lailo:Not surprised. He brought the Lagos mentality to national governance. That's why his cabinet is filled up with only his boys from Lagos. For your information, "Baba sopé" politics can never work across all states of the federation. |
DeepSight:I am not talking about presidential primaries. I am talking about primary elections across the states with new defectors. Tinubu is already striking deals that benefits only himself while asking too many prominent politicians to shelve their own ambitions in order to accomodate newcomers. Interestingly, he left Osun state alone and rejected Adeleke's defection because his cousin, Oyetola assured him that APC can reclaim Osun state. Why didn't he consider this for other states with already strong APC presence like Kano (Ganduje and Barau), Delta (Omo-Agege), Plateau, etc? |
Lol. Even the universe is working against Tinubu's re-election. If this happens, Christians still won't vote Tinubu because it will be seen as pressure from Trump while the Northern Muslims won't vote for him either. Op, @Ukpaka, modify the thread and include the original source link so it can be moved to frontpage. https://thesun.ng/2027-kukah-dogara-musa-tipped-as-possible-tinubus-vp/ |
Time registered: 3rd January 2026. Nairalanders, beware of bot! |
Seeplusplus:Lol. He knows what's in front. Even if he decamps today, the defection has already lost momentum and impact. |
sacajawea:It's a political movement who's motto is "Amana". That's trust. The same principle that Elrufai invoked to rally Northerners to return the favour and vote Tinubu and which Tinubu betrayed by going back on his words. To an average Northerner, you are judged by your ability to keep to your own words. Any other thing makes you less a man and a persona non grata. This lesson will be clearer after 2027. |
Gotocourt:Ah! But Tinubu's lackeys told us that Muftwang will deliver 1 million votes to Tinubu na. |
Nothing to see here. Abba Kabir will deliver Kano to Tinubu, according to Agbadorians. |
The president yet again, misses the Armed Forces Remebrance day after previously missing successive NDA passing out parades. Is the Dubai trip more important than honouring our fallen heroes? 15 days into a new year and counting and a president hasn't stepped foot into a country he is supposed to be governing. |
Tinubu never needed to go through corners to court the Kano state governor, blindsiding Kwankwaso. It will be a strategic mistake if the governor decamps without his godfather. First, Abba Kabir barely has any structure on his own and will be seeking to rely on the structure of Barau and Ganduje while invariably killing their own political aspirations. The hidden resentments may also lead to protest votes even from their own camps. On the other hand, Kwankwaso will feel betrayed and may align with the coalition thereby leading to double jeopardy for the APC. Kwankwaso was already a strategic ally to Tinubu in 2023 by contesting alone. It would have served APC more to maintain the status quo if they couldn't secure his full support. Ganduje is already suspicious of the governor's move so there will constantly be an atmosphere of distrust in the Kano APC.

Mynd44:I disagree. The onus is on their prosecutors to provide water-tight evidence to the courts. Why sponsor so many sensational newspaper articles and provide them with sensitive information against suspects, only to fail in getting a conviction? It simply tells that the initial agenda was just to carry out a smear campaign. There were so much talks about Malami laundering 250 billion in the newspapers but EFCC only ended up charging him to court for 8 billion naira charges. And we know they will still fail to get a conviction on that. How many high-profile convictions have the EFCC successfully carried out under their current boss? That's how you measure performance. Not by theatrics. |
It's not by long obviously sponsored newspaper trials. EFCC should get a conviction this time if they have any evidence. We know all this will evaporate into thin air if Bala Mohammed agrees to join the APC today. Just like Yahaya Bello and Okowa's cases. This is the coercion we talk about. Coerced or money-induced defections can never translate into votes. |
Tinubu will destroy the APC with this inordinate desire to have everyone in his party. There are too many clash of egos and the party will implode close to and after the primaries. Ganduje and Kwankwaso cannot co-exist in one party as at today. Tunubu is just potentially making an enemy out of Kwankwaso for little to no gain but with a lot to lose. |
seunmsg:Lol. You are here again with the grandstanding. We didn't see you in the disclaimer thread. His demands are not hidden and have been clear from day one. Sack Ganduje (already done), give him the V.P slot, 5 ministerial slots, and full structure of the APC structure in the Northwest. If you call that price, then so be it! Tell Tinubu to pay up or forget it. |
Cherrybae:Noted. No be una again? You will change mouth and tell us more about Wike on the day that Tinubu decides to throw him under the bus. |
Gotocourt:Emilokan is desperate. He will throw everyone under the bus if he has to in order to save himself. |
