lol see vim slander from those who haven't spent time to use and understand it.

vim is cooler than vs code tho, it's also way uglier lol but wayyyyyyy powerful

vs code is easier and more intuitive that's why its a better choice for most. If you want advance text editing vim all the way but if you want to spend time writing code, rather than figuring out how to save a file or quit vim use vs code.

at the end of d day, they are both tools use what feels comfortable and convenient for you in d end they both achieve same result. It's abt the user rather than the tool.

IMO vim makes you cool and baddass, like you know what you're doing lol

* Search for Mojave theme and icons pack to give ur system the Mac os look
* Download Mac os wallpapers
* Use a dock like Cairo or plank for that Mac os panel
* Download an app like syanpse to imitate Mac is quick launcher app.
* use slingscord for your app menu (optional)

kiddie:
I'd prefer we converse without hurling insults grin
1. You seem to be comparing Rust compile time which has an amazing compile error checker and C++ whose error checker is suboptimal. Have you seen rust error logs when users make mistakes it literally guides users to how they can make changes, this comes at a cost but it's worth it and I'm sure this would be perfected soon.

2. I guess this has been C++ pitfall. You have clang, msvc and more and when the high and mighty forces down "a standard way to write something down our throats" then various compiler developers starts scampering to implement support and then we have bad code cross-compilation.

3. Too too late we cant wait for all libraries to make the transition.

4. Show me books in C++ that teaches unit testing and benchmarking precisely especially for beginners, Rust documentation does that smiley which is one of the fundamentals of programming.

You seem to be on the defence for C++ cheesy C++98 to C++20 seem to be a very wide consistent development age for the C++ team and we pretty much haven't solved the issue of optimally using a low level language like C++ for modern computers.

Golang is meant to be a C++ killer? How? To write low level driver codes? Go has garbage collection.

Let give Rust the chance and make opensource softwares to make it fly.
Though I'm not on the whole rust train, I quite agree with your last 2 points. C++ hasn't changed much to accommodate for the newer ways we write sw.

[quote author=kingxsamz post=91913907]Funny guy... I believe in facts not theories.
If a certain claim made by science is backed up with facts and concrete evidence then I'm okay with it.
That's what differentiates me with the so called creationists...
Science doesn't claim to know all, that's why research is being conducted in all aspects of life. While some group of people would sit down and read a 2000 year old book and conclude they know it all.
No point quoting me if you don't understand my point. [/quote

lol there is no point other than religion bashing though. which is fine.
As much as there are ignorants in religion, they also exists in scientists. we all are driven by cognitive biases which influences the choice we make, our actions and beliefs. Scientists are also driven by beliefs which influence their work. Lamarck once believed the ancestors of giraffes had short necks, he was a scientist, he backed up his claim with Darwin's theory of evolution and natural selection which present scientist are now rethinking/ modifying to be consistent with their works. When it comes to the unknown, no one can be absolute about wat was before they were.
Science/TechnologyRe: How The Blackest Fish In The Sea 'Disappear' - Scientists Explain (Photos) by alphatron(m): 3:00pm On Jul 20, 2020
when u see people fighting over religion and science, it's usually because they don't know much about both.

kingxsamz:
Great discovery.
Science keeps making new discoveries.

I have noticed something on science related threads.
There are usually these set of unintelligent religious folks who have refused to grasp knowledge and tend to make silly, childish remarks. Why? Simply because the information contradicts their religious beliefs. So they refuse facts based on research and rely on books written by men who never knew how the world worked.
If this research had mentioned "50 million years", here are the kind of ignorant comments one would expect.
"How old is the world again"?
"How did they know this"?
"were they there? so how did they arrive at the age"?
"Science and lies".
"What is the benefit of this research"?
"These liars are always trying to discredit the bible".

You see, these comments come from people who are unintelligent, and have refused to do little research, simply because they don't want to feel the earth dates back to billions of years, which will prove that their beliefs are false.
They're always quick to discredit scientific discoveries like this because it doesn't suit their beliefs.
They'd rather lie to themselves than admit the truth.
If you're ignorant about how scientists come up with the age of an object, or how they arrive at certain conclusions, just a simple Google search would do. Information is power. Widen your horizon.

Just so you know: If you don't believe research which is based on evidence and facts, but believe that a virgin gave birth to a boy who walked on water and turned it into wine, only to die and resurrect three days later to ascend into the sky, then you're a compound fool .
Lol the earth and all other old things are dated using carbon dating... which works fine except that it only works for things that once lived, non living things cannot be carbon dated ergo we cannot - at least for now - ascertain the age of the earth. since it never lived. Read up on carbon-14 dating if you do not know. Scientists also guess, they make assumptions which is very useful to their work. however some assumptions are based on a wrong premise. (in this case that any thing can be carbon dated, which they later discovered they were wrong but couldn't retract) Choosing to just believe in science is believing in the ignorance of experts. You're not so different from the creationists who believe in the Bible cos you both believe much about things you don't know. Science doesnt teach anything, experience does. - R. Feynman

there's so much hate on c++ in the system programming community, esp UNIX bbased devas, since top minds can agree to dislike a language well enough to replace wat they hated abt it, I'll trust them. C++ can hardly be replaced though cos of its close ties with C, and we're talking abt decades of codes being maintained so these languages go and rust were made to make development easier not to totally erase c++
ProgrammingRe: How Is The Code For A Calculator (hardware), Written Into It. by alphatron(m): 3:14pm On Jul 12, 2020
generally speaking a calculator is not a general purpose computer, in fact the first intel CPU the 4004 was created to be used as a calculator, until Intel realized it could be made as a general purpose CPU and programs to perform specific functions will be programmed into it. Technically the calculator is a computer, it is programmed using binary logic and some circuits that implement various logical functions eg shifters and adders etc. Most handheld calcs aren't written in high level Lang tho cos their fxn is specific.

I am learning things like os development (theoretical and practical), linear algebra, calculus on my own. So what use do I have for a cert anyone can learn on his own. YouTube teachers (most of them) are better than the so called professors parading themselves with PhDs. Though I personally believe that computer engineering is far better.
nah, the best minds in tech have PhDs or st least masters
David knuth, Linus Tovarlds, Ryan Dahl, etc etc.
A degree gives you structure and insight including newer areas you can research into. A non degree will for most part of his/her career be playing catch up cos there's a lot to learn.

Nonetheless you can do wonderfully well with Bachelors or no degree, but not you'll be more knowledgeable if you had more degrees

your browser is written in an actual programming language. it includes a DOM tree and a parser that reads HTML and a rendering engine that shows what you see on your screen. Your 7 years of experience (definitely lies) Mr Senior engineer is trash if you can't comprehend this. HTML is no programming language it doesn't even come close
