Uche when they dated Uche denies
being financially
dependent on Ikechukwu Uche while
they dated
Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, who
recently
celebrated her fourth wedding
anniversary with her
Puerto Rican husband, Kenney
Rodriguez, has refuted
claims she was financially dependent
on ex-boyfriend Ikechukwu Uche.
Speaking with Kehinde Bankole of
Broadway Africa
recently, the ‘Wives on Strike’ actress
said. ‘It’s always insulting to me, that line
of thought,
because even while I was in that
relationship, I had
members of his family think some of my
cars were
his…. and he has never given me money,
which he
knows. Never!’, she emphatically stated.
school, not just me, even my younger
ones. So, I have
always been my own person, I have
never needed a
man to define me and I have always
known that
whoever I ended up with is the lucky
one. ‘When I walked out of that
relationship and said I
was done, I wasn’t interested in what
anybody was
saying. I was done. At a point I said to
myself, I would
rather invest this time in me and in my
company.‘ Uche recently celebrated her
fourth wedding
anniversary with her husband, Kenney
She however had affectionate words to
say about her
husband of four years. ‘When I met
Kenny and I saw the relationship he
had with his mum, I totally knew he was
husband
material. The way you treat your mum
tells a girl how
you can treat her,’ she recalled. ‘If you
don’t have respect for your mum, you’re
never ever going to have respect for
your wife.’ The popular actress and
Kenney are blessed with a

1. He tends to choose a place where you are always in front of his sight If he has many options but always chooses to sit or be at a spot where he can easily and silently watch you, then, ‘ahem ahem’, there is a possibility that he likes you! Does that happen in your case? Well if it does, the shy guy is into you signs are at their beginning! 2. There is frequent eye contact You always notice him watch you, and then, when you look back at him, he pretends to look behind you or starts looking elsewhere, like the floor for example! That seems to be their favorite spot for escape. This is the topmost among the signs a shy guy likes you! When he is caught looking at you, he pretends to look behind you or past you, then notice carefully, he is still looking at you! You can make out from his eyes that he wasn’t just looking at you, he was watching you. Tosyne2much is guilty of this, always making eye contact with the girl down his street. 3. His body language is different towards you Notice the body language. He is all cool and open with others, but, when it comes to you, he turns out to be very quiet, shy, hesitant and reluctant to be friendly with you. Now, you will tend to misunderstand this as if the guy is trying to ignore you and that the guy doesn’t like you. But he is madly head over heels for you! That’s why he can’t get the courage to speak to you or even look at you. 4. Ends up asking dumb questions It’s not that he is going to purposely try to start a conversation with you, but if (unfortunately or fortunately for him) a situation occurs wherein he needs to say something, he just ends up asking a dumb open ended question!! and when you give a reply (figuring out in your mind what was he meaning to ask you), he just stays quiet and takes an excuse from you after a period of silence. Bottom line is, if he is not able to start a conversation with you, but has no intentions to end it too, he definitely likes you. Don’t forget to notice the smile on his face and the glitter in his eyes. The guy will be blushing all the time he is around you. 5. Bumps into you all the time You end up seeing him almost everywhere you go! You can’t miss out on this sign because it cannot be a coincidence. I mean do you expect him to be at all the places that you visit, at the same time as yours and then believe it to be coincidence? Wake up! This is a sure sign that he likes you and that’s why he's following your schedule so that you notice him and that he doesn’t get to miss a chance to observe you closely! (So sweet) 6. Becomes loud so that you notice him As I mentioned earlier, he will make sure that you are within his line of vision wherever he sits or settles, be it school, workplace or social gatherings. He is too scared to tell it to you on your face, but within, he wants your attention desperately! So, while he is talking to his friends, colleagues, he will try to be a little louder than required so that your attention goes to him, even if for a minute, at least you noticed him, didn’t you? 7. You are his all time favorite topic If he can’t stop talking about you to his close friends and can go on and on and on with it, he is definitely got the hots for you! If you guys happen to have some common friends, check with them. It might surprise you that the shy guy is attracted to you signs are genuine and that you are the only one in his mind and he is desperate to enter your heart! 8. He does small and sweet gestures One of the signs a shy guy likes you is the small favors and gestures that he will do for you even when they are not required. For Example, he will help you pick up things that you might have dropped. Or may be compliment you each and every time, even when not required. 9. He gets uncomfortable when other guys talk to you If you are still confused as to how to tell if a shy guy likes you, this can be the sign to look for, and he is totally, surely, madly into you, and that’s why he can’t even bear the sight of you being with someone else! There is this feeling of insecurity in his mind that someone else might just sweep you away from him, and so he gets all uncomfortable and weird. 10. Avoid you in the group: The next sign to check for is this If you and your ‘shy guy’ happens to be in one group, and he ends up talking to everyone but YOU, don’t think that he hates you. It’s an obvious sign that he has feelings for you and that he gets paranoid and shaky from the thought of even talking to you. I know it’s weird, but I don’t know what makes the shy guys think that girls are unapproachable. Feel free to add yours.... |

