Tedpgrass: Be empathetic...
When suspects are released by weak, poorly motivated, poorly armed police force which is hinged on nepotism alongst tribal lines, following a long arduous citizens arrest once a phone call is received. Where is the opportunity for prosecution .. The law has not been allowed to follow its due course.. Imagine the sense of shock, despair, utter desolation resulting from this.
Bala M should have kept quiet as his other minions.. But making this statement is an attempt to condone, lend support from the office of a governor and further inflame issues..
I wonder if after a personal taste of similar attacks, he'd still be on this rhetoric like the Muric chap.
To the issues at hand,, pressing on the ICJ, the concern of a regime aiding and abetting an ethnic cleansing or genocide should be raised and pushed forward for hearing asap. Alongside other measures of containment. . . I don’t know who is brainwashing you to believe that a whole state government cannot prosecute a suspect, but can drive away a whole tribe. If Bala Mohammed is equated to Boko Haram then Yinka Odumakin is akin to Hitler. |

Politics › Re: Bala Mohammed: South-West Doesn’t Want To Accommodate Other Tribes by AnanseK(m): 3:19pm On Feb 12, 2021 |
myobjective: I avoided the issue of law and orders because the herdsmen that move around sacking villages upon villages in Katsina and Zamfara don't give a Bleep or those kidnapping, destroying farms in the southwest. If you really want to talk about law then the Federal government needs to make example of Fulani criminal first, we'll follow suit.
Yorubas are one of the most accommodated groups in Nigeria. There are Sabos in all Yorubaland. The Hausas, Fulanis, Nupes and Eghir have been living and doing business unhindered in Yorubaland for centuries but if you want to play politics with the issue of Fulani herders criminals then be my guest. The correct thing has been done by the southwestern gov't. They have been banned from the forest and open grazing has been outlawed. If you are not okay with that directives then expect you to do your worse.
Talking about the largest indigenous group without putting a name to your ethnic group sound like a giant inferiority complex popping out. The Hausa city-states were not in any way better in art, state-building, industries, ironwork, architectures etc than Yoruba states before the coming of the white. Infact, before the Jihad of Usman dan Fodiyo (of yesterday 1804), no Hausa state was bigger ore more sophisticated than the Oyos, Ijebus, Ifes, Egbas etc. Even the Nupes had a much better and more organized state than most tiny Hausa city state. Your ancestors still preferred Hausaland. There must be a reason. About naming of ethnicity I have no problem with that. But NL is an anonymous forum and there is a limit to what you can let out about yourself. I gave you enough clue and if you and your ancestors were truly refugees in Hausaland for over a century as you claimed, you will know what I mean. Hausa states were not inferior to any heritage in Nigeria, your grandfather knows that. As my people would say “Dadin mashekari ke sa dan akuya tozo “. I don’t mind talking to you one on one but I can’t give too much in such a forum. |

Politics › Re: Bala Mohammed: South-West Doesn’t Want To Accommodate Other Tribes by AnanseK(m): 11:31am On Feb 12, 2021 |
myobjective: Tell us your ethnicity and dont hide under the vague nomenclature of north and south. I'm Yoruba whose grandparent migrated to the north, despite having an indigene certificate of a northern state, I still allow the indigenous people of the area to get their ways. I live base on the belief and norms of the people, I try not to force my belief system on the people that accommodated my parents and still accommodate me. When the Fulanis or any northerners move to the west, I expect them to respect this, they have to work within the framework set out by the people they met in these places.
If I can't impose my superior Omoluabi way of life on northerners, why should we tolerate them imposing their supposed archaic way of life on us when they move south. You know this and we all have peace. You carefully avoided the issues I raised about law and order. I can see that like many of your type in Kaduna, Kano, Zaria, Gusau and many other northern cities and villages, you have enjoyed the hospitality “fulako” and “kaara” of the North and of course your biase will never allow you to see the savagery of the southern cultures before the coming of Europeans. Regarding my ethnicity which is your headache, I belong to the largest and most indigenous group that have formed empires and built mansions and palaces and places of worship , tamed and bred animals , made clothes for use and for export and mined iron and other metals to make into utensils and weapons long before the forest people etc etc and we accommodated Yorubas like you and others getting to two centuries now. The Europeans came and met you at hunter and food gatherer stage of evolution with no organized administration or system of government. Of course you had shrines and superstition and subdued your kinsmen by invoking fear. |
Politics › Re: Bala Mohammed: South-West Doesn’t Want To Accommodate Other Tribes by AnanseK(m): 9:28am On Feb 12, 2021 |
myobjective: Core northerners are one of the most corrupt Nigerians, they don't have the moral high ground to criticise anyone of cybercrimes. The only reason you see that forte dominated by southerners is because you still need some know-how to commit fraud and the multitude of the northern populations are too stupid to engage in anything that requires an atom of intelligence.
Check petty crimes, misappropriation of government revenue, kidnapping, armed robbery etc. They dominate all these. That being said, Yahoo boys are one of the laziest groups of young Nigerians around, given us hard-working Nigeria bad names and closing opportunities for genuine hardworking Nigerians.
In the issue of herdsmen and Fulani criminality in southwestern Nigeria, it's embarrassing for anyone with a brain to criticize the measured taking to solve this problem. On a personal level, I will say, 2023 should be a time we stand our ground and demand for a restructures Nigeria. A Nigeria where the Yoruba can be more assertive on who they allow to migrate to their region. You are definitely one of the most tribally biased jingoistic person even on Nairaland. Yorubas have the greatest number of judges , the greatest number of lawyers and by far the greatest number of law academics and jurists in the country and yet you are justifying a collective punishment without identifying suspects and prosecuting them. As for restructuring, it would be better if you declare the Odudua republic . That will save all of us the haggling and bargaining Associated with that vague expression- restructuring. I can assure you that the North is only trying to be the gentleman it is , otherwise you will have your state indegenes on the road back just like the Fulanis you are passing judgement on extrajudicially. |

sameks08: Mr governor ur wrong some criminal elements re destroying their relationship with their host community that's why how can you go to some one land and destroy his or her farm and xpt that person to be happy with you is not done. my take pls The civilized thing to do is to identify suspects and prosecute them within the state where crime was committed, even death sentences can be passed and carried out at state level. But when you criminalize all members of a tribe and expel them from your states , you are definitely calling for the same treatment elsewhere. I hope the Northern Governors are listening. |

Gondonu: Just imagine this shitty statement.Have the Fulanis themselves been accommodating to anyone? He is not even condemning the atrocities of his fulani brothers across the nation. An ethnic group that is out on an open ethnic expansion & domination agenda with the support of the government of the day?
Well, being fulani, Gov.Bala Mohammed can only support his kiths & kin who have unleashed unimaginable pain & destruction on other ethnic groups across this failed nation.Imagine the man accusing the same SW that went blindly in its political sophistication to vote in this catastrophe that is plaguing about 200M Nigerians today.
Guess the SW can see now? This should serve as a startling warning to all the southern efulefus in this satanic government that no matter how you try, you can never please these slavemasters. What Governor Bala is saying the truth, other Northern Governors should come out and say the same thing. Southern tribes are tolerated in the North. But must this tolerance continue? |
