MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The former Minneapolis police officer who kneeled on George Floyd's back while another officer kneeled on the Black man's neck was sentenced Friday to 3 1/2 years in prison.

J. Alexander Kueng pleaded guilty in October to a state count of aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter. In exchange, a charge of aiding and abetting murder was dropped. Kueng is already serving a federal sentence for violating Floyd's civil rights, and the state and federal sentences will be served at the same time.
I would have liked to see a stiffer sentencing... Anyways, justice served!

The U.S. will likely tumble into a "mild" recession next year that sees unemployment top 5%, according to a new report from Citi Global Wealth Investments.

The group said in its latest outlook report published this week that the economy could lose an estimated 2 million jobs in 2023 as the jobless rate climbs to 5.25%.

"We believe that the Fed’s rate hikes and shrinking bond portfolio have been stringent enough to cause an economic contraction within 2023," the economists said in the report. "And if the Fed does not pause rate hikes until it sees the contraction, a deeper recession may ensue."

BlackRock, the world's biggest asset manager
says to get ready for a recession unlike any other.

BlackRock said that the global economy has entered a period of high volatility, and previous investment approaches will no longer work.

According to money managers, a recession is imminent, but central banks will not be able to support the markets by loosening policy this time.
BlackRock strategists said, “The recession has been predicted as central banks race to contain inflation. This is in stark contrast to past recessions.”
It's expected... Brace up.

US government scientists have made a breakthrough in the pursuit of limitless, zero-carbon power by achieving a net energy gain in a fusion reaction for the first time, according to three people with knowledge of preliminary results from a recent experiment.

Physicists have since the 1950s sought to harness the fusion reaction that powers the sun, but no group had been able to produce more energy from the reaction than it consumes — a milestone known as net energy gain or target gain, which would help prove the process could provide a reliable, abundant alternative to fossil fuels and conventional nuclear energy.
That's truly awesome! Another giant leap for mankind.

I didn't go digging nothing. You came here with Slyfoxxjoe account and that was one of your first topics on your account.

I see you have deleted the account but how did 2015 when you were applying for the program become 10 years ago. Let's say you got into the program in 2016, that's 6 years ago

So between then and now, what year did you go through the undergrad, then MBA, and how did your family afford JBS MBA (currently £78k) as you just attested, while you are applying for N10m Youwin scheme (then £20k).

Noting it takes 4 years to complete undergrad and MBA and you were rejected for the MBA twice, extending the timeline to 6 years.

Your story isn't stacking up brev, but maybe you have a plausible timeline.

None of the above are achievements. Like I said, any fool can get into JBS MBA. I know because my colleague with 2.1 from Uni of West of England did. You sound cowered by the work experience part which any professional should have naturally. And then you are giving away a low achiever vibe by making out as if hustling for a 2.1 in BA was a big struggle, not even a STEM degree oh. Like I said, getting into Ivy league for MBA is not impressive, getting into Ivy league for undergrad is.
CultureRe: The Rift Between African-Americans And Recent African Immigrants To The US by AlphaTaikun:
Pg1. OP. 2020
There is a huge chasm between African-Americans and African immigrants in the United States. That chasm has widened over the years. It has caused deep animosity between many African-Americans and their African immigrant cousins.

The chasm has prevented African-Americans from participating in the current economic boom in Africa and it has shut many African immigrants out of opportunities for economic advancement here in the United States.

The problem stems from deep misconceptions, sometimes fueled by the U.S. media. Astonishingly, many African-Americans believe that Africans are backward and primitive. Some make crude jokes about Africans or do not acknowledge the great contribution Africa has made to the world.

For their part, many African immigrants buy into the erroneous notion that African-Americans are lazy and violent.

They do not appreciate the great sacrifice African-Americans made, through advocating for their civil rights, to lay the foundation for Africans to be able to come to the United States and live in a country where both blacks and whites have equal rights, at least in theory if not always in practice.

The different experiences of the two groups

To understand the deep division that exists between African Americans and Africans, one first has to examine the background of the two groups.

Before migrating to the United States, most Africans have typically dealt with white Americans who went to Africa as Peace Corps volunteers, missionaries, doctors or teachers. These Americans acted as mentors and guardians to the Africans and developed positive relationships with them.

When they come to the United States, it has been my experience that Africans can easily identify with white Americans because they understand each other. Before migrating to the United States, the majority of Africans have had little to no direct negative experiences with whites. They simply do not hate them.

