I served in Ebonyi state in Ezza North to be precise just a little less than 10 years ago and I can say authoritatively that there was no single bank in the whole of Ezza North at the time. We had to go to Abaliki before we could make withdrawals. I knew how many kilometers we had to trek just to make a call, we couldn't even receive calls because there were no network. How will REAL TIME transmission of results work in those areas? Or election should not hold in those areas abi?
So, if them ask you no, you go answer say banks dey all local government in Nigeria abi? Dey there.

Ofunaofu:
Tinubu Has Done More For The Security Sector Than PDP Did In 16 Years – Presidency Replies ADC’s Abdullahi

The presidency has accused the spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, of attempting to misrepresent the facts about security in Nigeria.

The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, maintained that President Tinubu has done more within two years in office than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under which Abdullahi served as a Minister did in the sixteen years it was in power.

The claim was made in response to a statement by Abdullahi on Saturday, who wrote via his 𝕏 account that the rising waves of insecurity in some parts of the cuntry is a confirmation that Nigeria has no government.

“The festering insecurity and violent attacks in Kwara, Katsina and other parts of the country, and massacre of innocent Nigerians is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government,” he wrote.

However, in response, Olusegun accused the former Minister of being dishonest with his submission and attempting to misrepresent the facts with reverse psychology.

The presidential aide listed increased security spending, sustained military intervention, moves for fast-tracking the establishment of state police, and recruitment of more security agents as some of the efforts already deployed by the Tinubu administration since coming into office.

He added that, contrary to what Abdullahi wants the public to believe, the efforts are already yielding results, and while recent attacks in some parts of the country are totally condemnable, the post by Abdullahi is far from the truth.

Olusegun wrote: “While the recent attacks in some parts of the country are totally condemnable, it will be dishonest, though unsurprising coming from you, to compare the efforts of a President who has done more for the security sector in two years than the whole 16 years of your former party, the PDP.

“For record purposes, by building on the efforts of his predecessor, Late President Muhammadu Buhari, who degraded Boko Haram beyond recognition, President Tinubu has continued to take different approaches to solving our insecurity issues in contrast to the dormant, uninspiring and directionless days of your party which led to the tweet quoted by you.

“Below is a compilation of some of the efforts of President Tinubu-led administration on security over the past two and half years.

“Defense spending surged from N1.25 trillion in 2023 to N4.91 trillion in 2025, facilitating disruptions of major terror cells and improved inter-agency coordination.

“Sustained military operations have yielded measurable results, including the surrender of more than 160,000 Boko Haram and ISWAP members and their families.

“Also, President Tinubu has continued to call for the fast tracking of local policing with many states already launching the scheme. Forest guards, mining marshals and other local security services have been introduced to improve grassroot security.

“To decentralize recruitment and encourage more people to join the military, President Tinubu approved establishment of army depots in Osogbo and Ebonyi which has been described as a welcome development across board.

“A significant overhaul of the national security frame work introducing a new counterterrorism doctrine that classifies all armed non-state actors as terrorists, as outlined in the 2026 budget.

“New institutions like the Livestock Development Ministry aim to resolve farmer-herder clashes, while the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education seeks to prevent vulnerable youth from being recruited into armed groups.

“Equipment procurement has bolstered capabilities, with the addition of five aircraft to the Nigerian Air Force (including two Diamond 62 surveillance planes, two T-129 ATAK helicopters, and one King Air 360 ER), enabling over 8,665 missions and 15,915 flying hours.

“In response, these efforts have led to the neutralization of 9,415 terrorists, arrest of over 3,159 suspects, and rescue of 5,449 hostages between August 2023 and April 2025.

“Also, these initiatives have contributed to reduced influence of groups like IPOB and overall progress in building community trust and addressing underlying social issues.

“Whether you like it or not, Nigerians who lived through both administrations will not be fooled by this attempt at revisionism.

“They see the effort, they know the process and they feel the seriousness; same cannot be said of the administration you are trying to whitewash today.

“We will not watch while you misrepresent the facts with reverse psychology here. No, we will not.”

Dey play, the real fear of APC is not the fact that they can't win on free and fair but the fact that external influence has already tag their administration as incompetent against the killing of christians in Nigeria. How do you expect them to use the same internet controled by this powerful nation without having a second thought? Besides, we can't have smooth transmission of results as not all locations in Nigeria have access to internet.

