Was Atiku right about NNPC?
These losses are too high
Of course, he was right.
How many government companies are being run profitably in our country?
In which developed country do they have government running oil companies like NNPC?

Malema wants continental and international recognition. He needs it for his political career so he will say anything.

If anyone believes him, they are inviting termites into their wooden house
If/when he gets power, he will be worse than Mugabe.
Worse.

Julius Malema is only playing to the gallery. If anyone thinks Malema is saying what he believes, the person will believe anything?

Malema should be watched by everyone, only time can tell if he really believes this. Me? I don't.
Another wise Nigerian on the thread.
It is like when we were rioting back then in school and the prefects will shout that we should not, while doing as if they want to stop us but quietly encourage more protests.
The core supporters of Malema in his Economic Freedom Fighters, EFF, are the lazy mo.fos who want to have free things from the labour of others.
If you know you know.

He came out opening and denied being a Yoruba man and claimed to an Ijaw man.
I'm not saying people should not go for his rescue, but stop painting the yoruba's evil.
Was Abiola not a politician when Igbos and Yorubas as well as northerners rallied around him under NADECO to confront Babangida until he stepped aside?
All that time the JagaBandit of Bullion vans was doing his drug dealing business pretending to be doing NADECO work.

I would ask you a question, if you were to be in charge of affairs will you have paid the sum?
Looking at the diff cases you listed above, it's obvious that an avenue like this is used to siphon money from developing countries by dubious organisations. And such instances are with connivance of indigenes of such countries.
I won't be shocked if it's revealed that some Nigerians are the ones behind P&ID....
Should in case the FG subsequently pays, those who signed the agreement should be made to pay for this dastard act.
I agree with you largely but most of those who signed the agreement are dead.

Jonathan agreed to pay because his administration broke the agreement.

Someone in the Yaradua's administration signed the agreementts and Jonathan's administration broke the agreement.

However, a delicate review of the whole thing would reveal that there's an element of criminality in the whole thing

What has the company invested in Nigeria to warrant any payments at all?

How can someone be making dubious calculations on estimated profits?
You are confusing yourself too much.
Agreement with element of criminality was broken. Do you have any reference for this?
Please read up on similar arbitration.

But state asset seizures “happen all the time”, said James Langley, a partner with international law firm Dentons and an expert in arbitration.

In a 2008 case against Chad, a UK judge ruled that proceeds of oil sales held for the purpose of making repayments to the World Bank qualified as commercial assets.

And in 2018, a U.S. judge cleared the way for a Canadian mining firm to target shares in a U.S. oil refinery owned by state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) over an arbitration debt owed by Venezuela.
.
.
.

IS $9 BILLION AN UNUSUALLY LARGE AWARD?

Arbitration awards in the billions are not uncommon. Langley said the method used to determine the figure, based on expected earnings over the life of the contract, was standard for commercial arbitration.

A co-founder of P&ID testified during the arbitration that the company spent $40 million before the project failed, but Langley said the sum was not necessarily relevant.

The award, Langley said, is “just a function of the kind of contract this was”, reflecting potentially large profits.

I said it before, lemme repeat it here. What Falz is doing is what others have done before. Did it work? Aren't we in an even worse condition now than then. Martin Luthur King was in a civilised nation where public opinion meant something.
Public opinion always means something even in the most primitive society hence the need for propaganda, town criers and other means of influencing the opinion of the public in favour of the rulers.
Did God of Israel not listen to the public opinion of the Jews to have a King instead of Judges rule over themhuh

The deal was shrouded in fradulent secrecy from the get-go.

However, except the government can conclusively prove that the signatories on the Nigerian side were unauthorized/forged, it's going to be hard to escape some form of settlement.

Furthermore, the P&DI is backed by hedge-fund managers, the FG needs to identify who they are & open back channel negotiations with them.
Was that not what "clueless" Jonathan did and successfully reduced the amount to $850mhuh