On the other hand, most African-Americans grew up in black neighborhoods where they learned from older generations the history of slavery and the cruelty it inflicted on the black race. Furthermore, they have usually experienced firsthand and in their communities the legacies of racism that still exist in the United States.

With this background, many African-Americans are not generally predisposed to trust white Americans, and they look down on those African immigrants who express respect or admiration for white Americans.

How they react to racism and discrimination

A fundamental difference between African Americans and African immigrants is the way they react to racism and discrimination.

African Americans usually see racism as the main cause of poverty among their people. They are also quick to point out instances of perceived racism, even in circumstances where it is ambiguous, unclear or more complex than simple racial bigotry or discrimination.

A classic example is the currently large African-American population in prison. Most African-Americans feel that the only reason there are so many African Americans incarcerated is their race. They blame police discrimination and lawmakers who make laws weighted to punish blacks.

For Africans, after suffering many years in civil wars, military coups and other problems, they are happy to be in a country that offers them freedom. They are ready to integrate into the American culture without getting involved in the lingering racial conflicts. They do not typically get involved in the ongoing civil rights struggle – and that has angered many African-Americans.

How they react to adversity

Perhaps the greatest difference I have seen between African immigrants and African-Americans is how they react to adversity.

Most African immigrants to the United States came here for economic advancement. They do not have any political agenda. They are willing to take any job and do not blame the “system” when they fail in their endeavors.

Most African immigrants to the United States often live in mixed neighborhoods instead of black neighborhoods and they easily integrate. African immigrants know who they are. They are not easily offended when someone tries to put them down. They know where they come from and why they are here.

For African-Americans, there is often a tendency to blame slavery for most of the problems they face today. For instance, when African American students fail in school, some educators blame slavery and do not look for other factors.

However, the time has come for African Americans to realize that while racism still persists, the best thing they can do for their children is to teach them to take full responsibility for their actions. Fathers need to take care of their children and young women need to stay in school instead of having children.

It is only when black people, be they from Africa or America, unite to instill discipline and respect for each other that the chasm that has divided us will narrow. Then we can finally work together to remove poverty from our people both here in the United States and Africa.

Source: https://www.theglobalist.com/african-americans-african-immigrants-differ/
When you read about the history of segregation, red lines separating neighborhoods, the one-drop rule, plantation slavery, the Great Migration, the evolution of
African-American vernacular English, public lynchings of innocent Black folks by whites, Vietnam War's American casualties and vets, 2 million Americans currently in jails, welfare, etc, then you'll understand the African-American experience better as a Continental African immigrant in the U.S.

Empathy and respect are required by both sides for sustainable personal/economic growth and development. Period.

RUSSIA

RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR
UKRAINE

ABRAHAM LINCOLN

During the early years of America's Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln sought a limited conflict against people he still regarded as fellow countrymen and with whom he sought reconciliation. Only after three years of stalemate did he turn to "Unconditional Surrender Grant," who in turn unleashed General William Tecumseh Sherman to "make Georgia howl" and help bring the war to its decisively violent conclusion.

Russian President Vladimir Putin waited only six months before switching from a special military operation to full scale war against Ukraine. Putin's initial assault was limited to barely 150,000 troops. He expected a quick victory followed by negotiations on his principal concerns: Russian control of Crimea, Ukrainian neutrality, and autonomy for the Russian population in the Donbas, but he was wrong. Putin had not counted on Ukraine's stiff resistance or the West's massive military and economic intervention. Faced with a new situation, Putin changed his strategy. Now he is about to unleash his own General Sherman and make Ukraine howl.

Last month Putin gave General Sergey Surovikin overall command of Russia's war in the Ukraine. Surovikin comes from the technologically sophisticated Aerospace Forces, but has fought on the ground in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and Syria where he is credited with saving the Assad regime. Surovikin has stated publicly that there will be no half measures in Ukraine. Instead, he has begun to methodically destroy Ukraine's infrastructure with precision missile attacks.

Armies need railroads and while Sherman systematically tore up the tracks leading to Atlanta, Surovikin is destroying the electricity grid which powers Ukrainian railroads. This has left Ukrainian cities cold and dark, but Surovikin seems to agree with Sherman that "war is cruelty, and you cannot refine it."

