Insecurity: Britain Helping Nigeria Military Build Combat Capacity - High Commissioner The British government said Britain is helping the Nigeria military to build its combat capacity in tackling insurgency, including Boko Haram in the northern part of Nigeria, IgbereTV reports. The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing disclosed this after a closed door meeting with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Tuesday. According to her, the British military has had its presence in Nigeria for several years and has continued to offer training on how to counter insurgency in the northern part of Nigeria. “In the North in particular, we are sharing our experiences in counter insurgency from Northern Ireland, from Iraq and from Afghanistan. We have a military presence here. It has been here for many years training your military in counter insurgency and also sharing our experiences. “That this kind of challenges are not solved by the military means alone, ultimately it's about rebuilding trust with the people of this country and having a good offer as well as tackling the underline economic drive, unemployment.” Laing said the British government is offering economic assistance to Nigeria because of the realisation that lack of economic opportunities in the north has made youths in that region to become easy recruits of Boko Haram. “Unemployment, many young men out of work are very easy target for Boko Haram. So we are sharing our experience and in a practical sense helping on the security side and offering economic support to the country to enable that there will be more jobs for the people.” Speaking on the next election, the High Commissioner said the world’s spotlight will be on Nigeria during the 2023 general elections and concerted efforts must be made to improve the country’s democracy. “The importance of these elections, how crucial they are, not just for Nigeria's democratic journey, but for Africa and the world. The world's spotlight will be on Nigeria in 2023. It needs to be a better election, not perfect but better to consolidate and improve Nigeria's democracy, and I think the Governor very much agree with me on that.” The British High Commissioner , who disclosed she had a very fruitful discussion with Governor Wike, said their discussion revolved around the economy, prospects of his vision including youth employment, challenges he is facing and his plans to tackle them. Things are looking up for Anambra's top governorship aspirant, Hon Okwuosa Azuka. His praises have been sung from Ekwusigo, Njikoka, Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum to several other Local Government Areas in the state. Since he began his ward tour early in May, he has received nothing short of support and unanimous acceptance from Anambrarians. Feedback obtained by IGBERETV from the Local Government Areas he has visited shows that he commands massive followership within the state. Anambra is seeing the possibilities of working together to build a more excellent state. On May 11, 2021, Hon Okwuosa met a warm reception during his visit to Anambra East and West Local Government Area. This official visit was his second to both Local Governments. This time, he was received with far much excitement. His aspiration for the governorship of Anambra state was a welcome idea to all who were present, and they were not shy to express their support as they cheered and applauded him while he addressed them. Indeed, they had not forgotten his support to them during the Covid-19 lockdown. According to some present, Hon Okwusa had paid a visit to Anambra West to distribute palliatives during the harsh times of the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown. Speaking with the Local Government Chairman of Anambra East, Hon Ignatius Oraekie, he confirmed that Hon Azuka has the heart, capacity, and charisma to lead Anambra to the desired level of development. The executive chairman expressed his confidence in Okwuosa's ability to deliver good governance to the state if elected in November. According to Hon Chinedu Udealor, a stakeholder from Anam, Hon Okwuosa's commitment to philanthropy and humanitarian services is very admirable and worthy of every commendation it attracts. In his opinion, Hon Azuka is one of the top contenders in APC as regards the gubernatorial elections in 2021. He concluded by stating that Hon. Okwuosa is a man worthy of his support. Similarly, during his visit to Anyamelu Local Government Area in the company of reputable personalities like Hon Barr Ebele Obi, Sir Oseloka Offor, Sir Chris Obiekwe, Hon Ike Ekwensi (Agunechemba 1 of Nkwelle Ezunnanka), and so on, the people of Ayamelum ecstatically expressed their undying support to their beloved statesman. Amidst their appreciation for his past philanthropic gestures to them, they sang songs of praise to show their excitement toward his governorship campaign. Hon Peter Chuba Emeka, a party Chieftain, eulogized Hon Okwuosa as a charismatic leader, a humane and humble brother. The