PoliticsRe: El Rufia Is No Longer Talking, What's Happening? by AMINDA: 8:13pm On Jan 13
muykem:
El Rufia the arrow head of opposition to the current administration has been unusually silent recently. What's happening?
Does his silence bother you? So you finally confess that he's the arrowhead of the opposition? Just relax.
PoliticsRe: Gov. Makinde, Bala Will Soon Defect To ADC - Fayose (video) by AMINDA: 8:11pm On Jan 13
Richtaiwo:
Is this not the same character who has been obsessively sniffing around the proposed defection of the Kano governor, endlessly demanding a date and praying, fervently, that it never materialises? He kept chanting, “What’s the date?” with theatrical pessimism, confidently concluding that since no date had been announced, the defection must be a fairy tale.

Now, merely a hint about the possible defection of two governors surfaces, and, just like in the Governor Yusuf episode, where no date was ever announced, he has already brought out his calculator, counted the chickens, named them, and built the hatchery.
Don't get ahead of yourself. Makinde will be a "nice to have" in the ADC. The party’s chances are not hinged on his defection. Unlike Tinubu that is counting on governors.
PoliticsRe: Kwankwaso Makes U-Turn, Endorses Governor Yusuf, NNPP Members’ Defection To APC by AMINDA: 8:06pm On Jan 13
seunmsg:
It will surely happen and that’s the day Aminda will deactivate his account grin grin grin
Please stop quoting me and seeking my validation in all comments. Are you finally ready to replace Shettima with Kwankwaso? I thought you said Tinubu won't succumb to his demands? Worry about the backlash that will emanate from that.
PoliticsRe: Kwankwaso Makes U-Turn, Endorses Governor Yusuf, NNPP Members’ Defection To APC by AMINDA:
seunmsg:
Aminda, how far? How do you want to drop your tears? Should I bring handkerchief, bucket, drum or a GeePee tank? grin grin grin
Lol. Have you pivoted back to supporting Kwankwaso again? We will all learn politics together. Didn't I tell you Tinubu was delaying Abba's move so he can beg Kwankwaso some more? In any case, the news of his endorsing the governor's move is inaccurate.

PoliticsRe: Kwankwaso Makes U-Turn, Endorses Governor Yusuf, NNPP Members’ Defection To APC by AMINDA:
Game on! Barau and Gawuna's ambitions successfully buried. Cunnyman die, cunnyman bury am. Tinubu will be outplayed in this game. After he is voted out as planned, Northerners can finally rebuild the party.

Modified: To the APC lackeys prematurely celebrating this news, get an hausa speaker to interpret for you. Compromised media houses have been commissioned to twist his words but hear from the horse's mouth. The governor's defection without Kwankwaso failed to give APC the needed momentum so they are attempting to create one by faking it.

Modified again: A click on the Premiumtimes link also shows that they have edited the news and issued a disclaimer as Kwankwaso never endorsed the governor's defection as can be heard clearly in his speech.

Cc: Mods, Seunmsg, Richtaiwo, etc. Sorry to cut your euphoria short.

PoliticsRe: Okowa, Morka Rally APC Chieftains, Members For Tinubu, Oborevwori by AMINDA: 6:10pm On Jan 13
All I see in the picture are 15 votes. What happened to Okowa's 1.3 trillion naira EFCC case? Is that the price for pledging his support to Tinubu?
PoliticsRe: Gov. Makinde, Bala Will Soon Defect To ADC - Fayose (video) by AMINDA: 5:53pm On Jan 13
That will be bad for Tinubu, wouldn't it? Especially that of Seyi Makinde. That will effectively split the Southwest and put the 3 populous states of Lagos, Osun and Oyo in contention. It's not yet Uhuru for Tinubu afterall. Not even in the Southwest.
PoliticsRe: APC Hunts Down Students, Negotiates With Bandits – Atiku On Ekpoma Protest by AMINDA: 5:50pm On Jan 13
Putindbutt:
Coming from a corrupt hypocrital and religious bigot who deleted his tweets on Deborah's killing. You can only deceive the gullible. You will never become President of Nigeria.
Did Tinubu not deny and undermine the killings in Owo and also that of Olu Falae's daughter when it happened by asking "where are the cows?" Didn't he do so because he wanted Fulani votes?
PoliticsRe: How Come The North Buys More Cement Than The South In Nigeria? by AMINDA: 5:32pm On Jan 13
lawani:
Yet even Ekiti is paying a high amount in VAT and CIT?. Ibadan is also rated higher than any Northern city in things like startups and infotech. Only Kano can drag with Ibadan in the North. Things are happening across the country but different states are successful or leading in different sectors
Fair enough. A teeming population of the North are involved in agriculture which has been exempted from VAT and CIT. Otherwise, the numbers will show.
PoliticsRe: United States Delivers Military Aides To Nigeria by AMINDA: 4:50pm On Jan 13
Military aid to a government that negotiates with and pardons terrorists? Who would they be using it on?
PoliticsRe: Wike Accuses Political Actors Of Misleading Fubara by AMINDA: 4:46pm On Jan 13
Flets:
The fact is that Tinubu and Wike will part ways sooner or later. Tinubu is to make that call but it will be definitely be a hard call