Russia has now put its economy on a war footing, called up the reserves, and assembled hundreds of thousands of troops, including both conscripts and volunteers. This army is equipped with Russia's most sophisticated weapons, and contrary to much Western reporting, is far from demoralized. Ukraine on the other hand has exhausted its armories and is totally dependent on Western military support to continue the war. As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley noted last week, Ukraine has done about all it can.

Once Ukraine's rich black soil has firmly frozen, a massive Russian onslaught will commence. In fact, it has already begun at the important transportation hub of Bakhmut, which has become something of a Ukrainian Verdun. We expect Bakhmut to fall and predict that without much more Western support, Russia will recapture Kharkov, Kherson, and the remainder of the Donbas by next summer.

As the West did in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq, we are stumbling into another optional, open-ended military commitment. Ukrainian troops are being trained in Europe. Western defense contractors are already maintaining Ukrainian military equipment and operating the HIMAR missile systems. Active-duty American military personnel are now in Ukraine to monitor weapons deliveries. As the Russian offensive gains momentum, we expect loud voices to call for sending ever-more advanced weapons and eventually NATO boots on the ground to defend Ukraine. These voices should be unambiguously rejected for many reasons. Here are a few.

Generations of Western leaders worked successfully to avoid direct military conflict with the Soviet Union. They recognized that, unlike Moscow, the West has very little strategic interest in who controls Donetsk. They were certainly unwilling to risk a nuclear war for Kharkiv. Ukraine is not a member of NATO, and the alliance has no obligation to defend it. Nor has Putin threatened any NATO member, but he has made clear that any foreign troops entering Ukraine will be treated as enemy combatants. Sending NATO troops into the Ukraine would thus turn our proxy war with Russia into a real war with the world's largest nuclear power.

Some have presented this conflict as a morality play, between good and evil, but the reality is more complex. Ukraine is no flourishing democracy. It is an impoverished, corrupt, one-party state with extensive censorship, where opposition newspapers and political parties have been shut down. Before the war, far right Ukrainian nationalist groups like the Azov Brigade were soundly condemned by the U.S. Congress. Kiev's determined campaign against the Russian language is analogous to the Canadian government trying to ban French in Quebec. Ukrainian shells have killed hundreds of civilians in the Donbas and there are emerging reports of Ukrainian war crimes. The truly moral course of action would be to end this war with negotiations rather than prolong the suffering the Ukrainian people in a conflict they are unlikely to win without risking American lives.

And then there is always the unexpected turn of events where tensions in one region compound and spill over into another. There is a growing possibility of Iran launching a preemptive military strike on Israel. The revolutionary regime in Iran is facing an increasingly serious popular revolt. A new government in Israel is determined to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. The JCPOA is dying and with it any hope of sanctions relief for Iran's failing economy. A war would unite Iran's population in a patriotic struggle, damage Israel's ability to strike Iran, and pressure the West to negotiate an end to sanctions.

There is little doubt that the United States would be drawn into any conflict between Israel and Iran. What worries us is that Iran has been supplying Russia with weapons for the war in Ukraine and Moscow might feel obliged to come to the aid of its allies in Tehran. That sort of domino effect is precisely what started the First World War. Who expected that the assassination of an Austrian grand duke by a Serbian anarchist in Bosnia would lead to thousands of Americans dying in France? We do not need a replay.

Perhaps we are wrong. Perhaps there will not be a Russian winter offensive or perhaps the Ukrainian armed forces will be able to stop it. However, if we are correct and February finds General Surovikin at the gates of Kiev, we need to have soberly considered and honestly debated as a nation and an alliance the extent of our commitment to Ukraine and what risks we are willing accept to our own security.

Insightful... But then the historical war-time variables in the U.S. Civil War and Ukraine are vastly different in terms of the sophisticated use of advance weapons vs pre-1900 canons and bayonet rifles.

China to use Shanghai exchange for yuan energy deals with Gulf nations - Xi

China's President Xi Jinping said in Riyadh on Friday that China and Gulf nations should make full use of the Shanghai Petroleum and National Gas Exchange as a platform to carry out yuan settlement of oil and gas trade.

China and states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are natural partners for cooperation, Xi said in a speech at the China-GCC summit.

"China will continue to import large quantities of crude oil from GCC countries, expand imports of liquefied natural gas, strengthen cooperation in upstream oil and gas development, engineering services, storage, transportation and refining, and make full use of the Shanghai Petroleum and National Gas Exchange as a platform to carry out yuan settlement of oil and gas trade," he said.
We'll see how this pans out down the road for intra Asian big-ticket business .

