PoliticsSoludo, Okwuosa, Ubah: Who Is The Next Governor Of Anambra State? by AmadiAba(op): 11:26am On Jun 25, 2021
As Anambrarians countdown to the 2021 gubernatorial elections slated for November 6, speculation continues to swirl around who will be the state's next governor. Party primaries have already begun to disclose the candidates that will progress to the next stage - the general election. This, IGBERE TV observed, has heightened tensions and fuelled speculation that the real battle lies between Azuka Okwuosa, Chukwuma Soludo and Andy Ubah.

The 26th of June will be a watershed moment for Anambrarians, particularly APC supporters, when they cast their votes to determine who would lead the party to a likely victory in November. Following the announcement of Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo as the winner of the APGA primary election, the APC is anticipated to push for an excellent candidate that can win over a wider majority of the electorate.

Given the party's abundance of talented contenders, internal party sentiment suggests that selecting a candidate will not be so easy. However, the stronger contest exists between Hon Azuka Okwuosa and Sen Andy Ubah. Both candidates have claimed a sizeable portion of the party’s membership, and the question of who would emerge victorious in the party primary elections would linger till the statistics is given the centre stage.

Given the APC's current posture in Anambra, the party's stakeholders are likely to make the most logical decision of selecting a candidate who best suits the current scenario. The party is currently battling to restore voter acceptance in Anambra, a river Okwuosa is managing to effectively navigate with much success.

Even more, expert political observers, who spoke with IGBERE TV have rated the success prospect of Hon Azuka Okwuosa in the general elections higher than that of Sen Andy Ubah.

Sen Andy Ubah’s string of financial and educational scandals could sway voters back into the ever receiving arms of APGA’s Soludo. The recent claims levelled against him by the management and staff of Heritage Bank PLC is fresh in the minds of the public, and could easily derail his chances of defeating other parties.

On the other hand, Okwuosa's impressive resume and spotless record would shine a bright light on the APC, as he has done since the start of his campaign. His pragmatic approach to public policy puts him ahead of Prof Soludo, who is known for enacting policies based on theories that may or may not stand up in practice. Despite the fact that Soludo is well-traveled and educated, Hon Azuka is more indigenous and relatable to the common Anambra man.

In the end, the onus is on the electorate to decide who the next governor will be. The analysis and speculations are merely a guide to the likely outcome of the governorship elections in Anambra. Until then, the issue of “who will be the next Governor of Anambra State?” will persist.

PoliticsAnambra 2021: Okwuosa's Victory Will Be A Threat To Us - APGA , PDP & YPP by AmadiAba(op): 11:05am On Jun 24, 2021
Alarms have gone off in the camps of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary elections draw nearer.

IGBERE TV correspondent in Awka reports that the APC's opposition groups have particularly expressed their concerns about one of the party's candidates, Hon Azuka Okwuosa - an aspirant whose chances of winning were possibly not well estimated by the competition at the start of the race.

Since his entry into the governorship contest, Hon Azuka Okwuosa, the APC's leading gubernatorial aspirant, has displayed a strong ambition to drive development and progress in Anambra to the benefit of Anambrarians. His track record of political skill, business savvy, and charismatic leadership distinguishes him from the vast majority of the aspirants within APC and beyond.

In light of his history and progress in the contest, some have argued that Okwuosa has the makings of the governor needed in Anambra at this point in time. This issue has caused opposition party stakeholders to fear that if Okwuosa wins the APC primaries, their prospects of winning the election will be cut in half.

To the opposition's chagrin, Hon Okwuosa has amassed a sizable following among Anambra natives and Anambrarians abroad. The turnout of supporters at his just concluded ward tour and the mammoth crowd of youths that have graced his rallies lend validity to the opposition's fears. It is safe to say that Okwuosa has enchanted Anambrarians with his pleasant aura and genuine desire to repair his beloved damaged state.

As intimidating as his followership size may be, it is not the singular cause for alarm. Okwuosa has received irreversible endorsement from several notable individuals, groups and associations.
The majority of the state's youngsters, women, traders, religious leaders, and monarchs have enlisted their support for his pursuit of the governorship seat. He has also built relationships and formed long term collaborations with major stakeholders and key industry players by convincing them of his willingness and ability to pull off a dramatic transformation of Anambra state.

