Babachair Lawal did not write this junk. It’s those people running scared of Osinbajo. Leave the man alone and let him contest. We only have 3 weeks to go. |
JOemmy:I guess you started listening to Mazi Kanu in 2016. Go and watch his broadcast videos from 2014 to 2015 and hear what he was saying. One famous Kanu quote was that he has never seen where people gain their freedom by peaceful means. And a promise to unleash violence on Nigeria and burn it down. Buhari was not on the scene then. |
Mynd44:Yes. And some of us warned them that cultists and armed robbers only fear SARS. Now, they are operating freely. |
Coolsperm:Some actually want Jonathan to take back power, the same one that allowed Chibok and many terrorists activities to happen. |
They are scared of him. This is going to be Atiku’s playbook when the real campaigning begins. |
Authoreety:He does not have the legal powers to call for a referendum. And there was a constitutional review recently where this would have been debated but it was not on the list of bills to debate. |
ufotunang:Would you also support dialogue with Boko Haram and ISWAP? IPOB would be destroyed. And then a peace loving agitation group would take it place and would achieve more via dialogue and negotiations. |
Zico5:And you think it is normal to kill innocent citizen in your agitation? This madness is solely the fault of Nnamdi Kanu. He has brainwashed a lot of his supporters to believe that Biafra will come through these violent and murderous acts. Sad to say, Biafra under these circumstances is as far as heaven is to him and his band of killers. And those supporters from the region and their families will suffer more. |
Nothing wrong with commissioning projects. Most of the USA is already built up, and there are probably more state projects than federal projects. So I would expect the governors to be doing more of the commissioning than the President. They run a proper federation unlike us here. Meanwhile, the Turkish President commissioned a bridge a few weeks ago and it was huge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4ELpzyV19Q |
JAMO84:Thank you. |
Lovelive:You obviously don’t have peace on your life. And so it will remain until you condemn the evil that is Nnamdi Kanu and his band of drugged up killers called ESN/Unknown gunmen. Sunday Igboho invited the trouble he got by threatening the peace of the country. No government will sit back and allow a citizen to carry out his threats. At least he has had a brain reset from his time in jail and is now preaching peace. We are still waiting for Mazi Kanu to renounce violence and preach peace. But we go wait tire. |
gidgiddy:It’s the courts that will decide if Kanu has committed any offence. All these people calling for his release should just let the courts do their work. |
What is the truth? Say it again, let us all hear it. |
If Nnamdi Kanu and his troops want VIP treatment from government, then they should surrender their weapons and renounce violence. And commit to following non-violent and legal means to achieve their dream nation. Sunday Igboho has already renounced violence. That is the sensible thing to do. |
Minime10:It shouldn’t be difficult to me a few of them. At least we know there are over 5,000 Boko Haram operatives are being held in jails across the country. Where are the VIPs? |
Who are the Boko Haram terrorists getting VIP treatment? |
But there isn't fuel scarcity anymore. |
Abdullah36:It’s not too hard to read, just a bit of patience. Its clearly stated that construction started in 2018, September to be precise. So where did a decade come from? |
NwaNimo1:Like the Lekki “Massacre”? |
mrvitalis:Nigeria definitely needs restructuring but this means different things to different people depending on which region you are from. Hence why it would be difficult to satisfy all zones. But we need to start from somewhere. For me, lets start here... 1. They should start with a phased increase of derivation for oil producing states from the current 13% to 50% over a 5 year period. The ultimate aim should be to grant 100% resource control to states for Onshore oil fields. Offshore oil fields should still be kept under Federal Government ownership. 2. Reduce number of House or Reps from the current 360 to about 100. And then gradually phase them out and only have Senators. 3. Merge some states together over a period of time to reduce the numbers. The ultimate aim is to go back to the 6 regions we used to have before. ...and the list goes on and on. At this state, I wouldn't include state police. The cons outweigh the pros at this very unstable time for the country. |
mrvitalis:There is nothing in your post that I didn't cover in my response. Didn't Jonathan win an election (political process) with enough votes in the North (lobbying)? There hasn't been any concerted effort by IPOB to get supporters from other regions to join them and their representatives to push for an amendment to our constitution. All IPOB has been doing right from the beginning is abusing and threatening Northerners (mostly Fulanis) and Yorubas from the South West. Have they ever attempted a political solution and lobbying? If IPOB are not interested or do not believe in a political solution (And it is obvious they don't), then they can continue along the lines that they believe in and face the consequences. But they should not expect others to join them. |
gidgiddy:I wouldn't call the North Central "Northerners" when it comes to voting for constitutional change. Half of them will support the agenda of the South (Kwara, Kogi, Benue and possibly Plateau). So a good campaign can force a constitutional amendment but you will also need some Northerners to support you. South HoR = 169 (47% Senators - 51 (47%) North Central HoR = 49 (14%) Senators - 18 (17%) North HoR = 142 (39%) Senators - 40 (37%) |
mrvitalis:To demand restructuring, you have to start by pushing for an amendment to the constitution to include Referendum. The governors will have to lobby (including bribing) their region's House of Reps and Senators as a start, and they in turn would have to convince their colleagues from other regions especially those from the South South, South West and North Central. Everything else is playing to the gallery by those who just want to scatter everything. The SE is getting a taste of what happens when you allow thugs and cultists to lead you to freedom from a perceived oppressor. From day 1, Nnamdi Kanu has been baying for violence and blood and abusing other ethnic groups that you would need. That was the wrong way to start the agitation. Now the movement has more enemies than friends, making it more difficult for lobby others to be on your side. |
nairavsdollars:The contract to build the bridge was awarded in 2018. And them COVID came in 2020 to disrupt construction. Sometimes, it good to appreciate efforts of those trying to improve things around us. https://www.thecable.ng/fg-awards-n206bn-contract-for-2nd-niger-bridge/amp FG awards N206bn contract for 2nd Niger Bridge |
MisterMan123456:Factor in COVID and you would understand how huge this is. |
okeysoninv:And how much would 24 F-35s cost? |
johnmartus:So you believe there are no Kidnappers or armed robbers of Southern origin operating in Abuja, Kaduna and Kano? Or you only want criminals of southern origin to operate in the south since we also have our own kidnappers here? All criminals should be dealt with harshly, whether southerners or northerners. |
realstars:Which one? The comment from the imam or the one attributed to Obasanjo? |
