The spokesperson of the group, said that their members are intact and no one has left their folds. “I don’t know where the Nigerian Army got those people they paraded as our members”.

OHANAEZE Youths Council has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately begin direct negotiation with the detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB], Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with a view to releasing him.

Kanu is facing treasonable charges in an Abuja High Court and is being detained at the Kuje Prisons. Ohanaeze Youths Council urged the president to use the opportunity of the reported on-going negotiation between some Niger Delta groups and a representative of the Federal Government and talk with Kanu to free him.

A number of fishermen have caught the pacu fish, which is a close relative of the piranha and can grow up to 3ft in size.

According to Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources, the pacu fish is being released into the wild by members of the public who buy them as pets and but instead they grow too large for their Aquarium

‘Pets released from confined, artificial environments are poorly equipped to fend off predators and may be unable to successfully forage for food or find shelter,’ said Nick Popoff, manager of the DNR’s Aquatic Species and Regulatory Affairs Unit.

The emergence of Abu Musab al-Barnawi, a former spokesman for the group as leader, has been described as an act of betrayal by the group’s former leader, Abubakar Shekau.

Shekau, in the 10-minute 23-second audio message in Arabic and Hausa said he was deceived, but he will never stray from the ideology of the Jama’atu Ahl as-Sunnah li-Da’awati wal-Jihad which he said had a basis in the Quran.

Nigeria’s Boko Haram Islamic extremists have a new leader who promises to end attacks on mosques and markets used by Muslims, according to an interview published Wednesday by the Islamic State group.
The group’s al-Nabaa newspaper identified Abu Musab al-Barnawi as the new “Wali” of its West Africa Province, a title previously used to describe long-time leader Abubakar Shekau.
The report did not say what Shekau’s current status is.
The interview with al-Barnawi indicates a major change in strategy for the Nigerian extremists, who have attacked mosques with suicide bombers and gunmen, blown up suicide bombers in crowded marketplaces and killed and kidnapped school children. The targeting of students accounts for its nickname Boko Haram, which means Western education is sinful or forbidden.

A woman is dead and up to six people have been left injured following a knife incident in central London.
A suspect was Tasered by police and arrested in the incident in Russell Square that began shortly before 10.30pm on Wednesday night.
The Metropolitan Police said up to six people were found injured and a woman was treated at the scene before being pronounced dead a short time later.
It is understood terrorism is one possibility being explored by police at this stage.

Tragic - A heartbroken mum of a teenager who took his own life after being falsely accused of r@pe was found hanged in her family home.

The family of the grief-stricken Karin Cheshire, 55, said she 'could not see a future' without son Jay Cheshire, 17, who took his own life after allegations of r@pe were made against him. The complaint was withdrawn after two weeks but were said to have deeply affected Jay.

Karin had vowed to investigate the police's handling of the case but her family said she became 'vacant' and 'zombie-like' after his death.

Three Nigerians were ki!!ed by firing squad after they were convicted for trafficking drugs, according to officials of the Indonesian government.

Nigerian Bulletin reports that the three Nigerians and one Indonesian were put to death after midnight on Thursday, July 28, according to Noor Rachmad, deputy attorney general for general crimes. The report said the official was silent on 10 others slated to be executed but were not.

A young woman seeking love on dating website was 'behe@ded' after going on a first date with a stranger. Kristina Medvedeva, who used dating websites, was found lifeless beside a lake on the outskirts of Ekaterinburg in Russia.

Boko Haram insurgents have attacked a team of United Nations (UN) officials and Nigerian soldiers attached to them in an area close to Bama, under Konduga local government area of Borno state.

The attack occurred on Thursday, July 28 when the UN delegation, and other donor agencies heading to an Internally Displaced Persons camp in Bama on an intervention mission were ambushed by Boko Haram insurgents.

A woman has been arrested for allegedly dumping her two-hour-old newborn baby inside a plastic bag and leaving the tot to die.
The 20-year-old mother is thought to have been uncertain about who the child’s father was and decided to abandon it because she did not have a stable income.
The abandoned pink plastic bag was reportedly spotted in Wangjiaoqiao village, south-west China, by locals who were shocked to find the newborn inside.
The child, whose gender was not reported, was rushed to hospital by police for emergency treatment. It is not clear when the incident happened.
But doctors could not save the baby’s life despite four hours of desperate attempts to revive the tot.
