As long as at the date of their travel the medical is still valid, then, they have no issues. If IRCC needed a fresh medical, they would have requested for it. Congratulations! Thank you for the response |

Alhamdulilah! PPR finally dropped for my wife’s SOWP and 2 kids(VV and study permit). We applied October 2nd, 2021 Medical passed November 15th and then the long wait. Eligibility started August 5th,BVL dropped August 9th and PPR came in August 17th. Their trip is scheduled to depart this September ending and Our medical expires October 15. I will like to know the implication of leaving 2 weeks to the expiration of medicals on their visa. Is this going to cause issues at the port of entry? If they take another medical exam before the expiration of the current medicals, will it over ride the current one? I fear IRCC might not update the new medical on time before their departure time. What do you advise? 6 Likes |

skull4eva: Guys! Finally the remaining part of the puzzle was solved this morning after more than 28 emails and webforms back to back. Remember my kids got PPR on 28 June 2022 while my spouse got medical request. The medicals was done July 14th at IOM and the stamped passports of the kids was gotten back from abuja VSF of July 15th. Iom sent the result for medical on July 21st and IRCC uploaded that same day. Then another wait began and i started sending emails and webforms also at some point contacted my mp again. Yesterday morning we got BVL but this morning around 3.20am EDT she go the PPR. At last exactly 1year and 7days becos the application was submitted 22nd July 2021. It has ended in praises. While waiting for her PPR i already booked airfrance for september just to buy time and also pay less flight fees even at that i paid pass 3k CAD Congrat bro |

Thank you for your response. Is this compulsory? Can't the PA book and do medical first if the spouse is not available to do it the same time? Not compulsory at all. It's actually up to you. The PA can book first then Spouse can book later. Upfront is just to safe the stress of looking for a closer date when IRCC request for medical. |

teebullion1: Good morning house, Please when applying as a family, is it possible to book for medicals separately i.e. can PA do an upfrom medical whille accompanying spouse wait for medical request or must the family book and do the medical at the same time. The family can book and do upfront medical at the same time. |

If you already in Canada, you don't need to stress yourself. Just go to the boarder and get the permit. Or is it for your spouse in nigeria? I am soo happy because this means we can start planning for the future.
Please I have a question. My husband has gotten admission for a masters in Canada for January 2023. Has anyone switched from a work permit to a study permit when they enter Canada? Did they encounter any issues? Thank you.
I really hope everyone gets an approval soon and can be reunited with their families.

My wife applied for SOWP and visiting visa for the kids in october which is still pending. They recently applied for visiting visa and was refused which led to my son's vv under her sowp being withdrawn.
Now we would like to reapply for him. He will be 5 by may so we don't know whether to opt for study visa or reapply for visiting visa. 1 already reached out to the school district in my province and got LOA for him.
Should we reapply for a vv under her sowp or a study visa |

Akannitommy: If all other documents are ready AND you feel good about it, please go ahead and submit applications. But also make sure to secure medical appoint dates right away for them. If you receive request for medical exam before that date, then you can always attach it with the proof of appointment to get an emergency appointment within a week I think. If cost is a problem book with IOM so you can at your own convenience ahead of the medical date although I don't know if they have a rule requiring immediate payment nowadays. Best of luck!
Thanks |

Teenie19: Dear Nairaland family,
It has finally dropped ooooo! Glory be to God Almighty!!!!
Sister's application AOR: Feb 11 2021 Program: Practical nursing May 2021 (Sheridan college)- clearly can't go for May 2021 anymore due to delay, will go for Jan 2022 session! Upfront medical : April 28, 2021 ( we said let's do medical to see if it will speed things up, lol jokes) Medical passed: June 14, 2021 (just see how long it took them to update medical!) Eligibility started: July 23, 2021 PPR and correspondence letter: this morning July 27th @ 4:34am!
What a wait! Basically this application took 5 months and 16 days. I remember I considered withdrawing the application at some point, but you all encouraged me to hold on! During this waiting period, 3 gcms notes were ordered and the fourth one has been ordered as well. All the gcms notes received didn't have much info as eligibility was blank. Each time I got the gcms notes, I was always disappointed that eligibility was blank. Now that I think of it, I guess it's not a bad thing...
I just want to use this medium to thank everyone for their support through out this journey! This is a wonderful platform and we all draw strength and hope from one another! One thing that helped me during the long wait was seeing other people's approval postings. I was always encouraged by those success stories. I remember telling myself that my testimony was near when DD097 and demure got approved as we all applied around the same time and faced this delay..
In short, this is a wonderful platform and I hope more people get to know about the wonderful support we have here! Thanks to all the gurus and everyone that tries to assist others with their questions! If you have any questions for me , please feel free to ask here so others can learn from it ! I'm rooting for all my co- February applicants and any one with a delayed application and of course everyone on here , that you will all get a favourable response soon in Jesus name!
Cheers to more success stories !
Good news. Congratulations |

Hi,
Are you a headed to Montréal? Same here.
You don’t need a Government approved hotel to quarantine if you’re fully vaccinated. Any hotel, Airbnb, or apartment with single or separate occupancy will do.
You are open to other hotels with more flexible refund policies. But I’m also having issues designing my quarantine plan. Thanks. Heading to Fredericton but my first stop in Canada will be Montreal. |

may99: Hi
I’ve read a little about this. Vaccinated ppl don’t need to do hotel stopover. They only need to present a quarantine plan for 14 days. This may be in an Airbnb, hotel, or apartment with single or separate occupancy.
I stand to be corrected but this is the information I got from watching several youtube videos of vaccinated ppl traveling after the new policy.
Also, once you’re exempted, you can inform the hotel of quarantine of your status and request a refund if you wish to proceed to other locations.
Thanks for the response. However most of the hotel Montreal seem not to to have a full refund policy. Do you know any government approved hotel that has full refund policy? |

lawfree638:
All current vaccinated policies will still apply if you are unvaccinated.
The best is to get the vaccine and save yourself the stress of being vaccine-marginalized because that is where we are heading to in some months time. The fully vaccination stuff is still confusing. Based on what I read on canada website, if you are fully vaccinated you still need to make arrangements to book hotel for 3 night before departing your country. Entry requirements for the fully vaccinated exemption Fully vaccinated travellers must follow the entry requirements:
Pre-entry test required Quarantine plan in case you don’t get the exemption Arrival test Requirements checklistQuarantine plan in case you don’t get the exemption Final determination of whether or not you qualify for the exemption is made by a government representative at the border.
You must therefore be prepared to quarantine for 14 days, in case you:
are symptomatic don’t meet the requirements I need more clarification please |
