Hello @newacca, Thanks for your question. In fact, you have said it all, there really is no completely NEW idea under the sun, what we have is a tweaking of an already industry/ business where we improve on value offering, either by helping clients/ consumers reduce their cost, increase speed of delivery, putting more money into people's hands, and so on. However, we advice idea/ business owners to keep the information to be posted on our portal as simple as possible, so serious and genuine investors interested in such industry picks interest not just based on the idea but the background and experience of the idea owner. Like you said, to own 10% of a great idea that is turned into reality is completely better than 100% of Zero. Ideas are not enough, execution is the key. Today, Bill Gates owns less than 7% of Microsoft, the company he founded with Paul Allen, yet he is worth $76B, through investment in Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, his foundation and other companies. Africans must begin to develop culture of financial integrity and trust to grow beyond their imaginations. Look at Jumia, Konga, for instance, the idea has always been out there in the form of AMAZON and EBAY and even Alibaba, but nobody, not a single Nigerian had the courage & determination to execute such magnitude here due to FEAR of failure, Ovashop tried, but did not sustain it. Nairaland, Jobberman and other successful Platforms, had the courage, determination and persistence to try out ideas that existed in developed worlds and now hugely successful and celebrated. Once more, ideas are good, but execution with courage, determination and perseverance is KEY and certainly with the right funding. Angelstartups uphold the highest level of ethics in terms of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, independence and objectivity and therefore will NEVER disclose member's ideas. |

Hello drsalaks. Have you considered setting up an online pharmaceutical platform where drug manufacturers are connected directly to the thousands of stores/ chemists/ hospitals, etc, that we have in Nigeria? In this case, you own next to little physical assets, while offering huge value for the two in terms of B2B, making it easier for the stores/ chemists, etc to get their drugs, even at a much discounted rate, and improving the manufacturers profitability, while making your margins. You can check out www.angelstartups.com.ng. Sign up as an Investor for free and look through viable startups under Healthcare to invest in. Cheers. |

Hello. When you look for geometric profits like this, you must also be very ready to lose the entire capital at a go. Businesses dont work that way. Speculation sure does, however you can lose 100% as well. Speculations in forex, stocks speculations, etc may be worth your while. But if you are not looking for such gigantic profits within a month: join www.angelstartups.com.ng, sign up as an investor to look through hundreds of proposals by different startups to choose from. Its completely free! We also advice investors on stocks picking. |
@ProGSM, sign up on www.angelstartups.com.ng as an investor, you can then search through our database for FREE! on various business ideas you could invest in. You should begin to think of investing in some already existing businesses if you wish, as starting out with little capital in Nigeria may be limiting. If you want to go all alone, ensure you split the money into 2, then use 1 part to try the business you are passionate about, see if it makes sense, then invest the other portion later. If it does not go fine, you won't have lost all your money, but half and you would have learnt: How not to do that particular business. |

Note this: No idea is entirely new under the sun.As you are initiating an idea, someone else is doing the same elsewhere.Do the non-disclosure agreement thing, but the truth is execution is everything and not ideas.Ideas may be stolen, but execution cannot. There are numerous ideas that you have thought if and people you don't know have executed not because it was heard from you,but because they also thought of it.You are not an island of ideas.Get out there,if you are sure of yourself and meet investors, only those that can add value to you.Sign up on angelstartups.com.ng for example and connect. |
