Islie: 23 Nigerian Firms Earn Over $1bn Annually, Target Continental Expansion — FG by Islie(op): 11:02am By Stephen Angbulu
The Federal Government on Wednesday said Nigeria has 23 companies each generating more than $1bn in annual revenue and will seek to expand their operations across the continent at the Africa CEO Forum, holding in Kigali, the Rwandan capital.
It said this is evident as more Nigerian banks are acquiring assets in Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire, its oil firms are announcing new East African refineries, and manufacturers are opening factories in Nairobi.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, said this on Wednesday, as President Bola Tinubu arrived in Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum.
Oduwole, who spoke to journalists shortly after Tinubu landed in Rwanda on the final leg of a three-nation trip spanning Paris, Nairobi and Kigali, said the continental expansion of Nigerian businesses was concrete proof that three years of difficult macroeconomic reforms had built investor confidence sufficient to drive outward investment rather than capital flight.
She said, “We have about 23 business champions that gross over a billion dollars in revenue per annum.
“These are investors that are investing not just in Nigeria but across the continent. Zenith Bank just had an acquisition in Kenya.
“They had another acquisition last week in Côte d’Ivoire. You see Nigerian financial services, Nigerian manufacturing, Nigerian oil and gas really spreading across the continent.”
She listed Nigerian business titans who had sat alongside heads of state at the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi the day before, co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, as evidence that Nigeria’s private sector was now operating at the highest continental table.
“We had Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Dr Rabiu, Aig-Imoukhuede, Tony Elumelu, Kola Karim. These are investors that are investing not just in Nigeria. You heard Dangote’s announcement for Kenya, the commitment he has made to East Africa for another refinery there.
“We have companies like SecureID, which exports to about 22 African countries, and opened a factory in Nairobi, which I also visited earlier this week.
“So you have Nigerians scaling outside of our country. We are creating jobs elsewhere, investing, and of course remitting taxes back home.”
Oduwole argued that this was an intended outcome of the Tinubu administration and not a coincidence.
“You don’t do this when you don’t have confidence in the policies of the administration, in how the macroeconomics have been stabilised, in the inflation, the exchange rate, the certainty, the transparency.
“All the work of the last three years is now translating into growth, and the signals are coming through,” she said.
Shortly after arriving in Kigali, Tinubu held a bilateral meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
Oduwole described the session as “very, very cordial,” describing both leaders as co-champions on digital trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area framework.
“They talked about the importance of accelerating the pace at which we are trading. We are also in talks with Rwandan Airways to see how Nigerian businesses can export more of their goods across the continent,” she said, adding that Nigeria had signed an air cargo corridor arrangement with Uganda Airways the previous year as part of the same continental connectivity drive.
The Kigali trip is Tinubu’s third stop in his three-nation tour, which began in Paris, where he met global investors, including representatives of Citibank, Amundi, BlueCrest and US fund groups.
From Paris, he flew to Nairobi for the Africa Forward Summit, where he spoke on green industrialisation and capital consolidation on the continent before approximately 40 African and French CEOs.
On domestic reforms, the minister highlighted the National Single Window as the most symbolically significant ease-of-doing-business achievement of the term, precisely because it had eluded governments for decades.
Oduwole said, “That is an intervention that has defeated administration over administration.
“The President announced it in April 2024 and by March this year, Phase One was rolled out.
“What that does is ensure that as a trading nation, what you are importing and exporting is processed through a single portal, and it has been very, very well received by the private sector.”
She also pointed to port reforms at Apapa and Tin Can, which she described as piggybacking on commitments made during Tinubu’s recent UK state visit.
She cited the coastal road, rail and road infrastructure projects, the Securities and Investment Act and the new tax architecture as a compounding set of structural reforms now yielding visible results.
On taking the AfCFTA programme below the federal level, Oduwole said the ministry had recently launched a subnational tour in Kano covering the North-West.
“We are going around regions in Nigeria to train, practicalise, and share with state governments and local governments how each local government can have one product that will be exported across Africa,” she said.
The Africa CEO Forum, which runs May 14 and 15 in Kigali, will bring together chief executives and global investors to deliberate on capital mobilisation, trade and continental economic integration.

LocalFARMERS: Goat/ Ram business is lucrative. But the sellers go through a lot. They take a lot of risk. They go to far North to purchase Goats/Rams and transport them in Trailer trucks to various parts of Southern Nigerian States.
They sit at the top of the rare parts of the trucks. This is to keep an eye on the Goats/ Rams and to ensure they are all in good health all through the journey.
Zimbabwe has announced that it will be returning 67 foreign-owned farms and pledging $146 million in compensation to settle claims from European investors. The move specifically targets properties protected under bilateral treaties with Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands, addressing grievances from the controversial and often violent land reform era of 2000. Under President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the government is also working to restore over 1,200 additional farms to Black and white Zimbabwean owners.
