chiefolododo:Where's the charge? It's been one month of illegal incarceration. Still no charge or arraignment in court. Is it true just because "they" alias Lagos-Ibadan toilet newspapers said it? Nigeria is not a banana republic even though Tinubu is fast turning it into one. |
yinkus6750:The citizens have a smarter way to fight for him as time will show. Tinubu himself knows. Hence why he will give an arm and a leg to get Elrufai to cease fire. I hope Lagosians will come out to fight for Tinubu when the table turns, because it definitely will. |
BigNija:He's ready to face it in court. Why is Tinubu rather interested in seeking to indefinitely detain him without charge? Could it be because they have found nothing to stick on him? |
Thundafireseun:Indeed. Is it cowardice or fear whenever you lot try to extricate Tinubu from what he clearly does. Why then is Tinubu keeping him in detention illegally without charging him to court? Elrufai made Tinubu president and he will invariably unmake him. Illegal incarceration or not. Just wait and see. Didn't Tinubu just strike similar deal with Bala Mohammed. Before that there was Ifeanyi Okowa and Yahaya Bello. When state institutions become political tools to coerce opponents to toe the line, then we are becoming a dictatorship. Tinubu's only pathway to victory as at today, is to be the only candidate on the ballot but it will not happen. |
Cherrybae:Are Igbos allowed to vote in freely in Lagos? The governors of Edo and Sunday Igboho just warned Peter Obi and Atiku not to come campaign in their states and region and nothing has been done about it. If the Southeast doesn't vote Tinubu in 2027, where then will his voyes come from? Tinubu boycotted the Southeast in 2023 because he had Northern support. He is now desperate for a Southern solidarity because he knows his chances are getting slimmer in the North, but he didn't include the other South in projects and appointments when he ought to. No one is fooled. INEC has not lifted embargo on campaigns but APC have already commenced campaigns with blatant vote buying and attempts to induce electorates with peanuts. |
Relax, Tinubu is Finishing Nigerians (RTIFN). The rice will go round. Open up the borders! How would we get rice to distribute to Nigerians if we do not import? |

|
Sannisege:Increased allocation through taxation, subsidy removal and collective sacrifice of Nigerians. Thanks to Nigerians. What is Tinubu doing with his own share of the loans and increased revenue? 70% of the capital expenditure in 2025 budget was unfunded. Why are we still implementing 2024 and 2025 budgets in 2026 and when will the 2026 budget be signed into law? It's March already. Where is the money? |
Sponsored article. It wasn't self annihilation when Seyi Makinde already told us how Tinubu met with him and Wike in Aso Rock where the deal to "hold down" opposition parties was brokered. It is too much of a coincidence that the PDP and LP that produced candidates with millions of votes barely 3 years ago are no longer viable platforms. It happened through state sponsored sabotage. No previous demicratic government came all out to destroy opposition parties until now. |
DeOTR:If Buhari worked against Tinubu, he wouldn't have emerged as president. Buhari was neutral and rightly so, in an election that his Vice, Osinbajo was also contesting. Fastforward to 2026 and it's now clear what Osinbajo was trying to tell Nigerians. "Vote for who you know, don't vote for who you do not know". Why is Tinubu so desperate in being the only candidate on the ballot come 2027? This has never happened before. Elrufai who came all out to support Tinubu, how was he repaid? |
Apt! If you know, you know. Time is a gentleman. |
The ship has sailed. Muslim-muslim ticket will offer Tinubu no political advantage in 2027. Let's hope he will be able to replace the Northern votes he has lost with new Southern/middlebelt votes. As at today, the numbers still show that Tinubu will only return re-elected if he's the only candidate on the ballot come 2027. |
seunmsg:Lol. Let's compare notes after 2027 elections. Tinubu's strategy of coercion can only give him a false sense of support. Time is a gentleman. |
Now that Sule Lamido has played ball and capitulated, watch the recent arraignment of himself and his son die a natural death. This is the democracy under the "democracy fighters". |
seunmsg:They do not have access to subsidy windfalls nor taxation from the sweat of struggling Nigerians. Even if they do, I doubt they'll be heartless enough to prioritise that while Nigerians suffer. Quoted for posterity. |
CodeTemplarr:No, re-election bids have not always been like this. Throwing billions of naira at governors and clerics to get yourself re-elected despite being very unpopular is not normal. It simply shows that he is not seeking leadership for the sake of the people but for personal aggrandisement. This is where funds from subsidy savings and taxation are going towards while the 2024, 2025 and 2026 budgets remain unlargely unfunded.
