Ussy4real: David Mark na scam right from onset.. Some people go still comot support the thief.. Ortom, the wheel barrow governor of the All Poverty Congress, APC in his state is not a scam right If you are wise, you will ask yourself why barawo bubu has not arrested his fellow rogues in the Association of ProgreTHIEF Criminals, APC but resorting to media trial of opponents. SignalNG1: Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has come under fire for spending over N100 million for the senatorial declaration event of APC Benue South senatorial candidate, Mr. Daniel Onjeh when civil servants in the state are being owed months of unpaid salaries.
This is coming as the governor has also been accused of borrowing excessively to the tune N60 billion within a space of seven months since he assumed office as governor of Benue State.
In the midst of Benue State government’s inability to pay salaries, several Benue State indigenes who spoke to SIGNAL on Monday on condition of anonymity lamented Ortom’s flagrant wastage of the state’s resources on frivolous projects that have no direct or indirect bearing on the welfare of Benue State workers, the latest being the political campaign of Daniel Onjeh.
“What is the relevance of Daniel Onjeh’s election to Benue State that the governor pulled out N100 million from the state’s treasury for his declaration on Saturday when I am being owed 4 months salary?”, a concerned Benue civil servant who did not want to be named queried in frustration.
A top official of the Benue State government who spoke to this newspaper decried Ortom’s excessive borrowing since he came into office. “The first month he came he borrowed N10 billion. The second month he borrowed N5 billion. Then he got a bailout of N28.1 billion. Just a few days ago, he wrote to the Benue State House of Assembly seeking permission to borrow another N15 billion. What is all this borrowing about? These are debts that Benue State will continue to pay for the next 60 years. What it means is that Ortom has mortgaged the future of Benue State for the next 60 years. Despite all these borrowing, he is seven months in office and owing 4 months salaries. So where is the money going to? Benue State is in a mess”, the source lamented painfully.
Ortom, SIGNAL gathered pulled out the sum of N100 million for Saturday’s declaration ceremony of Daniel Onjeh who is contesting for the Benue South Senatorial district election under Ortom’s All Progressives Congress (APC).
Efforts to reach the governor's media assistant for a reaction have proved abortive.
But supporters of the governor are quick to argue that the governor is borrowing to start up government and set a base for looking into the critical financial challenges faced by the state workers. They also claim the issue of unpaid salaries was an inheritance from the past administration.
Notwithstanding, Governor Ortom recently collected N28.1 billion bailout funds released by the federal government as interest free loan to the state. The money, Benue State indigenes had expected would be used in settling a backlog of unpaid salaries of workers.
Seven months after Ortom entered office as governor; workers in the state are being owed salaries for the past 4 months. This is even more shocking as the governor is said to have borrowed a gigantic N60 billion so far in just seven months raising critical questions as to where all the funds have vanished into.

chibuzorAbia: David Mark is wearing red cap in this picture! Is that a quiet signal to the people from a particular region (famous for supporting criminal looters) to give him support? Time will tell!!!! Have you seen Alhaji LIE Mohammed wearing a red cap also to signify your yeye signal Revealed: How Buhari Budgeted N39 billion for Propaganda
In a bid to launder his already battered image, President Muhammadu Buhari has allocated a whooping sum of N39 billion in the 2016 budget to the Ministry of Information and Culture, a sum higher than the paltry N29 billion allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture.
This is a direct inverse of the 2015 budget, where Former President Goodluck Jonathan allocated the sum of N23 billion to Ministry of Information and N39 billion to the Agricultural Ministry.
The meager allocation to the Agricultural ministry has left political stakeholders wondering if the present administration aims at diversifying the economy or thriving on propaganda.
Buhari had in August, 2015 stated that Nigerians must stop paying mere lip service to agriculture, as crude oil and gas exports will no longer be sufficient as the country’s major revenue earner.
“It’s time to go back to the land. We must face the reality that the petroleum we had depended on for so long will no longer suffice. We campaigned heavily on agriculture, and we are ready to assist as many want to go into agricultural ventures,’’ Buhari stated.
However investigations by Post Nigeria revealed that Buhari’s words did not match his action following the lean budgetary provision for Agriculture.