According to him, the military has regained all territories hitherto occupied by the sect. These were contained in a document tagged “Fact sheet on President Muhammadu Buhari’s first year in office” and made available to journalists by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity. President Buhari has said that 11,595 persons held captive by Boko Haram sect since his emergence as president, have regained their freedom. The document highlighted the achievements of the administration under categories such as security, anti- corruption war, economy, power, environment and judiciary among others. The statement read in part, “The relocation of the Nigerian Military Command Centre to Maiduguri, since May 2015, contributed to the success in the fight against insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country. “As of February 2016, the total number of persons rescued by the Nigerian troops during the ongoing operations in the North-East came to 11,595. “Since December 2015, the well- motivated and rejuvenated Nigerian military have regained all Nigerian territories previously under Boko Haram control.” On anti-corruption war, the statement said although the campaign was gaining ground with several high profile cases already in the courts. The statement read “In March 2016, the Federal government and the Swiss government signed a Letter of Intent on the Restitution of Illegally-Acquired Assets forfeited in Switzerland. “Under the agreement, Switzerland will repatriate $321m illicitly acquired by the Gen. Sani Abacha family. “In March 2016, the Presidential Committee set up to probe contracts awarded by the Office of the National Security Adviser from 2011 to 2015 announced the recovery of over N7bn from indicted companies and individuals.” On economy, the government said the implementation of the Treasury Single Account has provided greater visibility of government revenues and cash flows. A female student in the Department of Library Science, Faculty of Education, Bayero University Kano (BUK), has ended her life by taking an insecticide. She left a suicide note saying that she has failed to meet a dateline for the registration of an elective course. In the note she said, “I will not apply for course suspension my academics is all I live for, if I can’t get it right, f**k existing.” The student, Sarah Imoleaya Ighidabo, from Edo State, failed an elective course unit in the faculty of sciences after missing examinations and was made to repeat the course. Ms Ighidalo had passed all her major courses in Library Science. But by missing registration of her elective course, meant that she was not enrolled for the course during the semester and had to retake the course next year. However, on Thursday May 12, 2016, the deceased went to the faculty’s office to see if anything could be done about her case, but she found out that it was too late to make any amends. Consequently, she became restless, left the office and descended the stairs to where she had kept her bag. There, she was said to have written a suicide note and brought out a container of Sniper insecticide used mostly in driving away soil borne pests and drank it. She left her mobile phone, charger, suicide note, her bag and the container under the staircase and returned to the office. A source in the Computer Science Department told Daily Trust that soon after the student was told that her registration for the course was incomplete due to a late registration, she left the office without talking to anybody. The source added that it seemed the student had already planned the suicide even before she encountered some challenges in the process of her registration. “She drank the insecticide under the staircase and left the container, her handbag, phone charger and other belongings in a hidden corner,” the source said. “When she returned to the office, she began to complain of a chest pain and, in no time, she lost her consciousness. She was then rushed to the university clinic. “But the problem was beyond the university clinic and she was taken to AKTH (Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital) and that was where she died,” said the source. Immediately after the incidence occurred, the news went round the campuses and sent the faculty into a state of shock. Daily Trust gathered that by the time that the news of her death filtered out, the empty container of the Sniper, her handbag, registration forms, bank payment receipts and phone charger were discovered by some students under the staircase. The registration forms contained her name, registration number (Edu/12/LIS/00195), mode of entry, which is Direct Entry (DE), date of birth (01/01/1970), local government of origin (Etsako East local government) and her state of origin, Edo State. The forms also contained her home address (Yelwa Television, Kaduna), her marital status, (single) and her next of kin. Philomena Umoru was stated as her mother’s name. She resides in the same area in Kaduna. The student’s payment form of N29, 000 in the First Bank of Nigeria, Kuje branch, also contained her phone number and email address. On the top of the form and at its bottom, a hand writing indicating: “Library & Information Science LIS4205,” was seen. At the back of one of the two forms, the student wrote a message that read: “I will not apply for course suspension. My academic is all I live for. If I can’t get it right, Bleep existing.” Daily Trust learnt that a similar message was found in her room outside the campus. Sources told Daily Trust that, already, the university management had received an interim report about the incidence from the concerned head of department. The university’s authority, it was gathered, is still investigating the incidence. Efforts to reach the Director Public Affairs Ahmed Shehu were not successful. He sent a text message saying he was in a meeting. When contacted by phone, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, Deputy Superintendent Musa Majia said the University authorities have reported the case to police on Monday and that the Commissioner, Alhaji Maigari Abbati had ordered the transfer of the case to the Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiry. – The media was recently awash with stories of discord in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari. – Those fingered