Literature › Need A Job? Alicia Keys Has One For You! by Amya(op): 3:00pm On Apr 07, 2010
Singer Alicia Keys is looking for someone. In particular a writer to serve as head blogger for a new website IAAS.com (aka i am a superwoman)

The grammy winner is lunching this website in july to make her search a little easier, though keys has teamed up with monster.com for help.

"With IAAS, i'll be displaying my voice in a different way, and need just the right person to help me express a point of view that i don't think exists in the blog world yet" the singer said in a statement. Those interested have until may 3 to apply. Go to monster.com

Music/Radio › Music Now, And Music Then: by Amya(op): 1:55pm On Apr 07, 2010
Some people open threads to say stuffs about music now being wack.
Wack or no wack,
my opinion is this- it all comes down to the PEOPLE who these singers sing for.

As of today, majority of the 'consumers' in the the music market worldwide are teenagers who demand for light' crass, airy, no-sense-making and hugely COMMERCIAL music.

They being the majority buyer actually dictate the direction today's music goes. Musicians and their record labels are under so much pressure to go with that which is in 'vogue'. If you sing the reasonable 'real' songs, you face the risk of getting no recognition and going broke. The smart ones go with the flow and churn out those things people want to hear and smile to their banks. For instance, 'most' people in nigeria will appreciate a Terry G or Timaya rather than say a Dare Art Alade.

He who pays the piper, dictates the tunes,

My two cent.

So loving this thread!

My mum is the expert gist savourer. She has this habit of prolonging juicy gist till you are gasping (literally) for more. And she loves gisting while she's eating. She'll start like,
Mum: do you know that my friend, ( she moulds her eba and swallows)
me: mummy which friend? Which friend now, which,

Mum: don't you know that my friend that, (makes another eba dips in soup and swallows)

me: i don't know the one you are talking about. What did she do? Did anything happen to her? What about her, what,

Mum: don't you know that my friend, (swallows),

Me: forget the name, what happened?, And it goes on like this for hours(or so it seems). Before she finishes her gist, you are emotionally spent! And it may something she told you before. Sometimes i feel like screaming WILL YOU STOP EATING AND GET YOUR STORY OVER WITH!

Music/Radio › Re: On To The Next One Video, Jay-z Is Goddamn Illuminati by Amya(f): 9:23am On Jan 04, 2010
Jay z is most definitely illuminati, and he seems to be having fun with showing the world some clues. Truth is, some people won't still believe it.

Music/Radio › Re: Did Jay-z Mean To Offend Christians On 'Empire State Of Mind'? by Amya(f): 7:36pm On Dec 24, 2009
The thing is. I think jay z is evil and that his music is slowly but steadily brainwashing everyone. He has through his rap lines, granted interviews, choice of music video, prints on his shirts, logo for his design line & record label (where he used the pyramid and eye- the ultimate illuminati sign) as choice of logo. All these are all sign of him being part of the illuminati group. Illuminati's are headed by lucifer, and they are anti-christians. They believe they are their own god. Lucifer means bringer of light. Light means illumination (illuminati's therefore means lucifers people). Jay z knows what he's doing. Through rap, he's trying to bring more and more people to his master lucifer. He said it all in run this town. Many people are brainwashed already. But i guess it takes having eyes to really see. The end time is near and things are happening. That your idol may march you off to doom!

Give the guy a break! If anybody  is in the guys shoes they would be screaming blue murder too. The producer is criminally liable., and so does tuface, though indirectly.
