fairheart: Actually, when you refuse to think and assess possible positive reasons for which my original post was intended for, you did not only stoop, but also go below my level, even if you are 30 something. Anwering question is not a war, as you call it... if you call yourself a student. There is nothing to be afraid of that hadn't been felt prior interview that led to successful visa outcome at the embassy. If they could go to the embassy and conquer, they would be able to answer perfectly well at the port of entry, that is, should they be questioned!
You are the worrisome, fearful one who only see what is wrong where someone is showing what is right. Do not comment on my post again. It is totally unnecessary. Check my profile very well. Don't dare quote it! Quit sniffing that shiit. |

fairheart: NOTICE TO STUDENT VISA HOLDERS: As at last night, @ Georgia Atlanta, a student visa holder (a Nigerian and cousin to my friend's friend) was turned back home after his visa was cancelled. The reason is that he did not leave Nigeria at the date stated on his I-20 that he should resume. He had waited more more months; that is, he should have left few months back. So when he got to the port of entry, he was sent back.
I am not saying this to put fear in anybody here, but pay attention and make sure you get your ticket in time. You have your visa already, and so you have no business waiting in Nigeria --EXCEPT your school resumption date is still more than 30 days. Please be warned! I wish all of you safe journey.
I advice all of you to leave latest 5 days before your school resumption, and make sure it is less than a month before your resumption. If you come in when it is still more than a month before your resumption date, forget it, you will be sent back live and you will need to buy another ticket. Be warned! And more importantly, AVOID LAX--Los Angelis International Airport, except you are going to that area. People are having issue with immigration at this port of entry! This information is coming directly from Texas, US. Emmanuel. If I was his brother and the Official Inspecting him. I will not only revoke his visa, he would surely get a 10 year ban as well for not being able to use his brain. Forget all those crap. They said worse when I was coming through Chicago. Mind you my final destination was somewhere else. I wasn't even asked any question aside my documents. My bags were not even checked despite the fact that I had loads of foods inside. |

Funds? and you applied for a bachelors degree? I don't understand. You getting us confused. Why not apply for a PhD then? Or another Masters is fine. |

so whats the best answer i can give when asked? I don't see the reason why you're not applying for a masters program. Going for another undergraduate doesn't make any sense. |

piroux: Hi, i'v been in a state for the past couple of months and i am wondering if others have ever been through it.
I was a 20 year old in my final year and there was this wonderful guy who was crazy about me. He was nice, sweet, caring, selfless and Godly but.... at the time, i thought i was too young and wasnt ready for a serious relationship and he was. He was a few years older, also in his final year and was very serious about me. I didnt want to be married too young to my first boyfriend so i lied to him about having another boyfriend which i didnt have. He was hurt but he let things be, i later confessed to him when we graduated but he didnt trust me anymore and i let things be. Years have passed and i have met cuter, richer, more intelligent guys but no one has cared about me as selflessly as he did. Now, i find myself thinking what if? Who knows, i might not be happier or as fulfilled but a part of me wishes i had given him a chance, you know? So share your own stories.... A word of advice to those #pepricas and #pepperdemgangs. It would dawn on you very soon |

imperiouxx: By saying "a PhD program can award you a MS after your pedagogy year....." I means it's possible for a non combined PhD program to award MS after pedagogy year. For example my wife is in a non combined PhD program, she was given a second MS in Dec 2015 and will finish the doctoral program next year. However, I hope everything is fine with the op. Got you. Absolutely. |

imperiouxx: Either a program uses MS/PhD system or not, a PhD program can award you a MS after your pedagogy year, even if you're going to continue with them. My reply based on what I was told by someone who was asked to leave due to performance. This is why I said "if". not all PhD program does award MS after pedagogy year. If its based on performance, then its bad, but if on the grounds of better offer or research interest, then there is nothing absolutely wrong with changing. |

imperiouxx: If he left for a good reason, then he stands a better chance. But he has to prove to the new program he won't treat them like he treated the last after been invested on. Crossing may not be hard if the course he's applying for is one of those that receive low application. It is clear his program is MS/PhD. You can opt to leave if you want with your masters. There is nothing like treatment. |

imperiouxx: The two bold up don't go together. Why you 'dropped out' from the previous PhD program will call for questioning by the 'top ranked' PhD program. If you dropped out because of bad performance, that's a good reason for the adcom to reject your application when selecting prospective PhD students. Your dropping out is a bad business for the first program, the second program would have learned. My suggestion is for you to apply to programs with different varieties of strength. PhD selection is very competitive, you know this already. People drop out from PhD program for better offers and some schools usually give the option of leaving if you no longer want to continue with the PhD program after 2years. I am not talking about bad performance. I mean voluntarily with good reasons. I can share a friend who did same and he is university of Kentucky, Louisville. |

cuspy: Hello guys!
Is there any disadvantage of dropping out of a PhD programme after obtaining a masters degree after the first two years and then procceding to get into another top-ranked PhD programme? Nope. At all, you're free to change. |

sirRiddy: Nigerians and bad records sha. One thing I experienced while applying there was that Nigeria was banned from paying the application fee from Nigeria. bigFrancis21 had to help me pay the fee and I still got a big fat reject. But I have seen a few Nigerians being accepted into the school. The school is in Alabama, so I am sure na Trump people go full there anyway. They admitted some Nigerians just to meet up with diversity quota. They rather have international black students than black Americans. Alabama is racist state. They've had bad experience with Nigerians. UNiversity of Alabama at Birmingham and Alabama A&M(99% black) accepts a lot of international student. |

chuksGilb: Thank you so much for your contributions. Thanks to you too, LagosismyHome and Analytics. I think I would opt for the May interview date. It gives me more time to prepare especially with regards to getting really good air fares.
My profile: GRE: 317 GPA:4.86/5 Schools: Auburn University(Waitlisted), University of Toledo(Accepted) and Syracuse(Accepted).
I have gone through some of the transcripts posted on previous parts. I am concerned however, with my chances of getting my visa approved since most of the ties I have with Nigeria is in the form of my relationships (family and friends). those are pretty good schools. I have a Ghanaian friend in Toledo but he would be moving to University of Michigan on a full ride in the fall. |

sirRiddy: Lol congratulations. But that Auburn is one useless school. With your scores, they still waitlisted you. O ga. Good luck in your interview That school actually do not like blacks, plus Nigerians have had a bad record there too. My advisor got her Bachelors and Masters there, but she is white. |

When it better to get visa on time so chuksGilb can plan very well and get the best deals in air fare since it way in advance . If that's what you can deduce, then fine. I have passed my message |

It's either he takes or leaves it. As you can read, he is aware of the 120days and can likely go in May if he so pleases. I hope this kills your curiosity. |
