Interesting courtroom drama, but can we expect anything to change by the time the case moves along the court system? |
F/ormer USDA IG Phyllis Fong told government officials that that she didn’t recognize President Trump’s authority to fire her. She then refused to leave her office. Federal security agents were forced to physically remove her proving her firing was justified.Federal security agents forcefully and physically removing her does not mean her firing was justified. They can go to court but it will be a waste of resources for these career officers. There is a process to the thing. Read more here - https://www.npr.org/2025/01/27/nx-s1-5275424/president-trump-fired-more-that-a-dozen-inspectors-general-heres-why-that-matters The unfortunate thing is that most people rejoice over what they don't understand and when it hits them in the buttocks, they cry wolf. |
Ordinary minimum wage is now a challenge for the leaders across Federal and State government to implement. But all is still well with the largesse received by the presidency, NASS and most of the governors. If this is not an uncaring actof leadership, I don't know what it is. (Yes, there might be some bottlenecks to implement this quickly but the longer it is not done, the worse the plight of the people that rely on it. The sad thing is that since it does not affect the leadership, everyone is slow-walking the process). |
This video of hers is not necessary. All the story there is not necessary. The public notice her lawyer did is sufficient enough, and she should leave it at that. But maybe she too want to win in the court of public opinion. |
Google notes that only users in the United States will see both changes because when “official names vary between countries, Maps users see their official local name. Everyone in the rest of the world sees both names. That applies here too.”Okay, the name is changed, but only as it concerns the US. Other countries will call it whatever they want to call it. |
[b]US President Donald Trump has confirmed that Microsoft is in talks[b] to acquire TikTok, amidst uncertainty surrounding the app's future in the United States. This development comes after a US law ordered TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to divest its ownership or face a ban in the country.Trump said it and everyone is carrying the news that MIcrosoft is in consideration to acquire TikTok. For a guy that lies as he breaths, this news should be taken with a pinch of salt until when corroborated from other reputable sources (with possible knowledge of such a deal). Trump that can be trying to pressure TikTok. Not to mention that the whole narrative of TikTok being a national security concern or privacy issues is the exact thing that Meta and other Big Tech do in the US. But because they are US companies, they can do no wrong. |
This man Trump... "They ignored the garden variety discrepancies in the person’s immigration history," said Cassandra Burke Robertson, a law professor at Case Western Reserve University who has researched denaturalization campaigns. "The Trump administration changed that. They put more resources into the program. The directive was to pursue denaturalization of anybody who had potential grounds for such."Denaturalizing someone based on typographcal errors is the height of pettiness. But as someone has said, they have developed their country enough to achieve that. |
At least the pilot made it out. But $81m for just one plane? Well, a defense budget close to a trillion dollars can afford that and the maintenance. |
That job and work load is a drag but as much as it's a stepping stone for some, it can be depressing for a lot. Anyone going through this phase, craft a worthy goal and keep your eyes on it. You will pull through. |
Let the recruitment be free and fair. |
Good to see them cordial but Mr President, sit down in your country and think ways to develop it. You can't be jetting around the world "seeking investments" or even casually attending meetings where a Foreign Minister or even Ambassador can handle. How many times do you see the leaders from top nations out of their country in a year? |
Some development in Maiduguri. No vandals should near it o. |
“Power is never given; it must be fought for. If you’re not ready to fight, don’t expect change,” Amaechi said. It's statements like this that cause issues and unnecessary power struggles like the one Trump did in the US in 2020 and that we've been seeing in Nigeria for a while. Even though the premise is true, the choice of words is careless. |
But on Monday at the national talk-shop El-Rufai accused APC of abandoning its founding principles and fostering poor leadership.Did they even have principles before? Does not look like it since 2015 they have ascended to the center and even in most of their states. El-Rufai noted that the APC was originally established to combat corruption, rebuild the economy, and enhance security.Interesting. Seems they are not performing well on any fronts. “I have no plans to leave the party,” El-Rufai said, adding that he expects improved performance from the APC.Then why are you saying we should not believe THE NATION. They didn't say you were leaving the party. These politicians sef... ![]() |
This is a good one. Not just roads should be commissioned. |
Well done Governor Mbah. Keep up the good work and hope you continue to enjoy the support of your people. |
Osimhen, be calming down. Public figures have much greater responsibility to control their emotions and reactions. Don't make life harder for yourself unnecessarily. |
Well done to the Mullahs in Iran. How has this helped improve the livelihood of Iranians and their proxies in Gaza and Southern Lebanon? |
Some good news from Nigerians in diaspora, not like all the negative ones that usually trend more than necessary. |
The Verdict?Well said. Both games are good and children should be encouraged to learn and become proficient in it from an early stage. |
“It is appalling and disturbing that they passed over all the eminently qualified 20 lawmakers from our zone, which has the largest electoral asset in terms of votes and membership of the APC, and handed it over to Lagos Central, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also comes from.Fair point though, but why did they not raise this when the negotiations were ongoing? Now, it seems too late. |
This defection should not be allowed but who will amend the constitution. Voters can't vote in a candidate riding on the wings of a party, only for him to defect at the end. This should be discouraged. |
Abeg, Super Eagles, make us glad early and don't leave to last minute unnecessary permutations. |
Expecting a Level 16 Servant to own property worth N100,000,000, will be running counter to the Public Service Rules and by extension the war against corruption. That's right. How will a Level 16 civil servant in present-day Nigeria own property worth 100 million naira. Even if it's a gift, he can not accept such. Law enforcement and the Justice system continue to flout the constitution and established rules. This is contributing to and expanding corruption. |
May Amotekun Corps continue to enjoy success against these terrorists and their activities. |
HE Alhaji Ganduje should never be holding public office in any party, ever again. But this is Nigeria! |
Does that mean his behaviour suits APC? |
The system did not want them and man must survive |
No Northerner should blame anyone for our current situation. We brought it upon ourselves. In 2015 we voted out the administration under the pretence of Boko Haram, today, where are we? We had Muhammadu Buhari as President for 8 years, yet, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road is not completed.” “I can hear discordant voices all over the Northern region, of betrayal, the question is who betrayed who? Out of the over 8 million votes President Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored in the 2023 General elections, over 5 million came from the North. That means the North chose to be betrayed.”High-sounding truth. Hope he does not change tune tomorrow. |
Israel reportedly met with Ukrainian diplomats on Tuesday to discuss a weapons transfer. Since then, US military cargo planes have been tracked flying from Israel to an airbase in eastern Poland. This is some hilarious global war-theatre arms movement. Iran buys Russian-made weapons to give to HZ. HZ fights Israel with most of these weapons and Israel captures them and then turn around to give to Ukraine, who is fighting with Russia in another war zone. A movie script can't be better. |
That's sad. May he rest in peace and may the Lord comfort the family left behind. |
All these trips to what end? Stay on your task and reduce moving around the world like someone with no burning assignment. |