This restitution drive is a strategic attempt to mend relations with Western powers and unlock the global financial system. Currently burdened by over $13 billion in foreign debt, Zimbabwe remains shut out from IMF and World Bank lending.
ogugwa1992: Homeland Security Appointment Debate: Nigeria Must Avoid Institutional Overlap by ogugwa1992(op): 5:13pm The appointment of a Special Adviser on Homeland Security by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has generated significant public debate. While every government has the right to innovate and strengthen its security architecture, it is equally important to ask whether new structures genuinely address institutional gaps or merely duplicate responsibilities already assigned to existing agencies.
This conversation requires nuance rather than sentiment. The issue is not whether homeland security itself is important. It unquestionably is. Modern states must protect borders, critical infrastructure, cyberspace, public safety systems, immigration frameworks, and emergency response capabilities from increasingly complex threats. The real question is whether Nigeria currently lacks institutional structures to perform these responsibilities.
On balance, the answer appears to be no.
Nigeria already possesses an expansive domestic security architecture. The Ministry of Interior oversees immigration, correctional services, civil defence, and fire services. The Department of State Services (DSS) retains primary responsibility for internal intelligence and domestic security. The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) coordinates national security strategy and inter-agency collaboration, while the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) already exists as a specialised multi-agency coordination platform for terrorism and emerging threats.
Against this backdrop, the creation of another homeland security advisory office risks creating institutional duplication rather than institutional efficiency.
Globally, homeland security structures are typically established to consolidate fragmented domestic security functions under one umbrella. The United States Department of Homeland Security emerged after the September 11 attacks because border protection, customs, emergency management, aviation security, and infrastructure protection were spread across disconnected agencies with weak coordination mechanisms. The reform was therefore structural and operational, not merely advisory.
Nigeria’s situation is fundamentally different. Most homeland security-related responsibilities already exist within established institutions. Border management sits with Immigration and Customs. Domestic intelligence belongs to the DSS. Emergency management is coordinated through NEMA. Critical infrastructure protection increasingly falls within the mandates of agencies such as NSCDC, NITDA, and the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre. Counterterrorism coordination is already anchored at the NCTC under ONSA.
This is why concerns over institutional overlap should not be dismissed lightly.
If not carefully defined, the office of Special Adviser on Homeland Security could unintentionally usurp or blur the statutory responsibilities of the Ministry of Interior and the DSS. That outcome would be counterproductive. Security institutions function best when mandates are clear, disciplined, and respected. Once multiple offices begin competing over internal security coordination, intelligence reporting, or domestic operational oversight, friction inevitably emerges.
Nigeria’s security challenge has rarely been the absence of institutions. More often, it has been weak coordination, bureaucratic competition, duplication of mandates, and inconsistent implementation. Creating additional layers without addressing these underlying problems risks adding complexity rather than clarity.
This concern becomes even more important in the intelligence space. The DSS already maintains legal and operational responsibility for internal intelligence collection, counter-subversion, and domestic threat monitoring. Any attempt to create a parallel homeland security structure with overlapping intelligence functions could generate avoidable institutional rivalry. Such overlaps must be carefully avoided in the national interest.
Similarly, the Ministry of Interior already performs many of the functions commonly associated with homeland security in other jurisdictions, including immigration oversight, civil protection, border governance, and internal administrative security coordination. Rather than creating potentially overlapping advisory structures, a stronger argument could have been made for strengthening the institutional capacity and coordination role of the Ministry itself.
None of this suggests that the government’s intention is misplaced. The threats confronting Nigeria are evolving rapidly. Cyberattacks, organised crime, infrastructure sabotage, disinformation campaigns, terrorism financing, irregular migration, and transnational criminal networks increasingly intersect in ways that traditional security models sometimes struggle to manage.
However, institutional expansion should not become a substitute for institutional reform.
The more sustainable approach would have been to strengthen existing structures, clarify inter-agency coordination frameworks, improve intelligence integration, modernise border governance systems, and deepen operational cooperation between existing agencies rather than introducing another office into an already crowded security ecosystem.
There is also a broader governance principle at stake. Mature security systems are built on clarity of responsibility. Citizens and institutions must know which agency is responsible for what function. Once roles become blurred, accountability weakens. In moments of crisis, confusion over mandates can delay response times, complicate intelligence sharing, and undermine operational effectiveness.
Nigeria’s security architecture therefore requires streamlining more than expansion.
The appointment of a Special Adviser on Homeland Security should consequently remain narrowly administrative and coordinative if it is to avoid institutional conflict. The office should not evolve into a parallel Ministry of Interior, a competing domestic intelligence platform, or an alternative counterterrorism coordination centre.
