Future focus meets with buyer in a public domain and even before the start of their business, buyer starts to dish out subtle innuendo that she would drag his behind should she not get value for her money. She also at some point mentions that she is an IT guru, which may be why seller decides not to interfere in her choices of tab, (I wouldn't too since my customer claims to know what she wants). Mind you, this is their second meeting. First was a disaster as buyer requested for an exchange and thus warranted this second meeting.


Days later, aunty contacts seller complaining about the tab which she selected herself, without reaching a reasonable or unreasonable conclusion, she brings it here, wearing her full armour of market women war, played mind games to garner sympathizers.

If seller had known things would end this way, he perhaps would have threaded more carefully.


Now, the bone of contention here is that after dragging his name, reputation, esteem and manh**d in the mud, some are of the opinions that he should refund her. Note that she made the choice of tab herself, claimed to have an understanding of these things, seller claimed that there was a tab that could access YouTube, but she didn't pick that. Normally, in such cases, exchange can be negotiated, but you demand for that apologetically and not with a blazing tongue.


Should future focus pay for the mistakes of another woman's choice? I have two degrees in IT- related courses, but I would never brandish myself as a tech guru. I ask questions like an amateur and give off that vibe, first to know when a seller wants to swindle me and also to get the best from the honest one. Even when the truth is clear to me, I would still ask and go on the Internet to check again.... And I am sure that is what most people do....
The damage she caused here is irreversible and I would not agree to the refund. Can the dent on his name be completely ameliorated? Then maybe they should meet half way on refund only after the aforementioned has been done. Pardon any typographical errors or mix up in tenses that you may see...na sleep cause am.

I got a kids tab for my son from the US(Amazon Fire),knowing fully well that though it runs on an android version,it does not support "playstore" therefore cannot run the Youtube app unless you stream directly from the browser.

When my little son started dragging the Tab with his brother, I saw this seller's advert here and decided to get a used Amazon fire from him for the little man knowing fully well the limitations,when I met him,he brought all the tabs he had and I went through all and selected the ones I needed-One Amazon and One Huawei- When I got home the Amazon has issues with charging and I returned it and he replaced it and due to the version of the Huawei,it does not support the current updates on the Youtube app, so you can only stream youtube from the browser.The tabs he sells are second hand and older versions and you do not expect same functionality with the newer versions at such prices.

The man is nothing near a scammer ,this is just a little misunderstanding that the two of them could have handled outside this forum if they were matured .

I am not taking sides with anyone oh, but if I were the seller, the offer for refund would be off the table the moment she brought the issue here to "tarnish" my image. This issue would have been resolved off nairaland with ease, in my opinion. The seller would have lost a few thousands, but this dent on his rep (I am assuming he is legit since people have come out on here to vouch for him) would not have been created. If seller is a scam as we all are portraying, I think he would have backed off from fighting this course, deactivated and created a new moniker... Or even refunded to save face.


Madam buyer, ma'am, to some extent, I believe you, but I also believe that you took the wrong approach. You started dancing even before the band started playing. I have come to realize that vawulence doesn't solve a thing. You complained the first time and he obliged your requests, what makes you think he wouldn't the second time? It is normal to drag legs after a second complain, but he would have regardless. You did not come on here to demand a refund, you came here to "tarnish".


Let us not always be itchy to come here to discredit sellers, especially if what we ordered for is what we actually got. I understand that sometimes what we ordered might not do as much as we would want and in this case, it is still our fault for not understanding the functionalities of the item we are about to purchase... Should a seller be blamed for that?

Both buyer and seller should discuss offline and come to a reasonable conclusion. This time, drop your horns and ego aside.

Ai told him that I was willing to exchange the two tabs for one with bigger version (I bought the 2 for 45k) he kept on saying I should keep going to the market to upload videos what do want me to do at that point?
