#IfWalmartComesToLagos will Kashamu be the cashier at the drug section? ![]() Whoever came up with these "controversial" tweets deserves to be promoted. Sahara Reporters will probably trend on and off twitter for the next few days, lots of traffic generated, their company will be advertized for free globally by emotion-driven Nigerians and so on...and eventually translate to greater income with the least effort. What an excellent business strategy. This is the kind of person l like to employ - a street smart fellow who understands his job terrain very well (or better yet journalism smart in this case). |

oduastates: What if Walmart were to have a zoo department! |
chukwudi44:I think the rightful "local champion" in your equation is Saraki because has no political clout beyond Kwara. Tinubu on the other hand, has been dining on the table of national politics in Nigeria for quite a long time, even during the previous military era and with the fiercest dictators in Nigeria's history like Abacha - he survived it all! Don't presume me incorrectly, Tinubu isn't a saint. But I like to think of him as a political "Vampire Hunter D", you know like a political vampire that preys on other political vampires in Nigeria that have ruined and are ruining the country. General Buhari tried to win the Presidency 4 times. The first 3 attempts was purely a Northern affair and he lost consecutively; on the 4th attempt, however, there was a political marriage with the "amala politicians" and their "amala politics", who became all-inclusive and the backbone of the political offspring APC! Today, he's no longer General Buhari but President Buhari. If you think it was just "votes" that defeated the PDP, then your political viewpoint is shallow. PDP were already defeated even before the elections: psychologically, socially...etc! The elections were just the formality to make PDP's defeat official. I'm not sure what your political orientation is, but I think after effectively ruining the self-acclaimed infallible all-powerful PDP (an uncommon political feat) and turning them into a political relic of defeat for future generations, no sane politician that aspires for political greatness in Nigeria will take the "amala politicians" and their "amala politics" for granted anymore! Beyond all this, Tinubu has nothing left to prove to anybody. He was the "lunar date" that re-aligned all the "political stars" in Nigeria into his orbit, the likes of OBJ, IBB et al! Until somebody else finds a way to separate this alignment, APC will remain in power and Tinubu will always be relevant. They didn't call him the "Lion" of Bourdillon by mistake. Just as Lions like to hunt in the dark and they hunt best in the dark, Tinubu works his political brilliance best behind the scenes. |
chukwudi44:The Jagaban isn't Almighty but I think mighty enough to have led the APC to national electoral victory, mighty enough to have spearheaded the conquering of PDP inside its political fortress... So, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the political T-Rex of the new democratic dispensation, can and will eventually through his party. Jonathan is an "ex" president today because of people like Jagaban, how much more will Saraki become an ex-Senate president in a short time, unless he makes amends with APC leadership quickly. Jagaban, retiring his political opponents since 1999! |
front247:A one party state? Well, that's a real possibility but it's not APC's fault the PDP is a party of thieves and dimwits who can't organize themselves to form a credible opposition. I think right now, PDP is still bickering with themselves about how the election monies they stole were shared. The remaining parties don't have national appeal because they have confined themselves within their tribe. So, a one party state might eventually become the reality for now. |
Ugik:Do you know how many impeachable actions Obama has done as POTUS, yet the (smart) Republican party reined its members in not to make any move for his impeachment because it definitely would have been political suicide for the party in the 2016 upcoming elections, because of the enormous goodwill Obama enjoys from a very significant US population, simply because he's the first black POTUS? If Obama were a Caucasian, he would already have been impeached. That's why Obama behaves politically like a spoilt child because he (and the Democratic party) knows due to the first-of-its-kind history-making political status he enjoys, he'll get away with almost anything politically. Kind of like the "I'm aware that i'm rare" notion, and preferential treatment is given and misdemeanors excused! However, in PDP's case, with APC having the controlling numbers substantially in both the Senate and House of Representatives, there's little or nothing they can put up as resistance to effectively oppose Buhari's agenda as President, especially when PDP is full of dimwits. I'll reiterate that PDP is undoubtedly APC's b¡tch for now - they have no choice but to play along, and make some hullabaloo noise as they crawl behind their new political master. And knowing how politically savvy APC is, PDP will surely be APC's b¡tch for a very long time. |

