obsessions-of-david-hundeyin/amp

In addition, the same Fulani politician called Atiku Abubakar who was rambling out through Paul Ibe, his insidious spokesman over Alex Zingman's past was massively incriminated and linked to a United States Congressman (William Jefferson) over an international corruption case (Halliburton Bribery Scandal) of which the American Congressman was jailed in the United States to for, so, the Atiku Abubakar dude himself, has NO clean past himself including his corruption case while working in the Nigerian Customs before he got a soft landing.

So, the United States does NOT offer any plea bargaining with ANY of these dangerous and irresponsible drug barons BUT jail them and seize their property linked to hard drugs until justice is served. Period.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Classmate Alex Not New To Africa, Has Shady Deals In Zimbabwe -Vimbai by AlphaMogul:
BlessedGift:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhPvoOEoxkk

Media Personality, Vimbai Ekpenyong has said Alex, Tinubu's Chicago School Mate has shady deals in Zimbabwe, Zambia and not new to Africa.

Fresh controversy has erupted over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic records after he introduced a Belarusian businessman, Alex Zingman, as his former classmate at Chicago State University during a public event in Abuja on Monday, June 23.

Speaking at the launch of the Renewed Hope Agriculture Mechanisation Programme, President Tinubu pointed to a man in the crowd, stating, “To all of you, Alex was my very good neighbor, and went to the same school with me in Chicago. Never did we dream that I would be in this position as President of Nigeria and Alex, a successful businessman from Belarus.”

The man, identified as Alex, stood and acknowledged the applause. However, the president’s comment swiftly ignited scrutiny online and among political observers.

Investigations quickly linked the man to Alex Zingman, a Belarusian national allegedly involved in controversial arms deals and financial activities across Africa.
Instead of largely focusing on the short to long-term benefits of the Agriculture Mechanisation Program in Nigeria, these ones posting randomly online simply chose to make fools out of themselves by analysing and overanalyzing Alex Zingman and his past including the alleged arrest in DRC of which he was released just a few months later the same year and he's been a free man ever since.

While constructive criticisms with solutions provided are very good, these irresponsible guys are NEVER happy at new economic developments taking place in that country, NEVER provide tangible solutions as well
and this has been my major observation on all these relentless disinformation and toxic hate speech online (even before the 2023 Presidential election cycle) on every positive move made by the Federal Government in Nigeria.

I saw an advert which says “your dream begins when work ends” I see this advert every day to work, I think about it from the moment I see it till I get to the office and it makes me wonder why do I have to wait till work ends before I can achieve my dreams, aside working for a corporate organization what other side hustle do I have or can I engage in? When you start working for a new organization you’re told you can’t have any side business that will make you lose focus from the job.

While not everyone can be an Entrepreneur, with a steady income everyone can save for rainy days. Some of us were lucky we got jobs before or after we were done with our service year others not so, how have you coped without a job? Learnt a skill? Free lanced? Professional certifications? Work for free? Or just sit at home.

Those of us who were fortunate enough to have gotten jobs, are you working the dream job? How many jobs have you had after NYSC? How much have you saved so far? Do you have job stability where you’re currently working? Is your job frustrating you already? Are you planning on resigning already?.

CareerRe: High Paying Skills You Need To Learn In Nigeria. by AlphaMogul: 9:53am On Jun 25, 2025
Talk2Bella:
Is learning a skill really important?

So, 4 years ago I wrote why learning a skill outside your university degree is really important, you can read about it here https://talk2bella.com/2017/07/04/why-every-nigerian-lady-must-learn-a-skill/. well, dem say who no go no know hahahahaha, Naija hard sha, e hard die, e hard pieces kudos to anyone out there holding it down because if you fit make am for naija trust me you can make it anywhere.

During my NYSC I enrolled in a fashion school to keep busy and also plan for the future incase the labor market wasn’t kind to me at least make I get backup plan ba? Anyway, I sha learn the work and I was lucky before I finished NYSC job came. The easiest job to get for a fresh graduate is always sales job and the purpose of this is to toughen you up for the real world.

Truth is sales is an interesting career building type of job, it will mould you for the real world and if you succeed in sales trust me you can succeed in any management position, its dynamism is unique. Anyway, I did sales for years and trust me when I sale ko easy mehn because Jehovah built me to be chubby, but I was just looking like pankere everyday of my life, I became a bonny structure and got massively addicted to coffee, I made money o I wont lie, but did I have the time to spend this money? No, I didn’t. sales shaped me, moulded me, gave me experience I wouldn’t have gotten if I had gotten a different job, I networked and engaged in training others as well, it built my confidence but at the end of the day I noticed I was becoming stagnant, I was doing the same thing over and over and over again, I was gaining experience in just one field without diversifying and then I decided to change career.