Ultimately, the success of Nigeria’s security architecture will depend less on the number of offices created and more on whether existing institutions are empowered, disciplined, coordinated, and properly led. The country does not suffer from a shortage of security structures. It suffers from fragmentation, overlap, and implementation gaps.
Those realities must remain central as Nigeria continues to reform its national security framework.
DrTee1: It is deeply unsettling to witness the rapid disintegration of the values that once defined us. This modern "woke" culture is increasingly at odds with the foundational principles of our heritage. When did it become acceptable for twenty-two-year-olds to treat their fathers with such blatant disregard?
This is not our culture. In our tradition, a father is the head of the home. He is the provider, the protector, and the ultimate authority. While no human is infallible, our customs dictate a level of reverence that transcends personal grievances. A father’s methods of discipline and the way he chooses to steer his household were once respected as his prerogative, rooted in a desire to build a resilient lineage.
Furthermore, our cultural standards are clear: while a woman may choose to seek a path outside of a marriage, as long as she remains within her husband's house, there is a requisite level of cooperation and respect for the order of that home.
What has this digital age and the "Gen Z" mindset brought upon us? To see young people, somewhat public figures even, openly challenging or embarrassing their birth fathers for the sake of "trends" is a tragedy. Is there no longer a sense of shame?
Can a child truly find peace after publicly disgracing the source of their existence?
This is a clarion call for men and heads of households to reflect deeply. We are witnessing a cultural shift that threatens to leave us as a generation without roots.
blamingthedevil: Tinubu created NDC to destroy opposition – Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC spokesman
In July, 2025, opposition politicians, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, Senator David Mark, among others settled for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the “coalition party,” for the 2027 general elections. The objective was to enable the opposition to present a united front against President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s polls.
However, in a twist, Obi, alongside former Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who joined the ADC recently, early this week dumped the opposition party for the newly registered Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
In this interview with NDUBUISI ORJI, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, speaks about the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso, alongside some of their supporters, from the ADC and what that means for the ADC and the opposition in the 2027 polls. Abdullahi also speaks on ADC’s legal battles, among other issues.
What is the state of the ADC vis-a-vis current developments? Last week the Supreme Court referred you back to the Federal High Court for the suit bordering on the leadership of the party and since last Sunday there have been some movements out of the ADC…
ADC is the party that we’ve been trying to build in the last two years or so. When we got the Supreme Court judgment last week, it was a good development for us. And the fact that the Supreme Court judgment removed the encumbrance that has stopped the David Mark leadership from acting, from providing leadership for the party and running the party, you know, was in itself a cause for celebration. We know some people were asking, why are we celebrating, especially when we are still very far? Of course, for us, it was a major victory.
The fact is that before the Supreme Court ruling, INEC was not dealing with us, and the party was effectively without leadership. But what the Supreme Court judgment did was to restore leadership to the party and created a condition where the party can begin to move forward again. And as you can see, we’ve announced dates for our primaries, and we’re going to field candidates in all elections. That would not have been possible before the Supreme Court judgment. So that is significant.
So, saying that we should return to the Federal High Court is neither here nor there. I mean, because the Federal High Court case had always been there. All those cases have always been there. But that has not been our problem, because we’re dealing with them. Our problem was the action taken by INEC to deregister the leadership of David Mack, or to derecognise the leadership of David Mack. That was the major encumbrance we had. And that was what the Supreme Court removed. So, saying that we should go back to the Federal High Court is not anything essential.
But for us, why did we come to ADC? We came to ADC because we were dissatisfied with the situations in other political parties, the condition that the federal government has created in those other political parties. That was the number one reason that we formed and built the coalition.
And we’re not satisfied with the way the APC government was running the country, and we felt that we had a duty to mobilise Nigerians and to move the country in a different direction. Those objectives are still there. Anyone that believes that the country is moving in the wrong direction, we will work with that person.
So, for us, that is the cardinal objective of the African Democratic Congress as a coalition. People give the impression that we have many court cases. We have three court cases, and those court cases are not as significant as they make it appear. So, ADC today is not encumbered by any legal challenge. And that is why we were able to release a timetable for our primaries.
The second issue of people who left for another party. Is it a setback? Of course it is. Is it such a problem for us? The answer is no. Because there is a way you look at it as a challenge, but there is a way you also look at it as an opportunity. Why is it a challenge? The challenge is that, okay, everything we’re planning, we’re planning with these people in mind, that they were part of our party.
Now they left, so it means that suddenly we will have a reason to now begin to re-calibrate and see how we move forward. To that extent, it’s a challenge. But how is it an opportunity? It’s an opportunity because now we no longer have the kind of pressure cooker environment that they created.
Because they were looking for a party that would guarantee them tickets, regardless of what happened to other aspirants. And ADC is not that kind of party. So that’s why we said the party they’ve gone to now is probably the party they needed in the first place. A party that belonged to one man that could even guarantee them tickets before they came into the party.
