Leumastimi: Smh So what about me that i am in medicine Don’t just assume rubbish— My opinion is that Agbami thinks 2014 MBBS/BDS award winners are graduates now. Likely the reason they didn't send verification mail. Come to think of it. Unilorin , UNN, UNIZIK etc MBBS 2014 intakes are doctors now. I school in UI and other schools like OAU, LASU , UNILAG etc still have MBBS 2014 intakes in school as finalists now. Agbami should probe well oo before. |

I am feeling very terrible having wasted money since the beginning of this year.
I made quite some amount from cryptocurrency via bounties
I wished I had invested them instead of keeping them in my account and spending them recklessly.
Now, I am in for TB and would like any recommendation on the bank with a good interest to start with.
Thanks |

Hey guys
If u are out here and u are feeling akward or miserable about your post utme scores, come on! Wipe your face and stop gnashing your teeth, stop wishing you had a better score.
Failure is an integral part of life
Every successful scholar has failed in life at least once
Don't let your performance weigh u down, seek a way forward- fail forward !
U can learn from me
I didn't meet the cut off for medicine after writing oau putme the first time, I cried and cried but that didn't solve anything
I comforted myself, determined to go after my dream, this time with more passions and desperation
I tried the 2nd time choosing a state university , I got admitted for medicine but I was not satisfied
I wanted an ivy league 9ja institution
I wrote jamb the 3rd time and behold I got medicine in Oau and UI
Moral: U can achieve your desire if you believe in yourself and are desperate enough to pay the price. It comes with a cost - Hardwork
Another jamb is barely 5 months away, hit it harder next time! Start preparing now. Early prep pays off
Oau predegree form ends on Monday 30th, u can try it out too. Best 20 selected for medicine and surgery (roughly 200k)
Advanced level programme(Cambridge)is a nice option if u can afford it (roughly 500k)
I am Vincent Tobi, 400L, med and surg dept, University of Ibadan
I hope my story inspires someone out here today
Bye guys and best wishes |

Health › Re: Yes, It Is Not Impossible. 'AA' Can Marry 'AS' And Give Birth To 'SS' by AmbFitsaint(m): 9:50pm On Jul 15, 2017 |
sainty2k3: YES it is not impossible, couples that are AA/AS can give birth to SS , this is how 1. let me differentiate between haemoglobin genotype and haemoglobin phenotype To get a particular GENOTYPE you have to do a genetic testing or use two or more of the screening test (the conventional electrophoresis that we do + HPLC or other similar test) to confirm the true genotype while hb PHENOTYPE is the appearance /characteristics of an individual haemoglobin on conventional electrophoresis which we loosely refer to as GENOTYPE Most times when we call ourselves AA,SS,AS we are actually referring to our Haemoglogin PHENOTYPE and NOT GENOTYPE, as most of us don’t do genetic tests, all we do is haemoglobin electrophoresis 2. lets explain the concept of thalasemic trait. Thalassemias are quantitative defect of haemoglobin which means some one can be AA but the one or both A in this person is is absent otherwise known as thalassemia minor and major respectively. If such person run haemoglobin Electrophoresis( the test that we always loosely regard to as genotype) only A band will be seen and such a person will be regarded as AA. But they are also prone to anaemias and some certain abnormal features in the blood depending on the degree in the reduction in the defective A . such individuals can be Aβ-Thalassaemia(otherwise known as thalassaemic trait) if one of the’ A gene’ is normal, or β-Thalassaemia major if both are affected 3. lets merge the two concepts above and form AND SEE THE DIFFERENT PHENOTYPE THAT EXIST AND THE POSSIBLE CORRESPONDING GENOTYPE If PHENOTYPE is AA the likely GENOTYPES will be AA , Aβ-Thalassaemia If PHENOTYPE is SS the likely GENOTYPES will be SS, Sβ-Thalassaemia (MEANING THE OTHER ‘A’ THAT WOULD HAVE MADE THIS AN ‘AS’ IS TOTALLY ABSENT) Others might include SD,SG etc though these are very rare If PHENOTYPE is AS the likely GENOTYPES will be SA (NOTE – ‘S’ COMES BEFORE ‘A’ BECAUSE THE A IS THALASSAEMIC, THOUGH NOT TOTALLY ABSENT AS THE ONE ABOVE ,IT IS SUSBSTANTIALLY REDUCE), or truely AS 4. Lets assume this our hypothetical couple have Hb eleterophoresis done and was told that the genotype of partner 1 is AA, and that of partner 2 is AS ,but the one that is called AA is actually Aβ-Thalassaemia as ealier mentioned. There possible offspring include I. AA, If the child inherit the normal A from partner 1 and another normal A from partner 2 II. Aβ-Thalassaemia ,If the child inherit β-Thalassaemic A from the partner 1 and normal A from partner 2 III. AS,If the child inherit normal A from partner 1 and S from patner 2 IV. Sβ-Thalassaemia If the child inherit β-Thalassaemic A from partner 1 and S from partner 2 Note that scenario I above will show AA on Hb electrophoresis, scenario ii will show AA on electrophoresis, scenario iii will show AS on electrophoresis and scenario iv will show SS on electrophoresis I have tried to simplify the medical terms but if you still have a doubt or clarification ask and I will try to shed more light, as much as I can. Na you oo Even consulatant haemotogist no sabi these stiffs wey u just move |

feyibada520: Hello docs.. I intended to study medicine and surgery at the University of ibadan but my weighted score was not high enough.. It looks like I would be offered physiology.. Do you think it's possible to cross to mbbs after my 100l.. I heard that UI stoppI'lled allowing students to cross to mbbs.. How true is that??.. Thanks a lot To all UI aspirants who want to cross to medicine or dentistry Yeah, it is a wise decision to make The requirement is easily attainable U can cross from physiology, biochemistry and human nutrition only Gone are the days chemistry students were allowed No to crossing from physiotherapy, nursing, med lab science and u name it Making a CGPA of 6.0 out of 7.0 avails u the opportunity of becoming the medic u wanna be Though might be lesser sometimes just as 5.4/ 7.0 waa the cut off this year sequel to some divine manipulation I wish u guys all the best I joined this thread as an aspirant without any admission Read stories here that inspired me Asked questions that opened my eyes Saw comments that encouraged me not to give up on my dream Worked on myself and prayed to God Read fervently and trusted Him to have His way in my life Got 3 admissions to study medicine and surgery later. Chose one after consultation Started the nobel race With focus, determination and grace I am a clinical student today and will be starting my surgery posting 2moro Morals of my story : U might be an aspirant today, dat does not mean u can't tell a different story years to come Ask questions, read expericiences ,be determined, be strategic and have trust in God |

Unavoidable2: In Bowen university, they finish anatomy, physiology and biochemistry in 300l. Then there's 400l intercalated( they pick either of physiology or anatomy or biochemistry to finish like normal Bsc students. They do their project work and get a degree in whichever they pick). Then 400l Mbbs when they start immunology, microbiology, pathology...they write their first mb at the end of 400l first semester. Then they move to the teaching hospital in 400l second semester and continue. This is unique I admire this system How many MBs do u write? We write 4 |