The oppositions are well aware that Azuka Okwuosa has done his homework and his blueprint for the state’s development is a proof. Rather than focus on developing an ambiguous and lengthy profile, as is in the nature of many politicians, he has clearly itemised his proposed plan for pushing Anambra into a new level. Okwuosa's agenda leaves no stone unturned, as he intends to revamp and maximise every part of the economy, from infrastructure to agriculture, and even the film industry - something no other candidate has been able to adequately articulate to this point.

Another point of contention for the opposition is that a candidate with such a laser-like focus on the governorship election will undoubtedly limit the activities of corrupt officials within the system and direct funds only to key areas. His down-to-business approach to governance makes him unpopular among some of the bad eggs in the political space. As a result of the looming threat, trustworthy sources have indicated that some opposition members have been lobbying APC members to vote against Okwuosa in the party's primary on June 26; a scheme that would almost certainly fail.

What matters most is that Anambrarians have identified a man who is genuinely committed to their welfare; a man that is keeping other aspirants on their toes. APC is expected to put their best foot forward by fielding the candidate who is not only qualified for the job, but poses a grave threat to the opposition.

PoliticsAnambra Election: 5000 Youths March For Okwuosa by AmadiAba(op): 10:48am On Jun 23, 2021
Hon Azuka Okwuosa, the APC's leading governorship candidate, is gathering momentum by the day. His engaging demeanour and comprehensive development blueprint have won him ardent supporters across the state boarders.

IGBERE TV reports that Okwuosa's expanding fan base has boost his prospects of winning his party's ticket as the party primaries approach.

In recent rallies held across Anambra state, the highly esteemed statesman pooled a crowd of over 5000 Anambra youths who marched in support of his quest to head the reigns of affairs in the state this November. The mammoth crowd never ceased screaming plaudits for the man they believe would spearhead the transformation of the state. The reason for their conviction is not far-fetched.

The ever energetic youths that grace each rally attest to the confidence and assurance Anambrarians have in Okwuosa’s leadership qualities and political capabilities. His track record of accomplishment in local government speaks for itself. Furthermore, his philanthropic actions throughout the state have left an unforgettable mark on Anambrarians. They insist that Azuka Okwuosa is the man they have vowed to support till victory.

Hon Azuka Okwuosa's youthful followership can also be ascribed to his campaign pledge that the youth and women would manage half of the government when he becomes governor. From the start of his campaign, Okwuosa has maintained his unwavering belief in the youth's capacity to exceed expectations. A bigger portion of his blueprint is devoted to the creation of institutions and pathways that will encourage young people to innovate and facilitate the efficient utilization of available human resources.

Analysts believe Hon Azuka Okwuosa has gained the lead in the fight for the APC ticket. His widespread acceptability and large following put him ahead of the pack in all of the contesting parties. It's also worth noting that he is one of the few APC candidates with whom Anabrarians will feel at ease.

PoliticsHeritage Bank Staff At Andy Uba's House, Demand Payment Of Debts (Photos, Video) by AmadiAba(op): 4:07pm On Jun 21, 2021
On Monday, June 21, 2021, some members of the staff of a prestigious bank in Nigeria, Heritage bank, launched a protest against Nigerian senator and Anambra governorship aspirant, Sen Andy Uba, IGBERETV reports.

About 15 Heritage Bank staff were seen in front of his Abuja residence holding up placards with write-ups like, “we need our depositors’ funds, Andy Uba; we have been patient enough Andy Uba; Andy pay your debt to Heritage bank,” etc.

In a video that surfaced a few hours later, it was revealed that Andy Uba has owed the bank a huge sum of money for several years. It appears that the Senator obtained a loan from Heritage Bank, and previous attempts by the management to reclaim the debt have proven abortive. According to the employees, his debt is so enormous that it poses a threat to the employment of some of the employees of Heritage Bank.