Maybe that’s the party they need. But for us, building a party like the African Democratic Congress and the kind of coalition we’re trying to build, there was no way we would have been able to promise them those kinds of things, without going through the due process that a political party should go through, which is the primaries.
You have a case in the Federal High Court which is bordering on leadership of the ADC…
Yes.
Some persons are of the view that that creates a kind of uncertainty, such that if the David Mark leadership fields candidates and they win elections, and that judgment does not go in favour of this leadership, that it may be an exercise in futility…

truthera: Sources told SaharaReporters that shortly after the publication of the newspaper’s exclusive report detailing how at least 36 soldiers and Mobile Police officers were killed during coordinated attacks in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, commanders expressed anger that the information leaked to the press.
Fresh details have emerged following the deadly Boko Haram attacks on two military formations in Yobe State, with military sources alleging that top Nigerian Army authorities have begun a crackdown on soldiers suspected of leaking operational failures to the media after pressure from the office of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Sources told SaharaReporters that shortly after the publication of the newspaper’s exclusive report detailing how at least 36 soldiers and Mobile Police officers were killed during coordinated attacks in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, commanders expressed anger that the information leaked to the press.
The attacks occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday night into Friday morning when Boko Haram insurgents stormed the Theatre Training Centre in Buniyadi and the 27 Task Force Brigade in Buni Gari, both located in the hometown of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.
Military sources told SaharaReporters that the publication of the incident angered top security officials in Abuja.
“One of the commanders received a call immediately after the story was published. The commander said the call came from the National Security Adviser Ribadu’s office,” a military source said.
"They were angry that information about the attack got to the media so quickly.”
The source said that military commanders were instructed to suppress reports relating to Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province attacks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We were told clearly that going forward, information about Boko Haram or ISWAP attacks should not be made public until after the 2027 elections,” the source alleged.
"They said such reports are damaging the image of President Bola Tinubu’s government and the military. The instruction was that operational failures should be managed internally.”
The source further claimed that threats were issued against soldiers suspected of leaking information to journalists.
“Commanders warned that any soldier found communicating with the media would face severe punishment,” the source said.
"The threat was serious. People are scared because they believe they can be framed or targeted at any time.”
SaharaReporters had earlier reported that dozens of security personnel were killed after insurgents launched simultaneous assaults on the two military facilities in Yobe.
One of the soldiers who survived the attack had narrated how the insurgents invaded the formations during the midnight assault.
"My camp was attacked by Boko Haram. In 27TF BDE Buni Gari, three soldiers were killed in action and the attack started around 1:00 a.m. The Boko Haram (terrorists) were attacking us and at the same time attacking our neighbouring camp,” the soldier had told SaharaReporters.
Another military source described the incident as one of the deadliest recent attacks on troops in the area.
"Last night was bloody,” the soldier said in a voice recording obtained by SaharaReporters.
“We started hearing that Boko Haram was attacking Buniyadi around one o’clock in the morning. We wanted to reinforce them, but before we could move, they started attacking our own camp too.”
According to military sources, the Theatre Training Centre in Buniyadi recorded the highest casualties, with 17 Mobile Police officers undergoing training reportedly killed.
Sources added that 10 soldiers attached to the training programme and six permanently deployed soldiers also died during the attack, bringing the total death toll from both attacks to at least 36.
The latest allegations have raised fresh concerns over transparency within Nigeria’s military operations in the North-East, where insurgent groups continue to carry out deadly attacks despite repeated claims by authorities that terrorism has been largely contained.

Ezhionum Kingdom is one of the communities that make up Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION The geographical location of Ezhionum can be explained throughthe physical boundaries it shares with other communities. In the north, Ezhionum is bounded by Amai; in the south by Abbi, In the east by Ogume and in the west by Aragba.
POPULATION DENSITY According to the projected census figure of 1991, Ezhionum has a population density of about 15,240 people comprising of 8,000 females and 7,240 males.
TRADITIONAL SET UP Ezhionum is traditionally made up of three (3) quarters namely: Aweka, Ogbe-Nami and Ogbe-Ofu. The three quarters consist of twelve (12) families with five (5) in Aweka, three (3) in Ogbe-Nami and four (4) in Ogbe-Ofu quarters.
OCCUPATION The geographical location of Ezhionum places it in the tropical rain forest which makes the people completely agrarian by occupation. The crops cultivated for both subsistence and trading with neighboring communities include yams, cassava, maize, melon, pepper, groundnut, beans and plantain. The cash crops cultivated include rubber, palm-oil, kola-nuts, etc.
THE HISTORICAL ORIGIN OF EZHIONUM Different historical sources and varying accounts of the elders were sought by the writers with a view of gathering some historical facts and finally presenting a summerized and streamlined historical origin of Ezhionum.
