Hi ya. Three days ke. Does that count as a relationship? You can be funny eh.
Lol. Ferdy, all relationships aren't romantic!

I'm sure that's what you refer to as relationship but that word has a much bigger meaning than boy/girl mushy mushy things.

Jaz hon.
I must first apologize for replying your mention late, that's a big blunder on my part...

About your last update, babe honestly, I shudder ... lol, some guys are making me look like I'm the one with a problem of intolerance whereas they are the ones who know next to nothing about being chivalrous.

That guy missed it. In fact, it is becoming too common these days, guys missing it since we entered 2016. Lol. If you know what I faced in just last weekend! I broke up with a guy I met on Friday three days after! lol

Shortest relationship of my life!
I will give you details, trust me *winks.

I know . Let's look at this this way

1. People who you interact with can cause you pain , grief , sorrow even predicaments

2. People who you interact with can cause bring joy to you . And you need to bear your predicaments caused by 1 in mind to enjoy your happiness and be thankful .

3. People you interact with can bring both sorrow and joy .

4. What about loved ones who didnt make it to heaven ?

etc

So how would the memories of these events involving 1, 2 , 3 and 4 be expurgated . Let's be realistic undecided cos you'd be having flashes of happy life on earth without remembering how you got there . E.g Loved ones that who made you happy but failed to make heaven . I mean you'll feel sad and sorrowful immediately and that's not in accordance to what is written .

I think a divine awareness of a new life would be installed in us , not needing to remember our past lives . You know like a new born baby , no memories , just ready to start his life
Mmmh...
I really can't say but there is no scriptural backing to this thought pattern though. However, those books that give testimonies of people's visit to heaven and hell (I don't call them authority in the subject but...), they testified of seeing people they know and even recognizing Abraham and Enoch and other patriarchs the moment they saw them in Heaven.

I believe when we get there, it will be like a reunion sort of *smiles* and for those who may miss it, their loss won't steal our happiness full time. It may just be like meeting your mum for instance and after the excitement of reuniting with her, you ask of a cousin or someone and she says something like, 'oh no, I haven't met the fellow yet' and you both will just shrug and hope for the best or be sorry he missed out. I still want to go back to Lazarus again, it wasn't Lazarus who felt depressed seeing the rich man in hell but the rich man was the one crying 'Had I known'.

Amicable, do you experience such? Thought I was the only one.
Lol.
You are not alone Karl, at a point I started forcing myself to read posts that were long to the end because I feared I may be suffering from fatigue or something. It only got worse. Long posts, except in cases were the story is intriguing and there is suspense involved, bore me.

I prefer the short paragraphs and enough spacing style of typing so I can follow through to the end.

It is written wink :

Isaiah 65:17

17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.

If you think I gave a wrong exegesis of the text , then pls do show me
Lol

Read vs 16 of that chapter, reference was made to the former troubles being forgotten, not the human beings you interacted with being wiped off your memory. You will be forgetting the sorrows, the pain, the animosity and troubles between parents and children, all those things will be things of the past to be forgotten and remembered no more in the new heaven and the new earth.

This scripture even has a follow up scripture in Revelation 21.

Then they'd be taken down easily . You'd prevail if you stand by the truth

The waiting place for those who died in Christ
Ok. Yea.
Now why do you think we will have no memories of our lives on earth? We won't be able to recognize people? I find that hard to believe.

When Jesus was asked about the woman who married about seven husbands on earth after losing the first, then she remarried and he died then she married his brother and the tragedy struck again and again ... they wanted to know which of the men will claim her as his wife on the resurrection day, he responded them in Mark 12: 18-27. So even though there will neither be marriage nor giving in to marriage,I believe there will be relationships, familiar relationships.

No . Its not scriptural . And its because of purgatory Catholics are morally depraved . They are culpable for any decadent society where Christians are preponderant . They believe peccadilloes will be dealt with mild punishment before they'll go to Heaven - now that's the reason they commit sin .

Can't you see Latin America and the high crime rate there ? Its mostly Catholics that perpetrate these crimes and every damn time I defend Christians there knowing fully well that its because of their doctrine - purgatory - their adherents engage in vices .

Sorry for digressing , I just wanted to let that out of my system smiley .

Should we now proceed to the next ?

Pls, dear literature-landers, your constructive crictisms will go a long way to help me plus corrections.
Nice job so far. I love that the posts are short and easy to read. It does make for quick reading devoid of the boredom that comes with very long posts.

That being said, I noticed your tenses kept changing. There's no uniformity, one time you are using past tense and another time you are in the present tense. You need to be consistent. And then I understand how difficult it can be for writers editing their own works, it is very difficult! You may want to just go over the posts again slowly and make some corrections in places were you typed some words twice and all those little errors.

