No. 2 days after status on CIC account changed to Approved.

do u mean it took just 2 days after ur passports got to Accra to have it approved and get a PUM? that is quite fast

It took 2 days.

wow I am speechless.indeed our God is still in the business of performing miracles.congrats wishing u all the best.how many days or weeks did it take u to get PUM after sending your passport to accra
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Ambidextrause: 11:21am On Feb 26, 2018
It took 21 days for application status to change to "approved" on my CIC account, post "passport received" at Accra. Then extra 2 days for PUM. Usually after PUM, DHL delivers three days after you authorize them to "pïck-up."

ewa2014:
Congratulations this is a mind blowing testimony... I look forward to sharing mine soon too...

Can you pls share when exactly you sent your passport to Accra... and how long before PUM. Thanks

You are correct. That's another point I also hammered on when I elaborated the unfairness . I was not even asked to present an updated POF while others got the opportunity to. Thank God for His mercies.

Guitarlife:

The second tweet is applicable in your case although the Case officer should have given you the chance to provide update POF.
The rate did change a lot during that period from about 220naira/1CAD to 290naira/1CAD

In fact, that was one of my points. I even attached a tweet from their official account confirming rates are locked at eAPR.
Guitarlife:
Congratulations to Ambidextrause but his case throws up quite a number of questions.
Earlier on this thread it was stated that indeed after AOR flunctuations in exchange rates would not affect your POF.
But this case proves otherwise.

Can we all weigh in on this ? Veterans ?

Hello Good People,

I got PUM today!!! And I wish to share my story as a testimony to God's glory and in the hopes that someone might be encouraged, inspired, and motivated. (This post may be a bit long. Sorry)

AOR was July 25, 2017

At first, my application was refused. And as I read the refusal letter with shivers down my spine, I figured the VO based his/her decision singularly on insufficient funds. I was beyond crestfallen. I could not even wish that on my enemy. It came on an afternoon and I thanked God I did not drive to work that day cos I would't know how I would have fared behind the wheels. More painful was the fact that the rejection/refusal came after 134 days of agonizing wait! I had been so expectant since I felt I had satisfied every requirement. Meanwhile, a spike in FOREX rates around early August 2017 had relegated my POF below the LICO by 330CAD. Can you imagine that?! undecided undecided

I bottled it up. Never opened my mouth to tell a soul. I did not want to share the heartbreak with my family and close friends who knew I was on this train. So I reached out to my e-friends on this platform, chief of whom are Blackbuddy, 40manlappy, and GlitteringStar for solace and advice. I felt the reason for refusal was flimsy -- they thought so too. I was going to appeal!

Now, up until then, it's not been a common thing to see a refusal decision reversed. But my case was going to be different as I went to God in my unspeakable pain and disappointment. I cast all the burden on him with hope and faith. As advised, I sent the first email and raised a CSE showing that I indeed satisfied the POF requirement, with updated POF attached. After 3 days, my appeal was rejected. It was so devastating but I kept my cool. While me e-friends were following-up and asking for updates, I only told them IRCC were yet to respond. I kept praying. One week passed. Two weeks. Nothing. So, I sent another email, trying to make them see my point. I was begging for mercy, as advised. Failed again.

I had given up, turning my sights on PNP as my CRS had dropped to 427 and no chance of having the draws smile on me. This was January this year. Then on one Sunday evening, Tosin, who also experienced same, reached out to me again, saying I couldn't just be quiet and be waiting or just give up. Then I heard a little voice saying I should try again. I sent another email on Monday but instead got a refund of my RPRF. Damn! I caught a cold that night. Managed to get home. Struggled through the week. Then God provoked me himself - a colleague of mine, who applied after me, got PPR. We congratulated him but I was very sad deep inside. Mine was coming, I shrugged. That night, I drafted another email - this time stating my utter displeasure and showing the unfairness in the refusal decision - and I sent it directly to the minister! I remember I said a silent prayer before clicking the send button: Lord, don't let this one return the way others did.

The next day, I saw a notification, my application had been reopened. I was asked to pay the 490CAD RPRF. I returned the money they had earlier rejected back to them. 3 days later, I got PPR! Now happening so fast I could barely remember the pains I had felt a month ago. I was overjoyed and broke the news to my family and friends - they did not know the underlying story, did not need to. The devil is a liar!!! grin grin grin

AOR to PPR = 184 days

I want to appreciate the selfless efforts of everyone on this platform. And to those of us expecting one thing or the other on this Canadian journey, God will make it all end in praise. Thank you all! God bless!!!

And Wura27 should be ready to add me to that WhatsApp group. grin grin grin grin

This is correct. Average cutoff for the 1st half of 2017 was 417.

