Fulaman198:yes of course, it was the hausa/fulani jihadists who propagated the "deen" of islam in southern 9ja |
words such as "fitina" are also derived from the arabic word "fitnah" which means unrest or uprising |
thearbiter i disagree with the meaning of number 15, Imole is a pure yoruba word with fully means "elesin imole" i.e the practitioners of an enforced religion. it has no link to mali-an or arabic origins |

[quote author=IndianBwoy post=43778341]In movies dark skin is not preferred coz in India and across most of Asia light skin is preferred. Same like in Africa (Nigerian movies) etc. How women boeach their skin because the believe white skin is preferred and better looking. you seem to have this insincere attitude of trying to justify the shortcomings of your nation by making references (to) or analogies to nigeria or the entire africa as a whole. But in this case, you lie. Nigeria, a predominantly black nation doesn't discriminate between black-skinned and fair-skinned entertainers Unlike india which "no longer" features black indians in the movie industry. I can give you examples of dark-skinned actors in nigeria's movie industry who are greatly loved and admired by nigerians. These artistes includes: genevieve nnaji, jim iyke, funke akindele, chiwetel ejiofor, hakeem kae-kazim e.T.C. (You can Google search these names to confirm) now give me examples of black indians in india's movie industry |

IndianBwoy:but i can proudly claim that more than 60% of the african populace circumcises their offsprings including the sophisticated egyptians |
IndianBwoy:what i mean by minute component is that these nilotes are a minority compared to the entire african continent, so u can't judge an entire continent by some states in it |
otemanuduno:c. Miklas |
the ministry is moving forward |
IndianBwoy:theses stock of people u made reference to are just minute compoments of africa, and therefore you can't induce that all africans behave in such ways. |
i have been quite confused for a while now about who arrived first among this two sages in yoruba history. All i know is that orunmila (baba ifa) took the spirituality course of life as he was the first adherent of he ifa religion and also the first initiate to consult this oracle of divination. I'm not quite sure if he really existed as a mortal or he was just one among the pantheon of gods ife had.. it seems odua on the other hand took a more political course as he was best known of ruling the entire yorubaland from his seat of power at ife and also subsequently installing his offsprings as regent over other semi autochthonous yoruba nations within his domain. What i really don't understand is who first existed among the two. All suggestions are mostly welcome. Thanks cc: tpiah, emamos, johnnydon, truthman |
IndianBwoy:check out this wikipedia article on circumcision https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumcision as for ethiopians not practicing circumcision, i think thats an erroneous assertion. the abyssinians are coptic christians mostly and dont take xtian rites with laxity the tribes of adamawa you mentioned and the nomadic fulbe do circumcise their folk but at an older age just before marriage |
nguage:it is quite obvious that people had existed and lived in yorubaland prior to the arrival of odua. he is referred as the ancestor of the yorubs kings and not the entire yoruba race... it seems that his ability to unify the entire yoruba stock into a single cohesive fold was wat made him distinguished |
kikikikikikikiki... dats her opinion though, it doesn't make any difference. the bill has been passed into law already. her post as head of state is more of a ceremonial position since the prime minister cameron wields more political powers |
IndianBwoy:then how do u guys go about getting wives if u are not allowed to woo (propose ur love) ladies, do u guys get betrothed from birth? |
indianbwoy what class of people are refered to as "harejan", or the "untouchables" |
IndianBwoy:from which source did you learn dat africans don't circumcise? if not until now that is has been outlawed, female circumcision (clitoral cutting) was rampant in some parts of midwestern nigeria (among the binis to be precise). and research has proved that uncircumcised males stands a higher risk of contacting STDs than their circumcised counterparts because the hood (foreskin) of the penis can serve as a condusive breeding ground for harmful microbes... in fact body mutilation is not an excuse for not circumcising, ear-piercing and nose-piercing are also forms of mutilation but still indian females enjoys having them |