Your setting betrays your language (the use of big big grammar by old mama in the village undecided). Mama's spoken English is far better than mine cheesy. Please give mama simple words and mix it local dialect where possible.

You are doing a great job at story telling. May your source of inspiration not shut down.
I expect to see more chapters. Kudos!

Thanks amicable09 for your response . The guy was not in heaven but in Abraham's bossom - a place where saints when they die wait for Judgement Day . The story is also allegorical .
You are welcome.

Christianity EtcRe: To Christians And Muslims: Essential Questions About Heaven by amicable09(f):

2. This question is for Christians.

The bible tells us that in heaven some people will have a reward greater than others, in form of mansions, according to the amount of souls won for christ. For this to be possible, it means that every saint will still possess the ability to understand the importance and quality of this reward. If not, then God would have given everyone equal numbers of mansions. So, if someone understands that someone else's reward is greater than his, won't this realization breed sadness and dissatisfaction? How about those who don't have any reward at all? Would they be happy seeing that some other saints have been greatly rewarded while they aren't?
I've gone through all your questions and I'll love to give a short answer to all the questions you posed on here with this post.

As much as I know, it is only in books written by people who claim to have died, gone to heaven and returned back to earth that I've seen things about inheriting bigger mansions and all that sort of thing. I know from the bible that for those who win more souls on earth, will get crowns that are filled with stars, the more the souls won, the more stars you'll have adorn your crown. That shouldn't warrant any form of unhappiness or jealousy. In fact, up until now, I've never thought about any reason for unhappiness in heaven until you started mentioning relatives in hell who should have been enjoying with us in heaven, as a result of which sadness will creep in and rob many of their joys.

Just like sibling rivalry here on earth, there are families that no matter how successful and famous one out of the bunch of them is, they still love one another and constantly wish more success for the successful one while seeking for other means to lift the ones that aren't doing well. In Christendom, more than anything else, we pray for the conversion of all our loved ones and all lost souls who are in the dark, who the bible refers to as people whom the god of this world has blinded their eyes, we pray for them, it's the main reason for evangelical work on Earth. We do this while they are still alive because no repentance in the grave, not even if prayers of forgiveness is offered after one has given up the ghost. It will rather be too late for such a one.

So, in heaven there will be no night nor day, no mourning nor weeping. It will be a place where people who have fought the good fight can beat their chest to say i have finished my course. And how 7 years or 1000 days will be calculated is the business of the ancient of days to calculate. I'll not break my head trying to worry about how those years will be calculated. I don't have the answer to that.

We'll sha keep praying that everyone of us make it to heaven, there's enough mansion to go round grin

cheesy ...

This is from someone that believes that he wouldl die and be gone forever . undecided No memories , nothing . Fails to exist after this life .

In heaven , you memories will be cleansed . Past memories like pain and sorrow can affect your life in heaven . I dont know if your memories would be taken from you before or after you are given your reward . I don't know how these events would take place . I am working with was written .

These are specious arguments . Your arguments would reasonable if we are experiencing life in heaven and its not a satisfying experience .We are still on earth and you are questioning the future . undecided After they'd claim they operate in logic and reason
Hi Ebuka, we'll still retain our memories of the past i.e of our lives on earth when we get to heaven.

Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus in Abraham's bosom? The guy remembered his family members and pleaded for Abraham to send Lazarus to go and preach to them for their salvation so they won't end up in hell like him.

@ Decker, I just saw this notification today.

Heard this painful news this morning on radio and I felt sorry for the bereaved friends and families. It is indeed a painful loss.
Birthday celebration turned into mourning.
May God grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

I'm worried though about where they will be buried... their hometown or by the beach side?
Some years ago, a neighbour who died while traveling on sea was buried by the river side and they said it was whether tradition or something of that sort. I'm curious to know, is it ATR or where does such practice stem from? undecided

Send a mail to CustomerCentre@Keystonebankng.com... add your bank account number (leave out BVN), the branch where you did the withdrawal and any other information you deem fit. Don't give out your ATM card details please.

Also, fill out the complaint form on the bank's website. They'll look into it as well.

Be sure to have your account credited with the 7k latest next week. Very important.

You haven't been defrauded. Opening a thread to ask for help in rectifying this issue is not the appropriate action to take.

You created this thread when banks are still open, you should have walked into the banking hall after you discovered the shortage but you rushed first to create a thread. There may be an automatic reversal after some minutes though. The whole thing is automated. You can't be defrauded.

Go and lay your complaint in the right place. Keystone bank no get branch for Nairaland.
