Monfeels: I want to share my problem with you guys in the hopes that maybe I'll get some good advice or at least some insight into my problem.
When people first meet me their impression of me is that I'm good looking, cool and intelligent. Most girls usually assume that I have a girlfriend or a legion of side chicks that I Bleep whenever I want to.
The truth about me is that I've never been in a proper relationship with another woman before. All I've had is sexual partners that I stop talking to after I have sex with them, and girls I get intimate with just to control them and get them to fulfil my desire of having a female to own, please me and do my biding, and then I get bored of them and cease contact and move on like I never knew them.
The reason for this behavior is that I don't possess the emotional resources needed to engage in a healthy relationship with another human being. I have no empathy and I usually feel no guilt or remorse for my actions. It's impossible for me to care genuinely for another person. I don't feel people's pain or suffering and I'm not moved by the death of family members or friends. I simply do not care for any other person but myself. I've been this way for a very long time. I lack the ability to maintain relationships with people hence why I lose friends often. Relationships are usually a means to an end for me and when that end is met, I become irritated by the person I've gotten close to.
Despite the fact that I don't see the point in relationships, I still find that I get jealous of couples in healthy relationships. It's not like I want to experience what they experience, just that I am envious of the fact that they are participating in something I can't participate in.
When I find a girl that I want to get close to, I'm usually consumed with jealousy over her previous relationships, and over any current relationship she has with any member of the opposite sex, even if it's merely platonic. All I want is for her to devote all her time to me and shower me with attention and love. The problem with all this is that I don't want to reciprocate this behavior. In fact the idea of devoting attention to, and showering affection on someone else irritates me. It's all pointless, but I enjoy when it's done to me.
Another weird side to all this is that I don't just want to control the girl, I also enjoy making her feel bad, but in a way that makes her crave for me more. I enjoy poking holes in herself esteem, making her second guess the presumably good qualities she thought she possesed, making her not feel wanted by me, and making her do more to please me.
I don't love women, I only become obsessed with them. Obsessed to the point that I'm constantly tortured by thoughts of them being sexual with another guy especially when it's someone she has dated before. I want her all to myself and even if she had sex with someone before I met her or before we became close, I am filled with anger and jealousy whenever the thought crosses my mind, and I want to punish her for that. It's like I want to erase her past and replace it with me. I want to be all she's ever had. I don't want anyone else in her life and I don't want anyone else in her past.
All this must sound crazy to you guys but this is my reality and it's eating me up. I need advice.

The government has been pressing for a bonanza from mostly untapped gas reserves found by the Exxon-led (XOM.N), opens new tab group. The consortium, which includes Hess Corp (HES.N), opens new tab and CNOOC Ltd (0883.HK), opens new tab, is required under its production agreement to return to the government by October about 20% of its massive Stabroek block if that area remains undeveloped.
Exxon has said it hopes to complete an appraisal of the gas findings by early next year and is considering how to best commercialize the natural gas. An October deadline for relinquishing untapped gas areas may require it to make a decision sooner.
That 20% of the undeveloped Stabroek area might include the group's Haimara discovery, where it mostly found natural gas, Guyana Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo said on Thursday during a media briefing in Georgetown.
"We have had some discussions with Exxon and told them that if they are not going to work on it, they have to relinquish. They did some studies and said they might be able to move forward with the project," Jagdeo said.
Exxon is in discussions with Guyana over what areas will be relinquished and has not concluded whether the gassy areas are among them, a company spokesperson said. The consortium’s exploration agreement runs through 2027, the spokesperson added.
Haimara, the group's 12th finding of oil and gas in the country, was announced in 2019. Exxon has said the Haimara-1 well found approximately 207 feet (63 meters) of a high-quality, gas-condensate bearing sandstone reservoir.
There could be up to 16 trillion cubic feet of associated gas in Exxon's areas, Jagdeo said, citing Exxon accounts.
He had said in February that Guyana wanted another international developer to participate in developing the gas project. Guyana is moving ahead to select a company that could develop the project, which it estimates will require between $10 billion and $15 billion in investment.
"We tested the market. We went out for expressions of interest and had some really good, strong firms with good credentials saying, 'We believe there is a viable project and we want to work on it,'" he added, without identifying the firms.
The cabinet must approve the company selected and once approved, that firm would be cleared to initiate talks with Exxon over a project to monetize the gas reserves.

Although this studied essential oils, it's possible for peppermint leaves to have similar effects.
Because of peppermint's invigorating abilities, it can help push off mid-day fatigue and get us through the day. Although more testing is needed, many people have experienced greater concentration abilities later in the day using peppermint.
- Help with Nausea and Vomiting
Motion sickness affects millions of people; some will experience nausea from driving, seeing certain images, or sea sickness. Some researchers have used peppermint aromatherapy to combat postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in test participants.
They discovered that when combined with controlled breathing, peppermint aromatherapy can help relieve symptoms of nausea. More testing is needed, but some believe the smell of peppermint can deter the body from experiencing nausea or vomiting. This may come in handy on public transit or the water, and peppermint may help prevent PONV.
On the other hand, peppermint may also cause nausea as a side effect, depending on the person. Peppermint can react with stomach acid and cause abdominal pains or nausea if consumed on an empty stomach or if there are preexisting intolerances or allergies.
- Fights Cold and Infections
Many people use aromatic herbs like peppermint leaves as herbal medicine to fight colds and infections. Peppermint has several antibacterial and antifungal properties, which means it can fight against certain germs and illnesses, like the common cold.

