tunjijones:1. Nigeria is one of the least safe nations in the world today... The main reason we are not getting investors in and our tourism industry is suffering. No need sugarcoating this. 2. Relocating abroad is for different reasons for those migrating... For some, it's about higher education and skills acquisition, while others simply want to live in more civilised societies with law and order. There are those interested in second citizenship for themselves and their families. Not everyone is relocating for financial reasons or looking to live in big mansions as they did in Naija. 3. Anyone expecting or demanding that he or she should live the same subsidised and low tax lives they lived in Naija, while abroad, is just delusional, stupid or just unreasonable. Average Nigerians don't realize that no nation grows when governed the way Nigeria is... Subsidy and low taxes coupled with massive corruption will favor the few that are wealthy and connected. The poor will simply get poorer while crimes will increase... Quality of life will remain low. Now, am I saying abroad is preferable?! Nope! I am saying it comes down to personal choices and aspirations of individuals. If financial growth is what one desires, then one should choose the nation that offers that. But, if peace and safety are what one desires, the difference is obvious. |
If you want to disparage abroad life while glorifying Naija, at the very least, use proper facts...! These Anti-Japa stories get more idiotic everytime I read them. You guys should know that Japa didn't start this year...! People have been leaving Naija for abroad even before the writer of this crap was born. |
Semaj77:Slander is not a ground for arresting anyone. You simply sue me to court, where I appear before a judge. Arresting can be declared by the judge if I refuse to appear. Can you arrest someone like Davido or Burna Boy if he says something slanderous against you?!! Is it average fellow citizens that should be arrested whenever it pleases you even for civil disputes?!! How do you people even think sef?!! |
Zocalite:That's sad...! Christians in Nigeria are not being led by Shepherds. Most of these clergymen are hirelings interested in enriching themselves. |
iampeterben:It was clearly stated above that it's native to Southeast Asia...! ![]() |
Freedom of speech...! He is entitled to say and claim whatever he wants. Besides, I don't understand why some of you Nigerians are always up in arms online over any small thing. Una too get time...! If they ask una to clearly show us the Nigerian that invented Afrobeats, una no go fit o. |
Social media...! Another form of modern day mind control. The more you look, the less you see. ![]() |
judewrites:I don't disagree with you, Sir. What I have been pointing out is people erroneously limiting God's blessings to finance. Or claiming that people are poor because they are not blessed by God. |
judewrites:Yes, His blessings make rich. However, the blessings are not obtained by religious acts. The Bible says He causes the sun and rain to come in equal measures upon the good and the wicked. Besides, the greatest blessing we can ever receive from God is His peace which surpasses all understanding of man. Anyone serving and worshiping God for Earthly and material wealth is ignorant and misguided... God already gave you a brain and destined you for wealth before you were born. |
No amount of tapping, head slamming, consumption of extra Virgin oil, etc, will make anyone wealthy. If it were that simple, Nigeria would be the wealthiest nation on Earth... Our GDP would be over the moon. The "gift" and path to wealth and success are not restricted by God to religious or pious people... They abound universally and are available to everyone whether or not you fear God. If you understand something as simple, Biblical and even common sense as this fact, you would serve God solely for your love for him. |
Lol... A non-student association of potbellied men cashing out from Politicians while claiming to be doing Aluta. I wonder why Nigerian youths and university students have allowed these crooks continue to claim representatives over them. |
Sigh... More window-dressing using lofty language and windy stats. The time spent writing this image-laundering crap might have been best used to proffer workable solutions to the myriad of problems your Employer in Aso Rock created. Truth is... You can paint this situation however you wish, but you can't make it real or believable without facts! The only thing to show that Tinubu's policies are working would be visible and loud testimonies of average Nigerian citizens starting from hardworking Nigerians. |
franugo:Well, the updated gist is that it's EFCC that took the young man into custody...! I think it's regarding the statements he made concerning the selective arrest and indictment of Igbo celebs after E-Money was arrested. |
santaclaws:Let's leave America fess...! If we continue like this ehn, soon nobody go dey talk again. It will be a full blown dictatorship being masked as a Democracy. This is what APC wants. |
santaclaws:Obviously, but such thuggish and intimidating tactics should never be seen from EFCC and other security agents. How many times have we seen them employ such tactics against Politicians?!! The disregard and abuse of the constitutional rights of average citizens will set this nation backwards. |