Rivers State police command has blocked entrances to its stations over the rising case of insecurity and attacks on its facilities in the state, IgbereTV has learned. This follows the attacks on three police formations in the state during the weekend resulting in the death of at least seven police officers. According to PortCity, the command took protective measures by blocking the roads leading to their stations with hopes to stop the stations from being attacked by unknown gunmen. This has naturally caused traffic buildup in certain parts of the state, especially the Elekahia-Stadium axis of Port Harcourt. Another axis experiencing huge traffic due to the blocking of the access road is the Rumuokoro-Rukpoku access road. The command had on Saturday confirmed the killing of seven of its personnel by the rampaging unknown gunmen, promising to arrest perpetrators of the crime. https://igberetvnews.com/1389540/unknown-gunmen-police-barricade-major-roads-leading-stations-rivers-state-photos/

The race to clinch the power ticket as the next governor of Anambra State is fast becoming more competitive. With many stories being dished out daily and several parties yet to elect their flag bearers, the tension can only increase. The big question still lies on the lips of most party members, who will we endorse? The All Progressives Congress (APC) is not exempted from this dilemma. With several viable candidates, party members will have a tough time singling out a worthy representative in the general election. However, the spotlight, IGBERE TV understands, has been on the Hon Azuka Okwuosa, aka Mr. Let’s Fix Anambra, who has been endorsed by the legendary Biafran war hero Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. The late Ojukwu was known for his bravery, excellent leadership skills, and solid stance for the Igbo community, especially during the Biafran war. Azuka Okwuosa’s relationship with the late hero, Odumegwu Ojukwu, was a close-knit one that earned him a position as Ojukwu’s political son. He had worked with him for several years till he died. Looking at his track record as a leader, one can deduce that he shared the same ideologies with the late Ojukwu. According to Okwuosa, he met Ojukwu in 1984 after his NYSC in Port Harcourt. The duo met in Lagos and worked closely over the following years. Through his words, Ojukwu repeatedly shared his vision for Nigeria with Okwuosa. This formed the foundation on which his political ideologies and ambitions were built upon. Several years later, these ideas remained engraved in his heart and mind. They inform his approach to leadership and serve as a compass to fulfilling the promises made to the people. A clear show of their closeness is established in 1993 when Ojukwu invited Okwusa to join the entourage to Ivory Coast, to witness the burial of the Ivorian president, Félix Houphouët-Boigny. The entourage consisted of Ojukwu, Late Gen. Sani Abacha, Gen. Obasanjo and other dignitaries. Ojukwu, during his time, referred to Okwuosa as the man that will take over his selfless acts in political leadership. He called him “The chosen one” because he had exhibited the traits of a servant of the people. He often referred to Azuka as his son with hopes that he would uphold his legacy. Hon Okwuosa narrated his journey through the political space of Anambra state and the country at large as being largely successful as a result of Ojukwu’s impact. While detailing his account of emergence and stewardship as a former local government Chairman of old Nnewi Local Government Area and former commissioner in the state under Dr Mbadinuju, Sir Okwuosa highlighted that he could not have achieved such feat without the mentorship of Dim Ojukwu (Ikemba Nnewi) who he served, learned from and followed until death. Hon Okwuosa says that Ojukwu left an indelible mark of greatness and potential in his everyday life and political activities. He added that his political ambition to lead the people was born out of his desire to usher in a true democracy and its dividends to the people of Anambra according to the wishes and convictions of the late Ikemba of the Igbo. For several years, the relationship between the political father and son continued to blossom. It was fueled by consistent deliberations and interaction. In 2003, during the formation of the All Progressives Grand Alliance party (APGA), Ojukwu, the founder of the party summoned Okwuosa to come on board which he immediately did in respect of his mentor. The party represented most of the philosophies and ideals of Ojukwu. Ojukwu stood for the emancipation of the weak and APGA had a “be your brother’s keeper” philosophy, a philosophy that earned the admiration and respect of several easterners. In 2003, Okwuosa actively aided Ojukwu’s presidential campaign under the APGA flag. Despite the loss of the election, Okwuosa was confident in the fact that his mentor had made a huge statement in the minds of Nigerians. If there is one person the late Ojukwu would endorse for Ndi’Anambra to give a try in office, it’ll be Azuka Okwuosa (Mr. Let’s Fix Anambra). There is no doubt that he can take the people of Anambra to the next level of progress. https://igberetvnews.com/1389248/azuka-okwuosa-beloved-son-ojukwu-endorsed-photos/

