Hi there. I started this thread because I couldn't find actionable record. I hope to travel to India with my autistic son sometime this year for Stem cell therapy treatment with NeuroGen. I'm calling for any real time experiences or even feedback from anyone that has gone through this process. Comments from Nigerians in India about the hospital would be appreciated. I hope to document as much as I can when we do go to also help others wondering about it. |
I've joined a seminar from NeuroGen about this therapy. Stem cells injected into the spinal cord. Can you offer more real life testimonies as well as follow ups on kids that have benefited from this therapy? |
Layormiii:Thanks |
Who knows about kids educational tablets? What’s your review on them? Which is best and affordable for now? Any mama here that sells? |
Vickho and Ninisun .. Time out! I had to check if I was in the right page when I came online. The banter is enough. Though a faceless forum, please light, respect and love. The other thousands moms in here don’t want to come and see this. E do! |
oladele239:Congratulations to you papa!! Well you can get her lactation cookies. She should keep putting him to breast when awake and also pumping when he’s asleep. All that should trigger more production. Bearable hot/Warm water breast compress also help with milk let down. She should also continue with the pap and keep eating well. While Exclusive breastfeeding is good, please do not hesitate to feed him formula using spoon (all supplementary feeding should be with spoon for now so he doesn’t reject breastfeeding. This can happen if he gets used to feeding with a bottle). The important thing is that he’s well fed to avoid dehydration. Sending you more strength as you continue to take on your role as a loving, supportive, caring husband as well as a hands-on-dad (as much as you can). Congratulations to you both!! |
Linda2019:Honestly I can’t say it helps or doesn’t. The leaflet doesn’t prescribe such close proximity. However I did try it back in the years in a desperate effort to alleviate congestion for LO, but I can’t say it worked cos the congestion didn’t clear immediately or even 2days after. I even added few drops to bathing water then. I feel like the congestion just ran it’s course and left. Steaming definitely offered short term relief. Nasal congestion is especially troublesome at night. Hence, try to steam, and lay them with their head elevated, catch sleep when baby does then channel the waking moments to soothing LO. |
Pweetiebabe:Lol. Alright then. As long as you maintain your ground, she will move on from that sooner than later. |
Pweetiebabe:Chai my sister! Your suffering o. Lol! You mean to say my DD age mate(May 9th) is still doing that? Ahh!! She fit’nt oo. You must rest at night cos the grandmaster of sleepless night is on the way. It won’t be easy cos madam already has plenty sense and can definitely exercise her right to protest but like a strong dictator, you must rule that out. The truth is that she’s not hungry, it’s just a habit and as with all habits, it will be difficult for her to let go at first. But let go, she MUST. Now you have to prepare your mind and hubby’s mind for the next maybe 1week disturbance at night. Shift her to a solo room and sleep there with her so she doesn’t wake the whole house with shout. For her age, there’s no tactics involved. Just plain stopping. When she wakes up, tell her “no pap” offer her WATER. Not juice, not tea, not anything else but water. If she no gree, drop am for bedside table or ground where she can see it. Then tell her to go sleep. She would protest but stand firm with NO. She’ll prolly meltdown and cry. Just lock you both inside the room and let her cry it out till she tire and sleep. Do it for 1week and let’s see how far. |
sugah:I remember this. I stumble upon the ad somewhere and downloaded it. But I didn’t get a response after I replied to all their questions as per the need for the scholarship. I’ll try again since you confirmed it as a useful tool. Thanks. |
Mamabella:Please don’t worry yourself at all. Yes, she might be a late teeth..er, but that’s all it is. The most important is what you’ve confirmed(she has the teeth under her gums) they MUST come out when ready. My son too was prompt with all his milestones, but late at teething even with all the teething signs and I could see the teeth just under his gum for months. But he celebrated his 1year birthday toothless. First two teeth finally came out at 13months old. Now he has a full mouth of teeth. Just enjoy her gummy smile for a bit more and do not worry yourself about it at all. It will be WORRY put to WASTE. Lol. Some babies never take milk (as in formula) especially the EBF babies. Just add enough to the cereal she likes. The important thing is that she gets her age appropriate milk into her body in the daily quantity needed. As for her slim nature, the best you can do is feed her balanced diet. More fatty foods (u can browse age appropriate fatty food), make sure she gets siesta and even more sleep (the more active they are, the more they’ll burn up fat). Typically, when kids gain mobility, they loose weight a bit. |
ChizziCindy:Like earlier stated, they really can stick to what they know or in this case, their known method of feeding. But you just have to keep trying, if she refuse, feed her with spoon and offer her bottle again (little breastfeeding for now) to assist her switch. Las las, you might want to consider a daycare very close to your office where you can rush in every 2hours to feed if all fails while they supplement with spoon feeding. Goal is to feed DD and work. More strength mama. |
Goldenheart002:Lol. Thank you for the mail mama. ❤️ |
Cedarlivia:I didn’t get your mail mama. Please resend realstephjamal@gmail.com |
Adesquare2:Please do mama. realstephjamal@gmail.com Let’s walk it together. |
sugah:Thank you momma. I honestly do not understand how the DM works. I have sent a couple but judging by the lack of response thus far, am guessing i maybe didn't do it right. Thank you for taking the effort to resend it here. With the response thus far, am having even more hope of getting ahead of this. I appreciate this platform and sisterhood. I can't wait to gather up what i can to conquer this. Thankful. |
