Dahveydson:Ma binu Prof Dave! I forgot things have changed.... The boss is the proletariat! Lol. |
James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning". Vs. 21; " Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls". Proverbs 23:23 "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom and instruction, and understanding". 2Tim. 4:13 " The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments"!. All from KJV. I love Apostle Paul's writings a lot, he was indeed very learned. |
Adaobi12:I do dear. It's my battery, kinda low now... will post my Scriptures later. They are many *winks. I love the game by the way, kudos. |
Let me book my space first while I rush to grab my big Bible! Brb. BTW, lemme tag the following; TollyB Jazmiynne Moyarh Ksstroud Abimbawealth Abimbex007 Dahveydson Lero15 Beau49 Share your favorite Scriptures guys (3-5) Battery low... |
Moyarh:Hahahaha. Mo! I'll tell him to do that. Happy weekend dear. |
Dahveydson:Lol. Not exactly Dave. This one is not just giving a man fish but also teaching him how to fish. |
Moyarh:Nah Mo! Nothing to apologize for. I understand you too. You see, there are many people who have been with a particular coy for 15 years, probably because the management style there is favorable and they are progressing on the ladder of the organizational structure. But unfortunately, this man isn't in such environment I guess. I don't see anything wrong with him being there for 15 years since he hasn't been sacked, his pay should have been increased because clearly he's adding value no matter how small. The security guy in my own place is from Borno. I engaged him in a convo while teasing him and calling him Hausa man! but he strongly refuted and told me he's not Hausa, and I'm like you're from Borno state na! The deeper I pressed, he opened up to me that Boko haram bombed his entire family at home and he escaped to Lag. Only him survived. He wasn't employed to man the gate because he has a degree or school leaving cert, I asked the manager and he said, his decision not to join bad company back in Borno and here in Lagos is enough to encourage and compensate him with a job. This is the kind of bourgeoisie I admire, not someone capitalizing on the 'weakness' and dependency a disadvantaged adult has on his superior. |
Moyarh:Mo that's not the issue. I don't know him personally for one but like I said, he called and spoke on radio about his sorry state. I won't judge him for earning the same amount of salary for 15 years and I didn't blame the government but bourgeoisie in that instance, his boss (whoever that may be!). Now let's say he is a security guard, what improvement are you suggesting he should have done? You may say he should have sponsored himself through school and earned a degree but I ask, how many M.Sc holders do we have today earning below 30,000NGN? MANY!!! I know them. So, what are we saying? That the guy should have taken the risk of leaving his only source of livelihood and gone out to nothing. That's not risk at all, let alone a calculated one, it will only amount to stupidity. No one leaves a bird at hand and runs after a thousand in the bush! |
NakedSnake:A bigger hello to you.... NS. Lol I'm not very sure I understand your moniker. Aren't snakes all naked from creation? What's up with yours? Did you rid yourself of the outer green skin? OK, OK, until I see you in person. Good morning and welcome to the chatroom. |
Jazmiynne:Lol. Never heard of that kinda trouble sha... but I trust you'll be fine. Beautiful morning love and a warm weekend to you. |
Jazmiynne (this spelling gan!), awayu? What is the matter? We can cross the road together if you don't mind. Perfect imperfection... lol, I think you are having guy trouble *winks. I know a fixer. Let me know when you are ready to see the guru. |
Lol, Lastmumu we are mirroring the government o. They are indeed making us look for other ways of surviving. If I'm sure I'll get an increase in salary after 2 years, why should I steal? If my younger sister finishes her OND program and there is a place ready to absorb her for IT, why should I hoard a position in the civil service for her sake? You see where I'm going? I'm not perfect but I know what I wouldn't want to be tempted with? We all have our varying 'lusts' like baits and if you know what it is, it will better equip you to fight and win the temptation. |
Rvp you are a Marxian scholar? Lol I read a shared post this morning on the advantages of subsidy removal and I just mouthed 'Beautiful Nonsense'! The OP, his moniker I can't remember and because I don't want to start a debate on that thread this morning I let it go. How can you say that because the 'rich', business owners and those at the top consume over 50 litres of petrol daily therefore subsidy should be removed cos according to the govt, 'they' benefit more. The mere fact that an average citizen runs his generator daily and pays tfare is enough for a right thinking President to come up with a plan that doesn't kill the masses. But they called it downstream kinikon... mtshew. The bitter truth is we will all adjust and in a matter of months, it will look normal. |