You learn to live with it, since you’re not ready to leave. There’s no amount of begging and pleading that will make your husband change, he will continue to cheat, that’s a choice he has decided to make. So please stop bothering yourself over that, it’s a waste of time. Men like your husband do not change until they are 70, elderly looking with multiple health complications.

One thing about men, when you begin to give birth to their children, the way they view you changes. It’s the natural psychology of men. You become the replacement of their mother, and there’s nothing you can do to change that. You can be the sexiest woman on earth, you will always remind him of routine and stability, (aka see finish lol) it’s subconscious. They say show me the most beautiful woman in the world and I’ll show you a man who is bored of her. When I see the scrubs that men cheat with on their beautiful amazing wives, it’s quite shocking. Then you will understand the mindset of men.

It’s the grace of God that give some married men discipline, but most of them succumb to their selfish thrills and desires. Affairs give them the excitement, challenge and chase that he had when he first met you.

If you’re not ready to leave, I say focus on yourself and look the other way. Wear condoms to protect yourself and empower your mind with positive and exciting things. Take care of yourself and be the source of your happiness. Your husband is not your God, he is not your Life. Do not revolve your life around him. Be at peace, you cannot force or control another human being to do what you want them to do. I personally think you need to leave him, he will destroy you and turn you into a shadow of yourself if you do not , but that’s left for you to decide. Good luck.
That's really deep!

try it first and see the problems it will bring to your home. Never ever bring your mother to live in your marital home… it is very wrong! Your wife shouldn’t try the same too. They can visit, but they can’t stay. If your mother is sick, siblings should work together to get the best possible treatment for her. Wife can also put in her judgement and help. But it is wrong for a mother to pack her load into her child’s marital home, unless it’s a critical life and death situation and she has no where else to go.
If the house is big enough with many rooms, then you can bring any of your aged parents in, and employ the services of a domestic help or a care-giver. Better still rent a house nearby and get a domestic help to assist and keep the
pressures of daily living down.

African and Asian societies have always been communal with folks living together in separate wings of large family compounds which the
Yorubas for instance call "agbo ile," unlike in the West where folks are largely aloof and keep their aged parents in old people's homes. This is where a culture clash exists.

Dear nothings going to change.
It’s a pattern.

Do you realize that in 1984 we had regular power supply. The dollar was 1-1 Naira
Refinery NNPC worked
Streets were paved with asphalt
Population growth was in check.
Nigerian Airways was in air.
Roads and highways were lined.

There were no touts and Agberos.

There were no kidnappers or rapists in abundance.
I have been in and out of the country.

We lack a maintenance mentality.
There is no continuance culture .
We do not fix things we migrate .
All those edifices built will be harboured by squatters in 10 years.
Those who can’t bear are leaving and those of us that can will stay and hope.
How's it going Rickleye?

You are largely correct historically there, because I flew on board domestic and international Nigeria Airways flights back in the day, but...

There were Agberos back in the 1970s and the early 1980s. Agbero is a contraction of the terms: "agbe and ero," and it simply means "to carry passengers" in the Yoruba language. In full Yoruba, it means: "awon to n gbe ero."

Agbe (to carry).
Ero (passengers).

Agbero is the Yoruba word for the members of the national transport union who are legitimately
registered with the Corporate
Affairs Commission, and all are members of the Nigerian Labor Congress. Legit Agberos who wear the Transport Union uniforms exist all over the Nigerian states. The violent ones are the economic migrants who go to the big cities to hustle and pretend to be real Agberos, when infact they don't wear Transport Union uniforms and are illegal touts and "omo itas" who just harass people.

"Omo ita" (a street gang member) in Yoruba language is NOT the same as Agbero but some people who don't speak or understand Yoruba just mangle or mix the two words and end up sounding stupidly pathetic.

Some weeks ago, this thread titled: "Not All 30yrs Old Ladies Were Approached By Serious Men In Their 20's" graced the Nairaland front page.

Here is a link to the thread: https://www.nairaland.com/7368480/not-all-30yrs-old-ladies

It is highly impossible that averagely pretty and above-average pretty ladies didn't meet serious men in their 20s. It is not possible. The problem with many ladies is that they have a very poor selection and also have a very bad attitude that chases good men away.

I am going to share my recent experience with 3 ladies and why I decided to walk away.

