ChinenyeN: As for Ukwa and Rivers state, it is primarily some Ndoki who have expressed the desire. Asa on the other hand has maintained its stance alongside Ngwa. It also isn't all Ndoki who want to be cut into Rivers. There are those who are actively pushing to have Ndoki Rivers and Akwa Ibom brought into Abia. There are also those who favor a united Ndoki via the proposed Aba state.

So opinions differ within Ndoki, and they even end up arguing these differences of opinion among themselves. Funny enough it is this same difference that made the balkanization of Ndoki into three states possible; during the time they were arguing among themselves over their pro-Ngwa and anti-Ngwa sentiments.

Radoillo: True. If all Ukwa people had been included in Rivers State when that state was first created, they probably would have come up with their own ethnic seperatism by now. Even today, there are Ukwa people in Abia who want their territories to be transferred to Rivers State on the ground that (according to them) they have more cultural ties with the Ibani people of Rivers than with any of the groups in Abia state. Should that happen, it won't be long before another ethnic group would have been added to Nigeria's ethnic map.

Ethnicity and identification are largely a political issue. The more I study those concepts the more I understand they have little or nothing to do with anthropological facts.

False, the Ukwa communities in Rivers state such as the Ndoki are clamouring to join their kits in Abia state. Not the other way round.

The english language is very irrelevant in an igbo setting as in this photograph, it's Igbo all the way.

The importance of the Igbo language is so many. As you know, the English language does not cover every aspect of the Igbo ways of life. For example, in our diet, we have lots of food which the English does't know about it and its not grown in England but in Igboland. Ụna, imeguru, ikpuru, akashị, wokoroko etc, IS STILL PRESERVED IN OUR iGBO LANGUAGE.
When our fathers go to the shrine, they do that in Igbo language and when pouring libation, its done in Igbo language. The Igbo language is as relevant as the english language. The difference is, English has more speakers.

Most communities in the Ihitte/Uboma/Obowu/Nsu areas name their communities after a prominent animal. fish or plant, as a result it's a taboo to kill or eat those plants or animals.E.g
Ụmụoke--children of Oke. They are not allowed to eat oke (rat)
Ụmụihi- the fish called Ihi is a taboo to eat.
ỤMỤELEM-do not ele (antelope)
Ụmụachara- do not eat achara
Ụmụenwe--do not eat or kill enwe (monkey).
This sort of practice is widely known in Imo and Abia state communities.

Most world known languages have in one way or another borrowed from another language. The English language which is world's number one language have a lot of words derived from Latin, Greek, French, German etc.
There is nothing wrong from Ndigbo borrowing from other languages to enrich the Igbo language.
Having said that, I commend the society for the promotion of Igbo language in its attempt at manufacturing some words for Igbo language. At least for now, we can not write yunivasiti for university, but mahadum for university.
Having said that, I don't see any thing wrong in borrowing from english or another language e.g sekọndarị for secondary.
It is difficult for a language spoken by over 40 million people such as Igbo to be exclusively on her own.