ProudOlodo:There continues the evil cycle! Good morning *smiles*. Slept well? You must be up and running by this time. Please run for two *winks*. See you later in the evening. |
huntax:Exactly! Minimum wage is now- as it was in the beginning, so it is now and ever shall be. Constant! |
ProudOlodo:Lol. ProudOlodo see how you are blaming the common man. He didn't say in 15 years, he has fathered 15 children o but we have leaders who have children within and without, we don't look into how they lead their families before voting them into office or before they imposed themselves on us in most cases. The man hasn't done any wrong joor, he needs a raise in salary as the prices of goods and services is increasing. |
ProudOlodo:You are right about history. |
ProudOlodo:Lol. You blame a family man now for having children abi? Na just 3 o, how many him employer get? Nobody wishes to bring in children to this world to suffer but then when a woman takes in what should they do? Birth their baby of course. And that's how they got to that point. The change we seek isn't in tying a wife's womb or making a husband sterile. It is in creating a society where citizens can afford to live comfortably and raise children who will surpass their achievements. |
ProudOlodo:Lol @ suya-ed the peacock. Mehn, you got me there! We should eat that someday... lol, for real! I don't mind being Jacob while you bear Esau.Lol. Olodo needs to humble himself o so he will be wise and Proud *winks. |
ProudOlodo:Why won't the represented act like their representatives? We learn/copy wrong fast. Yesterday on the radio, a man called lamenting that for 15 years he's been on a job with salary of 46,000 NGN, no increase, no decrease! He started the job as a bachelor and as at yesterday he's a married man with three children who go to school and eat food daily! Now you mean to tell me if the dude has access to vouchers he won't falsify figures? Oh please! Nigerian bourgeoisie are just sth else and then someone from somewhere will come out and say "BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE", of course the change is to see that my children don't go to bed hungry. So what are you hinting me on? There's no guilty one mehn! If you are still sane and haven't messed with data, I say kudos! It's not about the other person but remain true to yourself. |
YungMike:Lol @ sell my car. No o, I'm just hopping on buses and whenever fortunate I get a free ride, but this is not a daily occurrence, it just helps ease the burden of hiked tfare. Zahra is busy on FP where hungry people are admiring her beauty *smiles*. I will sha talk to her when she's not busy on FP. Soon things go better. |
Yorex you've spoken well and I quite agree with the points you raised, including the questions asked. But something tells me that every generation be it in the 60s or 90s were plagued with some sort of national crisis and even though they had no issues securing admission into uni and getting multiple job offers, there was still sth like a clog in the wheel of progress of our beloved country. Our problem is us. The trouble with Nigeria is not outside but within. The people we put our trust in and sent to represent US are representing themselves only. Selfishness has eaten deep like a cankerworm into our nation state. *sigh* What am I saying sef? I hate to discuss politics in public. The truth is there is no selfless leader yet in Nigeria. The fear of the unknown is making them stash taxpayer's money away in other countries. I think our 'saviour' hasn't been born like the beautiful ones are not yet born. When the fellow comes into power, we'll have the Nigeria of our dreams. |
ProudOlodo:Lol. It's OK. I forgive you and the e-ink. Go and make no more errors! How's my peacock doing? Still proud? |
Mmmh... this is food for thought really. Is there any such thing as 'unbroken happiness'? Like having a chain of happiness, wholly and unbroken? I don't think so. No one in this life have I met or heard of, has monopoly of happiness that makes for a 365/366 days of happiness unend, no, not one. Somehow in some way, something alters our plan and steals our joy before the year is gone. However, our reaction to an alteration of joy and happiness is where the onus lies. I want to believe albeit that with the right attitude one can experience unbroken happiness but the question is for how long? A day? A week? A month? or, A year? The answer to this question will determine whether unbroken happiness is a fact or fallacy. And then whether it is a bore, Mmmh, that one hard o because me, I wouldn't want a kill joy around me but in the case of a relationship, e go boring die! What kind of thick skin will a partner have that will make it difficult for him to flinch in the face of a quarrel or challenge? Even the ever smiling Joel Osteen, I doubt experiences unbroken happiness. |
rvpbae:I left before you. *smiles. Bye. |
YungMike:Oh congrats for coming this far. Soon you'll get the invite. All the best as you go for it. Success wishes. |
