Please mama's, is there a remedy to tongue/lip sucking? Has anyone successfully stopped the habit for lo.? My lo initially started lip sucking. I thought it was teething. But it's 2months now and no new teeth. Am forced to consider the fact that his sucking. I'm smacking the lip and cautioning but it seems to be getting worse. Does it all the time and almost throughout sleep. Help! Sucking can be a difficult habit to break when grown, how do I stop it now? Lo is almost 2years old.

Hello mamas, please help chook month. My baby stretches and grunts a lots these days and my MIL said its navel things that we should get Gripe Water for her. I asked a matron and she said she can't use it that we should get Nospamin. I got the nosman and it doesn't seem to be working as the stretches and grunting continues so MIL is still saying we get the gripe water. She said even a day baby can use it that who gave me wrong information. Please what do you have to say on this. Thank you.

Well I used gripe water "woodward's" brand. Their stretches and grunting are usually because of various things. Mostly tummy aches from trapped air, overfeeding; they might just want to pacify themselves to sleep and still keep suckling even when full, hence overfeeding. Also they do that when they want to poop or fart; they haven't figured out the right muscles to contract to enable them poop/fart, hence the grunting and stretching to find a way to poop. Notice how when they finally poop, they settle down?

When lo cries, place tummy on ur shoulder, apply little pressure while pating the back to expel any trapped air. If my LO continues crying after trying all I can to expel air and pacify(even if I put to breast, LO still cry) I give the gripe water (little, no more than 2.5ml) and the settle down quickly afterwards and sleep.

Nothing unusual or bad has happened. So this is my experience.

There is. Just Vitamin A. They said Vitamin A is given every 6months. But there's no 12months schedule instead 15months. Calculating 6months after is 21months(1yr 9months) So maybe that's what the center is adopting. Though mine just gave at 6, 15, 18, 24months.

Let me take you on the thepeoples_doctor. A doctor that made a mistake and couldn't even admit to it and apologize. She told me to go do Hormonal profile on day 10 but nairaland and the net says something different from it when I pointed out to her she claimed it usually the lab that gives them the days to do it. I was livid, you are a doctor and claiming you make women pregnant.


Please leave people's doctor she more concerned about her consultation fees, once you make payment GBAM she gives you test to run, and if you don't message her she will not even bother to know if you how fairing concerning your status.


Please, leave that woman abi na lady out of it.

Wow am just seeing this. Am sorry you had such experience. I know she has alot of patients she's working with and alot more women and men consulting with her or laying out their complaints. She also tries to carry everyone on her page along by giving details, explanations as to why she does this or that. Seeks permission to rest and recharge before going back to consultations. With the work load she handles, i advice to be patient with her. Always update on a daily. Unlike physical consultation that last for a couple hours and end, u can send msg to her at any time of the day and she'll get to it eventually. Come to think of it, am yet to meet a doctor that call up his patients to ask after them not because of pride, but they do alot and when they take breaks, the just rest and recuperate.

No one is perfect, we get tired, snap and other emotions. Mode of approach and communication matter to every individual. She works hard and should be paid for her hardwork. She has success with fertility and evidence of proof. Men and women attest to it. I suggest one remain calm and obtain the help she's qualified to render. Discuss your questions and any difference from the norm with the intention of obtaining understanding and optimum health care not necessarily apology.

There might be some stubborn cases, but she gets results and thats the grace and hope everyone with an issue should find. Just type and search @thepeoples_doctors here on nairaland and see how many reccomendations she has from different people. That means Dr Ese is not all bad.

Yes she will. Keep watching her. If it doesnt improve, just take her in so they can listen to her chest and lungs. If its clear, then she's good.

Cant remember exactly, but by the time i started siting him down (ending 3month-4month old) that phase was behind us.

Its always worse at night and better during the day. I remember steaming him regularly. In my effort to decongest him, I'd keep a bucket containing boiled water+balm between my feet, hold him on my lap and Cover us both with a towel so he can inhale the steam. Cant say it helped tho.