|
seunmsg:Seyi Makinde already told us. The agreement to destroy the PDP and "hold it down" for the president was brokered in Aso Rock with Tinubu, Makinde and Wike in attendance. Every other thing is just word salad but posterity will be the ultimate judge. |
Moroccoguy:Didn't you read it clearly from the article? Is ADC paying any sign-on allowance or are they using corruption and terrorism charges as a stick to whip governors in line? You should rather weep for what democracy has turned into under the so-called "fighters of democracy". The governors are decamping but are the electorates decamping? Where is the jubilation in the streets? APC is only using the coerced defections to justify the rigging they have intended to perpetuate as a sign if their popularity but an unpleasant surprise awaits them. |
Putindbutt:Arrangee support. She even has on a Tinubu t-shirt. Nothing organic. We all know how the event ended. Every other thing is propaganda.
|
Parachoko:Southern unity in the mud. Let us hope and pray that Lagos votes alone are enough to get Tinubu re-elected. |
Richtaiwo:Salty tears. Is the South no longer in the bag? Where will Tinubu's votes now come from? Even Remi Tinubu's visit to Akwa Ibom was shambolic. We are not even in campaign season yet. As things stand today, Tinubu is only sure of the 4 Southwestern states he won in 2023 but don't worry, Cubana Chiefpriest will deliver the Southeast to Tinubu. |
Lol. Arrangee. Same event where the organisers were nearly lynched? Agbadorians can continue to bury their heads in the sand. Time is a gentleman.
|
Fake figures. Besides, registration as a member of a political party is not a prequisite for voting in the general election. It's only needed for party primaries and to contest an election. A move that Tinubu inserted into the electoral act to sabotage other political parties. Unlike APC, ADC is not coercing market women, civil servants and other non-suspecting public and phishing their personal details to register them as members of the party, unbeknownst to them. |
Agbadorians of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway propaganda toilet newspapers are making themselves happy on this thread with clickbaits. No matter how hard Tinubu tries, he will have a very formidable opposition in 2027. |
ayo2008:And the Labour party too with the full support and approval of Tinubu. Seyi Makinde already told us how the deal was brokered in Aso Rock. But for the political deftness and wisdom of other politicians who came together to form the ADC, there will be no opposition party today. It has never been this bad. Tinubu is still highly unpopular among the voting electorates and his only pathway to re-election is to contest unopposed. |
Owerri Ricky Ross alias Malaysian Burger did not support Peter Obi in 2023. He was a member of the APC. If he did, it was anti-party and who's to say he won't do the same in 2027 after cashing out from Seyi? |
Mynd44:So you are all for Nairaland becoming an echo chamber? This was how cancel culture was becoming a major concern on twitter with the world at the verge of plunging into fascism before Elon Musk saved the world and bought the platform. What use is this politics section if everyone agrees with you and the only comment ypu see are those who align with yours? The politics section might as well be merged with the diary room. Not being able to stand contrary opinion is a mild form of extremism. I witnessed harmless comments of mine get deleted on threads, especially those about Reno Omokri. Such actions gradually dumb down the platform and make some of us consider leaving for good. |
seunmsg:Lol. It's the middle of March and we are still talking about "once the 2026 budget is passed into law". This is already a clear pointer that significant portions of the budget will not be implemented, thereby, rolled into next year. This has never happened before until Tinubu. Buhari and his team worked hard and handed over a January to December budget cycle to Tinubu. |
lionshare:Is that why we are still implementing 2024, 2025 and 2026 budgets concurrently, with some MDAs getting as little as 34 million naira from their appropriated budgets? |
Wale Edun fumbled by revealing the true financial situation of our unfunded budget deficit to the tune of 30 trillion after Tinubu himself had come out to say we have met our revenue target. He should have known better than to go against Paul Biya wannabe. He had it coming. |
hotseat:Is it usually out of fear that you lot try to exonerate Tinubu from all that he does behind the scenes or it's out of cowardice? Elrufai has been the one asking to be charged to court but all Tinubu has been doing thus far is getting perpetual injunction to keep him in detention without charge. So he's guilty of the said offence until he proves his innocence in ICPC detention right? Is that the new modus operandi under Tinubu's democracy? More info will come to light in the coming days about the Thallium Sulphate. The government is already acting like like they are scared by detaining him to prevent him from leaking more "secrets". Like he has always maintained, "charge him to court". |
hotseat:When did he become Hell Ruffian? Was it before or after he answered questions for a stammering Tinubu at Chatham house and rallied the North against cabals to make Tinubu president? Also when did he become corrupt? Was it before or after? Betrayal is not a virtue and you cannot dictate how a man betrayed should act. Elrufai was minister 20 years ago and it was public knowledge that he didn't want to be a part of Tinubu's cabinet. Tinubu begged him publicly on stage in Kaduna to rescind his plans. You lot now call the betrayal master strategy. It has always been Tinubu's plans to undermine influential Northern politicians in order to carry out what he's currently doing. Elrufai would speak out whether or not he's a part of Tinubu's cabinet. He did the same under Buhari and even wrote him a memo on the perceived neglect of some APC members after winning election.