The political parties in Anambra state have begun to gear up as the gubernatorial elections slated for November 2021 draws closer. Strong opposition has begun to rise against the incumbent administration headed by His excellency Chief Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), IgbereTV reports. The shortfalls of his second tenure have loosened the party’s grip on the state and possibly the South-East region. The dilapidated security, deteriorating roads, neglected educational system and other anomalies have caused many to write off the current government as clueless and incompetent. Other parties like the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and possibly the Young Progressive Party (YPP) are seeking to take advantage of these strategic loopholes. At a stakeholders meeting held last month in Abuja, the APC aspirants for the Anambra state governorship declared their unrelenting determination to do good by the people and for the people of Anambra. In their speeches to the party members present, they expressed their love for their state and confirmed their commitment to do all it takes to bring the state into national focus if given a chance. The party’s primaries, scheduled for 26 June, would produce the candidate that would bear the parties flag for the gubernatorial elections. Amidst several aspirants within the party, three names stand out from the rest. HON AZUKA OKWUOSA Hon Azuka Okwuosa is a former commissioner in the administration of ex-Anambra State Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju. He was also a chairman of the Nnewi South local government in 1994. He has experience of over 30 years in engineering construction under his belt. His several years of service to the state in different capacities give him the required springboard for victory. His position as Ojukwu’s political godson has given him a place in the hearts of Anambrarians. He served in Ojukwu’s courts for several years and proved his worth to the late war veteran. He served as Ojukwu’s personal aide on several tours including Ojukwu’s trip to Ivory Coast for the burial ceremony of its then-president, Félix Houphouët-Boigny. His beliefs align with those of the late Ojukwu and his blueprint for state development shows that he knows what needs to be done and also knows how to get it done. Through 32 years in politics, he has had no record of incompetence or misconduct of any sort. He is also loved by the people for his philanthropic works within and outside the borders of the state. He is responsible for scholarships, payment of hospital bills and distribution of food items to indigenes. His philanthropy is privately funded which goes to show how personally committed he is to the general welfare of his people. The clamour for power to return to the south has further given credibility to Okwuosa’s candidacy. He does not only ride on his experience and his leadership acumen but also on his acceptability to the electorate. SENATOR ANDY UBA Andy Ubah was elected as the Senator for the Anambra South Senatorial District of Anambra State in 2011. He is also an experienced politician at both state and federal level. His connection stretches across and beyond the party walls. Andy Uba is believed to possess the resources required to sponsor the campaign proper to the point of victory. He is supposedly accepted by the people from the Anambra southern senatorial district but not so much by the northern senatorial district. CHIEF BEN ETIABA Chief Ben Etiaba is a chartered accountant and politician. He joined the party two years ago and declared his intention to run for the office of Governor under the party earlier this year. He is another candidate who is acceptable by the people. He has decided to play an active role in government as against playing the complainant role. He believes Anambra is capable of more and is willing to prove it if he becomes governor. He is relatability with the people is a plus to his candidacy. Other candidates include Chief. George Moghalu, Chief. Amobi Nwokafor, Chief. Paul Orajiaka, Chief. John Bosco Onunkwo, Col. Geoff Onyejekwu and Chief. Dozie Nwankwo. The southeast stakeholders of the APC have been eloquent about their determination to win the gubernatorial elections in November. They have asked party members to uphold unity as they seek to heal the wounds of the past elections. This is an editorial of the Youth Nation, Anambra chapter. We are an Enterprise of Youth on a Mission to provide orientation, to educate the uneducated youths in Nigeria to encourage and prepare them for active involvement in decision-making. We aim to ensure that the Nigerian youths are able to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of their immediate environment and the society at large through informal education, mentoring and networking. https://igberetvnews.com/1389172/anambra-polls-top-3-front-liners-apc-victory/

