Only a fool does not know why the northerners are considered more political powerful than the east. I don't know why some of you think like stone age men that use every opportunity to denigrate themselves and make themselves appear very cheap before onlookers . The past State creations and future State creations have and will always be based on administrative convenience and balance of development. The Orlu State proposal and reactionof people like you shows you don't know past history nor present history of the areas involved in this creation. No part of the Orlu State is richer than the other in any way. You can't say Uga is richer than Akokwa or Umuchu is richer than Njaba or Umuaka is richer than Uli. Everywhere in the proposed State are full of multimillionaires but they are the most affected by the recent insecurity in both States. The reason the Orlu State is not needed is not because of the fake Anambra ethnicity but because Southeast is small and if you remove Northern Imo and Southern Anambra to form a State the remaining States will be too small and the new State will be a problem as it has nearly same population density as Lagos. There is no land for mega projects except maybe at Ohaji and Oguta LGAs which are boundary and not central. Anioma is the best bet for a new Igbo speaking State while the minorities should also be tolerated.

Onitsha is known by its standard affordable cost of living, lowest poverty rate, highest clusters of industries & factories, highest concentration of billionaires, highest numbers of importers, biggest market in Africa, most urbanized city in Nigeria, Onitsha is among the city in Nigeria with arguably no slum apart from Okpoko that's already getting a face-lift.
When it comes to commercial activities, Anambra has about 290 international and major markets compared to Lagos that has 52 markets.
In 1997, only Nnewi city statistically has about 200 major industries(Nnewi is Onitsha metropoly) Numbers of industries within Onitsha are countless now.
Lagos can only boast for having a functioning Seaport, having many clusters of Oil companies at Ijegun Satellite town, Lagos Island, Lagos Trade fair, Idumota, Ladipo, Mile 2 - Maza Maza Bus terminal(it's arguably biggest bus terminal in Nigeria) Ikeja city, having many foreign consulates, and Chinese & Indian companies.
But most of these economical activities in Lagos aren't reflecting economically to residence and indigenes of Lagos state because of high unemployment rates in Lagos, highest cost of living, high poverty rate, and having the highest slums regions in Nigeria.
Aba is only known for its production of clothing and shoes, there's no other economical activity in Aba that dwarf Anambra.
I'm not dick measuring, both Anambra & Lagos are the most important state in Nigeria, you're the one suffering from inferiority complex by mentioning Onitsha, Anambra & Lagos to your local Aba and Orlu enclaved region.

I'm not saying a new state should seize to be created from South East region, even if a state should be created let it come from Imo state alone, I repeat let Imo state be divided in two fragments.
You should therefore exclude Abia and Anambra communities that detest to ever identified as Orlu state or to share things in common with Orlu folks.

Owerri was a state capital of old Imo state while Orlu was a typical village, and there're so many differences between Orlu and Owerri in terms of
urban modern development.
A city is not only developed by having government institutions or being a state capital, a city is collectively developed by an effort of an individuals and the strong entrepreneurial skills and mindset of the people living in the state or a given geographical region.
Orlu folks should focus more on developing their town, because the self acclaimed Orlu city is not developed and is not business viable.
Orlu can only be developed with the help of Owerri that's a bitter truth for Orlu folks that they don't want it to come to reality.
Orlu city is not way in comparison with Otuocha city, Umueri(Anambra) in terms of good planned layout, economic viability, commercial activities & Industries and urban modern development.
Otuocha city development is the entrepreneurial mindsets of the present Anambra East LGA, Oyi LGA, Anambra West and Ayamelum LGA, Awka and some Ndi Igbo with help of British for city planning.
Otuocha house the biggest foodstuffs market in Igboland.
The same Umueri folks are currently building the biggest International market in Nigeria by landmass(at Ikenga Umueri) without the aid of any government.
Why do Orlu people always embarrass Ndi Igbo by trying to leave Imo State Union? That is why other tribes say that Ndi Igbo do not like themselves, but that's not true.

Most of the rich men in Orlu zone do not have any investments in Orlu region, they're either in Owerri or other Nigerian states.

Anambra and Anioma are brothers as far as Igbo is concern... Atleast everyone noticed the closeness between Ifeanyi Okowa and Obiano during their tenure as governors. Everyone See's the closeness between Elumelu, Ossayi (former Delta dept speaker) and Anambra elites,... We inspire each other to grow Atleast Anioma state will increase Igbos voting power and number of Representatives both in Red and green chember.

Coming to government appointment, the number of appointmentees does not lie on number of state. Tinubu appointed 1 or 2 ministers for each southeast states but each Southwest state is counting 3 or more.
Some northern states are as big as all southeast states yet each of these northern states have more government appointmentees than southeast counterparts.

Coming to development: Development is not when you divide every Igbo community/town into a state. If not, why is Orlu ppl still complaining even when their kinsmen hv been ruling Imo state from administration to administration? Development depends on the ppls mindset and orientation. I can prove it with fact.

You are beating your chest for fiscal federalism as if d SE is ready for it. Talk is cheap, how many SE states joined Rivers State in d suit before d Supreme Court to cede VAT collections to states as it's a sales tax and not covered in d exclusive list? Only Lagos was bold enough, no SE states joined d suit. Infact Ebonyi openly pleaded that VAT should remain as it is because she would suffer immensely should VAT go to states. The SE is as parasitic to the Niger Delta and Lagos as Zamfara and Yobe are, let's be honest here. BTW am Edo, Anambra or Imo doesn't contribute to d federation account from oil as much as we do, no state in d entire SE has IGR even close to us so chill, talk is cheap.
