Good morning Boss @Frankrobbn1, I trried sending you an email but couldn't write anything in the message box or subject when I did and I even got an email notification that you tried to respond to me too, please how do I respond to you. Please I'm new with how Nairaland works . Many thanks
Frankrobbn1:

I regret to hear that your husband's study permit application was refused. From the refusal letter, the visa officer had expressed concerns about his "current immigration status" in the country where he is applying from. The reason behind this rejection is for the fact that your husband doesn't have a legal permit in his current country of residence. My professional advice in order to avert this refusal and get a positive consideration is that he should return to his home country, Nigeria where he has significant ties and reapply for a Canadian study permit. Other reasons for rejections "Purpose of Visit" and "Personal Assets and Financial Status" are standard refusal grounds. He should provide justifications for his proposed course of study and demonstrate that the program is directly relevant to his work experience. More importantly, if he has a registered business and assets in Nigeria, he could add them in his application and explain how these properties would compel his return home after studies.

It will end in praise

Good morning House,
Please I need all the Gurus in the house to come to my rescue. So I have BSc. in Economics but I have been working as an administrative officer for about 5 years now. I got admission to University of British Columbia for a Masters program with tuition of 10,165.19 CAD per year starting January 2022. I was given $12,000 back in 2019 by my father (retired) who is currently indisposed and I have also been able to raise $8,000 since then from my savings and investments. All these funds have been put in my dom account since May this year but I was told since I am below 30 years, I cannot be self sponsored. Please I have the following questions:
a) Is there a better way to present the funds in my SOA without using my father as a sponsor, I mean do I have to because he gave me the chunk of the funds 2 years ago?
a) Is their any other financing company (apart from Prodigy Finance, Mpower, Discovery, Ascent & co - they either don't fund my school/program) that I can get student loans from who would pay my tuition so the funds in my account will be used as living expenses as I intend to purchase GIC to indicate my commitment
b) Is there a way I can present the funds if my mom rents out her apartment for me to have more funds to cover living expenses (since I haven't been able to secure a loan) without her being my sponsor because she doesnt have any business as she has also stopped business for years now, so no documents to show for her to become my sponsor.
c) Or is there anyway I can be self sponsored, using the funds in my SOA (to serve as tuition & pay off one semenester's tuition) and the funds from renting out my mom's property (to serve as one year living expenses:CIBC's GIC), then use my other investments like stocks, valuation of my mom's property, and my own mortgage property to show I'll have the living expenses for the second year.

I am asking because I know the source of funds is very important to the VOs. I am really and truly grateful for your guidance.

Congratulations again.

Hello Anon 123, Hello Everyone,

I'm new here and I've been reading the preceeding threads.

I am an Economics graduate with over 3 years plus experience in administrative duties - currently an executive assistant. I would like to know my options as a friend who currently studies at Royal Roads university in Vancouver tried to discourage me from applying to colleges.

I am currently applying to Connestoga College, computer application development certificate with co-op and second choice human resources with co-op (which is in line with my current career) but this was the response I got when I got to the education step.

Can anyone kindly explain what this means and what next I should do.

My real plan is to get admitted into a 2 years tech program with co-op (software engineering or human computer interaction): 2 years for the purpose of PR, co-op to hopefully transition into the canadian labour market with ease and tech because that's the path I'm currently passionate about (and taking courses in Ux/Ui) but due to serious domestic violence issues at home, I don't want to wait till fall (September 2021) and would prefer to leave for the Nigeria for the Spring/summer (May) intake, and hopefully take my mom with me.

Kindly help refer me to possible programs that can help achieve all my goals stated above and how to dgo aabout their admission process.

Anon123:

1) its possible but only if your grades at the end of your study are good. If there are you can apply for a masters

2)After your 1yr PGD program and which to further for a masters, you dont apply for another study permit but rather you apply for an extension of your stay by mostly submitting the new admission letter (masters or PGD) and statement of account to show you can handle your tuition and living expenses for at least a year. The chances are high as long as you submit those documents, hardly get denied and feedback takes at least a month.

3) yes it will if the its a total of 2yrs(first program and the second)

NB if you are insisting on doing the masters, you can go ahead with 1yr PGD and den the masters but if you ain't, you just apply for a 2yrs PGD program which saves you the stress of applying for an extension of your stay.
