Justice was served last week after Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, sentenced Nsa Ayi, a former relationship officer in Coronation Merchant Bank, to seven years imprisonment for diverting clients’ N700 million meant for Federal Government bonds, treasury bills, and fixed deposits. Apparently, Ayi diverted funds earmarked to be invested on behalf of customers into several bank accounts and had planned to relocate with his Family until he was caught by the EFCC. #Copied #Nairametrics |

While their massive loss came from SA , 2017 was a turbulent year for most businesses in Nigeria. |
As long as the money was sent you through the bank you can not eat it and go free no matter how long it takes. Either you refund or you will go to jail. You should be aware that all record of transactions from all banks in Nigeria stays forever with CBN. You can also lay claim to if someone find away into your account and transfer funds to another bank account. |

moving from frypan to fire. round peg in a square hole. When blockchain decentralized solution is what you need. If you want to end rigging and election fraud, there is no other alternative. |
Intellectual property abuse and right infringement is a global issue but worse in Nigeria. This is not only applicable to music, though it's the most widely abused. People don't get fair compensation for their work. The emergence of blockchain technology has provided a backbone to tackle this. I am challenging programmers and software developers to seek out a smart contract solution to end copyright infringement and abuse. Will Multichoice this fine? Unlikely. They will challenge it to the highest court, lobbying and depositing bags of money along they way till this is diluted or struck out. |
Watch out guys and girls The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) brought two lawsuits against allegedly fraudulent cryptocurrency investment schemes yesterday. The cases, both filed in the U.S. federal court in the New York Eastern District, are the latest move from the country's derivatives regulator in bringing closer scrutiny over activities involving cryptocurrencies, which the agency regulates as commodities. In one case, the CFTC alleged that Dillon Michael Dean from Colorado and his company, Entrepreneurs Headquarters Limited, collected more than $1.1 million in bitcoin from over 600 people as part of a pooled investment vehicle for trading commodity interests. The pool was said to invest in binary options contracts, according to the complaint. However, the CFTC alleged that the defendants misappropriated the funds. In the second case, Patrick Kerry McDonnell from New York and the company CabbageTech, are being sued by the CFTC for allegedly absconding with customers' digital assets. According to the complaint, the agency alleged that McDonnell branded himself as a cryptocurrency investment expert with trading advice that could result in highly attractive returns on investment. For example, the complaint said that, in one case, McDonnell allegedly claimed a return of 300 percent with his trading tips. Subsequently the regulator alleged that soon after customers sent in money and cryptocurrencies for his advisory services, the defendant cut off communications with customers and "simply misappropriated" the funds. In both cases, according to the complaints, the CFTC said neither of the two defendants and their companies had previously registered with the agency. According to a report from Reuters, a third CFTC case is still under seal |

Changes coming for the Bitconnect system - Halt of lending and exchange platform This is to inform all community members that we are closing the Bitconnect lendingand exchange platform. We are closing the lending operation immediately with the release of all outstanding loans. With release of your entire active loan in the lending wallet we are transferring all your lending wallet balance to your BitConnect wallet balance at 363.62 USD. This rate has been calculated based on last 15 days averagesof the closing price registered on coinmarketcap.com. You are free to withdraw your BitConnect coin currently in QT wallets that was used for staking as well. We are also closing BCC exchange platform in 5 days. In short, we are closing lending service and exchange service while BitConnect.co website will operate for wallet service, news and educational purposes. The reason for halt of lending and exchange platform has many reasons as follow: The continuous bad press has made community members uneasy and created a lack of confidence in the platform. We have received two Cease and Desist letters, one from the Texas State Securities Board, and one from the North Carolina Secretary of State Securities Division. These actions have become a hindrance for the legal continuation of the platform.Outside forces have performed DDos attacks on platform several times and have made it clear that these will continue. These interruptions in service have made the platform unstable and have created more panic inside the community. Closing the lending and exchange platform doesn’t mean that we will stop supporting BitConnect coin. Closing the lending platform will allow Bitconnect to be listed on outside exchanges giving more options for trading. We will keep working to make BitConnect coin available to merchant websites providing them API access to accept BitConnect Coins on their platforms. BitConnect X ICO is still functional and we are building an exchange platform on the BitConnect X website. With BitConnect X operating as an exchange platform, BitConnect Coin (BCC) will be listed there. This is not the end of this community, but we are closing some of the services on the website platform and we will continue offering other cyptocurrency services in the future. Best Regards, The Team BitConnect |