Lady 1: I had been chatting with this lady on Twitter without asking for her number. It has been on and off for more than one year. So about 3 months ago, I decided to ask for her number, which she delayed but later gave it on the same day.

For the records, this lady is pretty, she looks very much like Rita Dominic, very striking resemblance. Just to give you an idea that she is pretty.

We chatted a few times and then I decided to call. The first two were brief but the 3rd was much longer and somewhat boring because I was doing most of the topic or angle infusion, more like I was the one bringing up topics to sustain the interactions.

Before that 3rd call, I sent an SMS to ask if she was still at work and she replied to the SMS and said she was still at work. So I had to wait for about 1 hour before I called.

After the call, I texted her to say she has a good voice. I asked whether she sings or loves singing. It was just an innocent question borne out of curiosity because I could imagine she is a good singer with such a voice

She didn't reply to the SMS. Of course, I expected that, knowing how ladies behave over something as simple as that. While on Twitter, I asked whether she got the SMS, and she said that she saw it but didn't have airtime to reply lol...

That was a lie of course. I wonder why she would lie, perhaps she wanted to "form" or what? Ma'am, it was just a simple curious question.

I decided to take a stroll to her profile that same day and there I saw what completely turned me off. On her profile, she said people think she enjoys calls but she does not want calls and that they will think chatting her up on WhatsApp is better but she does not enjoy that either.

If that is the case, why give your number out? Why not isolate yourself from people entirely so that no one interacts with you? Are you better than those who took out time to spend it with you via calls?

I interpreted her mentality and worldview as someone who feels too important and does appreciate the effort of people who try to reach out to her or interact.

On seeing that, It was disappointing to note what she thought of others who called or chatted her up, I mean these are people's time that can't be gotten back lol.

Lady 2: This one is from Twitter as well. We started talking from a thread and I decided to DM her. I liked her energy. She was light and responsive, very open and communicative.

She started asking for my picture because I do not display my picture on Twitter. I was reluctant initially but sent it cos she persisted... after much chat, we exchanged numbers and I chatted her up on WhatsApp 2 days later. We talked about hanging out in December but she said she would be traveling to her state for the festive season.

While we were chatting, I had called before then, I simply asked whether she has entered another relationship after the last one she mentioned on Twitter.

Guess her response? she said "Do you have money to spend on my head"? For a less than 1 week interaction?

Oh, God... I knew I wouldn't want to have anything to do with this one beyond WhatsApp or Twitter. I reduced my interactions with her and it died.

For the two ladies above, I do not often remember they are on my contact anymore except when I see their status lol.

Let's move on

Lady 3: Met this one after church and we were going in the same direction. I spoke to her and we exchange numbers. We chatted, and I called. We arranged to meet up. On the day of our meeting, which was the first after that Sunday, she asked me whether I have knowledge of digital marketing or social media marketing. I said I do but it is not something that can be discussed on WhatsApp, except we meet so that I can explain it to her.

Though chatting her up was very slow as she is rarely online. She takes a few hours to reply lol.

We met and the meeting was more of a lecture with me answering all her questions. I enjoyed it anyway.

Knowing that I exchanged numbers because I was attracted to her, I had to find a way to subtly give hint. Now, here is the challenge I had. She increasingly started replying with monosyllables like "yeah", okay, no, lol, smiley ,

On noticing that, I knew it was time to exit from her life and I did.

The above 3 ladies are pretty facially and above average... With their attitude that made me leave them alone, tomorrow, they will come online to write "Not All 30yrs Old Ladies Were Approached By Serious Men In Their 20's" lol and some persons will be saying it is true blah blah...

Girls are the architect of their own misfortune. You will see a man being a decent gentleman and develop a habit that chases them away. In the same vein, they will accept the guys who do not have any good intentions toward them.

Others may believe that thread but definitely not me. I do not believe that a girl, especially the pretty ones, will live from age 1 to 30 and never come across a man with good intentions. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE!

Hi, Happy Sunday Evening To Everyone.

A few days ago, I created a thread Titled "Why I Walked Away From 3 Ladies I Had Interest In."

For Those who may have missed it, here is a link: https://www.nairaland.com/7437137/why-walked-away-3-ladies

Most people who commented on that thread were attacking me: some blamed me, some said I am impatient, others said I lack game and so many other things and a bunch of others said the girls are not into me (meaning they do not find me attractive lol). Summarily, it was my fault.

