Travel / Re: Foreign Friend Traveling To Nigeria. Any Suggestions? by AmeriNaija(f): 9:50pm On Aug 16, 2011
OK THanks! Are there specific nightclubs, shops, restaurants, eatery, etc he should go to?

I've heard of Bacchus, Club Do It All, La Casa, Volar, 1145, Motherland, J's Palace, and Club 21. What are these places like? Thanks in advance all.
Travel / Foreign Friend Traveling To Nigeria. Any Suggestions? by AmeriNaija(f): 4:13pm On Aug 16, 2011
I have a great friend who is traveling to Nigeria in a few weeks and he wants to know where to go what to do. He's an adventurer and loves to have fun. he's also cultured and likes to experience different things. (He's Indian-American). He'll be interested in places where the locals and also definitely where the expats/foreigners go.
He wants to go to great places to tour, shop, eat, party, and just experience. He will be in Lagos, Ibadan, maybe harcourt, and also in rural areas away from cities visiting villages.

any great suggestions. ( also suggestions of areas to stay away from)

Food / I Eat Dry Gari Everyday. Is This Healthy? by AmeriNaija(f): 2:48am On Apr 21, 2011
For the past months now, I've been taking dry gari and just eating it.  I;m addicted.   I know it's may be strange but i really like it that way and have tried to stop but find it hard to.  Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any health complications to doing this and also, how much carbs does gari have?  would this hinder me in losing weight? (yes, this may be a stupid question, lol)
i eat about half a cup to 2/3 a cup a day.

Romance / Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by AmeriNaija(f): 11:56pm On May 11, 2007
legry:

This is the problem i have with women, the need to get an answer to a question that you already have the answer too. Why do you people do this to yourself, HELLO!!! you are dating for what 1-2 months and he already slaps you and why because of a telephone call, and now you ask if you should give him a second chance, why don't you get him some boxing shorts, gloves and shoes to match.

LOL! hilarious and very true.

to the poster:
any guy who would slap a woman is a wuss and has no decency, no respect for you, and no integrity for himself.
any guy who would do this after a month of dating has balls!
plus the fact that he told you to put your call on speaker is a big red flashing sign. Run away and don't look baaaaaaaaaack.

you should forgive him. accept his apologies. right after that, kiss him on the cheek goodbye.

Romance / Re: How Do I Handle Nigerian Men? by AmeriNaija(f): 10:37pm On Mar 18, 2007
It;s not a Nigerian thing. It'a a MAN thing! Ladies, I highly and strongly suggest you all purchase and carefully read the book, "Why Men Love Bitches." Don't let the title fool you. It's not about being a mean or bad person at all! It's actually deeper than that,
Romance / Re: I Love Nigerian Women! by AmeriNaija(f): 12:12am On Mar 10, 2007
my comment: No hate to my AA sisters and bros, but really, the cause of the divide started from the same prejudice they gave to us that was given to them by whites.

Sista:

@AmeriNaja

You are angry with African Americans for being ignorant and picking on you as you say when you first came to America. You say they did this because they were exhibiting what was done to them by white people so you seem to understand why they were so ignorant. However, me as an African American who is in this topic giving my opinion, you say I am not entitled to that opinion because I am not Nigerian, you make me laugh. How hypocritical of you to come down on me for not seeing my self as different from Nigerians yet you say you told African Americans they were African just like you?
You are the kind of Nigerian that would deny African Americans any part of their African Ancestry because you yourself takes part in what the white man has deprived you of and exploited you out of in your own country, that is why you are here in America and don't tell me colonialism is a thing of the past.

No one has anger toards AAs, as you can read from my statement that i said "no hate" PLUS the topic asked "Who is to Blame for the Divide between Africans and African-Americans' and i came to my opinion that AAs were. Don't bring a quote from another thread and not disclose what it was about.
In addition, I told AAs that they're roots were from Africa, not that they were just like me. Let's clarify that.