Goldenheart002:Mama Goldenheart!! For a minute i thought you were taking an online break. Didn't see your monika for abit. No I didn't see your contact. I saw the notification on my top screen that you sent me and email, but till today, i've searched everywhere for it with no success. Please email me at realstephjamal@gmail.com I will be expecting your message please. |
Cedarlivia:Oh mama, pleasant news indeed! When i see positive stories like these i have so much hope for my DS. He is also 3years 7months old now. Am not sure how to send you a PM so we can talk. Can i get your email? I'll also try the PM. Please consider as urgent. Am sure you understand. If you'd email me at realstephjamal@gmail.com that would be much appreciated. Thank you. |
Evening moms. Happy celebrations!!!!! Still looking out for response for a tested, trusted and result oriented speech therapist anyone? @Goldenheart002, @sugah, and other mommazz |
Tmat:Was it flat before pregnancy? This too is a factor. Then have you tried the whole waist trainer and exercise? Though to see results would take a while, but I here it’s satisfying, without side effects and permanent in the long run. But more sabi mama’s would share their opinions. |
SecretReporter:Oh yes!.. The sleepless nights. That is a rite of passage o. The best you can hope for is a swift “wake-up, fuss, feed, burp and sleep back” trend each time he wakes up. Stay strong dad, you’ll adjust and get better at it. |
Omakraid:No you didn’t. Absolutely refrain from massaging it or applying ice block. The cool water that runs over the lap during bath is ok. Massaging can lead to lump and subsequent abscess formation. That penta vaccine is painful but you don’t want to go through abscess drainage with your LO. It’s heart shattering, I kid you not! Your already doing great. Be untop of the paracetamol administration. Don’t wait for the fever to pick up before you administer. Just do so every 6hrly at the most, carry, cuddle and soothe DD through it. Try not to shake the leg as much. That Penta is brutal honestly. Poor babies. Pls is there anywhere they do Circumcision without pain in Lagos? That wan too is not for faint hearted. |
Tomblessings:I can’t say if hot water helps. But I do know breastfeeding helps. The uterus contracts as you breastfeed. Infact the contractions can really be painful during the 1-2week pp. DNA also plays a role. Did u have flat tummy before pregnancy? If yes, then your likely going to get it back to that or somewhat close to flat eventually with little or no physical effort. Generally try not to worry much. Breastfeed often and just let your body heal gradually. You can start waist trainer, exercise, etc about 5-6months pp. Your body is perfect. You housed a whole human being for 9months in there. Be kind to your body naaa... it needs time. |
Hi moms, it’s been a minute. How’s the family and LOs doing? Omo, I’ve been MIA here and I’m so happy to be posting again. Though I’ve been a nairalander for a while, I’m yet to understand how PMs and Emails work here. I mean, they say I’ve got emails but I can’t see any in my box. Ah well... please moms, who has contact of a serious minded, result oriented, speech and language therapist? My DS is now 3.7years with no much improvement. I need a therapist that’s knows how to get results in a short time. Affordable too... Mom Sugarh, 2funkky, and others with same challenges then, how’s things now? I wanted to start a thread on this but I don’t know how. A journey we weren’t prepared to take. It’s sad how NEEDS are now soo expensive. Am located at Awoyaya, Lagos. |
Merry Christmas moms!!! I hope everyone is having a merry celebration. Pls moms in the US, is there any provision for some kind of international early intervention grant/visa I can key into? DS is 3years now and not much improvement in speech. Seems like he’s become more difficult to manage especially when he’s not having his way. I’m confused whether it’s stubbornness or something neurological. I hear of the free early intervention going on there and wish I could key into it. |
sugah:Hi mom. Please how is therapy going? How long has he been on therapy? How’s his response to therapy? How old is DS? Where did you do the hearing test? Though am 101% certain my son hears just fine. |
Hello moms. Moms residing in yaba or those who are familiar with “The audio dept for kids at Military hospital yaba” should please tell me about their working days. I wish to visit and meet with specialist there. I have browsed but couldn’t get a number to call. Due to distance, I’d like to make a successful trip once and hate to be turned back. Any information about the days and time their specialist are available will be very appreciated. Thanks. |
podium:How is she now? Hope she’s a lot better. Please have this panda paracetamol drop for infants. That’s the type for her at this age. The dosage for her is in the leaflet. Administer as a first aid while taking her to hospital once there’s a fever to temper it down. Everything going into her mouth must be clean please. If you use bottles, take extra precautions in the sterilization and handling. Wash hand thoroughly if you must put it in her mouth for whatever reason. Her immunity is still very low. I believe she already sleeps in her baby netted bed. Avoid fevers at this age. Too young. You’ve got this momma. Stay strong. |
Pweetiebabe:FBC is done most times to see the levels of Platelets, and co. The numbers indicate whether or not there’s an infection, how severe, and the type(viral/bacterial). Severe numbers are treated with IVs most cases while mild take home meds. Since you’ve been treating malaria, the doc now suspects an infection. Infection most times causes nasty unrelenting fevers. |
Good evening moms. Am in need of career attires for 3years old. Affordable please. Am located at Awoyaya, Lagos. Anyone have a good referral? Thanks |
Goldenheart002:This would be very much appreciated. Am not sure how PM works here. But i would very much love to hear from you. Thank you. |
Someone advised we massage the legs yesterday so it won't swell but I told my mum we ain't massaging anything, i hope i didn't do wrong?