The problem of oppostions is that , they thought every soul in Nigeria is against APC government, which is very wrong as they still have millions of die hard loyal supporters, in which I personally know many of them.
Let them test their popularity in a free and fair election. Is that too much to ask?

hotseat:
In as much as real-time transmission of votes is desirable, it's workability should be put into consideration.

First and foremost is the issue of network coverage.

It's an established fact that network coverage is limited and doesn't cover the entire country.

Secondly, Internet coverage also faces similar fate and most times epileptic.

A third factor is that of electricity which is equally unsteady while most rural communities remain without electricity.

These and several other factors could mar the voting process if we insist on real-time transmission of votes and election results.

This would lead to a large population of voters being disenfranchised.

Let reason and not emotions prevail!

@hotseat
INEC was able to transmit National Assembly results electronically, but claimed that the presidential result transmission was glitched. It electronic transmission worked in 2023, it will work better on 2027.

Nobody has proffered solution, noise, noise is all they are making. If you insist on electronic transmission, how do we handle poor network on election day? Those rural areas with no network at all, how do we transmit their result? Stop making noise upandown, come up with creative solutions and you will have my support.
Is APC planning to cause poor network on election day? GSM penetration is almost 100%. BTW, the transmission operation can still be initiated in offline mode and updates the irev as soon as network is restored.

PoliticsRe: Why Islam Will Spread Across Igbo Land Despite All Opposition by Amumaigwe: 5:41pm On Feb 07
BAILMONEY:
Islam will continue to spread across the world because its message is simple and natural. It teaches that there is only one God, Allah, who deserves worship, and that human beings should live with purpose, discipline, and justice. This clear message answers the deepest questions people ask about life and God, which is why Islam keeps growing in every generation.

In 2025, many celebrities, influencers, and educated people accepted Islam after personal study. They were not forced. They chose Islam because they found peace and truth in it. This shows that Islam is not growing by culture or politics, but by sincere search for meaning.

In Igbo land, however, many Muslim reverts face serious challenges. An Igbo person who becomes Muslim is often rejected by family and treated like a stranger. Some Igbo graduates who accepted Islam return home but cannot get jobs because people no longer trust or support them. Their only mistake is choosing a different faith.

This goes against the Igbo saying Egbe bere, Ugo bere” (live and let live). The Igbo are known for tolerance, but when it comes to Islam, many forget this value. Christians and traditional worshippers who usually disagree often unite against Igbo Muslims instead of engaging them with understanding.

Islam does not teach hatred. It teaches respect, justice, and peaceful living. It only invites people to worship one God and think for themselves. Many young Igbo people are now questioning old teachings like the Trinity and the idea that Jesus is the begotten son of God, and some are finding answers in Islam.

No matter the opposition, Islam cannot be stopped. Truth is always resisted before it is accepted. Islam does not depend on people’s approval. It depends on Allah, and what comes from Allah will always continue to grow.

Finally, I call on Muslims everywhere, both Igbo and non-Igbo, to support this mission. Follow me on X as I work to educate people and contribute to the growth of Islam in Igbo land through knowledge and peaceful dialogue.

My X handle is on request.

The emboldened just shows that u don’t know anything of what u are purportedly wailing over, & u reiterate the point of the senators, a glitch can only occur when u transmit an item electronically, it is exactly what the senate is avoiding, that if there is a glitch in transmission, the manual hard copy can still be relied upon.

Same as going to a bank to make a deposit or transfer of funds with your thumb, & they say their system is down, u should go and do it over the counter, it doesn’t stop the bank from processing the request the old fashioned way manually.

What u & your fellow obidients are advocating for in mandatory transmission cluelessness, is that if for any reason the results cannot be transmitted electronically, those results should be discarded totally, & be inadmissible as evidence in court.
What are the possible reasons why INEC will not be able to transmit election result electronically with One Trillion naira budget?

PoliticsRe: Why Rejecting The “Mandatory” Electronic Transmission Of Results is Dangerous. by Amumaigwe: 5:41am On Feb 05
Wallade:
From information available, I think the Senate didn't remove electronic transmission of election results at polling centers as an option for INEC in the Electoral Act.

The Senate simply left it as an option subject to INEC but refused to indicate "electronic transmission of election results" as mandatory.

When you make it mandatory, it is no longer optional - that would be the law.

