asha 80: i am sure it is due to that industrial market newly sited there.
The location also is important to the rapid growth.
Easy access from Umuahia, easy access from Owerri and Mbaise. Easy access from Okigwe and Aba through the express tower and easy access from Etiti and Mbano through the Okigwe-Etiti-Umuahia road.

In Imo state, Owerri, Orlu, Okigwe and Oguta are the chief towns. but there is a town rapidly developing in Imo state. It is at the border of Imo state and Umuahia. It is Onu Imo in Obowu LGA.

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A MAN TO CLAIM HE DEVELOPED ANOTHER MAN'S LAND AT THE EXPENSE OF HIS OWN LAND?

IBO PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS CLAIM THAT THEY DEVELOP LAGOS........WHILE THEIR OWN STATES, LAND IS NOT FRUITFUL ENOUGH FOR THEM TO SURVIVE IN....

I CAN NOW SEE THE REASON WHY FASHOLA DEPORTED THOSE FOOLS, IGNORAMUS, DEMENTED IBO PEOPLE
You should be more worried with the level of poverty in Hausa and Yorubaland. Hausas know how poor they are and don't make noises over it.
What's the point of having one rich Adenuga in Yorubaland that gives arms to 3 thousand poverty stricken Yorubas every week.
Thank God we are not poor to collect arms from Orji Uzor Kalus, Innosons, Emeka Ofos, Arthur Ezes, etc.

Politics / Re: Abuja Capital Of Arewa Republic by AndreUweh(m): 4:32pm On Jan 02, 2014
Abuja is simply a middle beltan city.
The people of middle belt do not see themselves as Arewas. Abuja was mostly created out of Niger state with Abaji from Kogi state and Nyanya from Nasarawa state.
Even Ndigbo and Yoruba populations and investments in Abuja is higher than the Arewas.
At the moment, Nigeria is not disintegrating and people should focus more on what promtes Abuja as a unity centre than who owns it.

I dont remember the Ajibade red card incident, but I remember the Ademola Adeshina red card vs Algeria in Maroc 88 before Bright "10-10" Omokaro helped us balance things cheesy

The senegal 92 semi finals was when Abedi was terrorising everyone on us. Mutiu scored a header for us before Abedi equalized from a flicked header on a corner. Aloy Agu was terrified whenever Abedi touched the ball. i think it was Prince Opoku Polley who scored the winner.

The 3rd place vs Cameroun Ekpo scored a free kick before Yekini rounded the on rushing Camerounian keeper Antoine Bell and slotted in from a tight angle

The qualified vs Ghana in lagos was it Ekpo who lost the penalty in the 0-0 game or was it Siasia?
Ekpo lost the penalty.
With scores at 2:1, Ajibade Babalade received a second booking and we went down to 10 men agaist their 11.
We later defeated Algeria on penalties after Rufai saved Belloumi's kick @ Maroc 88.

But my most memorable goal of Maroc 88 was Zaires's Kabongo Ngoy's goal against Morocco. Those were the days you have 24 hour electricity in Ibadan.

The semi finals vs South Africa was won by Tijani playing on the left wing
Bonfere Jo was the brain behind the ANC tournament the game vs Senegal: That was the match Oliseh had Malaria but he just entered when things were going bad for his team gave the long through pass aka "Suru" to Aghahowa
2yrs later in the ANC at Mali, Aghahowa vs 10men Senegal scored a last gasp equalizer before Senegal won the match in extra time while Oruma lost a crucial penalty for us
Uweh do you remember the match vs Senegal in 1992 ANC where Keshi scored the winner after conceding an equaliser to Jules Bocande?
Senegal 92 still in my mind. Abedi Pele ruined Keshi's birthday.
Ajibade Babalade sent off for yellow card x2.
Yekini scored a good goal against Cameroon in the third place match.
Ruben Agbola was the star revelation that year.
I remember one non skilled Emeka Ezeugo playing the deep midfield role for Westerhoff.
The most annoying aspect of it was that Ghana beat us in the qualifiers and also beat us the actual tournament.
In the qualifiers in Lagos against Ghana, Friday Ekpo lost a penalty kick but before then we had lost 1 nil in Accra. Aloy Agu lost his teeth in that match.

Happy new year all.