Ttalk:Noted. Kwankwaso is not in ADC's permutations for victory. He will albeit, be welcomed if he decides to join. When is the Kano governor defecting again? Any new date? The defection will only be the beginning of more internal squabbles. Ganduje and Barau are waiting in front. Lessons! |
adekolaelect:You all have started again. You went wild with celebrations yesterday when the fake news broke that he has permitted the governor to decamp to APC. Here you are now, calling him names. Why can't you all have some self respect? He has already told Tinubu what he must do in order to get him to decamp and make him stand a chance to win his re-election. The ball is in Tinubu’s court. These are unequivocal demands without mincing words. Neither begging nor grandstanding will change anything. |
Whenever he's cornered, he will begin to do such "philanthropic" acts in a bid to launder his battered image. What a corner corner master. Where is Fubara, the Otapiapia master when you need him?! |
Flangelo12:What sort of Finance are you talking about? How much of his personal funds did Wike put into the party? Does financing the party using Rivers state funds now mean that he automatically owns the party? No wonder he feels so entitled against Fubara, he feels he funded his re-election campaign even though all other aspirants within and even in opposition parties were disenfranchised using a combination of force and the compromised courts. |
In hindsight, PDP now knows who their enemy was. Wike kicked against microzoning of the PDP ticket to the Southeast, frustrated David Umahi and other ambitious Southerners out of the party, pledged to support whoever won the primaries, contested the primaries and lost and still lobbied to become Atiku’s Vice. He only remembered it was the turn of the South when Atiku refused to make him a Vice presidential candidate. The rest is history. The words of the agreement master are not worth the paper they are written on. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/05/2023-ill-support-whoever-emerges-pdps-presidential-candidate-wike/ |
Elrufai is so squeaky clean that this is all they can put up against him. Trial of his ally (whatever that means). Is Elrufai a party to the case in court? In the case of Tunubu, it wasn't just his allies that were indicted (many were), he himself was involved and had to enter into a plea bargain and forfeit illicit money. There are levels to this integrity thing. |
They haven't even decamped to the APC yet and the spirit of APC is already beginning to manifest in them. |
bdon123:You just invariably corroborated what I said. You have Nigerian friends living in Iran, how many Iranians reside in Nigeria? |
Vision101:Lol. Empirical evidence after doctoring the statistics and baselines right?
|
Money miss road. This shows that the much touted local government autonomy is still a ruse and has yet to take off as peddled by some APC apologists here. Otherwise, what business does a state government have building official residences for local government chairmen? |
simpleseyi:You celebrate politics of patronage and subservience. It is this quest to have "his boys" with him that has seen him running his government with exclusively his boys from Lagos in what is arguably the most nepotistic cabinet Nigeria has even seen. Little wonder he crafted a special anthem for his sycophants to continue to sing his praise. |
APC have commissioned pen-for-hires to begin to churn out articles. Why is there so much ado about nothing with governor Abba's defection? When is the governor defecting? Kwankwaso have bid him farewell. All these articles changes nothing because the real Kwankwasiyyas are not online reading sponsored articles. |
This news is neither here nor there. It appears sensational. Retired General Ali Keffi is still walking free and has not been charged for any crime. How can the Army then arrest another personnel for merely having links with him? |
In this epic battle between the corner corner master and the otapiapia master, we wait with baited breath to see who will triumph. |
mastermaestro:You're 100% current in your submissions. However, if Wike is granted the choice to choose between FCT and Rivers, he would choose Rivers because he will be needing that war-chest and defacto immunity that Yahaya Bello currently enjoys, in order to fight his political battles. He knows relying solely on being Tinubu's minister is not sustainable as Tinubu can unceremoniously drop him. Which is why I believe Wike will go all out to try to have his way in Rivers even if it will mean parting ways with Tinubu. Tinubu refusing him this will also signal to him that he will be willing to drop him as minister regardless, so he will have nothing to lose. |
9jatriot:Stop being insincere. Tinubu encourages and utilises betrayers as long as they serve his purpose. If not, why is he secretly poaching governors like that of Kano and even pen-for-hires like Reno and Bwala away from their benefactors? Tinubu had the option of rejecting Fubara's defection like he did with Adeleke but he didn't because he wanted to doublecross Wike. He didn't think Wike will be prepared to fight back dirty as he's currently doing. Now, he's confused on who's side to take. |