Sen Andy Uba, who is an aspirant in the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial election under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, has yet again soiled the parties garment, thereby lessening their chances of victory in the election. In view of the APC party primaries scheduled for Saturday, 26 June, stakeholders have already begun to reconsider his eligibility for the party ticket.

This is not the first time Sen Andy Uba is being affiliated with financial mismanagement. Several years ago, Andy Uba was confirmed to be involved in money laundering in the United States of America. Even more, he has been involved in an educational fraud scandal. These discoveries put a giant question mark on his character and ability to administer transparent governance in Anambra state.

Further speculations insinuate that he could be in the governorship race to siphon state funds to offset personal debts. Party Stakeholders say this is not the kind of leader needed in Anambra state because as the Igbo saying goes “onye aka n’akpa bu onye ori.” This translates in English to “anyone who has a hand in someone else’s pocket is a thief.”

PoliticsOkwuosa Only Reason We 'll Support APC - Anambra Monarchs (photos) by AmadiAba(op): 2:48pm On Jun 21, 2021
The race to the Anambra 2021 gubernatorial election gains more tension as party primaries approach.

State stakeholders are taking stronger positions as regards the candidates and parties they would support during the elections. Political analysts interviewed by IGBERETV speculate that the gubernatorial elections would be a tough battle between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and the All-Progressives Congress (APC).

Nevertheless, notable monarchs within the state have also begun to weigh in on the conversation.

APC’s foremost candidate, Hon Azuka Okwuosa, has received commendations from several traditional leaders over the course of his campaign for the party ticket. Yet again, during his visit to some of the traditional leaders in Anambra state, he bags another endorsement to strengthen his candidature for the Anambra governorship seat.

During his visits, the monarchs acknowledged Okwuosa’s all-inclusive leadership style. They commended his ability to carry everyone along, and his bid to foster unity within his party and state in general. They did not fail to highlight the negative disposition of some Anambrarians to the APC. Irrespective of that fact, they are convinced that Okwuosa is propagating an idea of an APC that belongs to the Igbos and seeks their interest.

In clear terms, the monarchs present insisted that they would support APC’s quest for the governorship seat on the condition that Okwuosa is the party’s flag bearer. In their opinion, APGA appears to be the party for Anambra but in reality, the party’s limited access to the centre has hindered its ability to effectively execute satisfactory governance. Therefore, in the interest of Anambrarians, it is ideal to switch to a party that has the desired reach, but it is even more expedient to stick to a man that is willing and capable of serving the people. To them, Hon Azuka Okwuosa is that man.

It is no longer news that Anambrarians are gradually letting go of their decade-long allegiance to the indigenous party, APGA. They are becoming more open minded to the potentials that lie in other parties, particularly APC. Also, as the party primaries draws closer, the spotlight has remained on Hon Azuka Okwuosa as he continues to enjoy an endorsement galore.

CrimePolice Demand N1.5m To Release Transporter Paraded As Gunman, Pregnant Wife Cry by AmadiAba(op): 6:59pm On Jun 19, 2021
Police Demand N1.5m to Release Transporter Paraded as Gunman, Pregnant Wife Cries Out | #IgbereTV

An eight-month-old pregnant woman, Chioma Okoro, has cried out to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to direct the Intelligence Response Team to release her husband, Chukwudi Okoro, IgbereTV has learned.

Chioma told SaharaReporters on Saturday morning that her husband, Chukwudi, is still being held at the IRT because the family had not given N1.5million to the IRT police in Abuja as demanded.

According to SaharaReporters, the four other South-Easterners who were raided alongside Okoro had regained their freedom after parting with at least a N1million as bribes to the police officers.

The men were raided by the joint team of the police and the Nigerian Army on May 24 in Owerri, Imo State, and labelled as members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and the unknown gunmen.

Chioma Okoro, who is due to give birth in July, begged the police top echelon to release her husband, who is a struggling tricycle driver and the first in his family.

She said, "He is the only one in detention among the five of his set right now. The police told us to pay N1.5million to secure his release. He is the eldest brother. He has only two younger brothers who are in school. They don't have such an amount.