MaziOmenuko: That is the arrangee-arrangee govt the last president was running; Dashing away properties at a reserved price.
That property could have been easily converted to another use if the initial complaints of security concerns was an issue. It could have been an Annex of UniAbuja Teaching Hospital, or a College of technology, or NDDC skill acquisition centre. But no, it had to be sold to individuals; same individuals that has been sabotaging the future of this country for their own personal gain.
Of course almost nothing will come out of this! Election is approaching, a lot of compromise will be reached and the case will die a natural death. But its good to now that David Mark, who PDP was positioning to be the next president after GEJ, would have continued the impunity mantra of the PDP and sell-off this country to the lowest bidder; which of course would have been himself. That impunity has stopped under the CHAIN-ge administration of barawo bubu and his 40 thieves cabal presidency of the All Poverty Congress, APC, not so sunnyb0b0: Timipre Sylva, former governor of Bayelsa state, has retrieved 48 of his property which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seized during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
According to PUNCH, some of the property are located in Wuse II and Maitama, highbrow areas of Abuja.
Back then, the commission had slammed 50 charges against the ex-governor and arraigned him before three federal high courts in Abuja.
Sylva, who contested the 2015 governorship election in Bayelsa, had accused the anti-graft agency of witch-hunt and political persecution.
The case was subsequently struck out.
A PUNCH correspondent, who visited some of the houses, observed that the inscription ‘EFCC, Keep Off’, on the gates or fences of the property, had been wiped off the buildings while some had been rented out.
The correspondent, who posed as a prospective tenant, was informed that the rent for the property ranged between N2.5m and N6m per annum.
Sixteen units of service apartments at Plot 1181 Thaba Tseka Crescent, off IBB Way in the Wuse II area of the federal capital territory (FCT), cost N6m per annum including a N1.5m service charge.
The building provides seven hours of power supply from a generator. One wing had been painted while the other was under reconstruction.
“When the EFCC sealed off this property, it was rotting away. However, it was re-opened a few months ago so we started to refurbish the property. We have repainted the property and we have started renting the apartments out,” a guard at the property was quoted to have said.
At a block of flats, which comprises nine units (six one-bedroom and three two-bedroom flats) located at 8, Sefadu Street, Wuse, Zone 2, PUNCH was told that the rent ranged from N1.5m to N3m.
“Immediately the EFCC inscriptions were erased, all the flats were taken. There is no vacant apartment now,” the security guard said.
At a property located at 8 Mistrata Street, Wuse II, Abuja, it was observed that the property was a hotel, which charged between N25,000 and N45,000 per room.
TheCable’s efforts to reach Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC’s spokesman, for the reaction of the commission did not yield the desired result as of the time this report was filed.
His telephone line was out of reach, but a text message was sent.

hucienda: smh ... it is finished. It WAS finished longest time ago, as acknowledged by the packaging specialists- Ebola Owu and Asiwaju Asiwere of the All Poverty Congress, APC citizenisb: Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.
“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.
The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.
While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.
“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

******************************************
President Muhammadu Buhari has said his major weakness lies in not knowing how to make money.
He also disclosed that he even borrowed money to build his three houses in Daura, Abuja and Kaduna.
The President made this known while speaking on his assets during an Interview with Sun Newspaper.
According to him, “When Murtala/Obasanjo regime came, they made sure that certain grades of public officers must declare their assets when they assumed that office and they must declare when they were leaving. So, when I was sworn in as governor of North East, I declared my assets.
“I declared surprisingly, even the number of my cows then. Even if they were supposed to be producing every year, but I declared them the time I was there. And when I was leaving governorship, I became petroleum minister.
“When I was leaving to go to War College, I declared my assets. I could recall General Jemibewon then, was the Adjutant-General of the Army. He rang me and said he was sending me asset declaration form, that I must fill it, sign it before I left for the United States. And I did.
“General Jemibewon is still alive. And when I became head of state eventually, I declared my assets again.
“So, if you people are serious and interested about political officers becoming multi-billionaires, you can find out from Murtala downwards. And those of us who were not very good in making money you should pity us.
“Everybody likes money but I am not very good at making money. Let me put it that way. I borrowed from the banks to build the house in Daura and the one in Abuja that you mentioned and the one in Kano. The bank then was Barclays, now Union Bank. Kaduna State or North Central then housing scheme and the Federal Mortgage Bank for the house I am in and AIB, which was, I think, terminated by Central Bank. So, when you go through the records, you find out that the houses I built, I borrowed from there.”

Bollinger: Let's place a bet. In 2070, Nigerians will still be complaining of bad government. Do you know why? Where does the government come from? All governments all over the world come from the people. Read up the definition of DEMOCRACY and you will understand what i am talking about. So, if the people are bad, the leaders you select from within you will also be bad and that's a fact. Nigerians are generally bad and there is no way you can select a good person in that kind of environment. Even if eventually one good leader is found, the overwhelming number of bad people in Nigeria will find a way to push him/her aside or worse kill him/her. The problem is not the government. The problem in Nigeria is the citizenry. This is why someone like Atiku has the nerve to even think about running for the presidency. He knows that bad people will always want a bad person to lead them. Bravo. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3084794_DumbPeople_jpg287f2b4d3ead2f536f99f92cbca9c590 |

BoneBlogger: A lawmaker from Katsina state, has revealed his surprise after seeing the level of organization and discipline during his recent visit to Amman, Jordan. Hon. Abdullahi I. Mahuta, took to his social media page to share how he saw two cars patiently waiting for the traffic lights at 2.30 am despite being the only cars on the highway.
Abdullahi said he remembered Nigeria when he saw the cars waiting at the traffic.
Below is what he shared on Facebook;
It's 2:30 am here. I just looked through my window, then I saw these two cars waiting for the traffic lights to give them the green light. Then I remembered my country Nigeria and asked myself :
When will we get to this level of maturity and discipline? When he and his fellow leaders looters stop receiving bogus salaries, stealing our money while we lament hopelessly on nairaland etc without doing anything. |