I have done things sha in the name of hustle, I have drastically changed from 4 years ago to today, it’s not about coming to the internet to make mouth, demean others and be a motivational speaker but I am here to still remind you that things are hard, and it might not get better soon, things are o but people still de cash out.

Let’s focus on the topic of this content mbok, I learnt fashion designing but I haven’t used it for a day, the plan is to make money and one day diversify where I open a fashion hub and outsource it to professionals. I have the knowledge already because I learnt this a while ago, but I do not have a passion for it, so it is really important if you’re going to learn a skill let it be something you really have a passion for cos this country will humble you.

Understanding Data: I honestly cannot deny that understanding and interpreting data is one of the best skills to acquire, I am currently on this path as my new career is focused on growth marketing which encompasses both digital and T-shaped marketing and this has to do a lot with collating, analyzing and Interpreting data. Truth is you do not need to be an expert in this field, having basic knowledge will get you the audience you desire and from there you can grow.

Photography/Videography/Cinematography and Graphics Design: trust me when I say professional photo and videographers are cashing out constantly, like waaaaaaaaaht. Not our olden days photographers o that we see at weddings who come to ask to snap you for like 500 Naira or so. For years now the Nigeria music and movie industry has boomed and is booming, and you can testify to the quality of contents that is coming out of the industry. TY Bello, Clarence Peters and their colleagues make a ton of money providing their services, it is important you know that they have been in the game for a long time and now they’re reaping their earned rewards. Being a Graphics designer in this era and being good at it is a testimony because if you play your cards well your works will speak for you both locally and internationally. Advertising agencies, small businesses, big businesses, freelancing gigs, just name it is going to be at your beck and call, but no be beans o because you need to put in the hours to be an expert in this field.

Digital Marketing: see ehn, concerning this level I no need to even de write epistle onto this matter, the koko be say anyone can be a digital marketer, anyone can do 1+1 and run ads on Facebook, Google, Twitter etc and cash out. There are tons of materials online to learn freely from it is one skill you don’t have to spend much money acquiring maybe just internet money and have a smart phone. Digital Marketing is complex and delves all the way to growth, performance, content, creative, email marketing etc so pick a niche and decide which one you’d like to excel in.

Fashion Designing/Makeup and Hair: I love has dynamic this skill has become over the years, growing up and visiting a tailor was gender specific, my brother visited a male tailor while my mum and myself visited a female one. Most of then sew just for their gender and weren’t even willing to experiment or go out of their comfort zone, but you see this life ehn, it is all about constant growth and we can see a lot of that growth in the fashion industry. Some male fashion designers even sew better than women in the industry, it is no more gender based and we see a lot of these people cashing out, dear naija yoot what are ye waiting for?

Makeup and Hair is another money-making skill I’d advise anyone to go into, wig making is a booming Industry and you know the funny thing? There’s this funny stereotype that a man or woman who ventures into the opposite gender’s trade will excel more than that gender e.g a man making hair for women, makeup etc will do better than a woman in that field, is this true?

Side Hustle: lol abeg make una leave me because to me side hustle is a skill, not everyone can combine 8-5 and still manage a side business. There are a lot of side hustles one can go into and the WWW has helped a lot of people start up and even prosper, a colleague told me a story of how his friend earned 30M in one day from Dropshipping my mouth dropped and spit was just drooling from the side hahahahah. Immediately I built an e-commerce store and started mini-importation shaperly. I made money o I wont lie, I am an experienced digital marketer, so it was easy for me to run ads to promote my business. I spoke to a colleague and good friend Abimbola who was into dropshipping and she put me through, gave me her contacts in China and voila I was making money until covid and dollar happened, I waited a while and decided to put a hold on it and go for my MBA in Marketing.

This writeup is about skills that are easily accessible and learnable, and I haven’t even covered half of it. There are tons of skills to learn that’s not about coding, app development, UX/UI because even me sef no get brain for this kain skills and I know not everyone can learn it, 1+1 de give me headache I no fit learn plenty coding abegi.

No kind hustle wey I never put my hand for, I don even do Tigernut Milk de supply people sef and we all know how having another source of income is very important in this economy. Salary no de reach person again, cost of foodstuffs don increase massively, Nepa bills don turn extortion and these days person gats de budget for self-protection because of herdsmen and bandits.

