It seems more and more industries are popping up or leaving Lagos to set up shop in Ogun state, but I disappointed at the rate of Infrastructural development in Ogun state tbh.

The question you should be asking is ....how many of these so called industries are owned by Ogun indigenes.... If they are owned by outsiders trust me Ogun gains little in terms of 10% percent tax and 90% capital flight....the advantage of Onitsha is that 90% of the industry are owned by Anambra and the momey doesn't leave

This is incorrect. Etymologically speaking, "Igbo" is likely an older term for "bush" or "forest" (indicating forest-dwelling civilization). The tonal pronunciation for "gboo" (two high tones) is also entirely different from "Igbo" (two low tones), indicating lack of a shared etymology.



This is also untrue and for all intents and purposes, propaganda. There is no evidence that suggests a shared identity prior to the arrival of the British. So for all intents and purposes, the individual you responded to is correct. The British were responsible for creating the modern definition of "Igbo" that we have today, and the "Igbo" are responsible for codifying it into a the "ethnic nationality" that it is today after the Biafran war. This means Igbo people have really only been "Igbo people" for the last 50 years. This however should not be cause for any mental distress. "Igbo" now exists as a defined umbrella identity. It is a real thing now and there is no need to make up a fake history for it. We do not need to lie just to feel like we gave it some legitimacy before we move forward as "Igbo" people.

Yes there was an identity known as Igbo before the colonial masters came, however that identity did not cover everyone who is an Igbo person today. The Igbo identity only applied to a section of Igbo people in the past and not everyone.

Nsukka, Nkanu, Enuani, Ukwuani, Ikwerres, Ngwas, Ezza-Izzi e t c people never identified themselves as Igbo people before colonial masters came....

Same with Yoruba... The Yoruba identity originally belonged to Oyo people only, but the British united everyone else under this identity.

All of my post on this forum about akwacross/Efik ibibio unity are my lone idea because I think they should be more united and forge a common front . No Efik person I've ever shared the idea to supports any unity with akwa ibom people . I expressed the need for unity on many occasions to my dad and uncle and to a few people at Efik national Convention here in the US. not a single Efik person want any unity with Akwa ibom. On this forum, many Akwa ibom people also oppose unity.

AkwaCross group is a huge group they can come together and even have a central language it's possible

In Igbo land we have over 20 dialects from Isobo to Anambra from Ikwerre to Nkwerre , from Asaba to Enugu but there is a central Igbo that all can key into and understand

Same with Yoruba, they have egba dialect, Ijebu , kabba, Okun , Ekiti dialect but the central dialect is Lagos type of Yoruba

While Kano Hausa is the central dialect of Hausa

You people keep shouting we're in calabar in Numbers, it's like complaining why u have many anambra people in asaba knowing fully well that is Delta Igbo territory or complaining why ogun Yorubas are in Lagos. Just because we don't have an umbrella name like hausa or Igbo doesn't mean we shouldn't associate with our sisters across the river, besides Akwa ibomites are adventurous and hustling people, we're found in Numbers everywhere especially in neighboring states, not the same can be said about nothern and central Cross riverians who hardly leave their domain to ebonyi or benue which they border, no one is stopping Cross riverians from flooding Akwa ibom, you all are free. Cross river is 3 times larger than Akwa ibom. Cross river lost 79 oil wells to Akwa ibom. Akwa ibom receives $55 million dollars per month while Cross river receives $9 million dollars per month. There are thousands of Akwa ibom people living in Cross river ,but there's not up to 200 people from cross river living in Akwa ibom, yet Akwa ibom brags , and also rejects Akwacrosss unity. Think about that one .


Who said Efik and ibibio were recently coined terms? You do not read to understand, you read to find faults and criticize. I've carefully read and reasoned with every single thing you wrote ,but you haven't done the same. The problem lies in the fact that you think ibibio or Efik is a distinct ethnic group like Igbo or Yoruba, when in fact ibibio is a community and dialect just like Ngwa is community and dialect. Efik is community and dialect. ( Ibibio ,Efik,Oron,Annang) make up an ethnic group with no official umbrella term . Igbo is an umbrella term which was coined about 50 years ago for related communities and dialects like Ngwa,Onicha,Nsukka,etc.
(Efik ,Ibibio,Oron,Eket,Annang) are Calabarians or Akwacross or Efik/Ibibio . (Ngwa,Onicha,Nsukka,Ikwerre,Owerre,Abakiliki,Idemili,Aro ) are Igbos . The same is true for all ethnicity on earth.
Stop propagating baseless claims saying Ibibio is distinct ethnic group,Efik is distinct ethnic group ,Annang is distinct ethnic group, and vice versa.
All of that division makes the Efik/ibibio people weak and docile. Everyone is laughing at Efik/ibibio foolishness. 90 percent of those who liked your comments are enemies who wish to see a divided and conquered Akwacross people . Oil does not last forever .

It's only in Igbo land that you see people bearing the names of their town like igbokwe, Nwosu Igbo, igboma , igbodike , Nwaigbo


It's only in Igbo land that you have towns Igbo Igbo land cardinal points bearing Igbo to show they are Igbo irrespective of the dialect
In the Igbo north (Enugu axis ) we have Igbo Etiti
In South the rivers we have Ọbigbo
In central we have Igbo Ukwu ( Anambra )
In West have Igbuzor (Delta State ) and Akwukwu Igbo


Igbo have been in existence (independently for centuries and these independent clans identify themselves as Igbo for centuries !)

Even the Igbo at the fringes of cross river (Isobo) and the ones at fringes of AKS identify themselves as Igbo for centuries