My DD is 2month old now, i just give her very warm baths and massage her body with hot(not burning) water. Its already slowing. She doesnt sound as she did when she was 1month old.

Good morning mamas, am a first timer and it feels good to be here, as am learning alot already.

Pls my 1month old baby makes this sound that sounds like she is snoring, initially she was throwing out food from both nose and mouth and I took her to the hospital where they gave me erythrokid (Erythromycin) and it reduced but I still notice that she makes this sound like she is snoring or having dried cough which makes her so uncomfortable.

pls has any mama experienced this and what do I do cos I get to situp every night just to watch her breathing.

I remember my DS was always making sounds when breathing and always seemed like he was struggling to breathe. As a ftm then, i was worried. Like u, i stayed up at night watching him. Sounded like his nostrils where clogged and couldnt breathe. He didnt have catarrh though it sounded like it.

As a ftm, if Ds even sneezes, ffiiaammmmm!!! i'm at the pediatrician office. So u can imagine the speed i used to reach the pediatrician's office when i heard him breathe like that. She(the pediatrician) had to ask if i was a ftm, i said yes. She smiled, probably thinking "no wonder" in her head. She checked his heart sounds with that their thingy, and assured me it sounded clear and its normal for him to sound like that due to their tiny nostrils that gets easily congested by irritants or smells(powder, silverbird, perfume, spray or any strong smelling substance in the air). Said to keep the room ventilated and prop his head up when sleeping.

So i opened windows, and put an almost flat pillow under his bed to prop it up(not placing Baby head directly on a pillow). Her advice didnt stop me from running back to her office two more times on the same matter cos most times, it seemed like he couldnt breathe again. She'd check his chest and assure me its still clear. She said, as long as the can cry, they can breathe. A child that cant breathe cannot cry.

DH was frustrated then cos i wouldnt listen to him telling me our baby was fine. I'd just cry that he wants our child not to be okay, but it won't work for him.. Lol. Ped consultation was 10k and u all know u pay for each consult. Thats to say i had an angry hubby to deal with each time i returned with "the doctor said he's fine report" hahahaha... But i didnt mind dealing with that. Better an angry hubby than a sick child.

Less i forget, it didnt stop immediately, DS still sounded like that and regurgitates his food, i just had to wait it out. Now, my DD does same, as a semi-pro(#winks��) i just prop her up and wait it out.. Loool.. But this her skin problem is a first for me, so am really worried about that.

It could be eczema, infantile eczema or Atopic dermatitis. It is usually triggered, and the trigger can be bath soap, cream, detergent, even wool in clothes, food etc.

You may have to change soap to hypoallergenic bath wash (soap free) and keep moisturizing.

Please Google eczema in babies to know how to handle it

What can I use to cure the rashes on my baby private part.

I've started bathing my three month baby with Ala herbs medicine.

A good barrier cream like sudocrem would help. Also, baby tribotan works to clear it up in no time. When cleared, apply moderate layer of sudocrem, or tribotan or any good barrier cream regularly to minimize & prevent recurrence. Try to keep the area dry. Use diapers that trap moisture in and away from baby's skin, while changing regularly or change nappies promptly when wet.

I've been to the female version of this group. I've read a couple of post. There's even a case of Azoospermia. A lot of low motility.

Allow me to point a way. Especially if you have been trying to boost. I've happened upon a treatment that yields success even to Azoospermia. I don't know the drugs, but this doctor does. Good evening ladies. My husband did sperm analysis in January. Everything was normal except motility which was 18%. He was placed on Enhanz and vit E for three months. He did another test recently. The motility raised to 32%. Please what other treatment can he take to improve the motility?