in the report were minister of transport; Rotimi Amaechi and minister of state for aviation; Hadi Sirika. – Sirika has now opened up on the rumours that has circulated wide in the media. Nigeria’s minister of state for aviation, Captain Hadi Sirika has opened up on the media reports that he had a row with the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi. Minister of state for aviation, Captain Hadi Sirika Sirika who spoke on the issue for the first time while receiving the national president of the Air Transport Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSAN), Mr Benjamin Okeowo on a courtesy call, said the rumour was the handiwork of mischief makers. He said: “The social media said that I and the minister are fighting but that is not true. The fact that there are no pictures of me at airports, offices and agencies under aviation is based on my personal choice. “I believe that my photo will not give Nigerians anything, rather, it is my actions that will. I don’t need my pictures on walls. They were there before but I ordered that they be removed. Photo will not give us good airports and runways, rather good governance and that is my challenge and target. “Having pictures everywhere as far as I am concerned is very trivial, unnecessary and it is not my style. My pictures should be put on walls when I have worked. Having my pictures on walls is not the major reason why I was appointed to serve. My dream is to change the industry for better and when that is done, then my pictures can be put everywhere.” The minister however used the opportunity to express his thoughts that the ministry of transportation should be merged with the ministry of works. “For me, I think the merger ought to even go a step further than what it is today. The merger is between aviation and transportation but for me, I think the ministry of transportation should still carry Federal Ministry of Works and certain critical aspects. “Why works, because if you remove environment, lands and housing from works, what will remain is highways and highways like waterways and airways are all ways and they are under transportation,” Sirika said. On his part, the ATSSAN chairman lamented that the merger of aviation and transportation ministry has led to less efficiency in the aviation sector. He said: “Government has come out with their policy on merger of aviation and transport but we must say that as stakeholders, the merger is not favouring us because there is so many delay we are seeing as a result of this merger. Things are not taking proper shape and things are not done with speed as it is expected of the aviation industry. “Honestly, we thought policies are to ensure efficiency but we are not getting that efficiency. It is like the policy is expanding the bureaucracy and that for us is not good for the aviation industry.” Meanwhile, a recent report in the media stated that Amaechi is currently having a running battle over a loan he took from a new generation bank, even as he has threatened to sue the bank. The report further stated that Amaechi took the loan to finance his purchase of a priced property on Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos. Nigerian parents expect their daughters to get married someday. However, one thing they are particular about is the kind of man their daughter(s) bring home as a future husband. With more than 250 ethnic groups with Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa leading the pack, the expectations may be different but they are interwoven and almost similar. These presumptions are largely influenced by culture, religion, heritage, and exposure of the families involved. This said, a would-be or prospective son-in- law should take note of the following tips shared if he wants to be accepted by a prospective bride’s parents as in Nigeria, and the African continent at large, a parent’s blessing and endorsement of a marriage is important. He must be able to care for himself No parent will allow their daughter to ‘marry’ a man who cannot take care of himself. Everything about their relationship is hinged on love rather than the man’s ability to take of the family he will raise. In fact, only a handful of women today will take that kind of man to her parents. Nigerian parents do not demand much. He should have a reliable means of livelihood or survival enough to take care of the bride. Respectful Yorubas value respect. This is an aspect of the culture they do not toy with. Even if the parents accept you, the family members will never. They will always point it out especially if it is obvious. However, you do not need to worry much if you not marrying a Yoruba girl. However, this does not allow a would-be son-in-law to treat the parents with disdain. Dress Responsibly Laced ears, plaited hair, sagged trousers and blinks will simply get you fired as a son-in-law. You should dress the way you want to be addressed. In summary, dress responsibly. If that’s your style, try as much as possible to shelve it whenever you are visiting your bride’s parents. By the way, don’t let her parents catch you dressing like a gangster, they will not hesitate to tongue lash you. Religiously Consciously Some parents may not be too keen on this. Despite this, whether you are a Muslim or a Christian, you should be religiously upright. Nigerians are one of the most religious black nation in the world. They expect their daughter to marry into a pious home. No Wife Battery Wife battery is now prevalent in the Nigerian society. In time past, this wasn’t the case. Today, there have been several reports of domestic violence with women bearing the brunt. So, parents always try to enquire from their daughters to assure them that their prospective son-in-law is not prone to wife battery. Enough said.... |
Gala and Lacasera This has been another form of saving students. During my ND days you need to see how Bottles of Lacasera and leathers of gala litter our lecture class. |
Bread Nigerian student resort to bread both in good and bad times. It is like the holy grail of university life, sometimes they spice it up with butter, tea, groundnut or soft drink. If toh sey bread dey grow for person head I for don get forest of bread for my head. It is well.