Lol... Other than blatantly deny, what else was he going to do?!! In the absence of clear evidence, it certainly "wasn't him". ![]() |
santaclaws:So, that makes this Gestapo style of arrest and intimidation okay?!! In a Democracy?!! Issokay! Thank God some of us were born and raised during the time of Military rule. When we say this nation hasn't started practicing proper democracy yet, una think say na joke. |
Maasoap, can you see what I'm talking about?!! There is a huge and deliberate move by powerful and influential people to quell dissent and criticisms at all levels. While we are here arguing for or against, these people spreading fear and using intimidation to hush up naysayers. Tomorrow, someone will say stop "Demarketing" Nigeria and scaring away Investors. Y'all think these things are hidden from the world out there! I said we don't practice true democracy here, and some people came for my head. |
Mcslize:Seriously, I don't understand why most so called Learned Nigerians suddenly forget their education when it comes to defending politics or actions that please them. That's why a Landlord will simply call the Police to arrest a tenant because he is owing him rent, and the Clowns in black will show up (after being settled) to handcuff and lock up the individual). There are hundreds of people languishing in detention at the behest of men and women of influence... What was their offense?!! They were accused of doing something or even speaking lies. If Dele Famotimi (not quite sure of the spelling of his last name) didn't have his own level of clout and influence, he would still be suffering behind bars till now. Such practices are unjust, weird, and absolutely abnormal everywhere on Earth. |
maasoap:Lol... Stop this pretence chief. You know better! Nigerian Police will Arrest without locking up and even causing the person serious trauma?!! What is the lawyer for?!! Can't the lawyer serve and subpoena?!! Since when do you have to arrest people before taking them to court over a civil matter?!! Where is it right for Policemen to just arrest people simply because they insulted or accused people of speaking lies or ills against them?!! How does that even make sense?!! Okay... If the police are to be involved, what stops them from inviting the person to come to the station for discussions and questioning?!! |
Whether for love or not, the fact remains, Marriage is an Investment! You invest: Time (important years of your life) Finance (Marriage isn't cheap no matter how virtuous the woman or man is) Emotions (it can be draining) Etc... It's now left for you to decide if that woman or man will give you the best return for such a high stake Investment. That's why you do serious due diligence (research and background checks) before committing everything especially your future into such a sacred union. |
SatoshiX:You don't just arrest and imprison people because they made verbal or written accusations. How else do you Nigerians want to be educated on basic rights of citizens especially in a democracy?!! You simply sue the person via your lawyers. It's the court that will then summon the person to appear and prove his allegations or accusations. It's the judge that issues a bench warrant for arrest if the person fails to appear. Omo... You Nigerians are truly behind your generation out there. Damn!!! |
Nigerian Judiciary is an embarrassment to this nation...! Along with our law enforcement agents. Why should the wealthy and privileged continue to use them as tools of oppression against the less privileged or average citizens?!! Well... GTBank has messed up here. This is terribly poor optics... Practically an admission of guilt. In these times where banks are already having declining profits and reduction in client investments... Acquiring a negative image from a man of high influence like VDM is deeply unwise. The bank can't come out looking good from this...! They should've just released a statement clarifying the complaint and addressing it, or simply called him privately to sort it out. |
Sigh... The future Governor of Lagos state is being dragged upandan. Meanwhile, NANS has never represented the interests of Nigerian students anywhere in this country. It's just an organization of privileged thugs that graduated from school years ago using the platform to get wealthy. |
I think what is quite irritating and absolutely stupid is calling them "Women". A man doesn't automatically become or transition into a woman simply and solely because he feels like it, and because a team of surgeon manages to alter his appearance including sex organs. |
Real Betis beating Fiorentina by unreplied goals...! Abeg, make this United secret agent (Antony) no go cause problem for Maresca o. |
Hmmm... I just dey laugh this country called Naija. Na terrorists una dey pamper like this. Issokay! |
Penalty for Spurs...! Man United vs Spurs final more or less confirmed! |
Nazgul:That's true...! Still, I thought leagues were not supposed to exceed their quota. When United won the Europa under Mourinho, the 4th club had to get pushed to Europa league the next season. |
Normally, Nigeria na land of Settlements! CBEX don Roger the right people. |
Nazgul:Really?!! That's interesting. |
Demurray:Yep... The 5 slots will be automatically reduced to 4. |