One of the accounts has it that the great grandfather of the founder of Ezhionum community and some other people originally settled in Benin. But due to incessant wars in the Benin empire, they left Benin and settled at Asaba near the western bank of the River Niger at about 1500 AD.
However, at the 1600 AD, war broke out in Asaba over who becomes the king of Asaba and the faction to which the grandfather of Ezhionum belonged ran to ask for the help of Benin w warriors who responded quickly but did not see their opponents who had hidden themselves inside an anthill. Most unfortunately, the invited Benin warriors started killing the faction that invited them based on the assumption that they lied to them.
This unquestionably led to the exodus of many people from Asaba amongst whom was a pregnant woman who according to one of the accounts finally settled at Ejeme and gave birth to a baby boy whom she named "Onumgbunum" which literally means "my mouth killed me."
Onumgbunum later became an adult and started an expedition further towards the west and after many years, he met a man called Akashiede who was living with his family at the present day Eziokpor and was accepted to live with them at about 1700 AD. The account further started that Akashiede has a daughter named Ezhie and a son named Ebu and the daughter was married to a man called Okpor with children. But Okpor later for sick and died and after some time, Onumgbunum, on the request of Akashiede took Ezhie as a wife in order to take care of Okpor's children and also have children through her.
CapitalLogic: How Investors Learn to Navigate Financial Markets
Financial markets have become more accessible than ever before. In 2026, investors from different backgrounds can participate in global trading activities through online platforms, educational resources, and advanced analytical tools. However, despite easier access to financial instruments, successfully navigating financial markets still requires knowledge, discipline, and continuous learning.
Modern investors are increasingly aware that long-term participation in financial markets depends not only on opportunity, but also on preparation and strategic thinking. As a result, financial education has become one of the most important elements of modern investing.
The Growing Importance of Financial Literacy
The expansion of online investing has significantly increased public interest in financial literacy. Retail investors now actively seek information about:
Market fundamentals Risk management Portfolio diversification Technical and fundamental analysis Global economic trends Trading psychology
This educational shift reflects a broader understanding that financial markets are influenced by multiple interconnected factors, including interest rates, inflation, geopolitical developments, and investor sentiment.
Unlike previous generations, modern investors have access to a wide range of digital learning materials, including webinars, market reports, tutorials, and analytical articles. These resources help traders better understand how financial systems operate before making investment decisions.
Learning Through Technology
Technology has dramatically changed the learning process for investors. Online platforms now integrate educational tools directly into trading environments, allowing users to study market behavior while observing real-time financial data.
Companies such as Capital Trade Consulting Pte Ltd operate within this technology-driven investment ecosystem, where educational accessibility has become an important part of the user experience.
The company’s official website, ctcpteltd.com , reflects the broader trend of digital brokerage platforms combining trading functionality with informational support designed for modern investors.
Understanding Different Financial Markets
One of the first steps investors take when entering the financial world is learning about the various asset classes available in global markets.
Most beginners explore areas such as:
Stocks and equities Forex markets Commodities Exchange-traded funds Indices Digital financial products
Each market operates differently and responds to unique economic factors. For example, currency markets are heavily influenced by central bank policies and macroeconomic data, while stock markets may react more directly to corporate earnings and sector performance.
Learning these distinctions helps investors make more informed decisions and build diversified investment strategies.
The Role of Demo Accounts and Practice
Many investors begin their learning process through demo trading accounts. These platforms allow users to explore trading environments without risking real capital.
Demo systems are commonly used to:
Understand platform functionality Test trading strategies Learn chart analysis Practice risk management Study market volatility
This practical experience can help investors gain confidence before transitioning to live financial markets.
Brokerage firms increasingly recognize the importance of accessible learning environments. Industry observers note that companies like Capital Trade Consulting Pte Ltd operate in a market where traders value both technological infrastructure and educational accessibility.
Market Analysis as a Learning Tool
Successful investors often spend significant time learning how to analyze market conditions. Two of the most commonly studied approaches are technical analysis and fundamental analysis.
Technical Analysis
Technical analysis focuses on price charts, trading volumes, and historical market behavior. Investors use indicators and chart patterns to identify possible trends and market momentum.
Fundamental Analysis
Fundamental analysis examines broader economic and financial conditions, including:
Many experienced investors combine both approaches to create more balanced market perspectives.
Modern trading platforms increasingly integrate analytical tools directly into their interfaces. Websites such as ctcpteltd.com demonstrate how brokerage services are adapting to investor demand for accessible analytical resources and educational content.
Risk Management and Emotional Discipline
Learning to navigate financial markets also involves understanding the psychological side of investing. Emotional decision-making remains one of the most common challenges for inexperienced traders.
Fear, overconfidence, and impatience can negatively affect investment outcomes, especially during periods of high volatility.