I did watch that mundial though cheesy

Dayo na Grade 1 werey sha, always getting mired in shiits and piss when it calls for facts.
Dayo is correct.
Jo introduced Aghahowa who in turn won the match for us at Kano.
Aghahowa later scored in the semis against South Africa in Lagos.
A year before then, Aghahowa featured for Nigeria at the Under 20 World Youth championship in Nigeria.

Lol you never see where onitcha dey claim 'ife aborigine'?

Anyway Eze chima(onitcha's first king) was from bini- So I read from a bini source. Tho it seems bini like to claim all first kings was from their land as they even claim Oduduwa
Eze Chima was Igbo and not Bini. The Igbo who left Bini to settle in Onitsha were Igbo people and spoke Igbo upon arrival as well as had Igbo names.
Put simply, They were Igbo who left to sojourn in Bini and later came back home. Just like the Hebrews were in Canaan, through Joseph they migrated to Egypt and was led back later by Moses/Joshuah.

Politics / Re: The Population Density Of Igbo Land by AndreUweh(m): 9:23pm On Dec 27, 2013
Igbo Delta: I laugh when people think that Igbo land begins and ends with south east. They forgot that there are numerous Igbo towns in delta and rivers state especially in delta north senetorial zone and Rivers North senetorial zone who are more IGBOTIC than the Igbos in Southeast. We should not forget that a large part of Igboland was forcefully ceded to Rivers state from today's Imo and Abia state because of crude oil deposit Dr Ngozi Okonji-Iweala is a princess of Ogwashiukwu in delta state, Ambassardor Uwuche, the immediate past president general of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo from Ogwashiukwu, Prof Pat Utomi of Lagos Business School who is also a senior member of Ikenga Ndi Igbo is from Igbuzo, Delta State. There are many Igbos of Delta state who are promoting the Igbo course. You should also note that many Biafran officers and Generals are of Igbo delta origin like Lt Nzeogwu, Col Achuzia, Brigedier General Okonjo, Major General Madeabor, Major General Nwawo, Navy Captain Anuku ( Leader of the Biafran Navy ), the list goes on. ANYBODY THAT THINKS THAT THE IGBOS OF DELTA AND RIVERS WOULD LEAVE OUR KITS AND KINS IN SE SHOULD HAVE HIS/HER HEAD EXAMINED. OUR ANTECEDENTS SPEAK FOR US
Happy new year in advance.

Pharoh:

I don't know why the highlighted facts above always eludes you guys and if there are actually people from Ika nation that claims to igbo then let them come to this thread to defend themselves. Why are people who are not from Ika land so concerned about Ika people, leave the Ikas who claim to be igbos to defend themselves while you mind your business.

That is how someone claim that it is only the ones who deny their igbo identity that you will find on facebook and other created groups. So i ask that if they are in minority then is it not a shame that that the majority who claim to be igbos cannot even create a facebook page and claim that aniomas are igbos. All the groups you see on facebook and all over the internet always claim pro anioma, pro Ika and Pro ndokwa so where is this fathom aniomas that claim to be igbos. Why don't you ask those that claim that they are from anioma and igbos to tell you which online groups they belong to that claim to be igbos.

Stop the obsession with anioma people and let them be, let them decide whatever they want to be and you guys should mind your business seriously. You don't see yoruba people getting obsessed about their brothers in delta, kwara or kogi but it is different from you guys and i just wonder why.
Your post above shows that you have not read through this this thread from the mmalite. Ikas who are proud Igbo have bben here long and made their mark unlike your hero who has for the past one year been repeating himself. Very shameful.

Culture / Re: Why Do Edo People Speak Yoruba? by AndreUweh(m): 5:50pm On Dec 10, 2013
macof: The name "Yoruba" was/is specifically in reference to Oyo

back in the days, Ile-Oodua as it was called consisted of many independent nations most of whom migrated from.Ile-Ife, others migrated from outside Nigerian territories to mix with the people and create new habitats.

Ekiti is only referred to as Yoruba today because most Ekiti Kete speak Oyo language coupled with the fact that Ekiti was an Oyo colony before the Kiriji war.

Ekiti language is not Yoruba, neither is Ondo, Owo, Bini, Ijebu, Ife etc.
They all have their languages with heavy similarities that's why when the Europeans came, seeing the same religion, similar culture and tradition made them proclaim this people as "one tribe" but with the exception of Bini and it's closest Towns because, the Bini were very much independent and strong on their own unlike Owo, Ijesha, Ijebu who were holding on each other.

The Oodua people are not "one tribe" we are different tribes and formerly different nations.