However, I left out a piece of information in all of these and that is the fact that there is one girl whom I stuck with. What this means is that I approached 4 girls, discarded 3, and stuck with 1. 2 ONLINE, and 2 OFFLINE! Please take note.

Background: I saw this girl in church as she sat behind me, like Lady 3 in the other thread, in the company of her sister. We had just closed and it was crowded. I approached her with a compliment on her outfit and told her my purpose which is to exchange contact. I gave her my iPhone to type her number. She did but not without having mine.

As I was leaving, I dialed the number so that I can have it saved later when I get home. I curiously check my call log and didn't see the number... wow...It didn't store the dialed number because there is no sim inside. It is a new phone and I only use it to browse with a router.

I quickly ran back to find her and gave her my android to type the number again. She did, I saved it there and left.

On getting home, I ate and slept off. I didn't call her either and I didn't intend to call immediately.

As soon as I woke, did a few stuff... I opened my WhatsApp. There were a few messages waiting for me and to my surprise, hers was among those. In fact, I never thought that would happen but it did.

I replied to other messages first and hers last and when I engaged her, she couldn't contain the excitement. She told me what her sister thought about me and what I did, plus expressed shock that I came back to find her again, like how did I know they were there (a different location from where we stood previously) as it is one of the biggest churches in Nigeria.

Now, here is where it got even more interesting: She was communicative, outspoken, direct, responsive, and receptive.

Thankfully, she is from my mum's state, so that helped boost the influence and reception some more.

She was just asking me questions, wanting to know a lot about me. You could really feel the desire, energy, vibes, and interest.

At some point, she asked me to send my picture... For those who thought I was some not-good-looking dude, hence the reason those ladies were probably acting that way lol.

She is pretty, much taller than our Lady 3 who was replying with one-liners, with a nice shape than lady 3 as well.

And like they say, the rest is history.

The reason why I am sharing this is that a lot of Nigerian men have been conditioned to settle for anything. Listen up, the moment you know that there are many women out there, you will never settle for anything that does not give your what you want. Having an abundance mentality (something women do not want you to have so that they can mess you up) will save you from girls with repulsive attitudes.

I am a guy who is big on communication, be free, talk to me... once it looks like I am the only one doing the work, I will pull out. I don't ever want to feel like I am forcing myself on someone because, from experience, it never ends well.

See, at no point must you be found trying to manage a relationship with any girl you just met.

Some people feel you must FIGHT to win a woman, fight to convince her, Fight to coerce her... I have done that before and it didn't end well.

Instead of trying to fight as if you are at war with yourself, why not find that one person that matches your energy and returns the vibe? Why not find that girl who is interested in you? Why not find that girl who is willing?

If a girl is not matching your energy, move on to the next one. There are too many women out there than you can handle.

Like I said in that thread, I will keep discarding these girls until I get someone who is interested in me, one who is responsive, one who is polite, friendly, receptive, communicative, and willing. And just because my relationship with this current girl started on a good note does not mean it will end well. It could go North or South, but my point is that I would only go for someone that is friendlier, polite, and open.

Now look at the stat: I approach 4, I discarded 3 for a reason, and I stuck with one. Women are quick to discard a guy, why shouldn't I be allowed to do that?

Women are always keeping their options open, even while in a relationship... so why should you be sticking to just one girl?

I am not saying that you should be sleeping with many girls. I don't do that either but my point is to have as many options as possible. It helps and once a girl knows there are other girls fighting for your attention, your value in her eyes will increase but the opposite is the case if you stick to just one or making look like she is the only one in your life. When you do that, you are likely to get dumped.

The street is brutal, stay vigilant.
RomanceRe: Update: Why I Stuck With This Girl, After Walking Away From 3 Other Ladies. by AlphaTaikun: 6:50am On Dec 11, 2022
Dailyparrot:
I responded to your first post and I'm going to respond to this one too.

You only ended up confirming exactly what you were told on the previous thread.

Firstly, the girl has to be into you. This is the first step towards dealing with a girl. It does not matter whether the girl is beautiful or not, or has a higher class or not, she just has to have some level of likeness for you. This is where girls get it better than guys. A girl will rather follow an Okada rider that likes her than a banker that tolerates her presence.

Unfortunately, most girls definition of likeness is someone that can spend on them or tolerate their bullshit which most classed men can't.