Aligning with Wike will mean lots of disgruntled elements in APC national leadership and loyalty concerns with APC governors. The Rivers people might fight back at the poll and if Fubara is not fully on the side of the president, 2023 type of rigging might not be possible. Besides, Rivers is not as critical as it was in 2023 because all other SS states are in the bag for APC.

Aligning with Fubara will mean that Tinubu risks leaking of 2023 rigging secrets among other prior acts between Tinubu and Wike. The extent of damage this will cause Tinubu’s 2027 mandate is yet to be determined but not expected to have significant impact as Wike has grown national apathy for himself. Infact, Tinubu might endear genuine voters if he openly goes after Wike and he has the apparatus of the state to shut him up or make him politically irrelevant

At the end, irrespective of what Tinubu decides in this case, Wike will fight Tinubu and APC leadership like he has always done his entire political life…… the question is When?
Well analysed but the Southsouth is not really in the bag for APC as it may seem. Even Rivers may be a close call even if Tinubu backs Fubara. He can only be assured of Rivers if he backs Wike and he rigs the election like in 2023. He may likely back Wike because Wike is a spoiler that can complicate things for the president, even in other states. Tinubu would also seal his reputation as a betrayer if he ditches Wike, especially having treated Elrufai in same manner. It will also create an atmosphere of distrust, especially for newly defected governors.

The best approach for Tinubu if he had no intention of backing Fubara was to not have accepted him into the APC in the first place, just like they did to Adeleke. Wike will accept no compromises. Any deviation from the originally signed agreement will see him going rogue, even if covertly.
PoliticsRe: How Come The North Buys More Cement Than The South In Nigeria? by AMINDA: 4:36pm On Jan 13
This thread proves a lot of Southerners have never been to the North. In terms of real estate numbers, quality of housing and architecture, the North is doing much better than the South. Aside from Lagos which is already saturated, not much is going on in other parts of the Southwest.
PoliticsRe: APC Hunts Down Students, Negotiates With Bandits – Atiku On Ekpoma Protest by AMINDA: 4:13pm On Jan 13
Agbadorians tried to pass the buck to Katsina on the release of 70 hardened terrorists but since when did jailed terrorists fall under the purview of states? It is no longer in doubt that the negotiations and release of terrorists that has become a norm under this regime is a federal government-backed policy. Capitulation to terrorism to buy temporary peace for election-winning purposes is not a wise nor sustainable strategy, it is total surrender.
PoliticsRe: Say No To “corner-corner” Support: Who Are They Deceiving—themselves Or The Wise by AMINDA: 2:59pm On Jan 13
The reality is that both Fubara and Wike's support for Tinubu are corner corner because none of them knows who Tinubu will eventually betray in favour of the other. While Wike is allegedly propping up the NDC as a backup, Fubara is allegedly romancing the ADC via the backdoor. This is what happens when Tinubu tries to eat from two pots at the same time. He may eventually end up with nothing.

Nairaland mods are complicit. Nafiu Bala is not the Chairman of the ADC. There is also no faction in the ADC.

PoliticsRe: 2026 Budget: FG Proposes ₦102.3 Billion For Lagos Green Line Rail by AMINDA: 9:20am On Jan 13
Lamasta:
Am not a Tinubu fan but on this one of Green rail I support the project...

If e reach your turn make you abandon your own state
Fair enough but he's just setting a precedence that would be noted by succeeding governments. The Green Rail is a state project, not federal. This is why Lagos will have a hard time convincing anyone that the state is not a nomansland because it gets subsidies from the federal government that other states don't get.

PoliticsRe: 2026 Budget: FG Proposes ₦102.3 Billion For Lagos Green Line Rail by AMINDA: 7:53am On Jan 13
Lamasta:
When late Buhari was building rail line to Niger for the north nobody complain o, moreover all tribe is represented and lives in Lagos to use the infrastructure if built....

