MrCuddles:This is wrong on all levels, and had the Police officers understood the constitutional provisions of the law that caters for the NPF, then they would have arrested the LASTMA officers for obstruction of duty. The police are there to prevent crime and protect lives and property, and that can take them anywhere at anytime and thus are exempt, in this context, from traffic guidelines that are binding on all other motorists. There's no "One-way" for the police, every way is a "Right way" whether against traffic or not. That's why they are the police, it's part of their constitutional privileges. Doesn't have to be when there's a crime in progress that they are allowed to move against traffic regulations. Sometimes, moving against traffic regulations will prevent crime at the said spot from happening. If the police were mandated to follow traffic regulations, then it will significantly limit their ability to fight crime effectively in urbanized societies with a vast road network. Imagine seeing a gang of criminals on the wrong lane and then they first need to go and do a u-turn maybe to get there. The criminals would have fled before they reach them. SeverusSnape:Albinism is a genetic defect quite alright due to lack of melanin or failure to distribute it. But "transgenderism" I would say is a personal notion, that is adopted by its host due to some personal psychological experience, which mostly were horrific in some sort, like rape, abuse, rejection and so on. Every transgender I believe has a tale of woe (many hide it) and transgenderism for them is possibly an escapism from that woe. For example, nobody likes xyz as a man no matter what he does or doesn't do; but xyz sees that females are liked just for being females, and so xyz starts to think if i'm a girl they would like me too...and the transgender journey begins. Check them well, they are all weaklings of some sort. |

And with many of the senior lecturers rearing livestock as a pastime, meant it was part of their hunting habitat and we would and did always encounter snakes regularly. My neighbors would kill them often, and some were really big. Then there were bats. Never seen such a huge bat population ever in all the countries i've been to, and not even in the States. They were so much that sometimes you had a "rain" of bat feces as they migrated within campus. And there were so many drop-dead gorgeous classy girls in OAU back then, so campus social life was ecstatic, although I for one was a bit reclusive since I was a stranger and culturally different. Anyway, it was fun quite alright, especially when you get to compete with squirrels in the mornings for the next ripe pawpaw on the tree and they're cussing at us mean humans . There were mango trees, orange trees and so on. It was really cool during school sessions but a bat cave when sessions are done and students gone home. 1 Like 1 Share |

He was actually a normal boy and lived like a normal man would, up to his university days. It is alleged his anomalous behavior began when he was in 200L or so and he started dressing like a girl, and gradually grew worse: trying to talk, walk and look like one. I've seen him one-on-one a couple of times and you could see an individual struggling to death to change his personality. Some say he was bewitched, who knows. Whatever it is, something happened to him, something unusual. |

SeverusSnape:Yes, really! Was in OAU for 2 years I think, lived off campus, quarters (as they call it) precisely, road 7, if I still remember correctly. The dean of Law then, an Ife indigene and Wole Soyinka hairstyle wannabe ( ) lived on road 7 too. So gossips about the anomaly were abundant in road 7, and it was alleged his dad also lived somewhere in quarters, being an ASUU member. Quarters was like an African safari on its own, and Mother Nature was the queen of the park, sometimes nice and sometimes wicked. Once had baths outside on the field for a whole week because we found a 4-inch thick and about 2m long snake hanging on the bathroom shower and it escaped into the crevice in the ceiling. And twice during that time, some girls would come stare at us during our early baths in the fields around the time of the morning dew before any bit of sunrise. And you could hear them chuckling out loud, Wow . Personally, OAU in many ways was the best campus in Nigeria then, not sure about now - because so much has gone south. Anyway, heard Dapo got expelled eventually, but rumor has it that he was later reinstated to finish his final year exams and graduate: not sure if this is true. 1 Like 1 Share |

He was arguably the most notoriously famous anomaly on OAU campus back then, so much that he was among the campus "attractions" my university team guys wanted me to see. First time I saw him, it was a sight too repugnant to behold. I was walking down around amphi theatre (if I recollect the name properly), and there was this person across the road everybody seemed to be avoiding like a plague. Seemed like a girl at first, and I was moved with pity, wondering why people had to ridicule her because she really seemed to look too ugly from far. And truth be told, her clothing and makeup were just literally a hot mess from distance. So, then I cross over, you know trying to be different from everybody else and wanting to play hero and make this person feel good. As I drew closer to her, she looked more and more like a fashion Frankenstein and I was really beginning to feel uneasy that something just wasn't right. She seemed to be happy and all lit up with smiles seeing this really handsome stranger walking up to her. But fortunately for me, my boys always kept me on their radar as frequent as possible, and just like 3m away from her, I hear a familiar voice screaming my name behind. It was a guy in my research team and he said, That's Dapo. I was startled a bit, because the name had escaped my mind at that point. Then he said, Dapo the homosexual guy we told you about. Then everything made sense. I entered the ride and was whisked away, and you could literally see the horrific disappointment in his eyes. Next time I encountered him one-on-one was during one of my night-out reading sessions in one of the popular reading lecture venues, I think maybe Faj or so (adjacent to the amphi theatre). I like reading alone, so my guys were at some other row at a distance from me. I was the only person on my bench, quite long, and the seating flooring was kind of in descending steps. Think it was around 1 AM, and this really gorgeous girl I had seen earlier at the computer department was on a lower seating and she started beckoning at me with her eyes and later hands, immediately she noticed me. But I ignored her because it was awkward and I didn't want attention on me at the venue more than I was already having. So then the lights go off and it's candle season and the room lit up partly. After a few minutes, I hear some loud mumbling behind, and as I turn around, behold it's the anomaly. He seemed to spot me in the crowd and next thing I know he's sitted on the same bench with me, staring with this strange seductive smile but looking like a breathing scarecrow. I was about packing my stuff and leaving when my guys seemed to mobilize their guys and he was literally man-handled and beaten out of the venue. That was the last time I encountered him up close and personal. But now I see he's really changed a lot, looking fair too, which is really odd because he was really a 'black' person back then. Think they said his dad was part of the ASUU of OAU and quite respectable, or rather ex-dad because rumor had it he was disowned. What a shame, but his choice. If I ever agreed to be out on a first date with her in the first place, then she must already have certain behavioral qualities that are at par with my expectations and social outlook. What she eats and how she eats it, isn't a criteria for me. And if she's bold enough to do this publicly, then she's subconsciously telling me she's probably the daring, crazy, exciting woman...and there's no way in the world that I will, on our first date, let her have all that fun all by herself. No, as an alpha male, i'll spearhead the drama myself . When you escalate the tension on a first date in a fun, crazy, exciting, unpredictable way, she'll gladly want to jump in your bed faster than a cheetah can hunt down a prey. Isn't that the goal, or is it how she eats / doesn't eat that is your goal for going out on a date? We all know Nigeria has had thieving leaders in various past governments (inclusive of the military era), but this past administration took "thieving" to a whole new level of wanton profligacy that even the certifiable thieves in government circles publicly accorded themselves sainthood in relative terms.