Learn these skills to supplement your income, but if your salary de shake your bank account every week with positive vibrations, guy you no need am just de enjoy you salary de go.

Foreign AffairsRe: Syrian War, Oil Prices And The Paris Attacks by AlphaMogul: 9:40am On Jun 25, 2025
fxbot:
But, building Mosques and filling planes with fighters for Allah costs money. Although Saudi oil costs as little as $10 per barrel to pull out of the ground, the government needs a breakeven price of $95 per barrel in order to keep funding trouble abroad while keeping peace at home. Given today's low oil prices, Saudi Arabia is spending $10 billion a month of its savings to keep the country afloat. According to the IMF, it will take 5 years of their current levels of deficit to send the country bankrupt.
Slippery Slope

Five years of deficit funding seems manageable. Five years is a long time, anything can happen. However, five years may be a generous estimate. Countries find financing gets harder when they get down towards the bottom of the cookie jar. Without large reserves, international lenders get jumpy and interest rates rise sharply. The country will start to face inflation and the government policy of subsidizing the prices of essential goods will become even more expensive, thus escalating the depletion of reserves. It may only take three years to drive the Kingdom bankrupt if the government doesn't reign in their spending and a costly ongoing war with Yemen doesn't help.

If the Saudi Arabian government takes the necessary action to cut their budget and reduce the annual deficit, they may not last five years: cutting military spending against Yemen, heavily armed by Iran, is not an option. Cutting entitlements used to pacify ultra-conservative wahhabis would be suicidal. So transitioning Saudi Arabia into more of a value-added, sustainable economy seems the best option, however this meets cultural opposition.

As of 2015, a mere 4 per cent of Saudis work in the private sector. As a whole, the Saudi private sector is 87 per cent staffed by foreigner workers. Since the oil price crashed, the Saudi government has attempted to force the private sector to hire more Saudi nationals to reduce the state cost of unemployment. But as one CEO puts it: it is "a serious battle trying to get those that they hire to actually do anything". Working for a living is simply not culturally accepted in the Islamic state. This cultural attitude explains why astonishingly, Saudi Arabia is a net importer of gasoline: it imports 25 per cent of its gas and 20 per cent of its diesel. In other words Saudis produce oil easily (by inviting in foreign companies with their own highly trained staff) but they don't "add value" by refining it. Refining crude oil may seem like such a low-hanging fruit for us westerners, yet the effort involved puts is out of reach of Saudis.

To make things worse, the army of the Kingdom is mired in an unwinnable war in the country's southern neighbor, Yemen. Granted, the Saudi army is one of the best equipped in the world. The government's back-scratching with Western powers resulted in the Saudis buying an enormous amount of weaponry to keep the GDP of their allies buoyant. However this stands in contrast with the effectiveness of its service members. Commanders traditionally hold their positions because they are Saudi Royals, not necessarily because they are competent in military matters. On the ground, as many members of the western military who part-took in joint training with the Saudi armed forces have anecdotally reported, Saudi discipline is mediocre, to put it mildly. And as everyone knows, the plural of anecdote is data. Should ISIS head south and Iran-backed Yemen head north, most Saudi soldiers may simply run for the hills.
My Enemy's Enemy

The Saudi obsession with getting at Syria has drawn the attention of Western media to the Kingdom's private funding of terrorists and lost it friends. By contrast, Iran seems more reasonable and easier to deal with. The standoff between the US and Russia, picking sides in the Syrian conflict is melting away, as the US and its allies abandon Saudi Arabia and realize that shoring up President Assad is preferable to absorbing millions of Muslims in Europe.

Moreover, Europe needs a new source of gas to prevent Vladimir Putin throttling the newly liberated countries of Eastern Europe through his gas blackmail policy. However, through all of the planning and lobbying for permission to build one or other pipeline through Syria, there is one obvious outcome that everyone seems to have overlooked. Why not build both and let them compete?

The Sunni/Shia religious war presages further blackmail down the line. If only the Sunni pipeline gets built, the Sunni Muslim governments of the Middle East will be able to blackmail Europe to do its bidding by turning off supplies. If only the Shia pipeline gets built, Iran can blackmail Europe, in fact you can bet that Vladimir Putin has already organized a coordinated "pricing" strategy with the Iranians.