"My husband needs help. He does not have such an amount. The tricycle he is riding is on hire purchase, and he has not even completed the hire purchase. I am not doing anything for now. I am eight months pregnant. I am a hairdresser. Things are very difficult for me and the family.

"He has been arrested since May 25. He was labelled as an unknown gunman. We last spoke on Wednesday and what my husband said was I should try and find a means. We are all tired."

IgbereTV had earlier reported that the IGP Intelligence Response Team in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, collected at least N1million bribes as bail before releasing South-East youths and artisans raided as members of the IPOB's Eastern Security Network.

We had learnt from the families of the victims, who did not want their names in print to avoid police victimisation. They paid the huge sums through their nose before securing the release of their relations.

We understand that the victims were raided in the South-East and brought to detention at the IGP'S IRT office in Abuja.

"The Investigating Police Officer at the IRT's team holding them is one Inspector Daniel. They were five in number taken to the IRT office, formerly called Abattoir.

"We paid about N1million to secure Chigaemezu (one of the victims). In June, he was released in June by the police in Abuja," one of the family members had said.

PoliticsAnambra Monarchs To Okwuosa: "APGA Destroying The State Daily, Save Us" by AmadiAba(op): 11:28am On Jun 18, 2021
The reign of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra seems to have come to an end as Anambrarians protest against the party’s inactivity towards resolving the pending issues in the state.

IGBERETV reports that the party has had a strong footing in Anambra state for almost two decades but it has become clear that it is incapable of taking the state to a new level.

Concerned Anambrarians within the state, and in diaspora have aired their unhidden views to APC’s top candidate, Hon Azuka Okwuosa.

Hon Azuka Okwuosa, who has received numerous endorsements from state stakeholders, has repeatedly highlighted the lapses of the incumbent government. At the same time, he has unveiled practical plans to cover those lapses. Following the expression of his capacity to move Anambra forward, a group of traditional and youth leaders expressed their views during a closed door meeting with the Anambra APC governorship candidate, Okwuosa.

During the meeting, the traditional leaders raised their concerns about the dwindling condition of the state. The standard of living of the average Anambrarian has continued to decline, they explained. The complaints from the members of their community have become too much for them to bear. A traditional leader from Anambra South aired that several Anambrarians outside the country have called him to express their great displeasure in the direction of the state. They threatened to withdraw their involvement and support for the communities and the state if a worthwhile development is not noticed.

The leaders said they had put their confidence in a party that was believed to be a game changer for Anambrarians, but they have discovered that the party is too small to change the game. It has remained handicapped in defining moments, and it has caused the state to spiral downwards. The party leaders have used the loyalty of Anambrarians as a cover to milk the state of its ample resources. According to one of the youth leaders present, Anambra needs a trustworthy man in a capable party and Okwuosa is a man that fits the description perfectly. His capacity combined with the parties reach will bring in the much needed development.

Hon Azuka Okwuosa holds a record of being one of the first candidates to maintain that the party allegiance of Anambrarians is worsening the state of affairs in Anambra. He has rallied thousands of Anambrarians under the APC banner, to advocate for progress without sentiments. He is championing an APC ideology owned by ndi Igbo for ndi Igbo. It is an ideology that is fast gaining traction under his watch.

There is no question about Okwuosa’s ability to effectively run Anambra state. He is well versed in political administration and entrepreneurship. His experience in both the public and private sectors has earned him the respect of the electorate and stakeholders alike. As a leader who values accessibility to the people, he has positioned himself to listen to the opinions at the grassroot. According to him, Anambrarians are getting wiser and they are willing to let go of sentiments to vote for the man that will get the job done.

PoliticsInternational Maritime Law: Southeast Is NOT Landlocked (MUST READ) by AmadiAba(op): 8:54pm On Jun 12, 2021
International Maritime Law: Southeast is NOT Landlocked (MUST READ) | #IgbereTV

By: Michael King.

It is either the purveyors of this falsehood are ignorant or are just deliberately mischievous.

First there are international conventions on maritime passage ways. These conventions on the passage through waters are binding on legally recognised sovereign states and not break away states as in the case of the old Biafra - more reason why the Biafrans lost the war, when shipments where seized through the Bakassi axis of the sea.

