Imam Al-Awzai’s Letter of Warning against Heresy and Heretics It is reported that Imâm Al-Awzâ’î (d157H) wrote: O Muslims, fear Allâh and obey Him, and accept the advice of the sincere advisers and the exhortation of the exhorters, and know that this knowledge is religion, so be careful about what you do [in it] and from whom you take [it] and who you follow and who you trust your religion to. For verily, the followers of Bid’ah are all falsifiers and liars, neither are they careful nor do they fear and protect [against wrongdoing], and nor are they to be trusted to not distort what you hear. They say what they know not when criticizing and decrying or when affirming their lies. But Allâh encompasses what they do. So be on guard against them, suspect them, reject them and distance yourselves from them, for this was what your earlier scholars and the righteous latter ones did and instructed others to do. Beware of rising against Allâh and becoming instruments in the destruction of His religion and undoing its handholds by respecting the innovators, for you know what has come down to us about respecting them. And what stronger respect and veneration can there be than taking your religion from them, following them, believing them, being close to them and helping them in alluring those they allure and attracting those they attract of the weak Muslims towards their ideas and the religion they practice? This is enough to be considered a partnership and contribution to what they do. Ibn ‘Asâkir, Târîkh Dimishq 6:361, 362. |

TROOPS SMASHES BANDIT STRONGHOLDS IN BAUCHI, RESCUES HOSTAGES RECOVERS ARMS Troops of 33 Artillery Brigade under Operation WUTAN DAJI have recorded a significant operational success following a coordinated clearance operation in Kumbodoro Forest and Kumbodoro Village in Bauchi State. The offensive offensive operation dealt a major setback to bandit networks operating within the area. Troops successfully cleared multiple bandit enclaves, including the notorious Azuge camps within the Kumbodoro Forest axis. Supported by the Air Component, the troops neutralised several bandits and dismantled key operational bases, further degrading the criminals’ capability to threaten lives and property of citizens. The operation led to rescue of eight kidnapped victims. A thorough search of the bandits enclave led to the recovery of cache of arms and equipment, including 4 skeletal rifles, 4 dane guns, one FN rifle magazine, one AK-47 magazine, as well as communication devices and other operational items. Other recovered items include 2 pairs of boots, 3 helmets, one power bank, one StarTimes decoder, QJC meta links, one jackknife, 6 mobile handsets, arrows, radio chargers, OPAY ATM cards, photographs, an identity card, several pairs of security agency uniforms and leg chains. The livestock are believed to have been abandoned by fleeing bandits due to sustained military pressure. Efforts are ongoing to identify and return the animals to their rightful owners. The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its mission to restore peace and stability across all theatres of operation, leveraging intelligence-driven operations, joint force synergy and strategic partnerships to deny bandits and terrorists any safe haven. |
Troops arrest teenage iswap logistics courier in ngamdu, link suspect to Jilli strikes Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have arrested a 15-year-old suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) logistics courier in Ngamdu, Borno, linking him to recent terrorist attacks and ongoing military airstrikes on insurgent enclaves in the Jilli axis. Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, identified as Tijjani, was apprehended on Sunday while allegedly attempting to procure logistics for insurgent fighters operating within the Ngamdu–Benisheik corridor. According to the sources, the suspect confessed during preliminary interrogation that he participated in the attacks on Benisheik and Ngamdu carried out on Thursday. “My name is Tijjani, I am 15 years old. I was arrested today in Ngamdu. I was among the terrorists that attacked Benisheik and Ngamdu,” the source quoted him as saying. He reportedly disclosed that the group mobilised from Jilli, a known insurgent stronghold in Gubio Local Government Area, before executing the attacks and subsequently returned to the enclave. “Before the attack we came from Jilli and returned there after the attack,” he said. The suspect further revealed that he was redeployed from Jilli on Saturday with the sum of N850,000 to procure supplies for other fighters. “I was sent from Jilli yesterday with N850,000 to collect some logistics from Ngamdu, but I was arrested by troops,” he reportedly stated. He added that he left behind other fighters at the Jilli enclave but could not confirm their fate following the recent military airstrikes on the area. “I left my colleagues at Jilli yesterday. I don’t know what has happened to them there,” he said. Military sources said the arrest of the suspect provides further insight into the operational and logistics network of ISWAP within the region, particularly the central role of Jilli as a staging ground and supply hub. The development comes barely 24 hours after the Air Component of OPHK conducted precision airstrikes on the Jilli axis, destroying a major terrorist logistics base and neutralising scores of insurgents. The strikes, which followed sustained Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, targeted a convergence of motorcycles and vehicles identified as belonging to insurgents and their logistics handlers. Field reports indicated that at least two motorcycles and one vehicle were destroyed, while several terrorists were killed in the operation. Some insurgents were said to have taken cover upon hearing the approaching aircraft but later returned in the evening to evacuate casualties. Military authorities have consistently described Jilli as a “no man’s land” under insurgent control, where activities such as the so-called weekly market serve as logistics and coordination points for terrorist operations. The arrest of the teenage suspect, who admitted to moving funds and facilitating supplies, underscores the reliance of insurgent groups on logistics couriers, including minors, to sustain their operations. Security experts say disrupting such supply chains is critical to weakening the operational capacity of insurgent groups in the North-East. The military has reiterated its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist enclaves through coordinated air and ground operations, aimed at dismantling logistics networks and preventing further attacks on both security forces and civilian communities. Investigations into the suspect’s activities and possible accomplices are ongoing. |