For this reason, experienced investors often emphasize:
Structured trading plans Position size control Long-term thinking Consistent risk management Emotional discipline
Education in these areas is increasingly considered just as important as technical market knowledge.
Globalization and Access to Information
Globalization has expanded investor access to financial information from around the world. Real-time economic news, international market reports, and financial commentary are now available instantly through digital platforms.
This constant flow of information allows investors to monitor developments across multiple regions and asset classes. At the same time, it also increases the importance of critical thinking and analytical evaluation.
Modern investors are learning not only how to access information, but also how to interpret it effectively within broader market contexts.
The Future of Investor Education
Investor education is expected to continue evolving alongside technological innovation. Artificial intelligence, automated analytics, and personalized learning systems are likely to play an increasingly important role in helping traders understand complex market environments.
Online brokerage companies are also expected to expand educational offerings as competition grows within the financial technology sector.
Capital Trade Consulting Pte Ltd operates within an industry where accessibility, technology, and investor education are becoming increasingly interconnected. Platforms such as ctcpteltd.com illustrate the broader transition toward integrated digital investing ecosystems designed for modern global participants.
Conclusion
Learning to navigate financial markets is a continuous process that combines education, practical experience, and disciplined decision-making. While modern technology has made investing more accessible, successful participation in financial markets still depends heavily on preparation and risk awareness.
Today’s investors benefit from broader access to educational tools, analytical resources, and digital trading platforms than ever before. As financial markets continue to evolve, the importance of financial literacy and structured learning is likely to remain central to long-term investment success.

Ironfaceman: The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted and handed over several stolen luxury vehicles smuggled into Nigeria from Canada, in a move aimed at strengthening international cooperation against transnational crime.
The vehicles were handed over at Tin Can Island Port to Canada’s Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Nasser Salihou, by the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Frank Onyeka.
The recovery followed months of intelligence sharing and coordinated operations between the NCS and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), after investigations by Canadian authorities revealed that stolen exotic vehicles had been shipped to Nigeria through international cargo routes.
Documents dated May 5, 2026, showed that the intercepted vehicles include a 2019 Lexus RX350, 2019 Mercedes-Benz G550, 2023 Land Rover Range Rover, 2019 Lamborghini Huracán, 2021 Rolls-Royce Dawn Convertible, 2018 Lamborghini Aventador, and a 2026 Toyota Tundra, all confirmed to have been stolen and illegally exported before arriving in the country.
Speaking at the handover, Comptroller Onyeka disclosed that one of the vehicles, a Toyota Tacoma, was concealed inside a container carrying other vehicles and had not exited Customs control before intelligence from Canadian authorities prompted swift intervention.
He said upon receiving the alert and relevant shipping documents through official channels, officers immediately isolated the consignment, extracted the vehicle and placed it under enforcement custody pending diplomatic verification.
What looked like a routine cargo movement quickly became an international criminal investigation. Once intelligence reached us, we placed the consignment under enforcement watch and secured the vehicle pending confirmation from Canadian authorities,” Onyeka said.
He added that the Service delayed the release of the vehicles until Canadian officials arrived to complete identification and recovery procedures, stressing the need to maintain the integrity of the process.
We had people who wanted to step in on behalf of others, but this was too sensitive. We insisted the handover must be directly to the Canadian government,” he said.
Onyeka noted that the operation underscores the Service’s resolve to combat transnational vehicle theft syndicates exploiting global shipping routes.
He also said the recovery highlights growing cooperation between Nigeria and Canada in intelligence sharing, cargo profiling and maritime enforcement, particularly in tackling organised cross-border crimes involving stolen assets and illicit trade.
These international stolen vehicles syndicates NEVER relent. Stiffer punishments MUST be applied to deter them from stealing vehicles in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and shipping them to West Africa. Period.
Exploring many possible ways to grow yams have been a major subject of our discussion for quite some time. This video showcases growing yams without soil using dried leaves and grasses, watch the result.
Also, we explored the use of sharp sand due to its unique quality of not forming hard compacted mass of soil in sacks and containers. Sharp sand makes for easy harvest, although it is generally considered to be low in nutrient. In places where topsoil is challenging to get, it may come in handy if enhanced to grow crops.
We also planted yams in inverted empty plastic buckets, the results will amaze you!
press9jatv: Photo News: No Comment, Gov Siminalayi Fubara Successfully Screened, Cleared for APC Governorship Primaries
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has been successfully screened and cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee ahead of the party’s governorship primaries for the 2027 general elections.