That's not the crux of this exposé.

Many people don't understand the difference between the ocean, River and other water tributaries. They make the notional mistake that once a sea passes through their geographical space - then they can seize any vessel on transit. If it were so - the Iranians, Saudis, Iraq and Syria would have gone to war over the gulf of Persia. Then talk about the straits of Homuz. Nuclear bombs would have been going off there.

Oceans are large water bodies that have depths up to or beyond 12,100 feet, while anything below that counts as a river or stream.Measuring the depth of a river is not that easy because of the source of the water and the underneath columns. In other words a river is a water body that empties itself into the depth of the ocean.

You see waters are connected to each other - source paths and distributive ends. In most cases rivers are close to the shores - close to the people.

Shores are where seaports are built for vessels to berth. For a seaport to be fully functional the pathway from the sea depth to the shore has to be dredged; the removal of obstructive wastes on the maritime pathway to deepen the waterway.

The path from the sea to the shore is measured in Nautical miles. A standard measurement unit for air and marine. A Nautical mile is about 1.8 kilometres. 1800 meters. For a seaport to be sited at a place, the shore must have a connection to the sea. And that connection to the sea goes through tributaries, these tributaries dredged to get the desired depth for vessels.

Now to debunk the lies, we must look at Portharcourt ports, Calabar, Onne and Lagos sea ports. The question then is how many Nautical miles are these seaports ( Shorelines) to the sea? Lagos is 50 Nautical miles, Portharcourt 60 Nautical miles, Onne 60 Nautical miles, Calabar 45 miles. Fully dredged with seaports. Ships passing through these waters under international maritime laws.

So how come the south East is landlocked when we have the Azumiri blue river with 23 Nautical miles. The Oseakwa River in Ihiala 18 Nautical miles. The Obeaku River in Abia state with 25 Nautical miles to Atlantic beach. Uguta lake is about 15 Nautical miles to the sea. These are waters with direct access to the ocean.

In the case of a sovereign state of the south East, access to the ocean can never be denied whatsoever by any dead or living soul.

You can dredge the river even if Rivers state will not be part of Biafra, the only thing it will cost is paying toll fee to nigeria per ship passage. And Nigeria cannot say NO. Its a an international law for nigeria to grant Biafra such access.

There's a conventional law guiding this which was set aside by UN and which nigeria had signed to. Biafra is not even a problem because we have a river linking the ocean directly to biafra (without port Harcourt) with a distance of nearly 40miles. Nigeria will only be forced to agree to the treaty of convention of transit trade of landlocked countries. Biafra is even very close to the sea, unlike switzerland, Belarus and Sudan and their ports function well.

My question is: how can a region that has nearer access to the sea than its neighbours be said to be landlocked?

You can see what lies and deceptive indoctrination can do to a people. This lie is the reason why there is no functional seaport in the southeast. Why can't Azumiri be dredged?

Why can't Obeaku? Why can't Uguta and others not mentioned here be dredged? The economic impact this has had on the south east is immeasurable. If only Azumiri was dredged or Uguta or River Niger leading up to Onitsha - Apapa would have been a ghost town.

The truth is, when the lies of yesterday becomes exposed the anger that would ensue you can't contain.

Biafra: Southsouth and Southeast are One and Indivisible - Akwa-Ibomite | #IgbereTV

By Esther Okokon

Greetings to my beautiful people of Biafra and lovers of freedom all over the World, may Elohim be our shield and protect us from those seeking our destruction, the pit they dug for us, may they fall therein in Christ name Ameeen

THE STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM:

The Middle Belt people hates the co North with passion, but have you ever heard the North telling the middle Belt to go their separate ways? They keep telling them that North is one and indivisible, because they know that's their STRENGTH

Come to the East, just because some MISINFORMED people are saying they're Niger Delta and not part of BIAFRA/Igbo nation..
My Igbo people now suggests that they're better off with only Igbo speaking Biafra since the "South South" don't want and are insulting them
I've been avoiding this topic because I witnessed the insult myself, but didn't expect the wisest tribe (Igbo) in black continent to succumb to 'our' ( South South) ignorance

It's more painful to me because those who divided us into South East and South South, sold the destructive idea to us and made us feel that we're stronger divided than one Eastern region did not divide themselves, they believe and hold on to a ONE and indivisible NORTH, it pains me most when I see them being the ones to suggest to me that I'm not a Biafran because I'm from Akwa Ibom state whereas I've never for once told them who are Ariwas and who aren't

Igbos are like umbrellas to us, imagine us in Nigeria without the Igbos, we 'll be subdued and conquered without firing a shot, Igbos are taken the bullets for themselves and for us all.