And please, get off of that tantrum box about me not wanting AAs to identify w/ their ancestry. As u can see from my quote i tried to make AAs remember where they came from. My issue with all ur comments is that it was so hateful and angry and u knew ppl responded to u as a Nigerian. why didn't u clarify that? the guy came here for Nigerians, not black Americans. I think he tried to explain that to u a few times.
And finally, as a Nigerian, the white man has deprived me of nothing.
Romance / Re: I Love Nigerian Women! by AmeriNaija(f): 12:00am On Mar 10, 2007
*sigh* i rather not bother with a response but unfortunately i will:

your following comments show that you are pissed off,

You say you have traveled all over the world, which part of the world did you travel to and meet with Nigerian women? If you met them as you claimed, you still have not told us what is so special about them that you prefer them over a British, Peruvian or Hispanic woman. Tell us, what have you learned in your travels about Nigerian women which has made you become so interested in them, to the point that would make you come and post that you want to meet Nigerian woman. I think it is very suspicious,

Hey dummy, if I was to judge by your photo, I would say you are not handsome at all, you look like you have a pot belly. Do you think Nigerian women like pot bellied, wish they were fully white, men? I forgot to add, fake British.

Bull shyt, and you know it, why are you specifically trying to get with Nigerian women in this forum? How come you don't just like women as opposed to Nigerian women. You think you are flattering Nigerian women, not a pot belly like you. Your up to something, maybe you want to see if the stereo types of Nigerian women are true. You don't even know Nigerian people

and that is just a few. One really shouldn't be soo upset about bejarano coming here requesting Nigerian girls but if one is to be upset, I would expect that from a Nigerian! Your opinion is welcomed but not your animosity. Knowing that you are not Nigerian, what made you so upset at bejarano's offer? Was it that you weren't Nigerian yourself??
plus, i clarified that u were not Nigerian b/c many ppl thought u were and replied to ur comments as so. So did bejarano I thought it was necc. to reveal u weren't. smiley

At least I know I am not Nigerian. You on the other hand seem to want to have it both ways. Your not American but you would like to think that you are by refering to yourself as AmeriNaja. I don't care if you like to call your self that name but don't go talking about I am not Nigerian and because of that I shouldn't be saying what I have been saying in this topic.

I keep telling everyone I don't think of Nigerians as Nigerians first, I think of Nigerians as Africans, black people an extension of me and I am an extension of them. Also, I am proud to be an African American and all that entails.

You are clearly the hypocrite questioning my name as "Amerinaija' while you call yourself an "african American.'
I am 100% Nigerian raised in America. I have every right to call myself AmerNaija.
And let me school you a bit. Many, if not all, Nigerians think of themselves as Nigerians FIRST then as an African. A Nigerian (or any other African for that matter) will never introduce themselves as being from Africa. They will tell you 'I'm Nigerian" or 'I'm Senegalese." The only time they will say "African' is if they think the person they are speaking to is ignorant enough not to care/or know what country they are talking about.

Romance / Re: Why Do People Close Their Eyes When Kissing? by AmeriNaija(f): 12:57am On Mar 06, 2007
all humans naturally close there eyes when they kiss someone, even kids.

It's because the point of the kiss is not to see but to feel.  To feel the person's lips or just feel the sensation of kissing.  it makes it more passionate, blah, blah.  Some people will have their eyes purposely open for a few reasons:

they're interested in seeing the passion on the face of the other person
they do not want to kiss the person
they are startled
they do not mean the kiss
they are weirdos
Romance / Re: I Love Nigerian Women! by AmeriNaija(f): 12:47am On Mar 06, 2007
okay, i have to say this: what is all the hate about

A non-Nigerian says somthing bad about Nigerian girls and we get crazy
A non-Nigerian says he loves Nigerian women and we have 42 questions.

Sadly, it seems all the 'nail him to the cross' action has to do with the way some of u are viewing us as Nigerians. When men talk of their love for Asian girls, it understandable. When they say 'oooh, i like those indian girls', there's no suspecting. But someone comes here and say he digs Nigerian girls (not to say there aren't any 419ers), and we got the witch forks out. Are we not understanding of our own hotness, beauty, class, and aura?

I have no prob w/ nonNigerian and/or whites digging us. I date whomever myself. But i have to say i couldn't stop cracking up over afrogerman's response:
"na wao ! shoooooo! , see me see oyinbo man . queen pikin; if i catch you with any naija babe , ego red for u, abi u no dey fear face!!"

lol! now at least afrogerman knows what Naija girls have and doesn't want any other non-Naijas to have it. wink