Several bandits killed as Army, DSS, Local Volunteer Forces Foil Attacks on Niger Communities By: Zagazola Makama Troops of the Nigerian Army, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), and local volunteer forces on Tuesday successfully foiled what locals said would have been a large-scale attack by bandits on Bagna and Erena communities in Shiroro LGA of Niger state. Credible security sources disclosed that the move by the operatives followed advance intelligence on the the planned attack. According to the sources, as bandits in their numbers made to storm Bagna and Erene communities, the security operatives and volunteers ambushed them, killing scores of the attackers. "Over 300 bandits armed with dangerous weapons and on motorcycles we're headed to the communities. Unfortunately for them, security operatives and local vigilantes, who had credible intelligence on their movements, ambushed them. Scores were killed while many others fled toward the Makuba and Allawa axis" disclosed the source. Residents of the communities expressed gratitude to the security operatives and volunteer forces, noting that their gallantry saved them from what would have been a major disaster. "We are very happy. We thank the joint security forces for protecting us," one of the residents stated. "We are witnessing an increase in collaboration between security agencies and local volunteer forces. Military eliminate 65 bandits, kill Ado Allero’s son in Zamfara offensive in coordinated ground, air offensive By: Zagazola Makama Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in a coordinated ground and air offensive, have neutralised no fewer than 65 bandits, including a notorious kingpin, Kachalla Iliya Sarki, son of wanted bandit leader Ado Allero, during a major operation in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara. Credible security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation, which took place at Munhaye village behind Kunchin Kalgo, dealt a devastating blow to the terrorists long associated with deadly attacks across Zamfara, Katsina and parts of Kano State. The sources said the intense battle commenced at about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and lasted for over seven hours, as troops engaged the bandits in a fierce exchange of fire, supported by precision airstrikes that decimated their positions. According to the sources, the bandits kingpin Alhaji Ado Allero, had mobilised heavily armed fighters for the confrontation, deploying an estimated 300 motorcycles of fighters from Yan Wari axis in what appeared to be a coordinated attempt to repel advancing troops. Other fighters were deployed from the camp of Dankarami Gwaska and deployed as reinforcements against the troops. “However, the superior firepower and tactical coordination of the troops overwhelmed the terrorists, leading to heavy casualties on their side,” one of the sources said. Among those killed, the sources confirmed, were Kachalla Iliya Sarki, a key commander and operational leader within Ado Allero’s network, alongside other lieutenants identified as Dogo Sule and Iliya Mai Rasha. “Iliya Mai Rasha was said to have taken over leadership responsibilities following the recent killing of another commander, Alti, last month,” the source added. The sources further disclosed that seven vigilantes fighting alongside the troops paid the supreme price during the encounter. In the aftermath of the operation, Ado Allero was said to have fled the area and is currently in hiding at Yankuzu twon, as troops continue pursuit operations to dismantle the remnants of his group. Kachalla Iliya Sarki, described as one of the most vicious and feared bandit commanders in the North-West, had been linked to a series of deadly attacks, kidnappings and cattle rustling activities across Katsina and Zamfara States. He was reportedly arrested in Katsina at some point during the administration of former Governor Aminu Bello Masari, but was later released following a dramatic incident in which his father allegedly orchestrated the abduction of senior police officers to force negotiations. Security sources also revealed that the slain commander had, just four days prior to his death, travelled to Kano to rustle livestock, pointing to the trans-state operational reach of the criminal network. His elimination marks a significant setback for banditry operations in the North-West, particularly in the tri-border region linking Zamfara, Katsina and Kano States. “This is a major operational success. The death of Iliya Sarki will significantly disrupt command and control structures within the group,” a security analyst said. However, security sources warned that the development may trigger retaliatory actions, noting that Ado Allero is likely to mobilise his fighters for reprisal attacks in response to the killing of his son and key lieutenants. “This is a major operational success, but we must also anticipate possible revenge attacks. That is why troops are maintaining heightened vigilance across vulnerable communities,” a security source said. The battle continues as exploitation by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA continues as at the time of filling this report |