All Public Servants in Biafraland Have 3 Choices to Make - Nnamdi Kanu Issues Last Warning | #IgbereTV The current State Of affairs in Biafraland has made it imperative to Write this open letter to all those Who either through fair or foul means found themselves in positions Of service (to the Biafran People) be it political, traditional, socio-cultural, religious etc. For the avoidance of doubt. the choice of writing an open letter to all these public holders in Biafraland is one made consciously to the effect that not only Shall the sacred land of Biafra bear us witness and also that the living and the spirit of our ancestors shall not find any guile in us but most importantly when they appear before the judgement THRONE of CHUKWUOKIKEABIAMA, He will find IPOB and its leadership guiltless Of the blood Of the innocent Biafrans which these people in positions Of service have allowed to be spilled in the blessed land of Biafra. For a long While we have watched in helpless anger the wanton and deliberate slaughter Of our youths by the Nigerian security agencies. we complained, we cried and we buried our dead. None was ever held accountabre. Now before our very eyes marauding bands of Fulani Herdsmen are desecrating the land of Biafra through their acts of raping our daughters and mothers and cutting them into pieces, even our grandmothers are not spared in this orgy of abomination all in their bid to cower the Great Biafran people into submission and docility as a prelude to their eventual take over and forcible Fulanisation of our land. While evils Were going on and still going on, Enugwu and Ebonyi being present case in point, there has been a resounding silence from those in positions of service. They have remained impervious to the cries of the people. These men and women in positions of service Who are Without conscience, having come to the conclusion that the interest of the Biafra people whom they are meant to serve does not align with their selfish interests and ambition have decided therefore to see no evil and hear no evil. The land of Biafra and the spirit of our ancestors will again bear witness that the leadership of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) made several attempts to draw the attention Of the Governors in Biafraland to the systematic elimination of our able bodied youths by the Nigerian armed forces. Nothing came out Of Our engagement With those governors who instead of ameliorating the situation, invited the arrny to embark on one military exercise or the other which provided them an official cover to continue the massacre of Biafran youths. The IPOB leadership equally alerted the elders, the custodians Of our culture and traditions as well as the leadership Of socio- cultural organizations in Biafraland of the existential treat facing our race as a result of the actions of the Nigerian establishment In conjunction with their proxies such as Fulani Herdsmen and Fulani terrorists in uniform. For a While it seemed as if we have been abandoned and left to a cruel fate of being overrun and totally subjugated by those whose most burning desire is to take over our inheritance and occupy our ancestral land. Fulani Herdsmen Who to all intents and purposes were and are colluding and collaborating With the Nigerian armed farces all of which are headed by Fulani, the leader of the Indigenous people Of Biafra Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu established the Eastern Security Network (ESN) to take up this onerous task Of protecting our forests and farmlands thereby enabling our mothers to go to the farms without fear Of molestation as well as safeguard our race from extinction. The setting up of the ESN by our leader truncated the plan Of the Fulani caliphate in cohort with the Nigerian establishment to make our farmlands inaccessible, and prevent its large scale cultivation which will result in food insufficiency and ultimate!y compel us Biafrans to source our food needs from the north. The second stage of this plan will be to replicate 1967-70 food blockade Of the Biafran territory by Stopping the flow Of food stuffs from the north which will then be followed by the most horrendous and never seen before genocide committed against a people. The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) led by Onyendu Mazi Nryamdi Kanu will not allow a repeat Of the horrors Of that blockade Of the Biafran territories. The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra is minded to state without equivocation that all those working overtly Or covertly to sabotage the Eastern Security Network ESN be they in public service or in the private service of the Fulani and the British government are wittingly (for those conscious Of the consequences of their actions) or unwittingly (for them that have failed to read and understand the hand writing on the wall) helping the Fulani agenda to Wipe our race out Of existence and there shall