It is in Europe's interests to have three piped gas suppliers - Russia, Qatar, and Iran. That way, no single force can manipulate Europe's energy needs for political gain. Although Russia and Iran might team up, the prospects of the Sunnis in the south forming a cartel with the other two suppliers are slim. The United States has little direct commercial or political interest in any of the possible outcomes of the pipeline projects, aside for pleasing "allies" Saudi Arabia and Turkey. It is just committed to keeping Europe free, and so a powerful Putin incurs military expense for America.
Plan B

The Saudis don't have a Plan B, but Iran does, and it is implementing it now. They are playing their capitulation into a diplomatic triumph and winning friends away from Saudi Arabia. As the West and Russia cease to undermine Syria's efforts to survive, those exported wahhabi insurgents will return home to Saudi Arabia with an axe to grind and a surplus of arms.

The Iranian gas pipeline will be built through Syria. With the trouble in Syria over, the Americans will take less interest in the Kurds. Turkey can go back to quietly stamping on the prospects of an independent Kurdistan, and would probably be willing to see the final leg of the gas pipeline pass through their territory, thus removing the need for an underwater segment and reducing its cost while upping their geostrategic significance.

With Saudi Arabia in turmoil, its ability to project influence on the world will erode itself. Without its oil output, oil prices will rise again. Without its exported petrodollars, ISIS will melt away. Turkey may grow to become the chief Sunni Muslim nation in the world - a position it held when it was the seat of the Caliphate.

They be touching it like they're messing around with the light switch grin There're ways to touch it. Placing your hand there doesn't magically make things happen. Same thing with penetrative sex. Just because you're in there doing your thing, IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING. You need the right combination, at the right time at that. “Since then, she has flown the Alpha Jet as well as undertaken training sorties on the Super Mushshak as a prolific instructor pilot, producing and mentoring younger pilots for the NAF.

“Her outstanding performance at GAFCSC not only symbolises personal excellence and resilience but also underscores Nigeria’s growing leadership in regional defence and commitment to gender inclusion in the armed forces.

“This remarkable achievement further reflects the Nigerian Air Force’s strategic investment in human capital development under the visionary leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar,” he said.

Ah! Kafayat Omolara Sanni is a diligent Flt. Lt. kicking ass. She's flown on several sorties to deal with the terror groups in Nigeria since 2019.

I wish her more years of active service with the Nigerian Air Force as a combat jetfighter pilot.

Tolulope Arotile too flew combat helicopter missions against the terror gangs before her former school mate mistakenly knock her down with his car in a freak accident at the Air Force base in Kaduna State. She will be missed for her pioneering role as the FIRST EVER Nigerian female combat helicopter pilot.

Billionaire Telegram founder leaves his '£17bn' fortune to his '106 children' conceived naturally and via sperm donation

The billionaire founder of messaging platform Telegram will leave his fortune of £17 billion to the more than 100 children he has fathered.

Tech tycoon Pavel Durov, 40, has six children with three different partners and is believed to have around 100 more after he donated sperm on a mass scale to dozens of couples in 12 different countries.

Durov revealed his plans to leave his fortune to all of his offspring in a recent interview with France's Le Point magazine, saying that he saw no difference between the children he conceived naturally and those who came from donations.

'They are all my children and will all have the same rights', Mr Durov said. 'I don't want them to tear each other apart after my death.'

But none of them will get any cash for 30 years, he revealed.

'I want them to live like normal people, to build their lives on their own, to learn to trust themselves, to be able to create—not to be dependent on a bank account'.

The billionaire first revealed that he had fathered several children via sperm donation last year after a Russian woman based in Switzerland claimed that he was the father to her three children.

Mr Durov, whose messaging platform has over one billion monthly active users around the world, has been dubbed the Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk of Russia.

His fortune is estimated at up to £17 billion.

Born in Russia, Durov spent many of his childhood years in Italy before returning to his homeland when his father, a scholar in ancient Roman literature, landed a new job at St Petersburg University.

Russian-born Durov is currently under judicial supervision in France after he was placed under investigation for alleged organised crime on Telegram.

At the age of 21, he set up platform VK, which was dubbed the ‘Facebook of Russia’ at the time.

When he refused to provide data on Ukrainian protestors to Russian security agencies he was effectively forced to give up his company and moved abroad in 2014.

Mr Durov said the absence of any secure form of communication in Russia gave him the idea for Telegram.

God1000:
Iran used "cluster bomb warheads" with smaller explosives attached in its attacks on Israel on Thursday.