In the history of freedom fighting, some slaves willingly accept freedom while some are begged to accept freedom, so begging, convincing us to accept freedom is better than giving the enemies reason to rejoice by leaving us behind, we all needs each other, we're stronger together .

May this tsunami never settle until the beautiful nation of Biafra is birthed...
God bless the UNITED STATES OF BIAFRA (USB)

Defence Minister, Retired Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi, his Interior Ministry counterpart, H.E. Raul Adesoji Aregbesola and Service Chiefs, in a closed-door meeting on security challenges with all the Governors of the South East geo-political zone and other leaders of the political, religious and traditional institutions in the zone, at the Government House, Enugu, IgbereTV reports.

…As Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, in his welcome address, described the Town Hall meeting as timely and apt, expressing optimism that the outcome of the meeting will engender the watershed to the security challenges in the South East zone.

Gov. Ugwuanyi who stressed the need for all government structures to uphold the security and welfare of the people as the primary purpose of government (enshrined in the 1999 Constitution), said that the consultation with the Service Chiefs and critical stakeholders of the South East zone, on the current security challenges, “underscores the centrality of this security responsibility in our consideration”, thanking President Muhammadu Buhari for this desirable and laudable development.

The governor therefore wished the audience a very fruitful deliberation.

PoliticsSuspend Constitution Review, Conduct Referendum On Biafra - Northern Coalition by AmadiAba(op):
BREAKING!!! Suspend Constitution Review, Conduct Referendum on Biafra, Northern Coalition Tells National Assembly | #IgbereTV

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has urged the National Assembly to suspend the ongoing constitution review to enable Government organise a referendum on actualisation of a Biafra Republic.

It also urged the National Assembly to invoke the doctrine of necessity to organise a Biafra referendum as the final step towards the separation of the Igbo from the rest of Nigeria.

The CNG Spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, who made the call while addressing journalists, yesterday, in Abuja, said that the unrelenting disturbances created by certain interest groups in the South-East, in the form of the agitation for a separate State of Biafra, had turned violent.

It appealed to the government to invite the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU) and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to initiate the process of self-determination that will mandate the Biafrans out of the Nigerian union by leveraging the several relevant international treaties and conventions to which Nigeria is a signatory.

He said: “We demand the immediate suspension of the ongoing exercise for the review of the 1999 Constitution and to concentrate on the first priority of determining who and what actually constitutes Nigeria as a nation in the present circumstance in which the Igbo have foreclosed every hope for the rest of us to continue co-existing as one nation.

“In order to achieve the final separation of the Igbo from the rest of Nigeria, we urge the National Assembly to organise a referendum by seeking the cover of the same doctrine of necessity invoked by Nigeria’s Federal Parliament that paved way for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s take-over by declaring the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua unfit.

“We ask the National Assembly to prevail on the Federal Government to invite the United Nations, as well as the African Union and ECOWAS to initiate the process of self-determination to mandate the Biafrans out of the Nigerian union by leveraging the several relevant international treaties and conventions to which Nigeria is a signatory.”

Suleiman said that the group took the decision to prevent another civil war sequel to the spate of killings and destruction of public infrastructure in the South East region.

He added that the North had continued to bear the brunt of the violent agitations for secession with equanimity, stoical calm and resignation.

He, therefore, urged the North to “remain the bulwark of respect, integrity, dignity, decorum, tradition, decency, morality, civilisation, etiquette, good behaviour, politeness, accommodation and all other positive traits with the assurance that the good will ultimately prevail over evil.”
