@ odiaero, i think your question is both chauvinistic and gender biased in nature.

It'd be really nice if the dude wins the case. It'd teach all those telecom operators to ease up on their fraudulent acts.

Methinks anybody who plays those gameshows need to have their heads checked.

How can anybody in this day and age fund million dollar vacation trips for an aging telecoms executive. . .how?
Music/Radio › What Song(s) do You Never Get Tired Of Listening To? by Amya(op): 12:52pm On May 15, 2010
I'm a music person, and i always appreciate good music, be it raggae, country, ROCK, rap, pop, r'n'b. . .e.t.c

But my all time favorite song which  i can never get tired of listening to is

1. Scream- by chris cornel
2.sing for the moment- eminem.
These songs are always put on a constant repeat by me, and i can listen to them for a whole day. And after all these years, i still feel sudden rush of exitement each time i hear these songs.

Which song(s) can you never get tired of listening to?
Music/Radio › Re: D'banj - Fall In Love Ft. Genevieve | Official Video by Amya(f): 2:49pm On May 07, 2010
I doubt that genny and dbanj are into a real r/ship besides business. This is all just a publicity stunt to keep them in the news and promote fall in love vid for which genny was paid heavily for.

Without genievive in the video, it wouldn't make this much of a buzz and people won't want to see it as the video was release two years after the audio. But including genevieve in the video and disclosing their supposed r/ship couple of weeks before the video's release has publicity smelling all over it.

The whole truth will soon be out in the open. Brace ya selves!

@SEVULE - CDs for 3500? You must be punking me. You should have a date with Alaba Int. market. Cds go for exactly 50 bucks over there and you get discounts if you grab as many as 10 cds. The amazing thing's that you get thesame flava there is on those that go for 3500.
rock albums in alaba market? I really doubt it. I don't usually see albums of my favorite rock band im music shops here in Nigeria, so i usually download mine from the internet.

Music/Radio › Re: For Lovers Of Rock Music Only! by Amya(op): 8:04pm On Apr 24, 2010
@oba234.

I get your point. But i still stick to what i said earlier.

If you'd read my earlier post, you'll see where i wrote that a rock fan club was put together by some guy in my school( in nigeria). word got around, and just in the first month, it had more than a thousand membership( the whole school is about 9000?) the whole thing was later scrapped by the school authority when they felt the objectives was not justifiable enough to be a school club. Just imagine if this is done in every school, working place e.t.c

my dear, there are lotsa rock fans in nigeria, but they are not as visible as other music genre lovers. They are content with listening to these songs on their ipod's, systems e.t.c which they download from the internet.

While i agree with you that rock songs is not and prolly never will be the most popular music genre in the country, it does have it's teeming but hidden fans.

I still encourage you to do a research, take a poll or something, and you just might be surprised at the result you get.
Music/Radio › Re: For Lovers Of Rock Music Only! by Amya(op): 12:45pm On Apr 24, 2010
@Oba234. You'll be surprised at how much rock fans are here in Nigeria.

Just amongst my acquaintance, a good number of them are die hard rock fans. You don't have to assume anything. Do your research.

Celebrities › Re: Jackie Appiah: Best Actress In Africa by Amya(f): 11:05am On Apr 20, 2010
I hate Jackie Appiah! Never liked her, never will. She escaped dwarfism and have funny little stumps of a forearm. Her bulgy eyes are sources of numerous nightmares for me. She has great set of teeths and a bewitching smile, but that's just about it. Acting wise, she's not that bad, that's if i can take my eyes off those stumps and really see what she's doing. Best actress in africa? No, best actress in ghana? No!

P.s, If any one of you know her please advice her to take it easy on the make up, it adds a whole decade to her face!

Rock can't really penetrate Naija. Most folks think its jargon and certainly think you're weird when you've got a huge rock playlist. Don't see rock concerts selling out and naija rock bands with meaningful commercial success generally. Too bad.

you'll be surprised at how much rock fans are presently in nigeria. I know lot's of people who like rock but don't it's rock. People usually have thd misconception that rock music must be hard rock or heavy metal. Lot's of people like linkin park, avril lavaign, greenday, chris cornell, and other mainstream rock artiste. Amongst my acquaintances alone, a high percentage are rock fans.

Rock has come to stay in nigeria,

guys like djinee, rooftop mc's, ecetera sing rock, but they don't operate rock bands. Nigeria rock singers have not yet evolved into the hard rock metal stuff. They are still comfortable with the mainstream soft rock.

My spirit melts whenever i listens to cool ROCK 'n' ROLL like those featured in ONE THREE HILL. Can somebody tel me where to get those songs?
rock 'n' roll is completely different genre of music. It's danceable, rock is not. You can only stump and shake your head to hard rock. Most of the songs used on one tree hill are rock songs.

Never knew we were this many in Nigeria. Cool!!! smiley
yes o! We're quite much. It's just that we hide ourselves in shells unlike other music genres. Just in my school alone there are growing number of us rock fans that we decided to form a rock fan club.

Other music genre lovers are quite outspoken. Let's do so too. Let's come together and make our voice heard!

There was actually a time i thought that nl was strictly for hiphoppers. But it's MUSIC SECTION written up there. We may think we are small in numbers, but you'l be surprised at how many of us are here in nl alone, talk more of the whole naija.

We could organise rock concerts and give it the maximum publicity and i know rock fans would trod out in numbers. They are real fanatics when it comes to music. They don't dissappoint.
We could also form a band amongst ourselves,
