...as flood damage over 156 vehicle in Owerri

Reports from Owerri the Imo state capital affirms how over 156 vehicles today the 26TH day of july 2019 were submerged by flood along the popular bank road in Owerri.

Motorists that spoke to our correspondents noted that they have never seen it this bad in Imo before for over 8years now. Mr. Ifeanyi, a bus driver said the state governor; Emeka Ihedioha inaugurated a sanitation committee 29 days ago which includes the Army commander in Owerri, the commissioner of police and 12 others with Former Governor of Imo state; Ikedi Ohakim as the chairman of the committee, providing them with a take off grant of 500 million naira. And for that 29 days now we have been seeing the ENTRACO sanitation team desilting drainages yet no result have been achieved.

Just this evening, all the vehicles parked along bank road have been submerged by flood.

All we here every day is committees been inaugurated but the effect is not been felt by us in Imo.

So many things are happening in Imo state lately and the governor must take charge now and stop chasing shadows.

He should concentrate on governance and stop discrediting his predecessor's achievements in the state. He is now governor of all Imolites and not only we the PDP members in the state. I am a proud PDP member but can not support any form of victimization of faithfuls of other political parties, Mr. Ifeanyi opined.

SUBJECT: THE INVASION & LOOTING OF, ALL-IN SHOP, OWNED BY DR. MRS. NNEOMA NKECHI OKOROCHA BY LEADERS & MEMBERS OF MR. JASPER NDUBUAKU-LED COMMITTEE ON “RECOVERY OF GOVERNMENT PROPERTY” SET UP BY GOVERNOR EMEKA IHEDIOHA, TWO DAYS AFTER THE AGENTS OF EFCC HAD MARKED THE SHOP FOR INVESTIGATION.

This is to inform all men and women of goodwill, that barely two days after the agents of the Economic & Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, had marked the ALL – IN SHOP, owned by the wife of the former governor, Dr. Mrs. Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha located at Naze near Owerri, for investigation also following Flood of Petitions written to the Commission by PDP government in the State, the leader and members of the government’s Committee on the “Recovery of Government Property” invaded the shop today being Friday, July 26, 2019, and looted the goods there, including the ones inside the Containers’ parked inside the premises of the Shop.

We had told all those who cared to hear us that the PDP government in the State is out for witch-hunting just to intimidate Opponents, otherwise why invading and looting a Shop with furniture and baby goods, already marked for investigation by the EFCC.

And the Containers they looted have been in the premises of the Shop before the EFCC agents came and marked the Shop for investigation last Tuesday. And they are still there before the Jasper Ndubuaku-led gang invaded the place. The question now is, what if at the end of the day, the EFCC’s investigation establishes that this shop has no relationship with the last administration.

Obviously, Jasper Ndubuka and his gang are not recovering any property but are on looting spree. They were the ones who petitioned to EFCC. And EFCC came and marked the investments they had mentioned in their petitions for investigation. Then, why going to loot the same establishments marked by EFCC for investigation? If Governor Ihedioha had asked question and if he meant well, he would not have entrusted such sensitive task into the hands of a man like Jasper Ndubuaku.

Nigerians should watch closely the brigandage going on in Imo. Leaders and members of the so-called Government's Property Recovery Committee are just having the licence to loot with the protection of the State Government. Otherwise, why won't they allow the EFCC to conclude their investigation. Governor Ihedioha has obviously lost control.

We have been shouting for the world to hear our voice. Aside their inviting the EFCC, we have asked them to publish whatever they have against Rochas Okorocha and the family or anybody that served in the Rescue Mission government but they have not been forthcoming. The implication of all these is that, where restraint is not applied and the governor cannot control the recklessness, self help may be the last resort. And nobody should be blamed.

It should also be noted that before embarking on these reckless actions the PDP government had hosted selected media Chieftains from Lagos and Abuja and known bloggers too, to help them cover their excesses and also their falsehood.

Indeed, the patience of Opponents in the State is getting exhausted and nobody can predict what will come out from this unfortunate situation. They were the ones who wrote Petitions to EFCC. The Commission marked the Shops and Colleges they listed for investigation, why invading and looting the same establishments?

