I am disagreeing with vaxx (sorry for the mention vaxx), but I have posted somewhere how much regard I have for him, and I wouldn't be wasting time discussing with him if his mouth were potty. I am disagreeing with OkCornel, and while I admit that I am reserving an insult for his avoidance of the elephant in his argument, his mouth is not potty. I disagree with butter pretty often, but I can not honestly claim his mouth is potty (least, not towards me), and here is immhotep disagreeing with me on homosexuality itself without pot in his mouth.

You however just can't seem to hold a discussion without resorting to baseless insults is what I find about you. But the uncouth way that you go about it is even more unbecoming and is the reason I give you a very wide berth. I refuse to insult myself by discussing with people who have not learnt how to behave in public! Associating with such people might make me stink like you do!

Cara Mia It is “tradition” that Moses wrote the Torah but this tradition is not rooted in historical fact. The Torah, in its traditional sense being the Pentateuch or the first Five books of the Tanakh is not the work of a single writer, textual variations and variations in writing styles, as well as repetition of similar stories (i.e the creation story) attest to that. Added to this also is the fact that individually the books were composed over a wide time-span, many contemporary Rabbis carry the same contention.

There are other problems too, quite apart from the fact that Moses supposedly documents his own death which Christians (and some Jews) rather clumsily attempt to explain away by saying that Joshua completed the work (Joshua makes no such statement) there is the very real issue that Jacob of course studied the Torah, we are told in the Book of Genesis that Jacob spent his adolescence studying the law whilst Esau spent his time learning to hunt (I cannot remember the exact verses) but more specifically the Book of Psalms 147:19 reads “He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel”, being the Torah. It is also clear that Noah had knowledge of the Torah, Yahweh asks Noah to take the “Ritually Pure” animals into his Ark, Noah could not make this distinction unless he knew the Torah.

It is clear that both characters preceded Moses and they knew the Law in its “written form” as distinct from the “Oral Law” which of course is composed of the Talmud, the Mishnah and the various Midrash. By the way, the Tanakh is meant to be read in conjunction with the Talmud as well as the other aforementioned writings for greater exegesis of the writings of the Tanakh but as we know, Christians will not read.

The Tanakh is very clear that these men received the written Law. How then is it possible to validate the claims that Moses wrote the Torah as an historical fact when Jacob and possibly Noah evidently studied the Torah in written form centuries before the advent of Moses whom you claim wrote it?

in Christianity, giving is by free will.


God loves a cheerful giver not a compelled giver.

give because you love God not because you are forced.

heaven is not tied to tithing.

tieing heaven to tithing means you can buy heaven.
it's almost akin to the sin of simony, where Simon thought he could get the holyspirit with money. now they say you can get heaven with money.

if the only reason you give is because you were forced or you don't want to miss heaven, you are better off not giving.

if you want give 10% if you want give 100%, don't make it a compulsory doctrine others must follow. let everyone give according to his heart, and if your heart doesn't push you to give, that's your concern.

The mistake most people make when trying to decipher Bible prophecy is that they do so from the point of view of the reader rather than the speaker.. The disciples of Jesus asked him a question and he was answering them. Not us that is reading it 2000+ years later.. If the disciples did not witness those things it means Jesus lied, there are no 2 ways about it.

When the time frame giving by the Jewish prophet of the coming of the messiah did not happen, they carried on with their life and saw it as a wishful thinking..
The messiah was coming to usher in an Era of utopian peace, no more oppression and men will learn of war no more.. But what do we have? No peace and we keep inventing new weapons of mass destruction... So please drop the idea of Word ending... It won't, but let us try and promote peace and love amongst ourselves and teach America how to do it....