Troops intercept suspected Boko Haram logistics convoy conveying 13 persons in Borno By: Zagazola Makama Troops of Bravo Company, 159 Battalion, have intercepted a suspected Boko Haram logistics convoy in Kanama area of Borno State. Security sources said the interception occurred at about 7:00 p.m. on April 2 at a checkpoint while troops were conducting routine stop-and-search operations. According to the sources, the troops stopped a Toyota pickup vehicle conveying 12 males and one female en route to Dekwa. During a search of the vehicle, two adult males were found to have sustained gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigations revealed that the injured suspects were members of a terrorist logistics support network who had reportedly been ambushed earlier by troops on April 1 along the Usmadi axis while transporting supplies to a terrorist camp in Dekwa. The sources added that eight torchlight mobile phones were recovered from the suspects for further investigation. All suspects and the vehicle are currently in custody and will be handed over to Headquarters for further action. |
ISWAP fighters face food, fuel shortages in Borno — intelligence By: Zagazola Makama Fresh intelligence has indicate acute shortages of food, fuel and essential supplies among fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in parts of Borno state, amidst intensified counter terrorism offensive. The development comes amid sustained military pressure by troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies, targeting terrorist enclaves, supply routes and logistics networks across Borno and the wider Lake Chad Basin. Findings from security sources reveal that ISWAP operating in camps within Mafa Local Government Area, particularly around the Dikwa and Sambisa Forest axis, are grappling with severe logistical constraints that are beginning to erode both their operational effectiveness and morale. At the centre of the development is a reported distress communication by a senior fighter, identified as Abu Fatima, who is said to be operating around the Hamza Gajirom area of Dikwa. According to the intelligence, Abu Fatima lamented that members of his group had not eaten for two days due to lack of food, while also pointing out shortages of fuel, tyre repair materials and even recharge cards needed for communication. The report further indicates that an ISWAP commander based in a camp within Sambisa Forest acknowledged the situation, noting that he had earlier been directed to check on the group but could not establish contact due to poor telecommunications network in the area. The commander reportedly admitted that even fighters in his own location were still awaiting fuel supplies, pointing to the widespread nature of the logistical challenges. Sources noted that fuel scarcity is particularly critical, as it directly affects mobility, resupply operations and the ability of fighters to carry out coordinated attacks or retreat under pressure. In insurgent warfare, mobility is everything. Once that is constrained, the group becomes exposed and predictable,” the sources said. Further intelligence suggests that the affected fighters are unable to relocate due to lack of fuel and absence of nearby civilian communities or settlements from which they could source supplies, pointing to a growing level of isolation within the camps. However, the situation also reveals internal contradictions within the group. Despite the widespread shortages, there are indications of selective distribution of resources, with a fighter identified as Ibn Bukar reportedly receiving a new motorcycle and rifle. This could point to prioritisation within the ranks or possible favouritism, which may in turn fuel discontent among fighters already facing hardship. “Such disparities can create fractures within insurgent groups, especially when survival is at stake,” the sources added. Military operations in recent months have increasingly focused on disrupting the ability of insurgents to access food, fuel and communication tools, a strategy experts say is now yielding tangible results. Sources noted that the current situation may force ISWAP fighters into desperate measures, including attempts to raid vulnerable communities for supplies or increased reliance on local collaborators. |
TROOPS OF JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION ENDURING PEACE NEUTRALIZES THREATS IN JOS NORTH AND WASE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS AS NEW COUNTER-TERRORISM DEPLOYMENT YIELDS IMMEDIATE RESULTS In a significant breakthrough aimed at restoring the desired peace in Plateau State, troops of Joint Task Force, Operation ENDURING PEACE achieved remarkable success in the late hours of Thursday during a targeted operation at Dutse Uku in Jos North Local Government Area. At approximately 11:45 pm, vigilant troops responding to a distress call on sporadic shooting at Dutse Uku general area intercepted and apprehended 2 individuals masquerading as security operatives. These impostors, dressed in tactical black uniforms, were caught actively participating in the arson of residential properties and the orchestration of violence within the Community. Those arrested are currently in custody while 2 persons who sustained gun shot wound were moved by troops to a medical facility for attention and they are in a stable condition. This pivotal arrest serves as a direct rebuttal to recent allegations suggesting military complicity in the Jos North unrest, effectively proving that the atrocities previously attributed to official personnel are being committed by criminal elements using deceptive attire to sow discord and defame the Armed Forces. The momentum of this success extended into Karem in Wase Local Government Area, where high-alert troops successfully disrupted a large-scale movement of terrorists traveling via motorcycles. Upon being engaged by the military, the insurgents fled under the