wytecat:What if you are? You forgot to mention that!!! See the way you keep exposing yourself. I pity your empty head Do good for good to come your way |
My candid advise is this: Nothing good come easy. Do you expect to come out of Law school and start earning millions? Hell no!!! It is step by step. As someone earlier advised, Check your CV again, keep applying for jobs anywhere they are available, if you have the opportunity, do professional exams/certifications. Starting with a small law firm is not bad. You gain experience with this while looking for better opportunity. Also note that a lawyer can also be re-qualify as HR executives, Technical Advisors hence look out for ways to diversify. Wish you good luck Do good for good to come your way. |

According to Vladmir Lenin: A lie told often enough becomes the truth. Corruption has eaten too much into our marrows that it is now considered the right thing. The battle for defence of the Naira value has widened, affecting existing withdrawal limits on Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and foreign transactions on all existing Naira debit cards (ATM cards). atm2In the new arrangement, all ATMs that were hitherto enabled for domestic and foreign transactions have been restructured to limit Naira cash withdrawal at ATMs to N60,000 per day while foreign currency is $300 per day. Hitherto, the domestic withdrawal limit was N150,000 per day. The new arrangement has separated traditional ATM from MasterCard credit card where the former has now been deactivated and can no longer be used for transactions abroad. Hitherto, a single ATM card serves for transactions for both domestic and abroad. Also, the restructured cards now have spending limits on POS/eCommerce (online shopping) pegged at $300 (about N60,000) per day. Before this, the limit was N2 million per day. In the new arrangement, a bank customer with multiple debit cards (ATM cards), only the one linked to the primary transactional account will be enabled for use abroad. Hitherto, such customers could transact with any of the cards that is funded. However, banks are putting in place alternatives in these adjustments to address the concern of customers who are now being directed by their banks to reapply for a new card arrangement to suit their purposes. For instance, Standard Chartered Bank has asked its customers to request a complementary ATM card for domestic use only so that the original N150,000 daily cash withdrawal limit can be restored and also reactivate POS/online purchase limit of N2 million per day. The bank also required their customers to apply for a foreign currency denominated ATM linked to domiciliary account which would be enabled with no daily or annual international transaction limits. Earlier, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc had informed its customers of its decision to reduce the daily international spending limit on their Naira MasterCard to $300 with effect from yesterday. In a communication to the customers, the bank explained: “In view of the increased difficulty in sourcing foreign currency to settle international transactions on Naira MasterCards, we have reduced the daily international spending limit on your Naira MasterCard to $300.This means that you can only spend up to $300 daily when using your GTBank Naira MasterCard for international payments via POS and online. “You will, however, continue to have the option of paying for medical bills, school fees, mortgages and credit cards using Form A, as these are eligible transactions for foreign currency. Simply visit any GTBank branch to complete a Form A along with the required documents to make these payments.” These developments were coming on the heels of Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) statement on Sunday that all legitimate requests for foreign currency for eligible transactions, normally referred to as “invisibles,” such as remittances for school fees, student maintenance allowances, BTA, PTA, medical and other eligible transactions, shall be fully met at the official/interbank exchange rate. A statement from the CBN added that already all the legitimate demands for such transactions through recognised channels have so far been fully met by CBN. The statement stated: “The CBN hereby directs all authorised dealers in foreign exchange in Nigeria to henceforth treat as top priority all legitimate demand for foreign exchange for eligible transactions. “The CBN once again advises individuals that wish to source foreign currency for such eligible transactions to approach their banks with their legitimate demand as the CBN has made adequate provisions of foreign currency for all such legitimate and eligible purposes. “Furthermore, holders of Naira denominated debit and credit cards shall continue to have access to the use of their cards at ATMs in any part of the world but subject to the annual limit of $50,000. ATM withdraws shall continue to be a maximum of $300 per day.” Source - vanguardngr.com |
The West African Examinations Council has withheld the May/June 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination results of hundreds of candidates from 13 states in the country. This comes as the council stated that only 616, 370 candidates obtained credit in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. The candidates represented 38.68 per cent of the candidates who sat for the examination. One million, five hundred and ninety-three thousand and four hundred and forty-two candidates, comprising 864,096 males and 729,346 females, sat for the examination. The WAEC Head of National Office, Mr. Charles Eguridu, made this known on Monday while releasing the result of the May/June 2015 WASSCE in Lagos. He also announced that 118,101 candidates had their results withheld for alleged involvement in examination malpractice. He explained, “Of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, 758,849 candidates, representing 47.62 per cent obtained six credits and above; 949,862 candidates, representing 59.61 per cent obtained five credits and above, while 1,114,988 candidates, representing 69.97 per cent obtained credit and above in four subjects. “In addition, 1,295,915 candidates, representing 78.81 per cent obtained credit and above in three subjects, while 1,376,743 candidates, representing 86.40 per cent obtained credit and above in two subjects. However, 616,370 candidates, representing 38.68 per cent, obtained credit in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.” To gain admission to the nation’s university, a candidate is expected to obtain credit in five subjects, including English and Mathematics On the debtor states, the council alleged that they did not pay their candidates’ examination registration fees. He, however, did not name the 13 debtor states. The affected candidates, mainly government-sponsored candidates, Eguridu said, would only have their results if their states showed enough commitment to offsetting the debts. The HNO said, “After reviewing the situation, the council has decided that the results of government-sponsored candidates of indebted states would be released if such states endeavour to produce bank guarantees, so that the council will be assured that the fees will be paid. This decision is in appreciation of the general prevailing economic challenges in the country, and in order not to jeopardise the educational careers of the candidates of the indebted states.” Eguridu, who urged candidates to check their results on Tuesday, noted that public schools whose results were not on the council’s website should consider it to mean that their states were indebted to WAEC. The council had, two weeks ago, threatened to withhold the results, claiming that 19 states owed it about N4bn debts arising from the examination registration fees. Meanwhile, the Education Rights Campaign has condemned the West African Examination Council’s decision to withhold results of candidates from states that have defaulted on the body’s registration fees. The ERC National Coordinator, Mr. Taiwo Soweto, in a statement in Lagos on Monday, described the directive as ‘insensitive’ and called on the examination body to reverse its decision immediately. According to the group, withholding the results of candidates from affected states would be an ethical violation of the provisions of the Child Right Act 2003. The statement read, “As a public institution, WAEC is obligated by the Child Right Act (2003) to make the best interest of the child the paramount consideration in all actions. source - punchng.com cc ishilove lalasticalala |

