Congrats to the fresh queenites, idiaites, awoites,mellanbites,tedderites.kutites(great men),bellites, katangites(Indites) and the balubarites( the ever hilarious and charismatic zikites). FYI. It is a great privilege to be allocated to an hall of residence at the premier university. Stale students are apt to tell u what it takes to enjoy this opp- that abut on being an exco in the hall,a first class or having big guns in the university who will influence the process if d stalite is lucky anyways. Congrats once again. To my guys in zik... Twale! Will give u a recipe on how life in zik hall is asap. I will make it an onus to complimentarily give out tips and formulae that will come in handy for every fresgmher that has a penchant for smooth ride on campus and excellence(7 points things) on this thread. B4 I rest my case this am. Lemme drop some facts abt UI and UITEs as I am fond of. 1. 98% of the staff and students of UI do not know how to sing the anthem of this great universitiy by heart. We fumble helplessly. Even our ogas at the top need a book to flow with the beautifully composed but mind-bending melodious anthem. 2. Halls with a close proximity to the administrative blocks like Queen Eliz, Mellanby.Kuti, Bello and Tedder have a greater power supply than other halls that are distant to/ from the admin. 3. UI students are highly funny with their modus operandi of staging a protest. We protest against unfair treatment, dark out and water scarcity et all mostly at night when no one sees our face but hears our voice. It is either we have no liver or our liver has no secretion. Who wants to face SDC. SDC is the student disciplanary committee. Good morning everyone. More facts loading just stay glued to the thread and never hesitate asking questions. laryom1:In UI, students of MLS offer all and even more than we do in MBBS esp in the 1st semester. It has become a principle here that once u are in a professional dept. Dream of other things order than switching your course. It will look demeaning to allow crossing... That is the mindset of the professional courses collossus. Vet med,pharm , MLS are greatly professional. |

To all CBNites( freshers in FAC of science, COM,tech and likes). I would love to recommend to u a good ipad,tab or PC. It is not an option for anyone who wants to be carried along with stuffs. Stuffs mean slides and presentations for your courses. All lecturers teach us with slides and most are kind enough to release them after d lectures for the day. Pls, it is either u borrow or steal one if u can't buy one. I can be your partner, just call me if u want to steal one esp that whose owner is the only child of a military man I will drop other success formulae on on this thread. Just fold your alms and follow up. If u need the slides and presentations beforehand. I am best known for that after whining dexterity 3 Likes 1 Share |

Lemme drop some tips abt UI and her students here from my little knowledge of what I have seen,heard and encountered If u meet a uite and he/she does whine or flatter u after uttering more than a statement, doubt his or her studentship. Everybody whines in UI. Take it or leave it Most uite do not admit to have jacked enough even though dey have read the slides and material inside out. In short, we are humble and lowly with repertoire. N.B. Some may be showy Have u been intimidated b4? If no, don't be curious u are welcome to UI. If yes, u need to take heart as there will be unimaginable put pragmatic intimidation. U will see Waec results that seem to be marked by d waec candidate him/herself. A1s will roll and flow like 7points in Ges107. That is not the end, mobile KDLs(library), CBN nerds( oppressors) and reading room majors may cow u to the core. All Na wash anyways Dollybirds seem to have ño footprint in UI. I used to think most beautiful girls are deficient in the upstair's acad arsenal. In UI, reverse is the case.They are as bright as kilode. In fact everybody is bright in UI. All freshers in UI are entitled to free foods on Sundays. Freshers welcome will be so thick on campus that u may be tempted to pray for it to hold on the working days. Pls, utilize the opp and attend as many as u like. I did go but not all, had friends that went for virtually all if not all. Lest I forget dont pass by CASOR's own oo(biased). Will write more if u crave for them. Bye for now 6 Likes 1 Share |

Personally,i will not advocate any move from a fresh student opting for a bq. To me, staying in the halls of residence allows u to move stuffs with brains, grease info accessibility, discover how to deal with and manage people and relate well with pole(expedient for a doc to be),solicit brotherliness and togetherness,more fun, augment to your 100 days experience et all. All protocols observed with reverence. Now that the preclinicals battle has begun, I deemed it politic to draw out plans to scale through the anatomical, physiological and biochemical mountains. But I realised I needed to rapport with intrepid soldiers who are already equipped, versed and informed with a focused view to having an auspicious head-start and a stunning big picture. Where is the best place in the world to find them? Says my heart . If not on this awesome thread, where could it have been? Pls, I stumbled on some medical test books and I realise the ease of getting depressed sequel to the large volume of stuffs to cover in a little frame of time. How do u handle this? Consistency has been d common best advice for a green medic. What is your definition or is it just abt jacking everyday? Do u skip dissections to create more personal study time? Now that a distinction in my college is 80%... I can't imagine its remote possibility. With d new syllabus thingy in UI. I learnt we would round off BCH,anat and physio in 8 months and subsequently start path and pharm even b4 MB1. Hmmmnn. Is prep towards MB1 enough to ace USMLE step one or is there a decrepancy in the syllabuses of both? Time and space won't permit me to go further. Kondoboy: he did Oau predegreee...then thre was 2nd choice and I think in his previous UME, he chose EKSU as second choice and was granted admission for MBBS while doing predegree...at d end of predegree He was one of our best students in Oau PD and was granted MBBS in Oau and MBBS in ui which he chose as first choice in that year's jamb.....Bro Vincent I salute u ooooooWow! How come u know much abt me, though, knowing u scarcely? A predite too? Ur name pls if u don't mind? Thanks |

FOLARORI: pls tell me did u did d offered course n av u been finally given mbbs ...I am happy to tell u dat through God's grace, hardwork and diligence, I got d offer to pursue MBBS in 3 different public universities subsequently, namely, EKSU, OAU AND UI. Determination can bring higher dan ur imagination. |

FOLARORI: Thanks to everybody that has contributed solely on my matter ... Jazaakumullahu khaeran ... @ laryom my scores r 235 and 60 respectively ... Unilorin has been very cruel n atrocious to me , despite d fact that i'm an indigene n i'm also from their catchment area ... It's very bad for their image ...U ve got to take heart. Don't falter but have faith. Was once offerfed soil science but i repudiated it without demur. In my heart of hearts, I knew i wud neva be fulfiled with dat. Looking back ova to my life. I realise dat every situation i encountered was, in d end, for my greater good and dey always made me stronger, stuffyer and more resourceful person. Neva give up. Hit it harder and of course prayer wise. |

idris4r83: i dont think wasting 1 good year to the same course in UI is a good decision o. if the ESUTH is accredited by NMA why waste 365 days of your life just to obtain the same certificate at the long run. you musnt be a UI graduate to achieve what u want to achieve in life. the only option u gave that is worth considering is the school fees aspect else theres no much difference in any NMA accredited medical schools in nigeria.Seconded! D fee is only d thingummy to worry abt, overthrowing other rationales. A nice thread. I wudnt say I am a product of Oaupd but of God's extravagant grace and mercy. 2012/2013 session. D recap of what pd is abt is d maxim dat says diff strokes 4 diff folks. Made 84.4% even with no greater dan 3 full days of lecture in 2nd contact. Missed quite a few towards d culmination of d 1st contact. My friend who had d highest in bcp(86.2) cud count with his fingers, d lectures he attended(stabbing more dan 90% ). It is not advisable tho, but it's much more advisable to do what works best 4 u.