You met her in church. This is the catch. I told you on the other thread to always define what you want whenever you get connected with a girl. That girl may be loyal and communicative simply because she's looking for a husband. A 25 years old university graduate is more likely to be open in conversation with you than a 21 year old 200 level undergraduate.

She wants something which she cannot make open to you now, but her actions and body language should be able to tell you that if you are smart.

It is now left for you to know exactly what you want and determine the level of commitment you put in the situationship. I ghost a lot of girls that I know that are desperate for marriage when I know I have zero interest to marry them. They want the relationship to follow the prolonged process of dating, courting, and all which I'm not game for since I know it would be wasting my resources for nothing.

I can pay for transport for a girl that I want to marry to come from Anambra to Lagos to see me since it would entail us studying each other for future purposes, but I can't try that for a girl I have the intention to sex only.

So, define your intention within you and that will guide your commitment level. When purpose is not defined, abuse is inevitable.

And if you must know, the more good looking you are, the less serious ladies take you. I'm a victim.

The street is truly brutal and this is a game. You have to understand it and play it well. Some ladies can take you unserious simply because they feel your class is higher than theirs and you can't want something serious from them other than their pussy. So, you should also look at the class of girls you follow if they match your class. Ladies suffer from inferiority complex as much as guys. If you truly like a girl and want to prove to her that irrespective of her class, body type, etc., you still want her, then you will have to be patient to prove that to her and not just act so hastily in discarding her. Then again, it depends on what you want from the girls. Are you looking for a wife, a girlfriend, a sexmate, a chatbuddy, a friend with benefits, etc. Define what exactly you are looking for and express that when interacting with the ladies so your message will be well received and they will act accordingly if they feel they are in for whatever you want. You'd be surprised that a girl who would accept to fu^k you will never accept to marry you. So if you approach such girl with a marriage vibe, she will ghost you.

I pray this one ends well. Hopefully, you don't get surprises when you finally find out the reason for this uncanny friendliness unusual of a typical Nigeria girl.

Now I may trust myself to make it work against all odds but you never know with the other person If they'll be willing to make it work.

With the kind of human beings around these days, it's not encouraging to me at all.

I like my space and peace of mind.
No need to fear babe, be open to love because there are men out there for you in their late 30s and over 40 who still want their own biological kids.

Thoughts become reality. I assume you are not over 35, or not over 40 max?

Those who are married are not 100% Happy. So it's not marriage that gives happiness. In fact, many of them will tell you they lost their happiness after marriage.

Marriage is a whole lot of responsibility that demands a lot from you. It's not like what you see in zeeworld. That is why many get disappointed because they go in with unrealistic expectations.

Just continue living your best life. If marriage comes, fine. if not, life goes on.
For me, I can't be bothered as long as God is taking care of me and I'm comfortable. what more can one possibly ask for in life?

I don't think the marriage thing is a male / responsibility factor...you need to see the level of toxic feminism the average young woman out there has... so entitled, proud and shallow. (No bashing sisters) but if you want to marry in this tough country and times, pls learn the act of being peaceful and making your personal space a comfort zone - No man will devalue a woman who gives him peace not for anything.

Please learn from ur mothers
Being disrespectful doesn't make you woke

Being rude and arrogant doesn't make you woke.
Being woke is being progressively informed.

Sex is not a man's critical need, respect is.

When in Rome behave like the romans. It’s usually the ladies who cry more. They are used to men toasting them or passing comments daily/ weekly. All of a sudden no one is doing that in Canada. So they begin to ask themselves am i no fine againhuh. They mostly stay indoors during winter instead of networking, learning ice skating, skiing, go watch basketball or hockey. Whose fault is that if not yourshuh. Some of them set unrealistic standards and when they get left behind or aged, like a friend of mine who is looking for an igbo man from imo state who is also a catholic since 2019 ( sister where you wan see am). They begin to lament and cry loneliness.

For guys too, all your life it’s money’s u use to catch babes you now came to where the opposite sex get money then you can’t evolvehuh So guys tried dating apps for like a month and quit cos them no get patience or game. Then begin to lament

Some people ( both sexes) too are depressed from the multiple bills. You earn 80k gross but you live in a 2000 dols condo with a 2021 benz costing you over 1500 in car note and insurance. After all you bills na 100 dols remain.

On a final note, these set of people complaining should relocate back to Nigeria or elsewhere and stop disturbing us. Mtcheeew

Flexibility is key for immigrants in any country such as Canada or the U.S.