Editor1:After mercilessly and relentlessly stealing Nigeria almost to death without any remorse in the last 16 years, is this the best plea bargain PDP can come up with ![]() |

SeverusSnape:It's terrible to see that Nigerians have accepted oppression as normal, and have adjusted their lifestyles to a political system of oppression that has been running in the country for so long. It's so bad that most of the society have been brainwashed to the point that the oppressors are labeled as the "heros" of society, yet here's a country where even the so-called "middle / working class" are nothing but decorated slaves within the system. To buy a land and build, the system is such that a Nigerian has to pay the "land owner", the government, (directly or indirectly) the palaces, the palace militias, the touts of the palace militias, the touts of the touts of the palace militias, the riffraffs associated to the touts of the touts of the palace militias and so on. And yet these political oppressors and land violators will be the first to label as despotic any Nigerian government that doesn't tolerate their impunity and seeks to enforce its statutory duty as the true sole land administrator in the country. The gods must be crazy indeed...and soon enough we will make them bleed to death too ! |
SeverusSnape:If you want to legally own a land in Nigeria, you'll have to pay for it or inherit it from someone who paid for it, and this goes for every citizen except...the brazen palace folks who think themselves as demigods. They want a land, they just claim it and attach some bogus fairytale to it and they are not to be challenged; in fact, it virtually becomes abominable and punishable not to accept their unverifiable claims hook, line and sinker. Then you see them automatically just have vast lands, sometimes running into thousands of acres, which they NOW SELL off to people, and sometimes at ridiculous sums. Does this make sense to you? It's unacceptable. The age of scientific reasoning is gradually coming alive in Nigeria and in due time we will bring the political dispensation of kings to an end and send them to political oblivion. As more critical thinkers are making way into the Nigerian government circles, we will push for the government system to evolve, and there will be an inevitable clash: science vs the ancestral gods. Nigerians will eventually find out that the "gods" can bleed - and bleed to death they shall ![]() |
DaSilvaFemi:The Onikoyi should show us the receipts of purchase for the lands and case closed; but wait, he likely can't because, em, the lands are ancestral lands that were freely bequeathed to him by the ancestors, who inherited them freely from the ancestral gods, who are the original land owners but aren't even Nigerians to begin with! Smh, Nigerian kings have been stealing choice lands with impunity throughout Nigeria since God knows when. |
Maser:I believe Stanford University isn't in Nigeria or a Nigerian school. And I wouldn't want to expose myself to your kind of ignorance and hypocritical ridiculousness. |
Proffdada:Hippos have been scientifically verified and proven to be meat eaters too, so in reality they are omnivores. Although they are largely plant eaters, they do consume meat like carrion leftovers from crocs etc, and in fact they have been proven to predate sometimes, deliberately hunting down prey like impalas etc while trying to cross a river; and even practice cannibalism where they intentionally kill and eat themselves. You can check out YouTube for videos documenting hippos eating meat. And do you know there are more human deaths recorded by hippos than lions? So you might want to repaint that benign plant-eater hippo perspective you have in your mind. Hippos are very wildly dangerous and violently aggressive creatures. They don't always attack because they are threatened or encroached upon. Sometimes, they attack simply because THEY CAN and WANT TO. https://uk.linkedin.com/pub/leejiah-dorward/93/a72/b30 *Leejiah made a recent publication on hippo cannibalism. http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20150116-the-diet-secrets-of-hippos-herbivore-or-cannibal |
kITATITA:Why not place yourself in a situation where an hippo is trying to slice you with one bite into halves, then ask it, "What happens to conservation?" and find out whether it'll conserve you ![]() |
Trending:The last place anyone without impregnable protection wants to be now is a place where human sacrifice with non-indigenes is a norm, not to even mention at this time the boyfriend of the mystical sea goddess is alleged to have kicked the bucket. Maybe 10,000 or so heads would be decapitated in Osun State and particularly in that demon city Ile-Ife, who knows - if you get captured, you might find out. For the non-indigenes residing in Ife, better not talk to any stranger or any familiar entity you know is of pagan extraction, and avoid physical contacts, particularly hand shakes. Public transport, markets...etc is one viable sources they will be relying on. One shake is all it takes and a victim automatically becomes a numb puppet that does their bidding and no one around will suspect foulplay and those who do won't come to the victim's aid because they are part of the pagan society. So don't think it's just a night thing, no, the daytime is when they'll hunt for victims the most and most victims will become "magically" missing during the day. This is because most people's security consciousness automatically kicks in at night and people tend to be more careful during the dark hours; but during the day, many people feel safe under the sunlight and subconsciously turn off their "security consciousness". This is no joke, sorcery is real - and Ife sorcerers are certifiably among the baddest evilest sorcerers on the planet, with spells, charms and all kinds of mystical weaponry that are dangerously potent. Unless you can walk on the sea like Jesus did, or you're leading an army of ruthless virulent sadistic murderers seeking to take over the world like... , then don't try play hero. God won't save you because your monumental stupidïty will piss him off. |
Mogidi:Lions are reputed to sleep up to 20 hours daily, which implies in 4 hours they can do what no other predators can do: take over the jungle! Now imagine what APC, a pack of lions, will do in the Senate. Don't be fooled by their initial "sleeping". If you don't believe me, ask the PDP. |

