Until Grimaldi issues an actual listing of the whereabouts of each vessel - nothing is certain though.

In the USA at the auctions it seems that Nigerian money has built up waiting to see what happens back home.
So if Jonathan appointed Sanusi Ado Bayero MD to be head of the NPA.... will he be kept on after Buhari's office takes control.... ?
or are we likely to see further uncertainty?
One thing markets do NOT like is uncertainty.

One of the steamship lines that we work with has significantly dropped their rates on shipments into Nigeria.
We can offer an "all in" price for loading 3 or 4 vehicles into a 40 ft container at our Newark NJ warehouse - $3,350.00

United Arab - 30 -35 days transit sails weekly.
They also have dropped their 20 ft cntr rates to an extremely low rate, That is allowing us to offer $2200.00 for a single car loaded into a 20 ft cntr.

Our customer base in the USA has stated that any increase has been delayed until the upcoming election.

It must be killing the import side - I know the volume of vehicles has nose-dived off East Coast USA. It has the larger steamship line companies concerned.

What do you forsee ?

Opening Nigerian manufacturing locations for auto production is a great long term plan..... BUT what about the people that work at the ports in Nigeria now and the business and employment provided nationally by the import and sale of used vehicles?
Seems like further increase in taxation on imports (used vehicles) would be detrimental to the entire country 1 - 10 years span....
That along with a combined Nigerian economic down turn from Crude Oil price manipulation - would be catastrophic.

Gentlemen - we too along with everyone else are seeing longer than acceptable wait times with Grimaldi for Ro/Ro. Has any one used Eukor from the East Coast of USA into Nigeria. We have been selling their service successfully (which happens to be considerably cheaper). No complaints as of yet. The good thing is that They actually give you a proper cut off date at their USA East Coast ports and the ACTUALLY sail their units when they have committed to it....
Any comments or thoughts ?