According to an initial investigation, somewhere around seven kilometers above the ground, the missile splits into several smaller bombs, each of which has an impact of an eight-kilometer radius.

Each one of the smaller bombs carries around two kilograms of explosives.

The cluster bombs were used in the attack on Azur.

If one of the cluster bombs fell in Holon, it could explain why many heard "miniature blasts" that occurred after the initial blast.

Some miniature warheads have landed but not exploded

Israel Fire and Rescue Authority sent out an urgent message saying that some of the miniature warheads have landed but have not exploded.

They called on the public not to touch the explosives, but to call the proper authorities to come and disperse them.

What is wrong with bamboo houses as low cost, affordable housing?

The following is an account of the history of Ijebu Ife as recorded by historians and which is in accord with the traditions handed down by the ancestors of the King of the town, Ajalorun:

Olofin Ogbolu, eldest son of King Oduduwa succeeded his father. He had only reigned for some few years in Ile Ife when, as a result of an annual consultation of Ifa Oracle, the High Priest delivered a message that unless the King, Olofin Ogbolu, relocate from the town with all his sub-chiefs to another part of the Yoruba country to establish themselves anew, Ile Ife and its surrounding towns would be destroyed by flood.

As was customary with our ancestors, Olofin had no choice than to abide with what Ifa decreed. And in company with his chiefs and people, he arrived in many places where Ifa, upon consultations, did not allow him to settle. Some of these include Emuren in Remo Division, Isiwu in Ikorodu Division, Erunwon and Ilefon near Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu, Okemori and Idotun near Isonyin, Odongbodu, Egbe, Okeyejo, Okelugbogu, Imomo, etc, in Ilugun Alaro area of Ijebu Division.

The Elemuren, the Elerunwon, the Alse Omo of Isiwu were permitted by the Ajalorun Olofin Ogbolu to wear beaded crown. “In 1894” the Elemuren entered into treaty of friendship and protection with the British government. There was none of the articles of that treaty in which Elemuren was referred to as “chief” but as King of Emuren.

The Elemuren is a traditional son of Oba Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife to whom he owes the origin of his crown (see page 47 Obaship and Chieftancy by E. Alademomi Kenyo). The Elerunwon of Erunwon near Ijebu Ode has been wearing beaded crown in his settlement since about 1445 A.D. before the Ajalorun finally arrived in Idofe, Oke Ife, about 1450 A.D. i.e 20 years before Obanta arrived in Ijebu in 1470 A.D.

The Intelligence Report of May 1943 by T. B. Bowell-Jones, District Officer (Special Duty) para. 35B Ijebu Ode Villages, admit that the Elerunwon left Ile Ife with the Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife, first settling at Imewuro in the Ilugun Area, then at Idorunwon and Iwaye in the same area, thence to Idotun near Isonyin and finally to Erunwon, where the Ifa oracle was consulted with favourable results; the Ajalorun was the elder brother and that Obanta had not yet arrived in Ijebu Ode.

🚢 LEKKI PORT CONTINUES TO REACH NEW & EXCITING MILESTONES! 🌊

Lekki Port, Nigeria’s most modern and deepest seaport, has successfully berthed the MAERSK EDIRNE, a 13,092 TEUs vessel. This is the largest container vessel, to ever berth in Nigeria till date.

The container vessel docked at Lekki Port at 14.42 hours on Sunday January 21, 2024.

🌍✨The MAERSK EDIRNE is one of 13 large container vessels which form the new CMA CGM WAX service that will operate along key locations including Xiamen, Qingdao, Shanghai, Singapore, Lekki Port, and Abidjan.

📆⚓️ This marks a pivotal moment in our maritime history as Lekki Port proudly joins the esteemed CMA CGM West Africa express service, as the only port in Nigeria that is in this impressive port rotation. This is a testament to Lekki Port’s capability to accommodate large container vessels, solidifying its position as a key player in global trade.

📏The MAERSK EDIRNE is a container ship with a length overall (LOA) of 366 meters and a width of 48 meters.🌐⚓️

This is a great win for Nigeria 🇳🇬🌐and the beginning of a new era of maritime excellence. 🎉 🚢

Stay tuned for weekly calls of 13,000/14,000 TEUs vessels! We are extremely grateful to the NPA team of pilots and other professionals who steered the vessel safely to berth.

The next vessel that will be calling at Lekki Port is the magnificent CMA CGM SCANDOLA, an LNG powered vessel with a carrying capacity of 14,000 TEUs, on January 29.
