I maintain there is no provocation whatsoever that caused the war. Yes, there were events that happened but none at the scale that should lead to war. Basically, there are corresponding responses to certain actions. VVP is ex-KGB. He knows the game. He's been at it for a long time. In one short paragraph, describe what you offer, who you help, and what they get. Keep it simple:

"I help small [niche] businesses in Nigeria grow their Instagram presence with consistent, well-designed content. I handle everything — content creation, captions, posting, and engagement — so you can focus on running your business. Starting from N50,000 per month."

Save that paragraph. You will use it repeatedly.

DAY 4 — IDENTIFY FIVE TARGET CLIENTS

Go on Instagram right now. Search for businesses in your chosen niche in your city or area. Look for ones with a page that clearly needs help — inconsistent posts, poor captions, blurry images, low engagement despite having followers.

Write down five of them. Their Instagram handle. Their contact information if visible. This is your prospect list.

DAY 5 — MAKE FIRST CONTACT

Send a message to at least three of the five businesses you identified. Not a copy-paste pitch. A genuine observation.

Go to their page. Find something specific that is not working. Then send a message like this:

"Hi [name], I came across your page and I love what you're building. I noticed your last post was from [date] — I know how hard it is to keep up with content when you're focused on running the business day to day. I manage social media for [niche] businesses and I would love to show you what consistent content could do for your visibility. Would you be open to a quick chat?" (Edit as appropriate).

Send it. Then wait. Some will not reply. Some will say no. But one — sometimes more than one — will say yes. (Don't waste time with the NOs. It's part of the game. What matters are those who say YES).

That yes is your first client conversation.

DAY 6 — PREPARE FOR THE CLIENT CONVERSATION

If someone responds positively, prepare three things:

Your portfolio samples — the Canva designs you made on Day 2.
A simple one-page document showing your packages and prices.
Two or three questions to ask them — "What is your main goal for social media right now?" "Who is your ideal customer?" "Have you worked with a social media manager before?" — so you understand their needs before you propose anything.

DAY 7 — REST AND REFLECT

What worked? What felt uncomfortable? What do you need to learn more about? Write it down.

The first week of any new venture is mostly learning.

Do not expect a paying client in seven days (that's why it's a side hustle and like anything you do at first, it's fine if you stumble a bit) — but if you have followed these steps, you will be further ahead than 90% of people who said they wanted to do this.

Learn Canva properly. Spend two to three hours going through Canva's own free tutorials (available on their website). Learn to resize designs, use brand kits, create Reel covers, and export files correctly.

Understand content pillars. Every business's social media content should rotate through a few consistent themes — in the industry this is called "content pillars."