However, it would be stupid not to think about technological glitches, cyber attacks and sabotage, cyber hacking, information system failure, location challenges with IT infrastructure and other possible challenges. In view of these, there must be options.

Hence, I agree with the Senate on the decision not to make "electronic transmission of election results at polling centers" mandatory. It would be disastrous, counter productive and devastating where mandatory and the challenges present during electioneering.
No one can really support APC without sounding overly dumb.
FamilyRe: Two Years After Husband's Death, Anambra Widow, Her Five Children Perish In Fire by Amumaigwe: 4:31pm On Feb 04
IzunnaOkafor:
By Izunna Okafor, Awka

The quiet Isiekwulu village in Ukpo community, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, was thrown into grief over the weekend, as a widow and her five children, who lost their lives in a tragic fire incident in Burkina Faso, were laid to rest amid tears, anguish, and disbelief.

Happening exactly two years after the death of the breadwinner and father of the house, the burial ceremony, which held on Friday, consequently marked the end of the family already devastated by loss. Sympathizers, relatives, and well-wishers from within and outside the state thronged the community to witness what many described as one of the most painful funerals the area had seen in recent times.

According to reports, the deceased, Mrs. Uchenna Ngozichukwu Akubue (aged 47) and her five children: Justin Onyinyechukwu (aged 18), Chinenye Joan (aged 16), Chiemerie Victory (aged 16); Victor-Mary Chidike (aged 9), and Chidimma Epiphania (aged 6), died on December 23, 2025, after a candlelight ignited a fire that consumed their residence in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, where the family had lived for years.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn burial service held at St. Simon Catholic Parish, Akaezi-Ukpo, for the repose of their souls, after which they proceeded to the family compound in Isiekwulu village where their remains were interred, in an atmosphere charged with sorrow, considering the family’s painful history.

The husband of the deceased woman, Mr. Innocent Chinedu Akubue, it was gathered, had died just two years earlier in the same Burkina Faso after a brief illness. He was said to be about 50 years old at the time of his death, leaving behind his wife and five young children in the foreign land.

Few years before his death, Innocent was said to have had built a modern one-storey building in his hometown of Isiekwulu village, hoping to provide comfort for his family whenever they returned home from abroad for Christmas celebration. However, sadly, he did not live long enough to enjoy the home, and even more devastatingly, neither did his wife nor children.

With the burial of the widow and her children, the house now stands as the only physical reminder of a family completely wiped out by fate.

Narrating the family’s painful journey, a cousin of the late Innocent, Elder Paul Uche Akubue, described the incident as a devastating blow that defied explanation. He revealed that Innocent was the last surviving child of his parents, having lost his three siblings earlier in life, while their parents had also died years before.

According to him, Innocent initially left Ukpo for Lagos, where he established himself in the motor spare parts business, before later relocating to Burkina Faso. He was described as a devout Catholic who got married in Burkina Faso to Uchenna, also an indigene of Ukpo, and together they raised all five of their children in the West African country.

The cousin further disclosed that the tragedy almost ended in a mass burial abroad, as the Burkina Faso government offered and proposed to bury the six victims there. However, Igbo indigenes resident in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, and Togo reportedly rejected the plan and insisted that the bodies must be returned home.

Through collective effort and sacrifice, the Igbo community in those countries reportedly raised a total of ₦33.8 million to repatriate the remains to Nigeria for burial. Elder Paul described their support as overwhelming, noting that without their intervention, the family would have been denied the dignity of a home burial.

Despite the crushing loss, he expressed faith in God, stating that the tragedy, painful as it is, would not weaken his belief. He also noted that while human understanding fails in moments like this, he has chosen to accept the situation as part of divine mystery beyond human control.

When asked how it happened, Elder Paul recounted how he first received a distress call from Burkina Faso on December 23rd on the day of the incident, informing him that his cousin’s house had been engulfed in flames. According to him, later that same day, he received confirmation that the widow and all five children had perished in the inferno, a development that plunged the entire family into shock and grief.

On her own side, the late woman's younger sister, Mrs. Onyinyechukwu Nwafor, was visibly broken during the burial. Struggling to speak, she lamented that her elder sister and all her children were gone, leaving behind an empty home now occupied only by a security guard and caretaker.
The first thing I did after I started my family was to van the use of candle as source of light. I bought the old era kerosene lamps as last resort alternative to any naked light like candle.
May three souls rest in perfect peace, Amen