pressure of sustained combat. In the engagement, 3 of the terrorists were successfully neutralized. This surge in operational efficiency follows the strategic deployment of a battalion plus specialized counter-terrorism troops, an initiative ordered by the Chief of Army Staff on Thursday morning. The immediate impact of these additional boots on the ground has acted as a decisive game-changer, bolstering the State's security architecture and restoring proactive control over volatile zones. In the light of these developments, all hoodlums, insurgents, and criminal syndicates currently operating within the State will be ruthlessly dealt with, as the military remains resolute in its mission to eliminate all threats to public peace. The general public is kindly requested to maintain a high level of situational awareness and support the ongoing efforts by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest authorities. Through continued cooperation and the current strategic offensive, the military remains committed to ensuring the permanent restoration of safety and order for all citizens. A military source told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out at about 2:06 a.m. on April 1 around the Gadangari axis, behind Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Bama. The source said the troops conducted a planned ambush targeting suspected Boko Haram terrorists and their logistics collaborators operating around the area. “While lying in wait, the troops intercepted terrorists’ collaborators and logistics suppliers moving towards Yale axis,” the source said. He added that the troops engaged the targets in a brief exchange of fire, resulting in the neutralisation of eight terrorists, while others escaped with possible gunshot wounds. The source further noted that follow-up operations were ongoing to track fleeing elements and dismantle their logistics networks in the area. Military airstrikes eliminate scores of ISWAP terrorists in Borno operations By: Zagazola Makama Precision air interdiction missions conducted by the Nigerian Air Force component of Operation HADIN KAI have eliminated scores of ISWAP terrorists in separate coordinated strikes at Kangarwa and Ali Jilamari areas of the Northern Tumbuns in Borno State. Military sources told Zagazola Makama that the operations were executed on April 1, following credible intelligence and confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The source said the first strike was carried out at about 12:05 p.m. on ISWAP enclaves in Kangarwa, a known terrorist stronghold, after ISR conducted on March 27 confirmed mass movement of fighters within the location. According to him, airborne surveillance identified multiple terrorists operating around and inside structures within the enclave before precision munitions were delivered in successive attack passes. He said the targeted structures were completely destroyed, with scores terrorists neutralised in the strike, while others scampered for safety in different direction. In a separate operation at about 4:45 p.m. the same day, the air component conducted another interdiction mission at Ali Jilamari, described as a newly established terrorist hideout in the Northern Tumbuns. The source said the mission followed credible human intelligence and ISR confirmation, which revealed active terrorist logistics hubs and structures within the area. He added that the air platforms engaged the targets with precision strikes, destroying identified structures and logistics hubs while eliminating additional terrorists. The source described the operations as part of sustained air offensives aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities and denying them freedom of movement in the Lake Chad Basin |

Following the recent discovery and subsequent legal proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja, a chilling narrative has emerged regarding a dismantled espionage network. Iran had sleeper cells in Nigeria who have been actively spying on both the U.S. and Israeli embassies. These cells were carrying out information and surveillance gathering on both U.S. and Israeli interests in Lagos, including the U.S. Consular office. They were sending this data back to an individual identified as Abu Ali in Iran through encrypted software, preparing such locations for a terrorist attack. The operation was led by Haruna Ali Abbas, who acted as the primary coordinator for the cell. Abbas, along with Ibrahim Hussein Musa and Adam Suleiman, was intercepted by the Department of State Services (DSS) following a period of intense clandestine activity. According to testimonies from DSS Deputy Director James Simon, the defendants confessed to receiving specialized training at an Iranian military barracks. During their time in Iran, they were instructed in weapon handling and the collection of open source intelligence specifically targeting American and Israeli assets. The cell's tradecraft was sophisticated, utilizing coded language and high level encryption software to exfiltrate tactical target packages to their handler, Abu Ali. These packages included detailed lists of American and Israeli concerns in Lagos and their precise locations mapped out for potential kinetic strikes. Beyond physical surveillance, the cell even monitored diplomatic cooperation, such as Israeli agricultural support to the Kwara State government, to identify every possible point of contact. The downfall of Abbas began on March 16, 2013, when Abbas was arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport while returning from Lebanon. The subsequent investigation revealed a broader conspiracy to recruit young Nigerians for terrorism training abroad. Now facing trial before Justice Emeka Nwite, the defendants extrajudicial statements have exposed the depth of the plot, with the court adjourning until April 4 for further cross examination as the Nigerian government seeks to finalize the sentencing for these acts of preparatory terrorism. |