Who knows their strategy towards meeting the higher 2018 target? Keep the faith!

Just to encourage people still in the pool (still in the pool as well)....crs score for Jan 2017 was also high and it started dropping around April or so....so I'm positive it may follow that trend....Just be hopeful and keep praying.

Just wondering how he arrived at a CRS of 436 when he is still considering taking IELTS test.

Man needs to be calm and strategic.

Homguy:
Yes, you can. It's very likely this year as the govt. of Canada plans to increase total intake of immigrants.
My CRS score is 435, and I am very very hopeful.

PS: he's been consistent too!
Can't wait to begin my one-on-one rapport with him! Just waiting patiently...

Blackbuddy:

Hi, you can also get tinned palm oil from the Asian (Chinese) stores like Grant's Foodmart at 3415 Dixie Rd, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B1. It's right at the intersection of Dixie and Bloor and they also have beef, goat and fish, even fresh point and kill right there. Also try African Caribbean Grocery at 63 Dundas Street West, Mississauga. You will get palm oil in small kegs there as well as gari, semo, melon and other Naija staples. All the Oceans Fresh Food Market stores (Chinese owned) have assorted fish & meat selections with entrails if you want. In this winter, pepper soup is a must to help you cope for the 5 months ahead.

For more meat, try Kabul Farms Supermarket at 255 Dundas St West in Mississauga. If you don't mind going far then Laurie Meat is good at 1696 Jane Street, at Jane and Lawrence West, York/Toronto but I personally prefer Sisi Meats at 2734 Jane Street, Toronto. The owner, Dominic, an Italian, is much neater than Laurie and I always go to him for full goat. If you can get some friends together, you can buy a whole cow and Dom will split it up for you guys.

For occasional cooked meals, try Village Suya at 900 Rathburn Road West, Mississauga. Evcen oyinbos recommend the place. Another one to try if you like to stroll is Get Grill at 7910 Hurontario St, Brampton. Hope these help.

My PPR story.
...
I was stuck later because my POF showed review required in my GCMS. Its was written in capital letters that THE PA HAS FALLEN BELOW REQUIRED POF OF 12,300. And my case was left to pure discretion of the Visa officer and the hand of God.
Today its PPR because I never gave up, I knew my downfall wasn't the end of my life and that someday I will smile again.
Nothing can stop you except you chose to stop.

As long as you're a FSW (and not PNP), you can land anywhere. That's the only caveat, my friend.

Yea, that's true. There was a spike in the rate early August.
Congrats, again!

Feygbe:

Thank you. I used Oanda as the currency converter of choice. So it was about 285 CAD to 1 Naira at time of submission. I put in extra 70,000 in case of fluctuations, thought it is locked at AOR.

Awesome!

What rate did you use that amounted to the 12300CAD as at AOR?

Feygbe:
As promised, here is my story:

- IELTS: LRSW 8 8.5 8.5 8 One attempt
- CRS: 413 ITA cut off: 413
- POF: I edited amount Post-ITA to exactly 12,300CAD and did not write LOE. Gift deed was 90% of POF from my uncle. I got the bank reference letter in CIC format from UBA, so I did not attach statements of accounts.
- NOC code: I edited the NOC code post ITA and did not write LOE.
- Employment: I used my NYSC experience from 7 years ago alone. Got a reference letter from ppa and that was all I attached. No complimentary cards or proof of payment. Presently unemployed as well.
- I submitted schedule A upfront as I had 3 US visa denials in the past.
- LOE: I attached LOE in individual placeholders as needed eg LOE for FBI PCC in Police reports, LOE for gift deed in POF etc. Non-specific ones were in LOE placeholder.

Can you have gaps in employment? YES. Can you apply while unemployed? YES. Can you edit NOC and POF post ITA? YES. Can you use a gift deed? YES. Can you use NYSC? YES pls! Was I determined? YES. Was I the most qualified? NO! The Lord looked upon me in His mercy and love and honoured me. I remain forever grateful.
My gratitude goes to Mummyjaygirls, Wura27, 40manlappy, LordSebastian, Cypha8, Temitope06, Java47 and numerous others. Thank you for replying my PMs, sending formats and answering my numerous questions on the forum. Nairaland family is the best!
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. I am glad I took that step.

Your story is quote catchy.

But does this feedback below mean you're good to go now?
Case cleared?

revlane:

I wasn't and if I am asked I will find money ASAP. I posted this for Pre-AOR people. Each application is unique and you can be penalized for something while someone else is favoured. For example, some people get rejected for missing PCC while some get ADR for missing PCC.
