Snail farming is the new goldmine. It's the best livestock rearing in the sense that it's easy to manage and inexpensive to feed. The truth still remains that only half a handful of Nigerians are aware that snails can be housed and trained or reared.


The snail meat can be said to be the best meat due to the fact that it's one of the few animals with super protein with no fat content. It's known to be helpful in combating anaemia (low blood level), asthma and several other health conditions. Snail's slime is used for creams and medicines.


The most beautiful truth is that snail has a fantastic market which the present snail farmers and villagers who pick snails from the forest cannot meet. The appetite and awareness for snail is increasing by the minute in Nigeria and thus the need to make your snail farm and make cool cash.


It'll also be nice to inform you that in as much as snail is one of the easiest livestock to rear it is also the most expensive in the market due to its diverse values and usefulness.


I've been a snail farmer for sometime and it's such a great business. It's return is huge. You can start a small farm with just 300 pieces of snails, you are sure getting nothing less than 10,000 snails in a year.... Selling those 10,000 snail will give so much cash.


It's the right way to follow, especially, now that the business has not been flooded with farmers.