32℅ motility is not good. Atleast a 50%. I happened upon a treatment that makes a difference. This time frame(3months), would most likely boost it up to over 60℅ with this doctor. I genuinely want testimonies here. I feel strongly about it. Since I discovered it, I'm moved to take it upon myself to point this direction. No doctor. He doesn't sweat a lot. He wears light clothing during this heat period. Just singlet and shorts.

No, she doesn't have any sores. Haven't noticed any.

What do you suggest? I noticed this evening that the slight bump is developing. Its a little more raised than it was this morning. So I guess the boil is gradually developing.

Hello doctor. Good afternoon.Thank you for all you do. I also have the issue of recurring boil on my now 16months old. Here's a little history in case it helps somehow. Its a long read.

I've never had any skin problems with my son since he was born aside the minor diaper rash every now and then.

I got a help when he was 6months old and shortly after her arrival, he developed a very stubborn rash around his neck that refused to leave. I thought it to be drool rash since he drooled a lot then which I attributed to teething (however he didnt get his first tooth till13month old), but it never left no matter what I tried. I also noticed a similar rash on the neck of my help and began limiting her contact with LO while also treating hers which she insisted was just heat rash. Due to some behavioural characteristics, I let go of my help after about 3months and only then did my LO's rash eventually fade out completely.

I recently got another help this January and since her arrival, I've battled with a lot of recurring skin problems with LO from mosquito-like rashes that appear in groups of 4-7 at a time to his first boil ever on the right side of his forehead. Took him to the hospital and the didn't feel bothered about the boil being that its just one and not big. He was given Erythromycin for the mosquito-like rashes which they said was skin infection and enquired about his drinking water which is the same his had since he was an infant.

I let the boil mature while applying warm compress during his baths. I gave him paracetamol on days his seemed in great discomfort and weepy. It eventually opened but didn't drain completely. On the 2nd day after first rupture, I drained it out by pressing out the pus while observing high sterile mannerisms to avoid infecting any other part of his skin. It eventually dried and healed. My joy was short-lived as a 2nd appeared on his head. I felt the slight bump while washing his hair during a bath(he has full head of hair). It later matured as well and this drained completely on its own. I didn't need to press it. Then another 2 bumps appeared(one on the left side of his head and another at the middle of his forehead) I noticed these bumps to be the beginnings of another boil. I took him to the pharmacy and he was given ampiclox at 5mls for 5daysprescription. The boils never matured but instead dried up and disappeared. This was on 16-20th march, 2020.

Yesterday, I noticed another 2 bumps; one on his forehead and another on the back of his right palm(first one outside the head region). Am just tired and frustrated of this recurrence.

PS: In February, I asked my help to try on some clothes, and I noticed the multitude of eczema on her back. I've been treating her with ketokonazole tab and cream since then but its not bulging. The pharmacist said BACK eczema are often stubborn and take a long time to treat.

What do I do about the recurring boils? Should I give him ampiclox again to dry it up now? How do I stop this recurrence? His so playful now with only 4teeth so far(2 up and 2down). He hasn't started school either, so is always home.

You don’t need to. You can still breastfeed while pregnant and even if he rejects it, continue with formula, and pap. Pregnancy doesn’t affect taste or quality of breast milk. Before you’ll birth, your baby will be 1year and 2months. It’s also a good age difference. A lot of siblings are spaced by a year. Pls consider this. Pregnancy poses no harm to you or your little one.

Try baby tribotan, just very little at a time so he doesn't sweat more, and try to make sure he's always dressed for the weather and doesn't sweat a lot.

Thanks. He sweats on his neck area even if he’s not wearing any top. The rash seems to be spreading. I’ll try the cream.

Hello moms. My 5month old has a very stubborn drool rash on his neck. I’ve tried fighting it with Agnesia powder but it seems to make it worse.also tried leaving it alone but didn’t improve. Am currently dabbing it with methylated spirit twice a day after his bath but still no improvement. I try to always keep the area dry from drool and sweat. Nothing has worked and it’s been weeks.

Please what else can I try to effectively extinguish this rash for good?