Do NOT reinvent the wheel and take more advice from those who live in these countries before leaving Nigeria or Ghana, etc.
TravelRe: One Too Many Stories Of Loneliness And Disillusion In Canada: Way Forward by AlphaTaikun: 8:14pm On Dec 10, 2022
CountVersailles:
There have been one too many stories of loneliness and disillusion among many Nigerian immigrants in Canada. The story is usually that these people were once super excited as they left Nigeria, only to arrive in Canada and start feeling disillusioned after a few months. What exactly is responsible for this? I will tell you.

The first is too much expectation. Many of these people are just so full of expectation. They are like the proverbial virgin who has been looking forward to sex all her life only to experience it and see that nothing dey there. Too much expectation is not good in anything, least of all Canada. You want to emigrated permanently to Canada and you are already thinking about all the fun you will have that you never had in Nigeria. How is that even possible? How does a crocodile become an alligator simply because it swam to the far end of the pond? Haba! Make una dey cool down. You guys need to temper your expectation. Canada is not heaven, even though it is way better than Nigeria. There are challenges in Canada too like there are in every single country of the world. People are also poor and suffering. You can easily become one of them when you come here. Nothing says you will suddenly achieve all that lost potential from Nigeria. So, make una dey calm down. Canada is not heaven and never think that leaving Nigeria for Canada makes your challenges any less.

Having said that, it must be said that Canada is also way better than Nigeria and provides you more opportunity, especially in the area of work. THat’ what I will talk about next.

Many of these people who complain are also poor. They are often underemployed, having left their cushy jobs in Nigeria to come and be cleaning tables in Canada. But the problem here lies squarely with them. You find that many of them are absolutely unwilling to educate themselves or to upskill in a competitive society like Canada. They think their Nigerian experience and certificate is sufficient. While this is true in some cases, in many cases it’s not. Recruiters will overlook you once they see any element of Nigeria in your CV. But you can make it better. If you are a permanent resident, the country makes it very easy for you to acquire new skills. The only problem is that many of these people don’t even want to near school ever again. How do you expect to get a good job? If you can’t upskill, I’m sorry for you. You will spend a long time in that survival job.

Some of the skills that are so easy to gain these days are around business analysis, data science, or financial analysis. So easy to master these skills or get a Canadian certificate that will show that you know something. Of course, the certificate is not enough, you still need to study because recruiters will ask you questions on the subject and not on the certificate. But at least the certificate can get you the interview, then you can show your skills.

If you don’t want to upskill, so many handyman skills are out there in the country to gain and you can make as much as white collar people. But ask my naija people na, they don’t want to become plumbers or electricians.

Complaining gets you nowhere. The loneliness in Canada is adored by some because they can live their lives without intrusion. If the loneliness is getting to you, why not just go find a wife or boyfriend? Dating apps plenty. Men are always looking for women, and vice versa. If you talk to those people who are complaining, they are also the ones who don’t like dating app. They want to meet organically. Sorry, you go dey there long o.

The solution to all these problems are out there. But if you refuse to see and instead continue complaining, you will dey there and everybody will leave you go.
Nice thread!

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/569771-judge-reveals-how-ndlea-allegedly-concealed-assets-seized-from-jailed-drug-barons.html
I remember this criminal case from 2016.

According to the NDLEA and NIA, the very useless drug barons who brought in these criminal Mexican and Colombian drug gangs to set up very toxic methamphetamine laboratories in different locations in
Ajao Estate, Satellite town, Iba New
Site, Ibeju-Lekki all in Lagos State, Asaba in Delta State, Nnewi, Ozubulu and Obosi in Anambra State, Port Harcourt in Rivers State are ALL indigenes of Anambra State!

Many of these drug criminals who flaunt money and deceive the gullible, have built mansions or leased lands in Lagos, Ogun, Abuja, Asaba, Onitsha, PH, Enugu, and their home villages in Anambra with the ill-gotten money got from destroying the lives of the youths who they channel these hard drugs to in the Unis and other higher institutions.

The death penalty MUST be applied to all these criminal drug barons via hanging, lethal injections OR the electric chair in Nigeria and elsewhere before they destroy mankind. Malaysia, Singapore, and most Asian countries don't treat drug trafficking with levity, and it's all under control. Get caught in
Singapore and face the death penalty. Period.