"Unexpected Connection Between Menthol And Alzheimer's Discovered in Mice" HEALTH 17 May 2024 By DAVID NIELD
A recent study reports something strange: When mice with Alzheimer's disease inhale menthol, their cognitive abilities improve. It seems the chemical compound can stop some of the damage done to the brain that's usually associated with the disease.
In particular, researchers noticed a reduction in the interleukin-1-beta (IL-1β) protein, which helps to regulate the body's inflammatory response – a response that can offer natural protection but one that leads to harm when it's not controlled properly.
The team behind the study, published in April 2023, says it shows the potential for particular smells to be used as therapies for Alzheimer's. If we can figure out which odors cause which brain and immune system responses, we can harness them to improve health.
"We have focussed on the olfactory system's role in the immune and central nervous systems, and we have confirmed that menthol is an immunostimulatory odor in animal models," said immunologist Juan José Lasarte from the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) in Spain when the results were released.
"But, surprisingly, we observed that short exposures to this substance for six months prevented cognitive decline in the mice with Alzheimer's and, what is most interesting, also improved the cognitive ability of healthy young mice."
Having previously observed menthol inhalation boosting the immune response of mice, here the team showed that it could also improve the animals' cognitive abilities, as observed in a series of practical tests in the lab.
In mice with Alzheimer's, the course of menthol for a six-month-long period was enough to stop the cognitive abilities and memory capabilities of the mice from deteriorating. In addition, it appears menthol pushed the IL-1β protein back to safe levels in the brain.
When researchers artificially reduced the number of T regulatory (Treg) cells – known to help keep the immune system in check – some of the same effects were observed, opening a possible route that future treatments could take.
"Both menthol exposure and Treg cell blockade caused a decrease in IL-1β, a protein that could be behind the cognitive decline observed in these models," said neuroscientist Ana Garcia-Osta from CIMA.
"In addition, the specific blockade of this protein with a drug used in treating some autoimmune diseases also improved the cognitive capacity of healthy mice and mice with Alzheimer's."
Scientists have already established numerous links between smells and our immune and nervous systems. These relationships are difficult to fully understand, but we know that our olfactory system can strongly influence the brain. Certain smells may trigger certain responses in the brain, leading to chemical reactions that affect memory, emotion, and more.
Indeed, diseases related to the central nervous system – such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and schizophrenia – often come with a loss of smell. This new research adds some promising data, but plenty more is needed in humans as well as mice.
"This study is an important step toward understanding the connection between the immune system, the central nervous system, and smell," said immunologist Noelia Casares from CIMA.
"The results suggest that odors and immune modulators may play an important role in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's and other diseases related to the central nervous system."
The research has been published in Frontiers in Immunology.

Brexit has cost the UK £140bn so far, according to new analysis, and could see the nation £311bn worse off by the middle of the next decade, according to a new report.
Economists and analysts at Cambridge Econometrics - commissioned by London's mayor, Sadiq Khan - have modelled how the UK's economy would have acted were it still in the European Union.
This was compared to data published by the Office for Budget of Responsibility in March 2023, and forecasts based on those data. Those official forecasts have since been downgraded as of November last year.
The headline findings from the report include lower growth, lower employment, strong negative impacts on investment, imports falling more than exports, and a growing gap between London and the rest of the UK.
The report analysed the gross value added - GVA - which is a measure of how much value is added by an area through the production of goods and the actions of services.
Cambridge Econometrics says it found UK GVA was £2,207bn in 2023 under current circumstances, and will be £2,771bn by 2035.
But without Brexit, the organisation states the UK would have had a GVA of £2,347bn in 2023, and it would have reached £3,082bn by 2035.
This equates to GVA being 6% lower in 2023 than it would have been without Brexit, and 10.1% lower in 2035.
They found that, by 2035, the UK is anticipated to have three million fewer jobs, 32% lower investment, 5% lower exports and 16% lower imports, than it would have had if the UK had not left the EU.
Cambridge Econometrics also found Brexit is expected to cause the productivity gap between London and the rest of the UK to widen further.
The scenario which included the UK in the EU used an E3ME model, which is used transnationally for forecasting. It includes data from UN, OECD, World Bank, IMF, the ONS and Eurostat.
The report says it tried to "isolate and subtract" the "Brexit effect" from factors like trade and investment in the main scenario - which it says is "effectively modelling a scenario in which other factors (eg, the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine) took place but Brexit did not".

The Zimbabwean dollar, on Tuesday, weakened to over 10,160 against the US dollar in the spot market.
The depreciation is the first time since the currency was reintroduced in 2019.
According to a Bloomberg report, though being a millionaire would be great news for most people, in Zimbabwe it underpins the country’s economic woes.
The decline means that anyone in the country with $100 is now a millionaire in local currency terms.
The Zimbabwean dollar remained just below that level at 9,973, according to data posted on the country’s central bank’s website.
The local unit, according to the report, has lost almost 40 percent of its value against the dollar on the official market so far this year — making it the worst-performing currency in the world.
The parallel market rate also surpassed the milestone — trading at between Z$12,000 to Z$14,000 according to ZimPriceCheck.com, a website that monitors both official and parallel exchange rates in the country.