The illegal attempt by the illegally declared governor of Imo State, His Excellency Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha to dissolve elected council chairmen and councillors has backfired as a High Court in Imo State reaffirmed its ruling barring banks from allowing either the elected LGA officials and the illegally constituted interim management committee from accessing funds from any of the LGAs accounts.

The High Court presided over by the Honourable Justice Ohiri Njemanze specifically warned against tampering with the funds of the LGA pending determination of the legality or otherwise of the purported dissolution of the third tier government by the State governor. The matter is adjourned to 15th of October, 2019.

Recall that the Imo State governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha had unilaterally suspended all 27 LGA chairmen and 645 councillors in the State. In their stead, he appointed a more than 300 member Interim Management Committee, that has mostly been described as a Run-off Election Campaign team by observers.

This suspension is in spite of a subsisting Supreme Court judgement barring governors from tampering with the tenures of elected LGA officials and a presidential directive empowering LGA officials to independently access and manage LGA funds.

With the recent happenings, the LGA system in Imo State would be in comatose, and staff of the LGAs may stay without salaries.

However, a top chieftain of the PDP in the State has expressed hope that the governor has excess funds in his disposal to pay LGA workers and carry out other developmental projects in the State.
According to Chief Onwuka;

"The past administration left about 48 billion Naira for the present government and they have since received another seven billion Naira Paris Refund from the Federal Government. May allocation has also been shared and Imo received over eight billion Naira. This should be enough to cater for the needs of the LGA till the embargo on LGA accounts is lifted."

It is a shame, pity and great unfortunate how state government properties,monuments and structures of historical importance
built and put in place to beautify the state by the last administration of Special Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha,are being destroyed and vandalized by people who believed that the only way they can blackmail,run down,tarnish the name, image and reputations of the immediate past governor of the state ,Owelle Rochas Okorocha is by destroying and vandalising all the projects he executed while in office as the Chief Servant of the state.

First,it was Akachi Statue a state government tourist and adoration center constructed in a dump site and hideout for criminals, kidnappers and men of underworld

The most shocking and surprising thing in all these shameful destructions and vandalizations,inglorious and irresponsible acts and actions in the state is the unenthusiastic attitude and lackadaisical approach of the present PDP led government in the state under Rt Hon Sir Emeka Ihedioha to either investigate this act of lawlessness or fish out those behind these actions

It is upto three weeks now that Imolites and non Imolites alike have reported and some written about this destruction of government structures in the state but the government of the day under Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has not taken any drastic measures to put a stop and an end to it.

Some people in the state have accused agents of the present PDP government in the state of being behind the destructions whose aim and motive they said is to destroy the structures so as to have the base to call the former governor bad names, brand or declare his projects of being substandard,inferior and lower in quality.

If PDP members and government in IMO state knows they are not behind this act of lawlessness going on in the state today,they should investigate, arrest and apprehend those behind this dastardly act

Armed thugs, allegedly acting on the instructions of the Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha have invaded 'House of Freeda', a business outfit of the first daughter of the immediate past governor of the State, Uloma Nwosu.

Mrs Uloma Nwosu is also the wife of the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance. She had been severally harassed in the past, with some of her personal and company vehicles allegedly taken away at gunpoint, by armed thugs allegedly acting in line with the directives of the governor of Imo State.

Governor Ihedioha has recently raised the tempo of his harassment against family members and political associates of his major rival in the last governorship election. It is believed that the governor whose election is facing some challenges at the court is anxious to weaken the morale of key associates of the AA governorship candidate, to either cow them into submitting to his draconian rule or stampede them out of town to ensure that he has a free ride.

So far, unconfirmed reports have it that one person has been shot, while several others sustain injuries as the thugs are looting valuables from the business premises.

Rochas used the LG chairmen and Councillors only for his Senatorial ambition and also for his son in-law gubernatorial election. Your mcm(rochas) only remembered the office of the LG chairmen just 4 months before last election. You should have known all these by now.