The Owo language is very similar to Bini language than any other tribe.

Ijebu is most similar with isekiri

Awori is similar with Oyo

Typical Ekiti accent is even closer to Bini accent than Oyo accent.

The word "Yoruba" is just to merge us together and give us one name.
but in the real sense of the word only Oyo is Yoruba.

Edo is a distant tribe under the umbrella.
Isan and others are to Edo as Ogbomoso is to Oyo.

Ekiti, Edo, Oyo, Ijesha, Isekiri etc. are all Tribes of the same ethnic group
Edo is separate and has never and will never be of the same ethnic group with Ekiti, Oyo, Ijesha etc.

agbotaen: 1. some igbos should be ashamed of themselves as they dont even know what an igbo word is and what a bini word is , cant you igbos accept that you took some things from benins ? kingship is not practiced in igboland but now every igbo town has an igwe or king , una no de shame and they will say they had it since ancient times.
2. why did majority of ika reject being igbo in 1967 ? why are ika people not part of any igbo ethnic meetings such as ohaneze ndigbo ? un a no de shame , ikas have rejected igbo or being igbo period.
3. if you like continue to fool your self on internet , we don go very far with our activities , moreover if i tell you that my great great great grandfathers name was ovwiagbon , igbos will say it is an igbo word , shame on you igbo propagandists , its not surprising that was how your people were being defeated by nigerian troops but your propaganda machine was saying igbos have killed all nigerian troops , na waooooo ,

78. wonders - ahima
79. boundary - kaegba
80. ododo- red
81. ojenebo- deified king
82. ogidigan- great person
83. original - eregede
84. real - ketiketi
85. victory - ozegbe
86. ebulebu - good things .
and many more benin words and expressions in ika so we know those words that is in ika language that came from benin and we know those words from igbos in ika language like ----------------------------

1. eka- hand
2. imin- nose , although yorubas call it imu ,
3. onu- mouth , binis call it unu , while yorubas call it enu.

5. minin-water , although ikas also call some type of water as ame too .
6. okun- fire
7. bia is come
8. wehe- bring
9. umun or omun is children is same with umu in igbo
10. buru- carry .

so we know those words that come from igbo and those that comes from edo in our language , we are not like the average igbo persons that lies and may be out of ignorace say all words are igbo or try to give igbo meanings to every word .
5. as for what umunede means it is a combination of two words as seen in ika language today UMUN IS IGBO FOR CHILDREN AND EDE IS AN ISHAN WORD FOR ELEPHANT, it is not the same with igbo meaning of the word ede.
as today this ika name or word comprisies of both igbo and edo like ehiyem ofe - god gave me freely .or osewuedionma- god is senior , the only word similar to igbo here is wu , which is rendered as bu in many igbo dialects , the full sentence is oselobue wu edionma .
6. okenyeni dodo wehenim okpan ni ri imen agara ri uwaya this is a typical ika sentence and you can see so many things between edo and igbo tied to make a sentence , what was said is , please this man bring me the plate on the chair thats at the roadside .

7. finally ika is ika and we are no other tribe , and we know who we are and we cannot be cowed into an igbo union that is of no benefit and is not even consistent with our ancestors resolve to keep our identity seperate from others
This is the seventh time you have repeated this crap here, nwannemadu, why?.

chux4liv: Now we're discussing as intellect. What I meant was they only understand the igbo wordings but can not comprehend a full sentence of ika becos it contains some non-igbo words...As the case of London being a roman name and they being colonise by rome. It's a case of colonial territory. But record doesnt have it that umunede got colonised by bini rather it was formed by one of the prince of bini King called Ede and wife Iye. What ever u saw witten on the facebook link is exactly what we hv in our community doctrine (else I wont make it as reference) and it was passed from generation to generation.
We never disputed the record of Igbo pertaking in our community development and its influence in our culture. But we hv no record of them being the founders of Ika.
Igbodo and Ukwuani u speak off aren't Ika and so I can't speak for them. I know Igbos are migrate alot and they get to imbibe their culture were ever they settle.
Quest: was there any record of Igbos settling in bini kingdom in A.D if yes, then I can acclaim that Ikas are truly Igbos?
I doubt if you are from Ika. Ho on earth do you not know that Igbodo is an Ika community. So you are just here to learn about your people.
Bini influence on Ika is aristocratic. We have been through this long time ago, you are just drawing us back.