The screening exercise for Fubara took place at the Plateau Governors Lodge in Abuja on Sunday, May 10, 2026. According to reports, the governor was among 3 serving governors whose credentials were verified and assessed by the committee. He has now been cleared to contest the APC governorship primary scheduled for May 21, 2026.45
Background and Political Context
Governor Fubara, who has been locked in a protracted political feud with his predecessor, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, obtained his APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms through proxies. A coalition of Rivers APC stakeholders and elders, led by Hon. Awaji-Inombek Abiante, had earlier purchased and donated the forms to support Fubara’s bid for a second term, citing the need for continuity and development in the state.
The move has heightened political tensions in Rivers State, with Wike’s loyalists reportedly opposing Fubara’s defection to the APC and re-election bid. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18jLWo1ZzM/
bestofnollywood: Arewa Youth Assembly has called on the Ogun and Enugu State Houses of Assembly to immediately commence impeachment proceedings against Governors Dapo Abiodun and Peter Mbah, accusing them of orchestrating a “palace coup” within the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF).
The group alleged that the actions of the two governors pose a direct threat to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 and could destabilise the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The demand follows reports of a leadership crisis within the PGF, after claims emerged that some governors had moved to replace the forum’s chairman, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, with Governor Mbah. The alleged plot was reportedly hatched during a meeting at the Ogun State Government Lodge.
While the PGF Director-General, Folorunso Aluko, has dismissed reports of Uzodimma’s removal as false and misleading, governors loyal to the Imo State helmsman have reportedly held a separate meeting and passed a vote of confidence in him.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Sunday, the National Publicity Secretary of the Arewa Youth Assembly, Mohammed Aliyu Sanni, accused Abiodun and Mbah of leading a faction to remove Uzodimma. He claimed the move was designed to create division within the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
“In a replay of the script of what happened in the run-up to the 2015 election, these enemies of Tinubu and Nigeria want to use the Progressive Governors Forum to launch their assault on our democracy,” Sanni said.
He drew parallels with the crisis that split the Nigeria Governors’ Forum before the 2015 election, which he claimed contributed to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat.
“If you recall, the problem President Jonathan encountered that cost him the presidency started with the division of the Governors Forum headed by then Governor of Rivers State, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi,” Sanni added.
The group alleged that the plot was timed deliberately. “Just like Brutus struck at a critical time in the reign of Julius Caesar, Abiodun chose the very day Progressive Governors accompanied Vice President Kashim Shettima to submit the re-election forms of President Tinubu to strike,” Sanni said.
The Arewa youths declared their support for Governor Uzodimma, describing him as a nationalist and bridge builder committed to ensuring Tinubu’s victory in 2027. They warned that the alleged coup attempt could frustrate the South’s completion of its tenure, which is expected to last until 2031 under an orderly rotational agreement.
“We also call on the various Houses of Assembly of Ogun and Enugu to begin the process of impeachment of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State for being a threat to our democracy,” the group added.
As of press time, the offices of Governors Abiodun and Mbah had not issued an official response to the impeachment calls.
[quote author=EmmyMaestro post=139375560]Reactions as woman harvests a giant cassava
A giant cassava harvested by a woman has sparked massive reactions across social media after a viral video showed the unusually large crop towering above normal size expectations.
In the trending clip, the woman was seen proudly holding the enormous cassava shortly after uprooting it from her farm.
What caught the attention of many viewers was the astonishing size of the tuber, which appeared longer than the woman herself.
The video quickly spread across different social media platforms, with many Nigerians expressing shock, amusement, and admiration over the rare harvest.
While some users joked about the extraordinary size of the cassava, others pointed to the country’s rising food costs and the growing importance of farming for survival.
Leeleeofafrica wrote: “Na only for Nigeria person go harvest one giant cassava and everybody go gather like say na miracle 😭 But deep down, it shows how hard survival is here. When food becomes expensive, even ordinary farm harvest starts looking like national achievement.”
Raymond questioned how the cassava was uprooted, saying: “This is unbelievable; I am sure the cassava was horizontal on the ground. If vertical, it would be difficult to go that deep in uprooting.”
Another user, Bintu, described the harvest as astonishing. She wrote: “That’s massive! Women pulling up a cassava taller than a person has the whole internet in awe and jokes flying. Nature flexing hard in the farm.”
DaddyE’s suggested the cassava should be replanted for future harvests, writing: “This one is supposed to be planted again throughout the farm so she can get very large cassavas like this.”
Akdesign also praised the woman’s effort, stating: “That’s incredible seeing women handle such a massive cassava is truly impressive and inspiring.”
ogododo: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of retired Major General Adeyinka A. Fadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security, the Presidency announced on Monday.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF). It was electronically signed by Chris Ugwuegbulam, its Head of Information and Public Relations.
According to the statement, the appointment was made “in recognition of his exceptional record of service, strategic expertise, and outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s national security architecture.”
The statement explained that the appointment reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to strengthening internal security coordination and intelligence operations across the country.
It stated that the appointment “underscores the commitment of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strengthening internal security coordination, enhancing intelligence-driven operations, and deepening inter-agency collaboration in addressing emerging security threats across the country.”