shachris:Sorry old man, it's no longer business as usual. Advocating APC does the same things PDP did in 16 years that almost ruined this country is utter insanity. What matters is appointing people who can get the job done, every other thing like ethnicity, religion...etc is totally irrelevant. The dawn of a new Nigeria is upon us. This kind of retrogressive thinking is incompatible with it. |

SeverusSnape:Many so-called "born gay" folks were actually victims of rapë during their childhoods, some as far as their toddler years. Some later recover psychologically, but some don't and these are the ones I think who usually make such "i-was-born-gay" claims. Being gay isn't genetic, if it were, then it would be scientifically transferable on the genetic level and within the human gene pool - but it's not. It's a psychological thing. Sometimes, it's due to depravity, sometimes maybe some have set their minds to want to explore things beyond what is considered normal in nature, some are just outrightly insane, some are just adhering to the popular zeitgeist in the world...and so on. The reasons are variegated, but truth be told it's a choice. They chose to, no matter whatever scientific lies and unfounded theories they come up with trying to make themselves acceptable to human society as being normal. But that's their problem, not mine. If any one chooses to live as an anomaly (gay or what have you), I don't have a problem with that so long as they don't violate my space and my interests. Otherwise, then i'll give them hell, simple! |
IYANGBALI:With romance? ![]() |
SeverusSnape:No, there's no correlation between these, well, not that I know of. Low testosterone levels in men results in low energy levels, low libido etc; and I think low estrogen levels in a woman indicates there might be a problem with the ovaries and she will be exhibiting similar symptoms consistent with menopause. So, I suppose that transgenderism is a psychological issue. Not everyone has the mental stamina to cope with the traumatic vicissitudes of life they experience, and this is one of the possible results when some people's minds have been messed up really bad. Mental illnesses, in my opinion, are by far the most complicated to detect and/or resolve because most times there's no quick fix to it and it might take a prolonged treatment and a whole lot of time. Probably 80% of the human society are "crazy" in some sort of way but half of them don't even know it, let alone to seek treatment. Just look at Nairaland for example, crazy people of all sorts are here ![]() |
Incorruptible:Go figure, she likely just had sex with somebody else! It was one of those "I don't know how it just happened" scenarios girls often claim. She's calling it quits with you because either she's feeling too guilty and ashamed to admit the truth to you, or it's with someone she has strong feelings for but was in denial and denial is no longer necessary. Let me make something categorically clear that you "small" boys don't understand: there's no vacuum with a woman, never! If one man is exiting, better believe another man is making an entry. If she not talking to you anymore, doesn't mean she's stop talking. No, she's talking to somebody else. Get my point? |