No be everything we go dey criticize
What rail line to Niger for the North? The Kano-Maradi rail line is meant to link with the Lagos-Kano railway line and serve as a conduit for land-locked Niger to export and import it's goods through Nigeria via Lagos ports which will see Nigeria cornering all that sahelian market for itself in terms of revenue. Tinubu had only one job, to link Ibadan rail line to Abuja but he would rather sink 15 trillion on a coastal road awarded to Chargoury, his business partner. Every single thing he does, appears crafted to serve his personal business interests, not even that of the Southwest.
PoliticsRe: 2026 Budget: FG Proposes ₦102.3 Billion For Lagos Green Line Rail by AMINDA: 7:49am On Jan 13
When people say FG is subsidising Lagos, the databoys will vehemently deny it. Will all other states of the federation also be getting counterpart funding for what is clearly a state project?
PoliticsRe: Third Mainland Bridge Surveillance Cost ₦2.5 Billion Not ₦40 Billion by AMINDA: 7:00am On Jan 13
Umahi has inadvertently or perhaps, deliberately allowed himself to be the face of the heist going on under this government. He will be treated like Malami and Emefiele by the incoming government.
PoliticsRe: Falana To Military: Release Officers Detained Over Rumoured Coup Attempt by AMINDA: 6:55am On Jan 13
Dialpad:
Tell me which country in the world releases coup plotters ?

Is this a joke or something
What coup plotters? The government explicitly came out to say there was no coup attempt. Why continue to extra-judiciously detain the men then? Transparency is very important in a democracy. We are not under a dictatorship.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Run By Press Statements While Tinubu Governs From Foreign Hotels - Obi by AMINDA:
Bayo Onanuga is busy churning out press statements unsupervised while Tinubu was last seen wobbling in the United Arab Emirates. What has Nigeria gained from these incessant trips where he clearly looks lost and out of place?
PoliticsRe: Notorious Bandit Leader, Bello Turji Orders Sokoto Villagers To Relocate by AMINDA: 4:39am On Jan 13

AMINDA, we need your input here.
Why not ask Tinubu instead? The answer is in this thread created by you. You can't sow yam and harvest cocoyam.

PoliticsRe: Your Forced Enmity Between Tinubu And Otti Will Fail – Abia Govt Warns APC by AMINDA: 9:15pm On Jan 12
fergie001:
You don't know that man.
He is even helping Otti indirectly by awakening the consciousness that the man needs to be returned.

OUK, one week before Senate election will nicodemously go to visit Otti and call him his brother, we know am well 😂 All these things is to get money from Abuja, Tinubu shouldn't give him one naira, he can't deliver anything ooooo
No cast update na. Tinubu must drop and boys must chop.
PoliticsRe: Heightened Security At Kano Govt House over Gov Yusuf's rumoured Defection by AMINDA: 9:11pm On Jan 12
If it's a popular move as Agbadorians will have us believe, why is this the case? The defection was slated for today but it has been indefinitely postponed again for the third time. What is happening? Lessons!
PoliticsRe: Former Ekiti Governor, Oni re-joins APC 5 years after dumping party by AMINDA: 8:06pm On Jan 12
seunmsg:
For proper context, he was the major opposition candidate in the last governorship election. He came second losing to the incumbent governor.
What does it matter? It's Ekiti. A state where the other APC aspirant was disqualified (just like in Osun) and the ADC chairman was brutalised and prevented from holding their party activities. That's the new democracy under your tin-god.
PoliticsRe: Governor Oborevwori: Massive Funds Are Coming To States From Tinubu’s Government by AMINDA: 7:23pm On Jan 12
Of course. Tinubu takes money out of the pockets of struggling Nigerians via taxation and hands it over to governors with immunity. He then turns around and asks the citizens to hold the governors accountable. Everyone who opposed the removal of subsidy argued that it would just be more of the same and nothing will change. They have been proven right. Nigerians were better of with subsidy. Now, it's just governors enjoying the largesse and people still wonder why they are all defecting to APC.
PoliticsRe: Kwankwaso’s, Allies Influence Waning In Kano Politics – KPRA by AMINDA: 6:48pm On Jan 12
Noted but when is the governor defecting? Agbadorians told us it would be today. Have they fixed a new date? Lessons!
PoliticsRe: Katsina Defends Release Of 70 Bandits by AMINDA: 6:44pm On Jan 12
Dereliction of duty from the federal government. What authority does a state government have releasing inmates that were jailed for terrorism? Is that why he's so desperate to enact state policing?