riah:If your hubby looses his PR status, I don't think that will affect you. The reason is that my colleague relocated to Canada with his family in 2010. He did not stay because he was not ready to leave his job here but was visiting once in a while. This year his wife and children got their citizenship and passport. Although he has relocated finally last year. I think if citizenship depends on the the PA, they should not have given his wife and kids citizenship. My personal thought. Think of it what if the someone's partner died or divorce (God forbid bad thing)....that does not make them ineligible for citizenship. Good luck |
riah:Everything is possible if your husband and you wants. The 2 years must not be continuous. It may be 1 month, 2 months, 3 weeks, 6 months I am also a Mechanical Engineer with also an American company based in Nigeria so I understand concern. You will also need to evaluate your Masters and Bachelors degree certificates to get extra 10 points. Has your hubby written IELTS? Do you intend writing IELTS too - that gives extra 20 points use the link below to estimate your points http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp#a2 Good luck |

May God continue to guide us. Who to blame now? Government does not have hand in this now. Over speed kills Driving cars in poor state kills Obedience of traffic rules save life Do good for good to come your way. |
riah:Firstly the conditions that need to be met for you to renew you PR status after expiration is that PR holder must be in Canada for a total of 2 years within the 5 years. That is the only constrain given your hubby is ready to the needful for you all to get PR. Since your hubby is PA, then at least, he need to send in his Post secondary certificates for ECA. If you want to get extra point to complement his, then you need to do same for yourself. I think WES is the organization with the best cycle time (Please correct me if I am wrong) CC Solomonwis and other ogas in the house |

The New Port Harcourt Refining Company, PHRC 2, is now ready for the production of more premium motor spirit, PMS, popularly called petrol, and will reduce fuel import by 40 per cent when fully operational. When the FCCUs are re-streamed, the refinery will be working at 95 per cent of its 150,000 barrels per day capacity, it is expected that petrol importation will reduce. This was disclosed to journalists, weekend, by Chrome Oil Services, a member of the Chrome Group, one of the three contractors, handling the phased rehabilitation of the refinery. Recall that Vanguard Sweetcrude had exclusively reported last week that the four Nigerian refineries are weak in petrol production and high in fuel oils because the FCCUs were still undergoing rehabilitation. The Project Manager, Chrome Oil Services, Mr. Bombey Adigbara, said: “The job on the FCCUs is about 98 percent completed and by next weekend, we will hand over and the FCCUs will be re-streamed and the refinery will be working at about 95 percent of its throughput. “Three companies participated in this phased works and COS is the first, and we are still doing the work. At the moment, the refinery has started preliminary production, which means that it is Unit 1 that is producing. “The Unit 3 is being handled by Chrome, and by the end of next week, we will hand over the plant and the FCCs will be streamed. When this is done, we will start experiencing high level of PMS production in Nigeria. So, all the critical jobs are being done by us.” He disclosed that there are three major contractors handling the ongoing phased rehabilitation of PHRC, namely Chrome, DKJ/ITC, and DBM. According to him, “The FCC is 98 per cent completed. The FCC has a lot of critical components and it is also vendor specific, so you have to have a lot of experience to work in that place. We have achieved 98 per cent and when it comes up you will have a reduction in the importation of PMS.” Chrome capacity Adigbara also dismissed widespread speculations about the capacity of Chrome Oil Services to execute refinery TAM, saying before the 1999/2000 TAM for PHRC, Chrome had carried out a number of works for the Kaduna and Warri refineries as well as the Indorama Elema Petrochemical Company. Besides, he noted, Chrome had remained at PHRC since the 2000 TAM till date, offering intervention services, adding that in 2015 alone, Chrome had dome more than 50 jobs in the refinery to keep it running. Feedstock/swap agreements Also speaking, Executive Chairman, Chrome Group, Sir Emeka Offor, noted that the problem with the refineries is not just about TAM, which should be done every two years, but also with the lack of crude supply following government’s swap and offshore processing agreement, OPA. According to him, “the issue with the refinery is not only TAM but lack of feedstock to sustain their operations. The cost of TAM is very high and if you finish TAM and no feedstock then it is not economical.” He also added that pipelines vandalism came to compound the issues, saying: “Federal Government and NNPC must ensure adequate supervision of the pipelines to reduce vandalism to the barest levels.” Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/p-harcourt-refinery-to-reduce-fuel-import-by-40/#sthash.KPQOpQjH.dpuf |