be no further communication of this sort to you because the beat of the music is about to change into the dance Of the Spirit. To all those Whose singular preoccupation is to sabotage the Eastem Security Network and mortgage the future of our Children and unborn generations for their selfish ambition and for the benefit Of their Fulani masters, the Indigenous people of Blafra (IPOB) led by Onyendu Nnamdi Kanu want to assure you that on our watch shall we permit an inch Of Biafran territory to be ceded to any foreign terrorist Or usurper, we make you a promise that not only shall we defend every inch of Biafraland against internal agents of subjugation and their paymasters, but the whirl Wind that is gathering will uproot and sweep away every obstacle in our match to freedom because the light of CHUKWUOKIKE ABIAMA has gone forth before us to lighten our way and dispel every darkness inherent in the contraption called Nigeria and all those working as her agent in the land of Biafra. All public servants in Biafraland have three choices to make and should hasten to make their individual choices now to wit: 1.Retrace your steps by serving the interest of the Biafran people 2. Desist from collaborating with those Whose only agenda is to supplant us and take over our heritage or 3. Remain in your evil and conspiratorial disposition and let the Whirl Wind make that decision for you and your family. The Miyetti Allah can raise an army of one million Fulani terrorist and hand over to the governors in Biafraland, that will not save anyone who is an agent of oppression in our land. A word is enough for the wise. Signed Mazi Chika Edoziem Head of Directorate of State (IPOB)

About 23 Biafran activists have been placed on the watchlist of the Nigeria Police over alleged complicity in the activities of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN), a source at the Force headquarters Abuja has informed IgbereTV. According to our source, who craved anonymity, Mr Uche Ejike and others are accused of being the masterminds of the operations of the ESN in the five states of the Southeast. IGBERE TV recalls that IPOB had accused the south-east governors of compiling the names of its members to hand over to the federal government. The spokesman of the group, Emma Powerful who made this known to IGBERE TV on Saturday said that the list is being compiled with the support of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and some traditional rulers. IPOB also accused the Igbo leaders of attempting to clamp down the Eastern Security Network (ESN), which it runs as a security arm. “This wicked move was suggested by the Nigeria Government and her security operatives with hope to weaken IPOB and ESN making every effort to flush out Fulani terrorists from our land,” Powerful said in a statement. “Our efforts to stop terrorists in the East have indisputably intensified since the formation of ESN but regrettably, the politicians and government officials including local authorities in some communities in South East are sabotaging these efforts. “The South-Eastern Governors in collaboration with all the Traditional Rulers in the Zone and the PGs of all the Communities in the Zone are compiling names of suspected IPOB members in their respective communities to hand over to Nigeria security agencies for possible executions.” STAY WITH IGBERE TV. Yet to be identified gunmen have killed at least eight policemen in Ohafia local government area in Abia State, IGBERE TV can authoritatively report. IGBERE TV gathered that the gunmen stormed Ohafia in a broad daylight, shooting sporadically before overpowering the policemen on duty. As at the time of filing this report, effort by Igbere TV to speak with Abia Police Command proved abortive as text messages sent to them were not replied. IGBERE TV recalls that unknown Gunmen on Saturday night stormed the Isiala Mbano Divisional Headquarters located at Umuelemai in Imo State. The gunmen, who freed suspects held in the detention facility, invaded the divisional headquarters armoury and carted away arms. According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen on arrival condoned off the Divisional Headquarters located at Umueze Road and opened fire. "On arrival, the suspects sacked policemen on duty, freed suspects, invaded the arms storage department of the facility before setting it ablaze." While IgbereTV had yet to confirm if any life was lost, there are fear of high casualties from the attack. According to The Punch, the gunmen did not flee as they stayed by and supervised the burning of the police facility. The source, who does not want his name in print said, “The gunmen came, condoned of the divisional headquarters and immediately opened fire on the policemen on duty. This was after they had freed all the suspects and collected all the arms. Afterwards, they set it ablaze using petrol to ignite fire. This is very unfortunate.” https://igberetvnews.com/1385664/breaking-eight-police-officers-gunned-unknown-gunmen-storm-ohafia-photos/