According to the statement, the circular announcing the appointment was signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and issued by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana.
Major General Fadewa (retd.) is described as a highly decorated retired military officer with more than three decades of experience in military intelligence, counter-terrorism operations, national security strategy and international security diplomacy.
The Presidency noted that he served as Principal General Staff Officer to the National Security Adviser at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) between 2015 and 2021.
During his time at ONSA, he reportedly led efforts to establish the Intelligence Fusion Centre (IFC), a multi-agency intelligence platform designed to improve coordination among Nigeria’s security and intelligence agencies.
The statement said the platform brought together the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and the Armed Forces “to improve national threat assessment and strategic response coordination.”
Following his retirement from active service, Fadewa served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja, where he focused on policing, civil-security cooperation and national security reforms.
The statement also highlighted his scholarly work, including a monograph titled Policing and National Security in Nigeria, which it described as offering “practical frameworks for strengthening civil-security collaboration.”
President Tinubu expressed confidence that the retired general would strengthen the administration’s homeland security efforts.
According to the statement, the President believes the appointment “will further enhance the administration’s efforts toward achieving a safer and more secure Nigeria through improved coordination of homeland security initiatives, intelligence integration, and proactive risk management.”
Tinubu also urged the retired officer “to deploy his wealth of experience, professionalism, and strategic insight in advancing national security objectives and supporting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The purchase by Nigeria of more advanced weapons such as LEO satellite tracking technologies, attack drones and surveillance drones are urgently needed to degrade the highly IRRESPONSIBLE foreign Fula militia bandits from the West African Sahel attacking several communities, the foreign Tuareg-led Lakurawas, BH, ISWAP, JNIM jihadi terrorists groups attacking Nigeria from Mali.
State and community Policing MUST be established immediately as well to bring security management closer to the affected communities instead of waiting for the FG to help all the time.
Another strike like the one that hit the bakery truck in the video below. Once an aircraft is airborne, anything can happen while taking off or landing. Big props to all the professional pilots and crew out there.

I’ve noticed many prospective homeowners and "Landlords-to-be" asking the same question every day: "How much will it cost to build a 3-bedroom bungalow in Nigeria right now?"
With the way cement and rod prices are fluctuating, it’s hard to get a straight answer. Some contractors will tell you ₦40M because they want to "chop" your money, while others will give you a lowball quote of ₦10M just to get the job, only for them to start asking for more money once they reach the lintel level.
From my recent research and current market trends, a standard 2-to-3 bedroom bungalow (roughly 120m² - 150m²) on a strip foundation is currently sitting between ₦15 Million and ₦30 Million for a standard finish. Of course, this changes if you are building in a swampy area (pile foundation) or using luxury Italian tiles.
I recently found a very useful tool that helps you calculate these costs based on your specific location and building type. It even lets you choose if you want the price for "Carcass only" or "Total Finishing."
You can check it out here to get a rough idea before you call your architect:
What I like about it is that it includes options for:
Building type (Bungalow vs Duplex)
Foundation choice (Strip, Raft, or Pile)
Finish quality (Budget vs Luxury)
Currency selection (Naira, USD, etc.)
For those who have recently completed their decking or roofing, what are the current prices you’re seeing in your area? Let’s share experiences so we don’t get cheated by "Omo-onile" or dishonest site engineers.
Blessings to everyone trying to own their home this year!
Rivers Benue, Niger and river Kaduna (Kaduna got its name from the word "Kada" meaning "crocodiles" found in the river Kaduna) are known habitats of vicious crocodiles and even crocodiles exist in the swamplands of Lagos State especially the swamp valley just behind Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos which runs to Omole Estate where Crocs have also been sighted. Those swamplands represent some of the the last vestiges of the massive forests that existed in what is Lagos State flowing right into Ogun State.
The wide Lekki Peninsula area right to Epe too is a major croc and python habitat and infect when HFP was building VGC in Ajah and Lekki Phase 1 was evolving from parts of the demolished slum called Maroko through land reclamation from the late 1990s right into the early 2000s, lots of crocodiles and huge snakes where sighted and killed by construction workers.
I would advice uninformed tourists, fishermen, Marine Scientists and those whose professions require research out in aquatic ecosystems to be careful of stepping into unknown waters like rivers and lakes which can habour these vicious crocodiles and even wild snakes that swim easily in water as seen on Discovery Channel and Nat Geo Wild.
This SA incident involving the White South African businessman in that river would have involved a "death roll" where a croc or alligator would instantly grab the victim underwater then spin around to suffocate and strangle the victim to death.
One major method of getting a croc to let go of it's grip on a man or woman is to viciously poke the eye or eyes of the croc with your fingers... That is if the croc eyes can be reached on time.
